I like Cade. But they ruined a great song. It was almost unrecognizable. Took the magic out of it. Not good.

So here is what annoys me about Ada Vox.... you came on the show and didn't make it a few seasons back. Now you come back and say this is who you really are and do better. Then you lose the make up and say now this is who you really are. Which is it? Nobody else gets to create a character to conveniently use when you they need a gimmick. It's not exactly fair. Also, you can sing really well. So just sing. Anyway, that bothers me a bit. Just seems like a pc loophole. Jurnee for the win.

Ok the whole revenge on Randy thing is such absolute bullshit. Kristin came at him like a horny...well, horse I guess. She led him to a private spot and instigated the whole thing. Now she's the victim? Fuck you! This is some "me too" inspired bullshit and it's getting tired. Other than that, definitely digging this show. Another self absorbed previlaged family from Alan Ball. Good stuff.

Some individual thoughts on contestants: Red: don't care Adam: dude comes off as product to me. Doesn't seem genuine at all. Not a fan. Shi An(or whatever way you spell it): she's got a voice but she is being utilized incorrectly. She clearly can't pull these songs off and Jennifer has placed her in this teenage diva box. Stop it. Give her something tender and slow in the lane of "Somewhere over the Rainbow" in the style of Kathryn McPhee. She needs to work on enunciation and let her voice grow. She can belt and scream later in life. She will be amazing some day. Kiesha: she's sweet and she can sing but she also comes off as ingenuine. Saying you wanna be a country singer doesn't make you one. She's great, she can do whatever she wants but it feels forced. Davon: he's not nearly as good as he or the show thinks he is. Always off key. And again, he's being boxed as a male diva belter. It's not great. It's not terrible. But it's not great. Noah: kid has crazy charisma and is creative as all hell. But he's not an amazing singer. He loses his breath often when he goes for it. It feels incomplete and his key is off a lot too. He's a great entertainer. He has an awesome lower register and he will be great some day but he needs some work. He's becoming Dalton-esque. Chloe: she's kinda amazing. I really dig her. I wanna hear her do "Black Velvet." Ashland: a decent bar karaoke singer. Brooke: she's got a killer voice. I'd say the best in a singing competition in a long time. That said, she is not being utilized correctly. All her song choices are scattered and they don't mesh with who she is. Her audition and battle were great. Amazing grace sounded awesome on her but it was pandering and it's a way over done and manipulative song choice. She needs songs that feel genuine and that show off the clear tone she has in a better way. Some Kelly Clarkson would be nice on her. Still the best voice there by a mile. Addison: complete opposite situation as Brooke. She's awesome and her song choices are perfect for her. Download all the studio versions and listen to them together. Sounds like her album. She has a clear idea of who she is and her songs reflect it. It's relatable and I feel like I know her. That said, Brooke could easily pass her up if she could find that groove that Addison has but until then, Addison is my pick to win. Other thoughts: Miley really messed up this season. Should have kept Chloe and Addison and should have kept Moriah and Karly over Ashland and Janice who while is great was clearly not going far. Her type never does. Her only real chance now is Brooke. jennifer should have kept Chris over Davon. Chloe, Brooke, Noah and Addison would be a likely final 4.
-
Noah Brooke Emily chris for the final. Brooke deserves to take this. She is Kelly Clarkson good.

Yeah I though that that too which is why I watched it again. If he was searching so hard for clues then seeing brandon spray paining the towel should have tipped him off. I suppose he just edited it that way for dramatic effect but to me it came off as sloppy. As for the beer, yeah. I peel my labels the same way every time while I'm fri king them because it's a fidgety habit.
-
Huge continuity error in this episode. Peter says he's been through the footage of the nigh over and over again looking for clues. And eventually he notices plaid dude holding the can going down the stairs. Yet then they go on to several different moments of footage with the can in footage that he supposedly had already been through over and over looking for clues. Sloppy writing folks.

Is anyone else getting really tired of hearing Cyrus and Fikshun yelling "Let's go!" Where did that come from anyway? Is that what the kids are saying these days?
-
Pretty sure we're looking at a Hunter/Lauren showdown in the end with Brennley and Chris being the other two. Someone else mentioned it before but I agree that win or lose, Lauren will most likely experience the most lost show success of anyone who has been on the show. She perfectly fits the successful country formula but has an authenticity and tone that go a step above the usual offerings. But then again I said that about Sawyer so who knows.
-
I would have responded to you the same way. Why should he care what you think? Don't you think he's tired of hearing that same criticism? Clearly if he isn't hanging it he has no intention to. You're just another annoying bug in his ear. Nothing against you but that is how he viewed your email. Just sayin'

The main thing I took away from this episode is how much people are looking for an answer and clutching to it when they "find it" Sr's story about the tape and Itsy Bitsy Spider is such a stretch that when hearing it you think he's nuts. But he believes it so much. It's as if he needs to hear something just as crazy to snap out of it. Then he does. Grace also needs to cling to something and sees him showing up in that spot at the cross as a sign and goes so far as to kill a man based on a hand written page in his hand. It's bonkers. Batshit. Which is what Kev sr should have taken from her story. But no. She had the wrong kevin. Everyone this season is so desperately trying to find their answer except for Kevin jr. he was told he is the new Jesus and just doesn't want it. So he probably is.
-
So everyone keeps saying how Kevin is losing it because he saw Evie. I thought that too. Until Kevin sr. showed up at the end. They were communicating through the tv again, just in a different way. Jr couldnt turn the tv off because he needed to see his father on the screen to pay attention. That's when he saw Evie. Then the tv wouldnt come back on so he physically went there to stand in the spot that he saw Evie so that Sr could see him and come to find him. While Neither Kevin is really sound of mind, it was confirmed by Sr's story about the hotel room that they really did communicate through the tv in secret agent even if he doesn't recall it. They clearly have a connection that some force is making happen. So I think seeing Evie simply forced Jr to be in the right place at the right time.

I really feel that utilizing a twitter only save situation is completely bogus and deminishes the already laughable integrity of their voting process? Do you have a twitter account? I don't. If it can't be an all method process then they should get rid of the save altogether and just eliminate the lowest vote getter. More seasons than not, some undeserving untalented young male with mild teen girl appeal does this. It's pretty annoying. Mark sucks. He does. He even knows he does. Adam likes him more than he likes himself. It's embarrassing. Stephanie wasn't amazing in that save song but she is miles better than Mark and a few others there and she's actually interesting. She will be fine. This was a huge boost to her self esteem and I believe she will benefit greatly from this exposure. Mark will never be heard from again as soon as he's off the screen. And again, here I am complaining over a reality show which means nothing. I need a hobby. And a beer.
-
For me the most annoying thing about these eliminations is how uneven team building and pair ups cause great singers to be eliminated while barely passable ones make it through. Neither Mark or Anatalia should be in at this point and others should be that are gone. I suppose the comeback thing next week might help that issue but if one team is particularly bad then we get half of those and half of a good team. It's lame. But why am I even complaining about this? I am a grown ass man watching a reality singing competition. I should look deeper within.

I'm beginning to think that Dar is really not a baddy at all but more under someone else's thumb to get these things done and that his slip ups like Javadi's phone and calling the hitman on the open line were intentional clues left for the others so that they can unravel the plot without him tipping off whoever has him in their grasp. His telling Carrie to back down not so much a threat but a heads up, shits fucked sorta thing. If he was really all bad why put forth the effort to help Quinn and I did feel he was being genuine in his words to Quinn before he got punched. It just seems like something bigger is at play here and I still can't get a grasp on Dar's motivations. Lack of villain motivation is a huge pet peeve of mine so it's not sitting right. Just speculation of course. Also, I love his season.

While Aaron was singing the Bryan Adams song I couldn't stop thinking how wrong it was for him. Then while Brendan was singing Angel I really thought that was wrong. Then my absolute favorite performance of the night, Ali and Brendan Doing the Tina turner/Bryan Adams song, it hit me how perfect "everything I do..." would have been for Brendan. I really dig that guy. Big time.

Almost everyone was terrible. I think the pacing and weird format had a lot to do with that. No time to breathe. All of the belters stood out, of course. Simone got shafted but at least Riley didn't make it. His cheeseball act is tired. Billy can sing, sure, but he seems so fake and produced. I can't get on board. Brenden, however, I feel the opposite about. He seems so real and raw and sexy af. Josh G. Was obviously going through. He's handsome and he's country. No brainer. He was pretty good too. Courtney was painful. Dana was too so that was a toss up but I'd have chosen Dana as she probably had some rich, haunting performance coming up whereas Courtney will continue to scream at us and eventually go away. Austin and Sundance bore me. Aaron sucked bad tonight but I like him. Ali is cookie cutter. Darby is as fake as it gets. Your voice does not sound like that. Stop it. Christian was great. I don't really like him but that was good. We wasn't great tonight but she will most likely win this thing. She is pretty awesome. Sarayah is a thing to marvel at. Pure show. I kinda dig it. She's like an action movie. Very entertaining and loud but not making anyone feel anything. Best for me were Brenden, Josh G., Simone. Final 4 prediction: We, Sundance, Billy, Josh G. final 2: We, Billy with We winning.
-
Josh vs. Aaron was by a milllion miles the best, in my humble opinion, battle/knockout of any season I've seen. No bullshit screeching. Pure, honest grit and perfection. Gave me hope for shows like this.

I think the cat is an important part of what really happened. Andrea put the cat out because Naz is allergic. He was still out when John let him in and he got all cuddly. He clearly was waiting to be let in, implying that there was no window for him to climb in. But then later, when John went back to the house to look around, the cat was back outside which is when he took him to the shelter. So, who let the cat out again? Cops I suppose but it seemed significant to me. Someone else was going into Andrea's house. John is going to realize this all of a sudden, probably when he calls the shelter to find out the cat has been put down or claimed by the owner, Andrea's killer. Ok that's a stretch but who knows. Of course the ultimate ending to this would be to find out Naz really did do it.

Things I am liking: Tate. She is pretty much perfect. She should and probably will win this. She is a few steps above the other good ones and shouldn't even be on the same show as the others. The Ruby/Jordan pairing. I really liked both of their numbers. They are quite talented. I'd say the best two behind Tate. The JT/Robert dynamic. It's really captivating almost in a lion king kind of way. It seems so genuine. The Emma/Gabby dynamic. It's adorable. It may not be amazing but it's damn adorable and makes me smile. Kathryn/Tate. Very powerful pairing that should take the whole thing. Sasha/Jordan. Second most powerful pairing that I'd be happy to see take the whole thing. Things I am not liking: standing ovations. Just stop it. We get it, they're kids. Stop handing out trophies for showing up. It's cheesy as can be. Maddie whatever. Useless. Why is she there? Can she say a sentence without amazing or you guys in it? She's really upping the cheese factor. Plugging ice age like it has anything to do with the show. Now we have spam on the show. Lovely. Paul/Ruby. She's great. I like him. The two together is beyond creepy and I'm surprised it's allowed. JT without Robert. Kid is a mess of flapping arms and weird hip swinging. It just isn't good. At all. Kida's overratedness. He's not that good. Why is everyone pretending he's that good? Shaedon. Jake. Other thoughts: Jonathan is so damn sexy. I'm sad he's done. Tahani is boring but has potential. Jenna looks like she might slash your tires if you cross her. Twitch is so much better than Jason. burritos are delicious.

S13.E06: The Next Generation: Top 10 Perform
Adusk81 replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in So You Think You Can Dance
Tate and Jordin are fantastic. They temind me of Melanie vs Sasha in their season. Far and away better than the rest of the pack. Ruby and Paul was about as awkward to watch as anything can be. JT and Robert made me tear up a tad. I forget everything else. -
S13.E05: The Next Generation: Academy #2
Adusk81 replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in So You Think You Can Dance
A lot to be annoyed about here. First off, too many all stars picking little versions of themselves over better dancers. Not sure what comfort was smoking but it seemed like she picked her worst option. Same with fikshun. Sasha made the right choice it was just convenient that Jordan is mini Sasha. Tate was the obvious choice and by far the best dancer of this entire group. JT is clearly producer shenanigans for the tiny person cuteness factor. Sage was the clear best male contemporary dancer. But the most annoying part for me is the voice style format of all stars each picking one when half of them I never remember seeing and other great dancers get cut. Avery, Quinn, Sophia, sage and a few others should have been put through to lives over many of these kids who I can't remember at all. I suppose it's probably because if they plan on continuing this format next year, they will need to cast those standouts then. Makes sense but it's still annoying. All in all, Tate for the win. -
The idiocy that is Kevin almost ruins this show for me. He needs to be sedated and locked away. It's maddening watching him be the mess that he is.
-
That all makes sense but it's still a bit over the top and really expensive if that's all they needed him for. I'm expecting that we will find out they had him do more.
-
So here is what's bothering me. Why would they pay frank all that money just to plant a bug? Makes no sense. They could have paid a maid $100 to do it. Or just picked the lock and done it themselves. There is more to it than that. I'm guessing they paid him to be more involved than we've seen on screen yet. Maybe he was driving the vehicle that crashed into her. I mean they don't always explain motives properly until way later on(why frank would kill Lyla, why wes' mom would off herself) either that or I missed something.
