  1. The upside is, I called another store that had the chair in stock and told them what happened so they set one aside for me (even though they aren't really supposed to) and had it on a cart waiting for me when I arrived. They were extremely nice to me there.
  2. I had a weird experience in a store today. Anyone here work retail that might be able to answer some questions on store protocol when you have limited stock and more than one customer wanting the same item? There was a sale on a chair I wanted to get. I found one up on a shelf but I couldn't get it down without help. So, my friend stood by the box while I found an employee and asked for assistance. I was told that the forklift operator was getting something down for another customer and would come help me in a few minutes. A few minutes later, the forklift came around to the aisle I was in and I heard him say "Here's one!" and he took the chair down. I was about to thank him when another employee loaded it onto the cart of another customer (who had been looking for the chair but not found it yet). Then the forklift operator asked me what I needed and I told him it was the chair he just gave to the other customer. He called out to a supervisor and asked for assistance (at that point I thought there were more in stock-- there had been 7 listed). The supervisor that came up was rather rude. The forklift operator called out to the customer with the last box and told him that I'd been waiting on that box. Guy just kept walking away. To compound the situation, there was a woman there who had purchased 6 chairs (already gone to the register and paid for them) and had already pulled 4 chairs to the front and was looking for the other two. She was right there as the customer was walking off with the chair I'd found. The supervisor wouldn't even look her in the eye or speak to her. He addressed the man that was with her and said "She's going to have to get a refund then." When the forklift operator said "Wait" and told the guy who was walking off with the box that the other lady had already paid for it, the guy flipped us all off and kept walking. Another issue was that they had included the floor model in their inventory listing-- so there were really only 6 chairs to begin with. The Floor model was damaged. I inquired about getting the floor model for an additional discount since it was damaged and the supervisor rudely said that he could make more money sending it back to claims and wouldn't lower the price. After searching the store and realizing that they had inventoried the floor model I started discussing just buying the floor model anyway and the supervisor (who walked up when I was on another aisle) butted in and told me he wouldn't sell me the floor model and that he was going to return it. At least the guy who ran the forklift apologized to me on the way out. So, my question is: If a customer already paid for the items, wouldn't they have to let her take the last boxed one instead of giving it to that guy? And, had the other lady not purchased the chair already and it was just between the customer who was standing next to the box with their hand on it vs the customer who was looking for it, who would get it? I shouldn't let this bug me, but it just irked the hell out of me to have that experience.
  3. I want to see Reverse Flash interact with Iris more (particularly since I found out that Candice played Matt's character's secretary on "Entourage") and Cat Grant (sp?) because Callista and Matt previously had a kissing scene on Brothers & Sisters (Callista played a character named Kitty).
  4. Thanks for explaining that! I remember the Lar Gand in the comic books had to be saved from the lead poisoning by Brainiac 5-- at least during the version written in the 90s.
  5. I totally forgot about Tara! And I actually like her.
  6. Hmm.. Interesting that they are adding Mon-El to the Supergirl series. It must not be the same version that was in Legion of Super-Heroes though. That one was named Lar Gand and was from the planet Daxam. Matt Letscher cracks me up. He seems to be having a lot of fun with LoT. Cute photos. I have to chuckle whenever I see that strained smile on Stephen Amell's face in the pics because I remember reading somewhere that he hates photoshoots. The other people all seemed to be enjoying themselves though. I loved that two of them said they wanted Sara Lance on their shows. It was sweet of Grant to say he wanted ATOM to join The Flash.
  7. I wonder if the writers will ever remember that Garcia used to have 4 brothers or that JJ had a niece. They seem to have forgotten about the dogs owned by Rossi and Morgan. I know animals can be a pain to work with, but sometimes I wish they would have more pets on in a good way. Like they go to interview someone at their home and a cat or dog climbs on them.
  8. I admit that I've learned to ignore the team taking turns delivering the profile because it is something that was part of the show in the beginning. I would have to watch again, but something else bothered me about the actual profile itself but I can't remember anymore.
  9. I got bored and looked up episodes of 'Entourage' because I heard they had Matt Letscher in them. I was watching and then discovered that Candice was playing his character's secretary.
  10. I know that Matthew directed the episode after this, but you would think they could have scheduled the filming in such a way that they had scenes for Reid that made sense. He seemed to really be thinking and "present" in the opening scenes and then he just inexplicably disappeared from the police station. If they said he was out doing legwork or *something* it would have made more sense. I can get the unsub having motivation to kill or hurt the people who bullied him, but murdering their family members just didn't seem right. They initially profiled it as someone experienced and organized. So, how the hell was a kid like that able to pull it off so smoothly on his first try? Did he practice techniques for sneaking in and shooting in video games? Had he been to the victim's homes before? How did he know just where to go? Did they ever explain where or how the boy obtained a silencer? For that matter, did they say how he got the gun? I mean, I could believe that he stole or borrowed a gun belonging to an uncle, aunt, grandparent, or parent or something. But not a silencer. I did like the part where Prentiss, Reid, and JJ talked through what happened, but I did wonder why they assumed that the mother screamed. She might not have had time to scream and I don't remember them mentioning the neighbors hearing any screams. Am I the only person who thought it didn't seem right for a puddle of pee to come out from under the closet door? Wouldn't it have been mostly absorbed by his pants? Why did they assume that the unsub saw the puddle? For all they know, he could have peed after the unsub left or at least the puddle might not have been visible right away (although, I still don't buy that there would have been a puddle to begin with). I feel like this plot was already done before and done better with "Elephant's Memory". At least Owen had more of an explanation for his actions. With this kid, it isn't clear why he targeted the first two kids before going after the kid who threw the ball at his face. Speaking of which, how was he able to overpower that kid? Did he use the gun? I know they wanted to give us a red herring, but I think the counselor seemed a bit too cliche and didn't seem very realistic to me. I just don't think someone like that guy would have made it as a school counselor. He saw one of the kids get tripped and did nothing? He's an adult with at least some position of authority. He should could have and should have said something to the kid who did the tripping. Then Kyle (not sure why I remember the name) kidnapping his friends at gunpoint also didn't really make sense. How did he know where they were to begin with? Again, it just felt too contrived. I can see that others also felt that Reid should have been the one to talk him down and I agree. There was just no explanation as to why Reid wasn't there and he really should have been. I did think the acting was pretty good for the most part and I liked that the friend who was driving realized something was off with Kyle and that he wanted to call the police. I think that Kirsten and Adam have good chemistry as friends, but I don't understand why they are persisting with this weirdness with Garcia buying gifts for Roxy and just the awkward interactions. It just doesn't seem to make sense. That awkwardness should be gone by now. Did they even mention Hotch at all? This one wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either. Still, not too bad for a first writing endeavor. But the plot and profiling need some work.
  11. I vaguely recall Matthew or someone from the show mentioning how Reid somewhat mimicked Gideon's clothing style in the beginning. Brown pants, patterned shirts, etc. I noticed that after Gideon left and Rossi joined, Reid started dressing in nicer clothes. At an online chat with Joe, I brought up that bit about the clothing and asked if he thought Reid was now emulating Rossi to an extent and he basically said yes (can't remember the exact quote). So, we can guess that Rossi inspired him to change his clothing style just a bit.
  12. This has been one very bizarre year thus far. Next thing you know, cats are going to take over.
  13. I was waiting for someone's phone to ring so I wasn't surprised that they were interrupted. Would be kinda funny if they were making out and she asked if his phone was vibrating and he told her it wasn't his phone. I found it funny how Barry put the pillow on his lap for the whole time Joe was in the room. LOL.
  14. This isn't necessarily a spoiler, but Andrew Wilder (who wrote for Secrets and Lies, The Mist, and Criminal Minds to name a few) has joined the Flash writers. I briefly talked to him on Twitter and asked who his favorite character was. He said Joe West because he's an everyday hero. For villains, his favorite is King Shark.
  15. It would be cool if Hartley was his partner or if Hartley came back. I actually sort of wonder if Barry Allen on Earth-19 was HR's partner. Did anyone else notice that he seemed to look at Barry with some sense of recognition? I wonder it Tom C just pronounced it expresso on purpose to be annoying (or to show that his character had the name wrong since they are out of coffee on his world). Also, did I hear incorrectly, or did HR say he wanted to write adventure and romance/romantic novels?
  16. On a weird side note, did anyone else notice that it looked like H.R. had some sort of scar above his left eyebrow? Either a scar or a cut. I don't have a still image from the episode, but I have this shot of Tom Felton and Tom Cavanagh together where you can see the thing above the eyebrow. Could it be makeup or do you think Tom C banged his head again?
  17. Barry *quietly saves Julian from a falling sign & knocks him to the ground* Julian: Cheers! Julian: That actually makes sense. Maybe there's a brain in there after all, Allen. HR Wells: You have Hitchcock on this earth? Oh, brilliant. "Murder on the Titanic!" "Who did it?!" "Who cares?! We're drowning!"
  18. I found myself wishing that Caitlin had actually told her mother that part of the reason she wasn't in contact was because her boss turned out to be a murderer, her husband died, and a guy started to fall in love with turned out to be a psychopathic serial killer who kidnapped her. Yeah, it seems her mother had negative feelings about Dr. Wells, although she didn't call him a murderer. I wonder if she even knew about that.
  19. Good point about the CSI's lack of noticing that it didn't leave any visible signs of going through-- and why weren't there any cellphone videos of it? Surely in this day and age at least one person would have stopped to video it (albeit from a safe distance). And wouldn't it have gone through objects and such? There is no way the kid could have controlled it so perfectly that it wouldn't have passed through things prior to Barry trying to trap it. I love Tom Cavanagh, but I have to admit that this is so far my least favorite of his characters on the show. I hope that I grow to like him more with time though. I just am not sure how useful the "idea man" thing will be for them. And I don't know if he can ever really bond with the team the way the previous iterations did. It would be nice to meet HR's partner. I wonder if the partner just really cares about him or wanted to get rid of him. I suspect Caitlin's mother is using her maiden name instead of married name. Speaking of the mother, I know she is supposed to be cold, but she really didn't react much to Caitlin saying her husband died. Did the mother even know that Caitlin was married? Yeah, it seemed odd that the kid could pull that off with almost zero explanation of how. And they didn't think to introduce him to Cisco (who could maybe mentor him a little). I think Barry didn't take the projector because it was evidence of the crime. I wonder if it will turn out that HR's partner is somehow in league with Alchemy. I was a bit disappointed that HR turned out to be a fraud, but I'm not surprised. I admit that I like scientist types, so I wanted another scientist Wells. I bet HR could probably load up on coffee seeds from Earth-1 and make a huge profit by taking them back to Earth-19 (assuming that story about coffee being gone was true). Kinda reminds me of Eobard saying the cows were all gone from his timeline. Caitlin's mother's partner trying to trap her was just absolutely idiotic. She could have used her powers to break the door. And the exchange with her mother over the incident was far too quick. I felt like it was rushed. I rolled my eyes at Joe's "it gets better" thing. That doesn't usually work and it isn't even true. Things don't always get better. I have friends who were bullied in school and still get bullied at work. But, what Joe could have done was pointed out that his son (Barry) was bullied in school and was now a CSI for the police. And then there is Cisco who was bullied and he's a scientist who makes really cool stuff and helps people-- he wouldn't even have to mention the Flash at all. Plotforce! Actually, maybe he extended the speedforce around the cookware and stove and made things cook faster. Or maybe he was just zipping back and forth to check on things and it cooked at normal pace but just looked super fast to viewers. I wonder why Cisco was being grumpy about it. I guess he just wanted some space. Yes. Barry had his own apartment in the pilot episode but when Iris moved in with Eddie, Barry decided to move back in with Joe for some reason. I can't recall if we ever actually saw Barry's apartment. We saw Caitlin's bedroom, Barry's bedroom at the West house, Barry's childhood bedroom and house, Eobard's house, Eddie's bedroom, and now we've seen Cisco's kitchen. I actually think it is in character for Barry to try to befriend Julian. For one, it was in his best interests, but he's also the kind of person who tries to make friends when he can. It was nice seeing Iris briefly. She just appeared out of nowhere trying to get the bus door open, but I was glad to see her. I suspect that Barry and Iris may end up moving in together at some point this season-- at least I hope so. I like Cecile, but I wonder if one of Joe's concerns is that it would be too difficult to explain all of the weird stuff to her. Particularly since they have done some illegal things and she refused to condone/help with illegal stuff in season 1. Me too! Loved the description-- who cares! We're all going to drown! LOL. I really like Tom Felton and he gave such a great performance. I still wonder if he knows or suspects that Barry is the Flash. Barry outright saved him and his response was "Cheers". He did seem genuinely shaken about nearly shooting the boy and he seemed to really take what Barry said to heart. So, thus far in the episode we learned that he served in the military and came from a rich family but they were controlling and he had to leave the UK to be able to pursue his interest in science. And HR is really an author and "muse" but he's always playing with drumsticks as if he's a musician. I do wonder how much of what he says is BS and how much is true. Caitlin not telling the team about her powers at this point is asinine. I know that after what he went through, Cisco is still mourning and that can take a long time, but I miss happy goofy Cisco.
  20. I wonder if they will still try to seek out another Wells if this current one doesn't seem to be very helpful. I also wonder if Julian is just a very good actor and tricking Barry (knowing he is the Flash) or if he is being genuine. I'm also curious to see what happens with Wally next episode. Just got the promo photos to load. I wonder how the hell they explained the presence of Wells to the D.A. Did they tell her the truth? Did Barry's time fuckery make it so that "Wells" never confessed but Henry was still somehow released from jail? Did Zoom just go get Henry out of jail and kill him? Looks like HR was putting the moves on Cecile-- hand on her leg and all. I wonder if that will push Joe to try to compete. Is it just the lighting, or is Tom's hair going more gray? Are those gummy bears on the table? I hope they aren't Haribo Sugar Free Gummi Bears or else someone is in for a very bad time.
  21. Yeah, my vet bills in the past few months have been quite high. And I just had to shell out more for worming medicine because one of the cats puked up a 3-inch long segment of tapeworm that looked like a piece of fettuccine. I actually thought it was a noodle until it started moving. Meds were more than $10 per pill and I have 11 cats-- some of them needed to take a pill and a half. And then there is 11% sales tax on top of it. It's a good thing we've pretty much stopped getting fast food and don't go to restaurants very often.
  22. Eobard returning home and finding his family wiped out is actually what I was guessing happened to cause him to hate Barry so much. That he assumed that it was Barry who was responsible for it and believed that if he stopped Barry from becoming the Flash, then his family would not get wiped out and he would still have a place back home. It makes more sense as a motivation than just being mad that he couldn't BE the Flash. I mean, I think maybe there was that initially, but I think that losing his family is what provoked him to desperation. Note that he said "Nothing is forgiven" and his speech to Eddie indicated that his job, home, family, etc all just vanished. Now, that could have been about being stuck back there, but I don't know if he would use those same terms if it were just that he was marooned indefinitely. He was adamant that he would get back "*everything* that was taken from" him.
  23. I don't think the awkwardness had anything to do with sibling/incest type stuff. Joe just isn't comfortable seeing his daughter making out with anyone. And he probably still thinks of Barry as a kid as well so it is awkward. And Barry knows Joe feels awkward about it so he feels awkward about it. I did think that sending out a "help wanted" thing to other universes for Harrison Wells was a bit odd. Harry has had some crackpot ideas in the past though. So, maybe he didn't think they would find anyone.
  24. I think they indicated that the time wraiths specifically target speedsters. They also indicated that they go after speedsters who don't know what they are doing. I still wonder how Barry was able to find the wraiths and communicate to them that he had someone for them to go after without them going after him. If he was able to communicate it means that they can be reasoned with to an extent. Barry didn't encounter them a few times out of sheer luck. It would be interesting if they were mentioned on LoT at some point. It would also be nice to find out more about the other speedsters Eobard was referencing when he said something like "we usually avoid them."
  25. Yeah. I'd love to know how they would explain it. Maybe at some point one of the Thawne's still got stuck in the past? I dunno. I would like to know if the version of Thawne on LoT is the one who went through Flashpoint with Barry or if it is a slightly younger version, or if somehow he ended up not dying at the end of season 1 and it's the one who saw Barry grow up.
