  1. I was a bit disappointed that Joy, who has been to Cuba, didn't try a bit harder to say that the people there are not living in slumps or are doing as bad as Jed said. It kind of gave me flash backs to Trevor Noah's first time on the Daily Show with "This is Africa" segment. Just because we live in a developed nation doesn't mean that everyone is mucking it on the streets. I also think it's hypocritical for Jed to not be diplomatic when it comes to Castro's death, because if say Bush Jr dies and Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, and the other countries that were bombed for no reason say "Yay he's finally gone." She'd be mortified that they are cheering for a man's death, a man who did some really bad things and was responsible for millions of deaths, but a man who was president nonetheless. Granted, it would probably fit her muslims are barbaric type of view, but I think the comparison is kind of there. When you are trying to maintain diplomatic ties to a country that you can't just make statements that Jed wants the president to say. It's illogical, especially since Cuba and the States are only recently trying to get along. Haha, I'm not sure if anyone buys them but since the Real does these sorts of things all the time I started noticing that The View was starting it too.
  2. Every time I see the View Your Deals segments, I keep thinking that they started doing this because of "The Real."
  3. I haven't been watching lately, just clips here and there, but it seems to have gotten worse and not better which is a shame since it is election season and the View was known for always talking about politics. When I'm home and The View is on, I find myself switching the channel to the Real. That show keeps on improving, but the View doesn't. I do hope the View finds its footing though, because it would be a real disappointment if it ended with this lineup.
  4. Maybe it's because I don't like Caleb, unless he's with the twins, but when his mom kept talking about how he was a good kid I just remembered how he antagonized that Mormon kid back in the first episode and didn't feel all that guilty about it. I also don’t get why he feels like it’s his civic duty to reveal people’s secrets. He keeps doing it over and over again and while he may say “I’m sick of people lying” he just makes him a rat and untrustworthy. I’m glad Shelby called him out. It was a long time coming, but knowing her she’ll probably sleep with him again. Did I mention that I don’t like Caleb? Him and Simon are gross, but for different reasons. Caleb, for what I mentioned above and Simon, because he’s a war criminal who went after the twins in a very creepy manner. I also don’t like the back and forth thing with Booth and Alex. The fact that he wrote a song about her and will take time to get over her seems melodramatic. I feel bad for Raina. After the twin reveal the show has favoured Nimah over her, which is a shame because seeing someone who practices Islam and work with the FBI would be an interesting story to tell. Unfortunately, since she practices her religion they can’t really show her when everyone goes out drinking or whatnot. Elijah…Elias? I forget his name, but his voice was annoying and I didn’t really mind him dying. It was a bit anti-climatic, because I don’t think anyone cared about him. I thought the actor was better before, but he was pretty bad here. Looks like Liam and Alex will hook up soon, which is kind of awkward because I feel like he hooked up with her mom. I can imagine him comforting Mrs. Parrish after she was beaten up by her husband. Then the two have sex and Liam runs away, because he seems to enjoy leading women on and bailing on them. I kind of laughed when the bomb blew up somewhere else. The FBI being smart and finding the bomb isn’t going to happen on this show. The agents are much too dumb and Everywhere and the terrorists are smart, albeit on a very basic level. Oh well. The show is back in March, which seems like a really long time to wait for the next part. Hopefully the writing staff gets better or it changes.
  5. I don't think that's really fair. They're free to believe in what they want to believe. The View is meant to have different views and as long as they can agree to disagree, then that's their own prerogative. CCB and Paula have never pushed their religion on anyone, but they have shared their views on things and thoughts on their religion. The only one who doesn't follow the whole 'agree to disagree' thing is Whoopi. I was worried about CCB, but she seems fine. Paula has been a great addition though, despite her Rubio love, she's been great in all of the segments and hasn't let Whoopi bully her around which I love. Truthfully, I think Bitsy (and Sherri in a smaller degree) kind of ruined Christians on this show and made us all worried about what they will say. CCB and Paula may love their faith, but I don't think they've done anything to warrant them being removed from the show or have a split screen. lol. (And I'm saying this as a non-Christian, non Republican Canadian Muslim here).
  6. At Quantico: Miranda: "Your fellow agents are the only ones you can trust. Never turn on them, believe them, and don't turn your backs on them." Real time: Miranda: "We need to spy on your friends who helped you when everyone thought you were guilty, because that's what agents do." o.O That sure makes a lot of sense Miranda. So in the end, Simon was the one who was in the right when he handed in three names because in the real world that is what you'd have to do, because your fellow agents don't really matter all that much. Unless she's the actual terrorist and did this to alienate Alex. It looked like Elijah went from stalker to kidnapper at the end of the show. He must really like Simon. Brandon isn't in the current time, so he's probably going to be the mastermind behind everything. Hmmm, let's see. What if he's actually Charlie's friend who was angry at Miranda for locking her son up. So he went to Quantico to take her down. Only, he decided that going after her favourite student would be the best course of action. In the end, Charlie was always innocent, but Brandon was not. How the FBI didn't know this? Because the FBI on this show...stupid. They're just filled with incompetent people. I feel like this episode did a lot of showing, but not telling. Tons of info dumps, but it didn't flow naturally, because the show writers decided that they created way too many secrets so this would be the best way to reveal them. Only, it came out forced and awkward. Simon going after Arab woman in Gaza and then going after the Wonder Twins (who seem like they should join Anon..Everywhere? Is that what that hacker group is called) seems really shady now. He might be attracted to them, but the backstory does make it creepy. But seriously, Nimah and Raina are the only competent agents in the FBI. They clearly don't belong with the organization and should just join the hackers.
  7. Neil deGrasse Tyson is always entertaining to watch. I didn't catch his full interview, but what I did watch was fine. I've noticed that the View is trying to do the same thing that the Real does when it comes to these cheap finds, but maybe that's because whenever I catch the View I switch it to the Real. They've toned it down a lot from their initial run and their level of campiness is fun to watch. That being said, I've noticed that the View is starting to take certain things that they do and bringing it on the view in an effort to gain more of the 'young' viewers.
  8. Wait, what? I'm confused as to how this is a solution to anything.
  9. I think I missed something, but why was Liam a drunk all of a sudden? I was disappointed that he didn't go see Miranda, considering that she got shot and it was allegedly by her son. I also don't get why Ryan was so testy. He lied about a lot of things and Alex lied about one thing and he's ready to break up? The girls on this show are way too forgiving of the guys and the guys are just jerks. Liam gets Miranda to leave her husband, only he gets cold feet when she's available. Caleb's dad is cheating on his wife with his son's former girlfriend. Caleb rated Shelby out to the FBI, sabotaged her assignment and is now spying on her. Booth was spying on Alex the entire time and then leaves her hanging in the end of the episode. He also lied to his current girlfriend, Nathalie, who I'm going to assume is someone he'd cheat on with Alex in a heartbeat. Elijah was so determined to bang Simon that he decided to expose him and get a pity kiss in return. And Simon...the moment the twins back off he decides that he's done with the FBI. The Anne Heche syringe kind of sealed the deal. Seriously though, why would he leak information like that anyways? No one likes a rat and whistleblowers are not looked on favourably. Having a superhero complex is one thing, but there are protocols in place for them. *sigh* The guys here are all jerks except for Brandon, but he's hardly around to begin with so.... Overall, I felt like the episode was okay. Not as bad as the other ones, but there were definitely times when it felt like there was a timeskip or something because I was confused at some of the things that happened here. Technically, it makes perfect sense considering how this show keeps telling Alex to do things that make her look guilty. We saw it before with Booth and Simon, who somehow convinced her that she needed to make herself look guilty even though she isn't guilty. Since she's with FBI now, she can't 'look' the part anymore, she has to act the part. ...it doesn't really make much sense, but I'm going to assume that by saying she's guilty would mess up the plans of the actual terrorist.
  10. I find that the show will mention a topic coming up, only it never does. That happened with the "Would you convert" question, only it took place on another episode. Since the lesbian question was brought up as a preview, I think they'll discuss it sometime next week.
  11. I'm fairly certain that he kissed Raina, since Nimah doesn't really want anything to do with him and wouldn't kiss him if she had the choice.
  12. So in Quantico, Alex was framed by the terrorists. In real life....I see what you did show, but really? If you're trying to not be suspicious, then is white wires sticking out of your ears kind of going against that? Especially since all of the girls, minus Nimah, left their hairs up instead of trying to hide the wires. When Booth and Simon were arguing, I was confused as to how anyone bought that. Their wires weren't that hard to see. I don't get why Shelby still likes Caleb when every episode it shows us how horrible he is. He's a bit better in the future, but bleh. I did find it funny that both he and Nathalie immediately turned in the person that they love. At least with Nathalie, there was another woman. But Caleb? Because Shelby lied about who called her? Even after his story, I kind of wished Shelby just said "I'm sorry you went through that, but what you did to me...I just can't be with you." Caleb and his dad are horrible. I found it funny that Miranda said that she knows all of her trainees' secrets. lol. It seems like this show is telling us that if you want to save the world, going to Quantico is the wrong thing to do. Becoming a hacker is the best thing. Those guys have so many skills lol. Booth...someone really needs to get him some medical attention. Alex isn't a doctor and might have caused some serious damage to him. Is Simon going to be a bad guy now? And the only reason he decided to go this route is because he can't get anymore loving from the twins? Quantico and the FBI really need to have a strict no relationship rule in place. It seems like nothing happens unless there's a romantic twist to it. Liam and Alex's mom probably hooked up, which was the reason why her dad did some shady stuff too.
  13. I agree with them about the cups, but someone really needs to tell Whoopi to stop mentioning Ramadan when talking about the holidays during the Christmas Season. Ramadan was in the summer this year and won't be back in the winter for another couple of years.
  14. The last assignment they did, Simon failed and was put on probation. Why is it different this time around? I don't understand this school and why the rules keep changing. Seems unfair to the extras. Plus, if there's a bomb, then isn't it better to save your life so you can serve your country another day? If everyone died, then they'll have to train another group of adults, who act like high school kids, and I don't think there's another group of people who would be able to handle this kind of training. I mean, everything is illogical. They'll probably run to off to the CIA or something and then that would be it of Quantico.... I think Raina is the more conservative one who likes Simon, but isn't as good as Nimah who doesn't really care about the FBI as much as her sister. At least, I think so? The ending made no sense. I thought Nathalie would try to help Booth, but maybe she felt so guilty about the raid that she let him run off with Alex where he could potentially bleed to death? Maybe this was her sacrifice for the greater good? Only, Booth could very well die, but it's for the country so it's okay.
  15. I'd love it if they brought up Whoopi's rant on Viola Davis' emmy speech.
  16. I agree with this, not only with the issue about Candy Crush, but with a lot of what she says. She grew up with stardom and privileged, so she can't really connect with some of the topics that are going on because she never really thought of them before. When they were talking about the police officer throwing the kid around, she was very much pro-cop, which seems weird since she's black and most would assume that she'd understand the plight of black people. But she doesn't, because even though she is a minority there's still a bit of privileged there. With Candy Crush....I've never played it, because the idea of paying money for lives seems stupid. But I've played the mock offs and they were fun. I don't really care of the president or prime minister plays it though. Just to add, I thought it was funny that Sherri was the only one who understood Paula's point about the debate not asking proper questions. Whoopi went on a rant about candidates not answering hard questions, which wasn't the point. Michelle just talked about candidates dropping out, which is true. Raven...just talked about Candy Crush.
  17. I never felt like the show was akin to a teen drama, but this episode definitely felt that way. The biggest thing I'm confused about is that these people are FBI and yet they act so unprofessional. The lying and secrets are one thing, but none of them do their job and they all bring their personal life into their work. Caleb searching for his dad when there's a terrorist out on the loose is stupid. Miranda getting the class to spy on her son, whether warranted or not, is stupid. The students talking about having sex in class is unprofessional. Nimah twins saying they should fail the assignment so they can spend some time with Simon, when they know that Miranda is trigger happy in getting rid of them if they mess up, is stupid. I'm starting to understand why Alex is having such an easy time hiding behind clear windows. I was kind of hoping that Miranda's son was framed and the person who framed him is now framing Alex. That would have been more interesting and would make Miranda's switcharoo in the first episode make a lot more sense.
  18. Is Barbara going to be there all day, or only for the guest spot? Either way, I'm probably going to pass on Monday since The Real has Rachel Dolezal on the show then. I'll be there for Tuesday though.
  19. Did Whoopi just say that Rob Ford was the former PM? *sigh* I shouldn't be surprised, but Rob Ford was never the Prime Minister of Canada. He was just the mayor of Toronto. He did smoke crack, but only when mayor. Stephen Harper was PM. As for the burqa thing. As a Muslim, I kind of hate it when non-Muslims talk about what we wear, whether it be hijab, niqab, jilbab, or burqa. Not out of hatefulness or whatever, but because no one really asks us how we feel about it. Tons of articles are written with people saying, "This isn't fair for the women." or that they're forced, etc... And while hijab is the bare minimum, the niqab is seen as extra reward but if you don't do it then you don't have to. For the burqa, I have no idea, but some women do it because they want to get closer to God. So I kind of liked that Trump was saying why do we have to care about this when the women want to do it. The makeup thing was stupid, since there are tons of Muslims that still wear it, but I did like that he said that. There are places where more women wear the niqab and burqa, but if you're in a society where everyone wears it then you're more inclined to do it. It's liked ripped jeans, or skinny jeans, or baggy jeans lol. I have friends and family who live in Saudi and they don't wear the niqab and only the hijab, so it's not really forced on you. But even then it doesn't really matter. I just wish this sort of topic would stop happening. What someone wears isn't anyone's business.
  20. Just watched it today since I had the day off and immediately turned it off when Whoopi was wagging her finger at Paula. I get they have opposing views and I'm all for discussions, but the way Whoopi went about it was incredibly disrespectful and demeaning. That's not how to have a civil discussion with someone. I did appreciate Joy being calm and explaining the table's view to Paula, but then Whoopi went crazy again.
  21. So if a guy makes it his mission to be a douche to you and sabotage a class assignment, then the best course of action is to have sex with him? There's nothing charming about what Caleb is doing to Shelby and the fact that he just mentions a quickie and she readily agrees makes them both look bad. Have some self respect Shelby. Caleb seems to only be okay when he's with the twins, otherwise he's horrible. Miranda is stupid. Elias is super creepy and seemed to believe Simon incredibly easy at the end. If someone is lying about everything, then why trust their excuse when that could be a lie as well? If the twins believe that Simon is gay and has a boyfriend, why would they try to get closer to him in a romantic-esqe way? I did like Alex's mosque plan. Compared to everything else that was the smartest thing she's done.
  22. I thought thursday's episode was fantastic and had more than a few laugh out loud moments. He seems less nervous now and found his groove, which is why this is a perfect time for a break. Oh well. He's getting better, so I'm happy.
  23. A lot better this week. I still find it odd that last week they were taught to depend on each other, only for it to get thrown out the window now since everyone is turning on each other. Booth left his phone on in the final scene with CougarTown, does that mean that he's working undercover with Miranda? I was surprised that Nimah opened the door without her hijab. Even if she only saw Miranda through a peep hole (?) most Muslims quickly put something on. When I was younger I opened the door because I saw one of my female classmates. I didn't have a hijab on, because I thought she was only there. Nope...her boyfriend was standing right beside her and saw everything. I believe it was the guy he kissed back in the first episode.
  24. I think it's great that Hayley and Klaus had that fight, but I can't wait for them to move past their differences and become proper co-parents to Hope. They both grew up in horrible situations and want to do right by their daughter, but they both keep hurting her by being stubborn. It makes sense why they're acting like children, but they both need to grow up for the sake of Hope. They want the other in Hope's life, but they're idiots and don't know how to communicate properly. It's easy to blame the other for whatever wrongdoings they do, but they need to put Hope first and come to some common ground. I've been loving Davina this season. She's been overpowered since we first met her and she's use to using force to get what she wants, so even though she tries to act like she's not a killer she is. But at the same time, she's still just a kid. (Only a few years younger than Hayley at that) and she can only use what she's been taught to lead the witches. She's going to crash and burn, but it's going to be an awesome ride. I don't see any sparks between the dectective and Cami, but I do like him so far. I'm just worried that by mentioning Kieran, he's foreshadowed his death. :( Klaus really doesn't like seeing his sisters get chummy with other guys. lol. Elijah was beautiful when he threw the chair/table (?) piece at Lucian. Elijah is always better when he's like this and not some love sick puppy. Since we got to see Celeste's grave, I'm hoping she comes back so he can be with her and stop pining after a married woman. It's...unsightly. Great episode. It was better than last week, so hopefully the writers don't screw things up and keep the momentum going.
  25. I just saw some of Monday's episode and had a chuckle when Whoopi said, "Have a good Christmas, Chanukkah, and Ramadan." after they discussed Hilary Clinton. The part that made me laugh was the Ramadan part, because it's currently taking place in the summer now. It's been many years since the three holidays were happening at the same time.
