But the people are all dead, so what difference does any of it make? At least the people of Kings Landing, where they apparently plan to stay. The other people from the other 6 or 7 lands all live far enough away that they'd be unlikely to ever see the king anyway.
-
I like the shock value of having Jon kill Dany, but I wish they either were still a hot and heavy item when everything went down, or that they were never in love and he was just an incredibly loyal man. It kind of ruins it a little that they had been together and he had already pulled back.
-
If this is what they were working toward all this time- that Bran becomes the King- then they should have done it Game of Thrones style. This should have ended with the throne intact, and on the platform with the lords and ladies of Westeros. Tyrion should have asked Bran, will you do it, and Bran should have stood up, with an evil gleam in his eye, and said in a chilling voice, "Why do you think I came all this way," and then walked over to take the throne. End scene as the audience realizes he always saw this ending and was, in more ways than one, the catalyst for everything that got us here. That he was always conspiring to take the throne himself. Mic Drop. Instead they have him act like a bored stoned teenager who can't even be bothered sitting through the first council meeting. Lame.
-
I would argue that the Lannisters also won. Cersie and Jamie died a romantic death with not one of the million people who deserve revenge actually getting the be the one who kills them. Tyrion gets to live and be the hand of the king, a king he handpicked. A king who has absolutely no interest in ruling, so Tyrion will do it. He's arguably the most powerful person in Westeros right now.

I can allow for the idea that since Daenerys put Tyrion in jail to stand trial, the unsullied and in particular, Gray worm, continue on that path. But for them to arrest Jon and just have in a holding cell waiting for justice......too much of a stretch. They've spent years risking their lives for their beloved queen. They just meted out her "justice" all over town by murdering the few remaining soldiers in cold blood, after wiping out a city full of innocents and surrendered peoples. The only logical conclusion at this point is that they have crossed into territory of being either or both bloodthirsty or/and fanatical follower. That they would handle her death with stoicism and calmly walk around discussing how and when to exact justice on Jon defies belief. Ditto the disappearing Dothraki.

If Bran can see the future, he must know that his time on the throne is short. The people will not follow such an uninspiring, and uninterested leader for long. First challenge by anyone even slightly dynamic and he's done. Tyrion is an amazing character that's fun to watch, but he makes absolute shit decisions and recommendations, including this one. If Bran can't see what's going down soon, Sansa sure can. "Ummm.....hell, no, we'll just rule ourselves in the North. Thanks anyway."
-
He was there, and he and Arya weren't together? Another disappointment, then.
-
What happened to Gendry? Wasn't he sent to be a Lord over Baratheon Lands? Why wouldn't he be important enough to be sitting there at the end? I love Brienne, but on what authority was she there with her own vote? I think Tyrion's speach to Jon was necessary to explain what went wrong with Dany, but even further weakened Jon. Did he seriously have to be told at that point that she had to die? There is almost no one I care less about than Bran Stark. It's partly story line and partly acting, but I just seriously could not care less about that character, so that felt very unsatisfying. And frankly, I felt nothing for most of the night. I'm not sure what went wrong with this episode (maybe the actors hated it too and phoned it in) but I just didn't FEEL anything. For nine years I've been tense, stressed, touched, sad, happy and a multitude of other things after every episode because the writing, the acting and the production of it all has been largely superb. Why do I feel nothing? The whole episode was "Meh." I've heard they filmed more than one ending to keep it all a secret. Show me one of the other ones. Maybe I'll like it better.

S09.E14: The Show Must Go On
Beachdreamer replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I think you all need to lighten up on Kyle for jumping on and straddling Mauricio. Poor Kyle has had a child sleeping in her bed for over 20 years. She's so sex starved she falls apart with a margarita and some "big dick energy.' -

Take that lie detector test, Lisa, because "poor creature" is every bit the smoking gun Rinna and Teddi claimed it was, just not HOW they claimed it was. My best guess is that they had an advance copy of the article that included those words, and then the actual article was changed up. Whether they leaked to Radar themselves, or producers did it with their knowledge, I'm not sure and don't even care. As for the initial reveal- I think LVP knew some version of it was being planned and didn't care, and Ken stepped in and told her to put a halt to it. She attempted to do that, and the story was pushed by others anyway. I think both in her mind, and probably legitimately, in this case she bears no responsibility for that. I don't know what conversations and etc didn't make the cut, but what we saw on camera was really Teddi, then Kyle pushing the initial story line. And truly, I think all 3, Teddi, Kyle and Rinna view Dorit as more frenemy co-worker than friend, so why not go after her? -

My guess is Bravo did. -
Cersie is a fighter. Had any of our better liked characters confronted her to kill her, she would have fought back, at least verbally. She would have gone done smug and swinging. This way she was stripped of all dignity. I'm content with this ending for her.

Additionally, I don't think John will end up ruling for this reason. I think the writer's message is that there is no happy ending when there is an absolute ruler, not for the ruler or the people, and for this reason, I don't think they will set John up to follow this path. I'm not really sure an hour is enough to create a democracy, though, so it's going to be tough to wrap it up.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. I am in the minority, it looks like, but I don't think the transformation was too quick to be believable. I think the threat of losing everything she ever worked toward was in her very near future, and she knew it. The secret was no longer a secret, and not only was John the rightful heir and ruler, he was preferred, even by her own advisor. But, she'd gotten a taste of power and wasn't going to let it go. I think she was probably equal parts rage and frustration and calculation.

S09.E13: Grilling Me Softly
Beachdreamer replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Actually, it works for them in 2 ways. There are plenty of fans who do choose products specifically because their favorite TV personality has attached themself to it. But it also just works as brand recognition. For example, one might not have the specific thought that they want to use Teddi's security company (and I assume no one wants to use Kyle or Dorit's- haha) but outside conversations of the show, if viewers were asked to name security companies, many of us just added Skyline to the list of brands we subconsciously know exist. This is why big name companies will buy the naming rights to sports arenas and things like that. I don't know if there are studies specific to reality shows, but there's an entire industry based upon studying consumers and their behavior. -
S09.E13: Grilling Me Softly

Meh. They grocery shopped, they camped, they grilled. I do all that myself. It's more fun for me to do it than watch it. I expect more from Beverly Hills. I do appreciate a good charcuterie board, so that was nice. Other than that, it just isn't what I tune in for. Also, I don't even like Dorit, but I think it's ridiculous that they don't all just let the PK comment go. I think they are all just working a drama angle that doesn't involve them, so that they can keep their own stuff hidden. With the exception of Kyle and Dorit, of course. I suspect Kyle resents Dorit a little for the situation, and the eventual loss of her friendship. Conversely, Dorit keeps asking, "Why is Lisa mad at me now?" It's a fair question. They seemed to fine for weeks after the puppy thing. I wonder if she knows Kyle threw them all under the bus in her confrontation with LVP, or if she is trying to figure out if she did. -
Lisa Vanderpump: Pink is her Favorite Color
Beachdreamer replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I don't think Lisa had anything to do with Radaronline article, and here's why. The following direct quotations from the article make it feel to me like the leak is actually screwing with LVP. She's been accused of holding a grudge. I think that line is a humorous dig at that. I also don't think Lisa would make London any part of the article if she did it. I just don't think it feels organic. “She knew Paul from London and because of their friendship, she brought Dorit on RHOBH. Dorit would not be on the show if it weren’t for Lisa, so of course Lisa is feeling extra hurt by this.” “Although it is too late for that, Lisa did get the dog back and the animal is with a proper home. Of course Lisa will forgive her. She is not the type of woman that holds onto grudges very long.” I think Lisa is capable of leaking to the press, I just don't think she did it here. Also, I think LVP's go to mode is to have people sucking up to her and groveling at her feet. If LVP was behind Radaronline, she wouldn't have said what she did to TMZ. If LVP did leak this article, it would be so that Dorit groveled and kissed up to her. Immediately exonerating her would not accomplish this. -
S09.E12: The Ultimate Ultimatum
Beachdreamer replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I would not characterize the return of the first dog as "dumping." In fact, had she returned the second dog to VPD, I wouldn't characterize it as dumping. I wanted to insert my opinion here because not every home is right for every dog, and not every home is right for any dogs at all. I don't have a problem with someone quickly realizing this and working with VPD to rectify the situation. I would characterize that behavior as responsible, and believe it is in the best interest of the dog. And I apologize for being picky, but I worry that not making that distinction can create the kind of pressure that makes people throw on a wig and drive their dog to another town to rectify the situation in a way that I would absolutely classify as dumping. -

Perhaps with a different timeline, Lisa would have reached out. The way it was shown to us, it was a very short timeline- the Radar story is printed, then the women are at spin, then lunch. LVP is at VPD for her event and to watch the resolution on TV. Kyle showed up either that night or the next day to tell her all of her friends think she planted the story. -

One more thing- this is not just what they are thinking. It's what they are saying on TV. I can't imagine how gutted I would feel if I learned that my friends were discussing me on TV and accusing me of having poor character. -
S09.E12: The Ultimate Ultimatum
Beachdreamer replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Dorit, in this episode, said to Lisa why can't we agree to disagree on this. Kyle used the same wording in an interview posted on her thread. I find this so bizarre. They are not talking about a subject upon which one would agree to disagree. The subject is- Lisa schemed to hurt Dorit then lied about it. Why would Lisa agree to disagree on this, and then move on happily. Why would anyone do this? She'd be agreeing to sit there and shop and dine and travel with someone who thinks she's a person of poor character and integrity. Life is too short, and she already has fame and money, so she doesn't need to agree to those terms so that she can be on the show. And she already told us in the Bahamas that she is currently acutely aware that life is too short. I don't blame the other women for thinking she's behind this. I don't, but hey, they are there and they know her better than I do, so they're entitled to think she is behind it. It's just bizarre that they think that they should be thinking it and saying it while still hanging out with Lisa as a friend. -

Yes, but if I remember correctly, Lisa backed down and apologized for this almost immediately. Much like she did with Kyle in VPD about going to the Tom Tom opening. Just saying... -

S09.E12: The Ultimate Ultimatum
Beachdreamer replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
PK called the Vanderpumps and requested a meeting to try to get past the issues and into a place where they could all be friends again. He specifically asked what it would take for that to happen. In response to that, Lisa said in order to be friends with them, they would need to believe she was not scheming to hurt them and lying to their face. Dorit was still "allowed" to think all those thing, Lisa just wouldn't be shopping and dining with her while she does. I think that's reasonable. -
S09.E12: The Ultimate Ultimatum

This may make me eligible for a tin-foil-hat-fitting, but I'm starting to think Bravo is behind all this. And I don't mean just that they are behind the leaked story. I mean, I keep wondering if they are behind the attempted take down of LVP. Like, I think they actually told the women to do this. Why do I think it? A large reason is that the women all quickly got on board with going after Lisa, and they aren't stopping. They don't stop when she's upset, they don't stop when they acknowledge she going through a difficult time, they don't stop when she swears on her children's lives. And even now, they aren't stopping when they can see the fans aren't with them. They are still committed to the LVP leaked it story line. Even the ones who legitimately want to be her friend, and BTW, it's a great point that why would anyone want a friend they believe does that. These women want to keep their diamond. As this is all playing out in real time and later as all this is airing and the tide doesn't seem to be in their favor, they are all still committed to the story. They are not terribly committed to each other as time goes on, but they are all still united against LVP. I feel like some of them should be backtracking by now, to try to keep fans and a spot on the show, but they aren't. That takes a level of job security I don't think they would have....unless they were told to do this and to stick with it.
