Yay! I'm really looking forward to this!!!!! :D Have they said who the returning artists are?? TIA

I was thinking of the same exact thing! 45 years ago (give or take) I watched that episode as a child and was surprised and confused why the comedy show that I liked was about something so horrible?! It's because even though all of these tv show characters aren't real, to some extent at least, they represent real people. The "Black-ish" characters are more real than the caricatured characters of All In the Family, but it's the idea that writers take great opportunities in these sit-coms that I've grown to love and appreciate, no matter how uncomfortable the child Me felt at the time. I'm not sure if I'm making my point clearly or not due to medication, but this episode immediately reminded me of that AITF episode all those decades ago!

Thank you so much for posting this! My husband and I have been watching the last couple of seasons of this show, and we couldn't remember whether they showed Hunter's run on the new course. Wow, he really just plowed through the course!!! The closest time was this last episode, the guy who knew Hunter from the obstacle course challenges. He was within a minute of Hunter's time, but I hated his attitude. I know that they have to psych themselves up and everything, but he was neither gracious winner nor loser.

All Episodes Talk: Small World, Big Lives
ShowsILoveToHate replied to NewOrleansLady's topic in Little People Big World
So in this last episode, Matt is making plans (literally!) to build a few new houses to make a "compound" for the family. And I keep hearing Jer&Auj saying that they'll be living/getting "the big house"?? Have they been told that this will happen? Are they just assuming? I heard Auj say that if they're going to move back to the farm, they need privacy, their own space, etc. Geez. It's as if they're saying to Matt & Amy "Hey if you want us living on the farm, it'll be on *our* terms". And seeing Matt with the architect and him saying (for the billionth time on this show) "Amy will never let me do this!" makes me think that perhaps ALL of this house/compound/big house/double wide, etc has ALREADY been ironed out in the divorce papers. Maybe it was brought up by some of the kids that due to their part in the success of the show for all those years, that they should have a stake in the farm. I'm just not buying that all of this is new. And the way that they ALL refer to Matt's house/home as the double-wide or the WD, makes me think that they all know that that is not Matt's final destination on the farm, so to speak! They'll make a huge deal out of Matt wanting to build a couple of new houses on the farm and in the end, it will happen. Amy and Matt will each get a brand new house, custom built for them, nothing huge, but nice and built to their specs. Jer&Auj will get the "big house" and potentially fill it with little Jers and little Aujs..... As for the other kids, I feel that they have their cut already and it doesn't include living on the farm, like it does for J&A. (Remember when Jacob was bashing his parents on social media about selling out his childhood for money but that he never got any of it? Shortly after, all was well with Jacob and the family, which I am sincerely so happy about. I truly think that at that point financially things got ironed with ALL of the kids. Oh, and regarding Jer&Auj praying for Matt & Amy to get back together; they HAVE to say that! It's in keeping with what they espouse on their marriage web site. No divorce, no sex before marriage. They think that especially Amy with her wild partying and dating is making them look bad, to the public that follows them! They think they'd sound hypocritical if they just happily accepted the divorce and subsequent dating of his parents. Sometimes I think that Jeremy appears to be genuinely pained when talking about his parents divorce and Amy's dating. He seems to be having a very time computing all of it. Think about it, they were raised with fairly strict morals expected from them, the religious schools they attended, etc. Maybe Jeremy is thinking "You taught us certain things, and now that you're divorced, all of that goes out the window??". -

I remember that too now! lol But I can't remember the word they used. I'm going to have to rewatch this episode to see if I can catch what they said. -

"Drown-proofing" is the term that I remember them saying. -

I thought tonight's episode was good. I thought that the water challenges were going to be worse. Then again, while I'm extremely comfortable in the water, I never would've made through the previous "locked in a tiny box" challenge! I like all of the "rosters" and I was sad to see 3 of them leave tonight. I give the last one the credit for even trying the 5-minute drown-proofing for the second time. I was cheering him on, out loud! :D I'm very impressed with the woman, roster #2 I think. I liked hearing the one instructor say that while they don't think of them as friends, that by the end of the process they're are people that he'd "like to work with". I guess that's the closest thing to inferring friendship as they want to say. -

I'm happy to finally see a thread for this show, too! Last night's episode was fairly intense and they had a lot of tap-outs. I wonder how many will make it to the end...? I liked that the instructors spoke kindly to each of them after they tapped out, before they left. I'm sure that those words meant a lot, to most of them. -
S02.E09: The Brother / S02.E10: The Truth

I really liked this season better, overall, than the first season. And I like the fact that they've really shown us so much more about Cornell. I loved the character and the actress so much more. I won't say anything specific, but I seriously can't wait until season 3. One question: Who was it that called Eric on the cell phone at the end, and it showed us Eric calling him back. I'm probably just drawing a blank on someone/something obvious. LOL -
I have to confess, it wasn't until today, after consuming a small amount of marijuana (legal, medical), and after reading all of your beautiful comments, that I've been able to finally watch Part 2. I was well prepared! Knew exactly what was coming up next. I think the first part with Lennie showed her as an insecure, over the top stalker, who refuses to believe that her boyfriend could possibly not be madly in love with her. I thought it was hysterical the way that Lennie said just enough to possibly be asked to be on the show next season - He needs the $$$$$. LOL The Host: "So Lenny, will we be seeing you next season???" "Oh..I don't know.....(looks at Whitney)..am I going to be on next season?" "If you're going to be part of my groups of friends, then..... I guess you will......". Loved the entire part with Kerryn. I don't think that she came off as badly as I thought she would, considering the comments I've read. Kerryn made it very clear that SHE was invited to appear to have a conversation, but then it didn't go the way she was given the impression that it would. With that group, she did as well as anyone was ever going to be. Buddy is the biggest, dumbest, ("Why are we still talking to her???" "I was Asked to be here to talk." "Oh....uh...well...uh... *I* didn't invite you...so....." *dribbles down his chin*) most obnoxious, fastest person to go down with the ship, as it were, character on tv. Like someone previously said, this reunion show showed a lot of the past season that made her look like an idiot, and she's making Babs look like a fool. And that entire sending the sext message to Hunter was all a set up. They are all terrible actors, but I think that Quitney can cry on demand, when she hopes to use it to her advantage. The rest of the "chorus" basically sang from the bleachers, support for ANYTHING Twitney said. They're laughing all the way to the bank right now. I hope they end up with guilty consciences when something serious happens to NitWhitney.

I I haven't watched tonight's episode yet, but after reading some of the posts here, I went and posted the words "My Big Fat Fabulous Lie" on the show's FB page, and someone immediately gave it a Like. Is it one of you??? LOL

S04.E04: Honeymoons, Part 1
ShowsILoveToHate replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Married At First Sight
I agree with what everyone has already posted. Heather's talking heads don't indicate a good story for these 2. I hate to say this, but her facial expressions, the negative ones, remind of that brunette from Season 3. (Forgot her name. LOL) What's "Unfiltered"? I know that Dr Pepper said that Heather had checked off "occasional smoker ok" on her list of traits that she wanted and/or didn't want in a mate. She really should've checked off "Non-smokers only". It was fun watching Tom and Lily at Dunnes River Falls. I recognized it immediately. She seems like she has the potential to be able to accept that he lives in a bus; but what about him? Does he have something against living somewhere else, for example, his wife's house? He shouldn't really expect anything to be ok with just giving up their lifestyle and hop aboard the bus. Sure he should keep his bus, but I hope he doesn't insist that they live there happily ever after....?? Nick and Sonia have real potential, but I get nervous watching them because they're doing so well, but one "false move" or word can throw a couple back a few steps, kind of like how their bedtime chat went. I'm rooting for them. -
All Episodes Talk: Small World, Big Lives

I just watched the 10 Year special and I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I've watched this show from day 1, every episode, so I thought it'd be boring but I loved remembering and seeing how young and adorable all of the kids were, especially Zach. There was a great mix of old footage along with new commentary, especially when Zach and Jeremy were talking about how they hated the cameras following them to school. I liked hearing what the adult versions of those kids had to say. Amy is so much more relaxed and seems a lot happier now that she's no longer married to Matt. Matt seems more relaxed as well. Even though they both live and work so close together, the "distance" that divorce gives them is doing them a world of good mentally and emotionally. Having said that, I'm on the side of hoping that one day they will be able to get back together! Put all of the blame and resentment behind them, and just be themselves. -
So here is the Ballroom Dance Competition's FB page, and on that page there is a link to their web site. NO WHERE on the FB or website does it even mention "beginners" competitions, or anything. After taking the time to look at the pictures on the FB page (recognized people who supposedly lost to Twitney and Tal) and the web site, I'm convinced it was a fake. Having said that, if the ballroom competition had allowed for them to perform as a "special performance/demonstration", then all the power to them! But to tell us that they won, over those other dancers?? No way. https://www.facebook.com/carolinaballroomchallenge http://www.carolinaballroomchallenge.com/

Whitney Thore: So She Thinks She Can Dance
ShowsILoveToHate replied to Meredith Quill's topic in My Big Fat Fabulous Life
Yes! Exactly!! So much truth in just a few sentences!!! -
That's a good point! Plus I know that the filming crew needs to install bright overhead lighting in the ceiling and darken the windows to cut down on glare and reflections, etc. She probably used her TLC pay to buy the house. I wonder if she needed one of her parents as a co-signer??

My husband and I watched last season and just binge-watched Season 2. I don't remember the first season being so.... dumb.lol I think it's a combination of bad writing and not so great acting, although I think the actors who portray Harrison and Frannie are very good (they're the 2 kids who were bowling and playing in the bowling alley). I agree that too many of them are "too together" and not really traumatized by everything that happened in the last few weeks (their time frame). And how convenient that the Mennonite mom was lactating and could feed the baby. I didn't like that Gord got killed, but it wasn't really surprising. I guess in a show like this, nothing is surprising because it's so unrealistically written. The "living off the grid" compound is kind of stupid. And the secret stock of food in the shipping container. I just didn't find any of that storyline interesting really. Season 1 was better, in my humble opinion. But I'll keep watching. Does anyone know if there will be a Season 3??

Whitney Thore: So She Thinks She Can Dance
ShowsILoveToHate replied to Meredith Quill's topic in My Big Fat Fabulous Life
I agree 100% that she didn't care what the message was. She really loves the attention and spotlight and doesn't seem to care how she gets it. She'd have to be more than delusional to think those videos could be positive for her "No BS" campaign; what about the scene in the video where they have the thin women laying on a table and they're (she is) force-feeding the woman a cupcake?!?!?!? "*NO* Body Shame", Whitney??? I think not, you big freaking fat hypocrite! That was definitely not one continuous dance. And it was the same stupid moves over and over and over again that we see as being her "choreography". "Dancer", my big fat Irish ass! She was considerably less overweight in those videos and I doubt she could recreate those videos now, without cutting and editing many dance sessions together. Thank you! Absurd and bizarre are the same thoughts that I had about those videos. Circus-freaks came to my mind, too, during the video where she's wearing the striped black and white shorts. I felt uncomfortable watching too! I felt like I was watching something that I shouldn't be watching. She has no shame, period... body or otherwise! -
Whitney Thore: So She Thinks She Can Dance
ShowsILoveToHate replied to Meredith Quill's topic in My Big Fat Fabulous Life
I'm hoping that this is the correct place to post this... So last night I was Googling for the original "Fat girl dancing" video because I had not seen it before. I found it, but what followed it was truly HORRIFYING! Immediately after the fat girl dancing video finished, a newer "updated" version played so I let it finish playing. The next thing I see is a video with some guy "Fitty - something" (Not Fitty Cent) who is singing and whatnot, and there's good old Whitney dancing/acting alongside him. Then a second video with Fitty-Whoever and her played....this one was even more horrific than the first! Are you guys aware of this?? Boy she really dances "like no one is watching"! She loves herself....which of course is great... but it was just shocking because in parts of the video it came across as making fun of her. My perception, anyway1 Have any of you seen these videos?????? I closed the YouTube tab in the middle of the second video where she was licking frosting from the spatula that an older man/woman (couldn't tell!) was holding out to her... ah... I need brain bleach. P.S. I played them with the sound off. I'm too afraid to rewatch them with the sound on...I think she was singing or lip-syncing in one of them. -
I just checked out the picture on Facebook of her standing on the front porch of the house that I guess she bought, and looking at a still frame of the house that she and Buddy were renting, it's the same house. I wonder if she bought it so that she could kick Buddy out, and have Lenny move in..? It looks like she and Buddy have a little anger exchange on tonight's episode, plus her father brings up the subject of Whitney wanting Lenny to move in. Oh, and I think Buddy is a bartender. At least, that's what I remember it saying beneath his name on the screen. She really has turned into a huge (no pun intended) selfish, self-centered, whiny, nasty jerk. Then again, maybe she has been all along and they're just showing this side of her now. All of the people who are kissing her ass on her FB page make me sick. Not because they want to thank her, or offer her support, or say they enjoy her show, etc, but because they ignore the topics that THE PEOPLE WHO KNOW HER AND SPEND THE MOST TIME WITH HER are so freaking worried about that they went so far as to hold a mock funeral! These "fans" are blocking out the very real and very serious health issues that have her family and friends (except for Lenny and Buddy) scared to death. Having said all that, I don't hate her; I'm rooting for her to succeed in improving her health, especially for her parent's sake.
-
She definitely used the term "crossed the flesh-hold". Yuck. But I thought she said that they hadn't crossed the... ugh, you know what?? You and me both! I just said to my husband that if we spent as much time enriching our minds with good literature as we do on watching other people's bizarre lives, we'd be better off!! LOL (who am I kidding.....we live for this crap! lol) I wish I could back to check, but I could swear that she said that they did everything except for crossing the.... line....(I just can't type that phrase again!). She never mentioned that she had been in love with Buddy until last week, as far as I remember, so that really surprised me.
-
She and Buddy are renting a house together. In light of the fact that she has no real discernable steady income, the likely conclusion is that either she has a contract with TLC and therefore she knows she has money coming in, or TLC is outright paying the rent on it. We'll probably never know, and I don't feel it's especially relevant. It's common knowledge that TLC will pay for their popular "stars" to take vacations, trips, and living accomodations (ie, the Roloff's major home remodel, and the Duggar's huge metal frame home was completed on TLC's dime).

Thanks for the update! I had been wondering when they were due. I hope all are healthy. -
After a very quick Google search I found that Thore Unlimited LLC has trademarks for more than just "Big Girl Dance Class". Here's a link to the trademark search (if this is not allowed then I apologise): http://www.trademarkia.com/company-thore-unlimited-llc-4337361-page-1-2

And right beneath the paragraph that you quoted it says: "Can I start my own Big Girl Dance Class? Big Girl Dance Class is trademarked, so you may not start your own class using the name "Big Girl Dance Class," but Whitney encourages everyone to find a dance class in their area that works for them or even start one of their own, like she did!" I really thought the schedule would be on the dance studio's web site but this is on the nobodyshame web site which is where she sells her book, BS logo items, etc. I wonder if the girl leading the class called it by name "Big Girl Dance Class" or if she just got the girls together for a class...???
