22 really is Nyle's lucky number. Dude just won season 22. Again. Good for him. Sexy bastard.

A musician who doesn't at least create some of their own material is less valid artistically than one who does. If you don't create your own music at all then you are merely presenting product. Whether we find it to be "good" or not is irrelevant. If you wanna be a singer but have no songs of your own then you're an entertainer, not an artist. Which is fine. Be what you want to be. I'm just saying that compared to the others who write and feel their songs deeply, you're going to fall short. Same can be sad for any other type of art. If you don't create it yourself, you are not an artist. Simply because you have a nice voice isn't enough. If you have a desire to cook and claim to be a chef them microwave a stouffers lasagna, you're not a chef.

Ok tonight really solidified my issue with Hannah. While she is very pretty and has a great voice, she is no artist by any means. the other 3 all presented songs that were personal and meant something to them. They were not written for the show. They were from moments in their lives. I didn't love them but that's not the point. Then there is Hannah who basically admitted she's never written a song. Maybe she has, who knows but instead of showing creativity or originality she let pharrell throw together some void of substance, pop by numbers, repetitive Beyoncé b-side garbage. That was just terrible. What a waste of opportunity. You're in the finale with 3 people who know without a doubt who they are as artists. Show up or go home. Hannah, sadly chose not to show up. Laith for the win. It won't happen but one can hope.

Anyone else catch that Brian and Stewie were in the screened in side porch in one scene. I always wonder why we never see a scene in there. It's just the mysterious, unutilized part of the house we always see from the outside.

The Sansa/Jon reunion made me stand up and cheer. And then cry a tiny bit. Whatever get off my back.

This episode gave me goosebumps more than once. I love this show so much. And I auve never read the books. It saddens me that the books I actually did read, the shannara books got turned into the worse possible show imaginable. Man if only HBO could have snagged up that series too.

I'm sorry but doing slowed down versions of 2 songs from the same album 2 nights in a row is just lazy. Also, you didn't revolutionize "I wanna dance with somebody" we saw Mackenzie bourg do almost the same thing with the song a month or so ago. We've seen countless "indie artists" do the slow down pop song thing and it's pretty tired at this point.

The Shannara Chronicles - General Discussion
Adusk81 replied to Lisin's topic in The Shannara Chronicles
The true breakout performance of this show was indeed Ander's beautiful butt. Man it was like the camera just kept finding it every chance it got. That was the highlight of this show that has raped my childhood. The magic of these books was everything to 13 year old me. This show just pissed all over it. But at least I had that big beautiful butt to look at. -
It definitely started in mid 2015 but by now they're are at least around Christmas. Liam also mentioned San Bernardino which happened in December 2015.

I'm not saying she isn't good at all. She can sing. But if you ask her what she does she will say she's a teacher and she likes to sing. If you ask Laith he will say he's a musician. When the show is over Hannah will go back to being a teacher and reflect on that one time she was on a tv show. Laith will continue being a bad ass musician. But yes, to each their own. And I do think her version of Rolling in the Deep was of the better ones I've seen on singing competition shows. Better than expected for sure.
-
Really?? If that's true then she should have been looking for him, not trying to figure out who her parents were. Whatever like this show ever makes sense anyway.

Maybe it's because this show has been on for a few years now or maybe it's because it is so busy but how was it again that Emma gave up Henry? This episode really solidified how important it was for Emma to know where she came from and even went as far as to show she thought everyone deserves that by tracking down the girl and telling her about her mom. So then a couple years later she had a kid and gives him up? Is that really what happened or am I forgetting something? Because if it is then that's a pretty big hole in Emma's character plot line and development. You would think she would do her best to make sure her own child never has to go through that. On another note, clearly tlk was real between Hades and Zelena which means Hades really does love her. BUT, I really hope it's an obsessive, vengeful love. Like you delayed my quest for revenge and denied my feelings. I love you but you will suffer sort of thing. Then of course Regina will rescue zelena and Hades will die. This means there will be a new lord of the underworld. Hook. And he will free everyone in the river of lost souls. Or some shit.

Laith is kinda rocking my world right now. I forget who it was, maybe Dave Grohl said in an interview regarding singing competition shows that it doesn't resonate with most contestants because they're just kids who wanna be singers. You have to put in the work. You have to try and fail. You have to keep playing in bars and showing up to empty venues. The spectrum of hannah to Laith is clear. She's a pretty girl with a nice voice who wants to be a singer. That doesn't make anyone feel anything and that is why she falls flat. Laith has been sweating through this for a very long time and had earned his keep and it flows from him purely. Hard work, heartbreak, talent. He's the real deal. I dig this guy big time. And that guitar tho.

Sorry, shalyah. God is not going to solve your problems or anyone else's. Maybe instead of that ridiculous, contrived and also untrue answer, you could have thanked your tutors, family, and others who help you through it. God? Please grow up kid.

Do terrible things your whole life. Repent and you go to heaven. Sounds familiar.

If you've ever been to Venice beach or Vegas and seen a street performer try to get a crowd all full of energy, promising he's about to eat glass or walk on coals yet keeps changing the subject or asking a crowd member about his or her self, adding to the build up, at some point it becomes clear he's never going to do this amazing act and people start walking away even tho they have already put a dollar in his hat. This show is that guy. Twist, turn, fake out. Come on. Eat the damn glass already.

Nobody likes originality or creativity in this day and age so why be surprised that the only two singers who have any at all were the bottom two. Sigh.

I can't figure out why I still watch this show. With the the exception of zelena, everyone just delivers their lines. The is no real connection. It's all so forced and not the least bit believable. Please stop saying hero. Please. It's so childish. I wanna be a hero. You can still be a hero. It's like saying we should start a band. We're gonna be big rock stars some day. This half season is terrible. We're gonna go to the underworld. Oh it's just storybrooke with red tint and weird half missle looking vents everywhere that looks like an old duke nookem video game. It really seems like the writers show up, rearrange stories that have already been done, change some names, throw the words hero and happy ending and true loves kiss in there and the. Take a long lunch. I almost feel like it's a running gag. Like they're laughing at us saying can you believe they're still watching this crap? The first few seasons were fun. This is garbage.

Not really sure why there isn't more coach intervention with some of these song choices. Mary and Hannah both should have been told "no. That song is not for you." Mary doesn't have the voice to take on Carrie underwood and Hannah came off cheesy and amateurish. They are both good singers and could have benefited from some better song choice guidance. I'd say the same about Paxton and Bryan but they bore me to death so I don't care. Alisan is amazing but if she could tone it down just a tad I feel like she would be even better. Shalya had a killer voice and really has the koryn Hawthorne arc going but she also needs to tone it down. The way Kelly does that song is so moving and it just didn't come across even close to that here. It's like Adam is telling her to compete with Alisan by over singing everything and Christina is telling Alisan to counter attack, thus losing some of the more tender moments of these songs. They're both great tho and I fully expect them and Wakefield to be in finale with the fourth being either Hannah or Mary if they can get their shit together. Also, Nick needs to bounce like yesterday. His white boy thug shtick is so beyond tired. Almost as bad as Daniel and his cheese whiz all over the stage act.

Gotta say I'm surprised Laith got voted through. It's pretty cool to see that the public appreciates what he has to offer. He represents the every man bar gig with great talent that never reaches the next level. Good for him. He did an awesome job on Tuesday and deserves his spot. Would be nice if Caroline and Katie could some how snatch up nick and Daniel's spots as neither of them deserve to be there. Not that any of this will matter after Alison wins and we never hear from any of them ever again aside from guest spots on future seasons.

It was the way she said it. She implied that Justin bieber IS indie or alternative. She said by her song choice she hoped people would be able to tell what kind of artist she wants to be. I suppose maybe she meant that based on her version of the song but who knows. I think my main complaint with her is that I still can't tell if she's a good singer. Two weeks in a row she's chosen a song the doesn't showcase ability. They have both been pretty monotone and boring. I don't think those songs would have stuck if she had any other coach. Pharrell is just useless. I'm glad he's gone next season. And yes, I agree with you that Daniel would be much worse to move on. He is just about as bland as it gets.
-
"Im really drawn to indie and alternative music." So here's some Justin Bieber..... I'm starting to think Moushumi isn't that bright. That's two terrible song choices in a row. At this point I just want her to go away.
-
Was nice to see Justin again. Sadly, that wasn't memorable enough to get the votes he would need to advance. I dig his whole hipster country thing which is odd considering I don't like country or hipsters. It probably has more to do with how good he makes a pair of pants look. I could watch him walk away all day. Katie is really good. She sounds a lot like Carrie underwood. Again, not a style I like but you have to recognize talent. I'd say she's much better than Mary Sarah but doubt she'd get chosen over her. Adam, even though having a far superior voice, personality and general demeanor, is getting dangerously close to Barrett Baber territory with us never understanding what he's saying. That gets old quickly. Hopefully he can work on that better because after being called out on it I still couldn't understand him. Great voice tho. Nick is like the leftover guy from the boy band era that didn't get the memo that it's over. He's not good. At all. Bryan is awesome. He is the best of the 3 r&b guys and will be the only one standing after the next round(from Monday's show) unless Joe beats out Katie which should not happen. Or if Katie beats out Mary Sarah which probably won't happen. Kata is karaoke. Has been from day one. It's boring. Ryan seems smug. Good voice. No soul. He goes through the motions. It's not engaging. Alison is winning this season. The hate she is getting is simply coming from people who have to hate a good thing. She amazing. She's the best singer this show has had In a long time. She's not my favorite but she is the superior vocalist. Congratulations in advance, Alison. Also, who cares who wins? Why care at all? It's a tv show. It has never been more than that and it never will be. I don't recall hearing a single hit from anyone that has ever been on this show. Have I looked for their music? No. But if it hasn't randomly found me ever, that should tell you something. It's a tv show, not a ticket to stardom. Kelly and Carrie cashed that in long ago and that's all she wrote. End rant.

exactly what I mean. Trent is like a caricature of that dude. Although that dude is pretty good looking.
-
No but really, Trent looks and sounds like a caricature of an actual singer. It seems so fake and cartoony to me. No way is he really as naive as he pretends to be. Just rubs me the wrong way. And that voice, dude just sing a damn song. Every time he sings it's like a cat is dying in my alley. Laporsha is far superior and that's not my opinion, it's a fact. If you disagree, you're wrong. Plain and simple. In case anyone can't tell I'm kidding about being so serious about it. All of our opinions are right. And wrong. Congrats Trent. Now we will never hear from you again.
