  1. Well, they film in Toronto where you're more likely to find people speaking any other of the world's languages - Toronto's not a hot-bed for the Francophones. However, a Hannibal scene (or scenes!) with Hugh and Mads both speaking French for whatever reason is something I can really get behind!
  2. Saw this tweet from Think Geek, made me think of Hannibal (because of the instrument).
  3. Kalliste, I'd go one further and say just start at Nine and catch up with all New Who. But perhaps starting with Eleven will ignite a passion to go back to Nine.
  4. Exactly my thoughts. It's classic Sherlock that he miscalculated the emotions involved in the story he chose to tell anyway.
  5. Our house heard GMC, and rewound it several times to verify. Paige was pretty snarky out of the gate, so we were a bit indignant about Alex asking for clarification, because he doesn't always. Some friends and I watched an episode where a woman gave a response but he misheard her because of her accent. The next person rang in "correctly" but basically repeated what she said while over-enunciating. We thought for sure it would be corrected after the commercial break, but it wasn't. That contestant was visibly enraged the rest of the show, and lost. Good job, Andrea - it was fun watching you and I'm glad you went out strong on that FJ
  6. That is very interesting, I didn't know about the light - although, admittedly I am not a super hard-core Jeopardy enthusiast. I just like to play along at home. Good game, Andrea!
  7. I feel like Seamus was referencing the complaints made of his own show with that tweet, myself.
  8. I guessed Cuba, because I thought someone who retired in 1979 would have done things in his career before that time, like Tabasco Cat did.
  9. Vulture tweeted this article called "The 2013-14 TV Season in One Really, Really Depressing Chart". It shows Hannibal with a 39% decline. The small print is:
  10. I don't understand why Boo - who seems to be a prison vet and smarter than your average bear - would reveal her info on Red to Vee so early in the game. I'm disappointed in so many characters as this season moves along. Tastee, come on now with the drugs! Gah.
  11. It drives me nuts when Alex is all smarmy-correcty with the contestants. You don't need to be a complete asshole to people, man. He's gotten worse with time, too.
  12. I watched Piper open that disconnect box and the safety person in me nearly had a heart attack. LEFT HAND RULE!! Thankfully no work had been done on the place since - when was it? - 2004? I loved Pennsatucky hugging Healy - awww.
  13. I watched Hugh Dancy in "Adam" last night and really enjoyed it. I felt it was a sweet movie. One of my favourite books of the last few years was "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime" and I enjoyed seeing some parallels between Adam and Christopher (from the book) and their Asbergers. I also saw some of Will's mannerisms in Adam as well. I checked Wikipedia and saw the film didn't get great reviews or make back its budget but i thought it was a nice story and Hugh did well in the role. His American accent is spot on in the film as well.
  14. Aw, I only just responsed to the E2 thread how I liked Poussey and Tastee's friendship. I am pissed at the subversive techniques Vee is using.
  15. As mentioned upthread - this show would still be a blast without Piper. Tastee and Poussey are fantastic buds, I loved their friendship last year, too.
  16. I've been reading the TWoP forums using the Wayback Machine, and came across someone's recommendation to watch Hugh Dancy in The Big C. Well, thanks very much for that because Will with a buzz cut basically makes my day/week/etc.
  17. This, so much. The scene where he is standing behind Beverly in the basement, his sudden lunge to flick the light switch was so surprising...even moreso because Mads plays Lecter as so still for the majority of the time. I rewound that moment a few times, actually. The fight scene was beautiful - I've rewound Hannibal vaulting the island in the kitchen more times than I would like to admit. I know Mads does a lot of his own stunts, and there is a portion of the fight where you can ever-so-slightly see the trace of a back pad under his dress shirt, which just impresses me to no end.
  18. UsernameFatigue (ha!) I think there has always been a degree of frustration at Leslie's character development - certainly from my end, anyway. I hope since this is the final season that the writing will tighten up and we'll see some quality and consistency.
  19. Mark O'Brien (who plays Des) had a guest appearance in Hannibal this past season. It was a lovely contrast to his Des character. Welllllll, I say lovely....
  20. I was floored at the miss of abacus and John Irving. I realise things like this are subjective but I couldn't believe she didn't get FJ. I immediately yelled "ON THE WATERFRONT!" at the television - it felt like a total fix* *I completely do not think it was fixed
  21. Editor's Note: Discuss Republic of Doyle Here! The CBC Upfronts were yesterday and Allan/the CBC has announced that this will be the last season of RoD. From Allan's Twitter: Our decision to end RepublicofDoyle on season 6 was tough, but i think you'll love that we're going out with a bang. #October8finalseason I'm not surprised, I'm just glad the show has a chance to go out on its own terms and wrap up storylines. It will be a 10-episode season, as well. Allan also commented that he was interested in a movie, saying “We’re very interested in a feature film...In the back of our minds we’ve been thinking about it, and when we had the choice of 10, 12 or 13 episodes my preference was always to do 10. We’d take those last three episodes and roll them into a feature film.” There have been all sorts of cutbacks at CBC that may have happened anyway, but were hastened by the loss of HNiC. Regardless of how you feel about hockey or that Saturday night classic, HNiC provided valuable revenue for the CBC - without it, these cuts are a necessity. I agree that spending the kind of money that Sportsnet spent for the rights to NHL games was ridiculous, so I appreciate the CBC not paying it in some ways, but I'll be sad without CBC's coverage.
  22. I love listening to/reading Bryan Fuller's interviews. He sounds like such an interesting guy! GreyBunny, in that YouTube interview you posted upthread, I love WATCHING him. He's all folded up into that seemingly tiny chair with his huge floppy hands...
  23. Seemingly out of nowhere, but I wanted to say it: I never completely bought into the Will-as-Abagail's-surrogate-father. I just didn't think there was enough screentime given to that relationship. I can understand Will being devastated at her death and shocked that she had still been alive (flip that around, timing-wise) but the whole daddy thing didn't totally work for me. I mean, I will believe the writers because I've bought what they have sold so far, but it doesn't resonate.
  24. Mads is now Hannibal Lecter in my mind, and I've spent the last few days trying to convince everyone I know who isn't watching Hannibal to start watching it - they are all missing out. This finale was spectacular. Hannibal's voice actually wavered for the first time and that little thing made the scene with Will particularly powerful. What Mads and Hugh have done with those characters is just so impressive. WRT Hannibal's seeming lack of injuries - In the gifs someone posted earlier in the thread, you can see that Hannibal's bottom lip is split, and given his knowledge of...everything, I can happily fanwank that his bruised face is artfully covered with makeup.
