S14.E06: Family Affair
Beachdreamer replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
This is a little uncomfortable for me because I don't find Shane super likeable, but I do not feel bad for Emily. -I would NEVER go on TV and repeatedly make it clear that my husband was having trouble passing the bar. She pursues it again and again when she can see that it makes him uncomfortable. It's thoughtless and as demeaning as much of what he is saying to her. -If my husband were a Mormon with strong feelings about alcohol, swearing, and suggestive dancing, the last thing I would do is join a Real Housewives cast and start bringing all of that into our home. This is his home. Now, he's not who I would choose to marry, but he is who Emily chose, so I think the 2 of them need to talk about how this show is not right for Shane, or his lifestyle and choices. I know, it's her home, too, but lets be real. She is free to drink, go out with friends, swear while she's out with them. He doesn't seem to have asked her not to dance in Vegas, so she's free to do what she wants-I just don't think asking him to be part of it is fair. Of course he doesn't want to be part of her sexy Vegas dance. I think Emily is either really passive aggressive or really calculating, and I'm not sure which it is yet. But I am certain she is aware that she is making him look bad. And that's why I don't feel bad for her. (He isn't doing himself any favors either) -
S09.E24: Reunion Part 3

My prediction is Dorit. The alliances have formed. Erika and Rinna. Kyle and Teddi. Denise is too new to be a target, but she certainly hasn't partnered up with Dorit. I think Dorit's in trouble for next year. (Assuming Camille is smart enough to spend next year off camera skiing with her new husband and building a new Barbie Dream Home for herself. -

That was uncomfortable to watch. Camille has been unlikable this season and particularly during the reunion, but it still felt - I don't know, just really uncomfortable- to watch the other ladies with her and really to watch Andy with her. For me, it was a situation where Camille herself was already unlikeable, but anyone picking at her crying carcass made me feel annoyed with them, too. Like- enough already. She doesn't even get the paycheck or a diamond for doing this. Christ, she doesn't even get a tequila shot out of it. And ladies, please stop saying "THIS group of girls (is great)" We're not stupid. We've seen that Teddi and Dorit don't like each other and Teddi and Kyle have issues with Erika and etc. You're not fooling us. In fact, by repeating it over and over it's plain as day that it's a rehearsed plan to pretend you all get along and should be the only ones in the group- the group clearly meaning women holding a diamond. -
S09.E23: Reunion Part 2
Beachdreamer replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I know the "Monty from Magootsville" line came off like Kyle was making fun of a viewer, but I actually thought it was something different. I thought it was Kyle's way of saying to Andy that she knows these viewer questions are really his and that she was pissed that he was asking her that. I also think that was why she was so flustered and gave such a poor and snippy defense of Mauricio- because she was totally taken off guard and surprised/hurt/annoyed that Andy would do that to her. -

Beachdreamer replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I think Monty from Magootsville did an excellent job of summarizing the allegations of the lawsuit. What I've read in several different (admittedly low brow) news sources is that Mauricio advised the seller and his country henchmen (whole other story) that they should accept a particular offer on the house. It was disclosed only 24 hours before closing that Mauricio was a buying partner in that offer, and therefore in the purchase. The house was sold a year later for 37 million MORE than the year before, meaning that the house increased in value by 37 million in one year, or that the house was worth much more, if not the full 37 mil more in the first place the year prior. So yes, Monty (aka Tina) summarized the situation quite succinctly. -

I'm not trying to be difficult, but I honestly don't remember actually seeing that. I remember seeing other people claim that. Do you have any examples? -
S09.E23: Reunion Part 2
Beachdreamer replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I know she was trying to get the mic pack off and I doubt she thought she was being filmed doing it, but she still practically ripped her dress off in the room when dressing rooms and other closed doors are all nearby and available. We can agree to disagree on whether this makes her look angry or completely out of control. -

I think this is probably true of the Blizzard situation as well. This is all guessing on my part, but I bet John Sessa was very solidly behind the plan to tell Teddi, to show the dog, etc. I think it's likely that he was telling Blizzard what to do, and that is why Blizzard perceived it all as coming from Lisa. And if true, Blizzard would not be someone Lisa would fire in that whole scenario. Nor would she want to out that Sessa was behind the scheming and phone calls. I don't think any of them (Sessa, Blizzard or LVP) were behind the ROL story, though. I think that was a separate issue, from a separate camp. -

I would agree except she began to rip her dress of in the middle of the room. -
S09.E23: Reunion Part 2

I was happily surprised to see how hard Andy was on Teddi. I thought she had it coming and more. As crappy as what she schemed to do and did do truly was, sitting in the Bahamas proclaiming herself to be soo incredibly trustworthy and truthful with absolute vehemence about a subject where she was untruthful and scheming......that's some shady stuff there for anyone, let alone a woman who makes a living proclaiming the virtues of accountability. That footage is reality gold. -

I think Camille was set up from the beginning of the season. I think Andy had Denise beat Camille to the punch in a lot of ways (wedding, etc) as a way to stir the pot and create a dramatic show. And I think the women did go after her a little. The thing is, she just gave them all soooo much to work with. She's her own worst enemy, even with all the other women against her. -

They are two very different things. Get over here and clean your room! Get over here and clean your f-ing room! It makes a difference. Camille clearly claimed that Denise said she swears at her children, and the footage shown did not support that. -

Kyle did not keep her cool when Mauricio's lawsuit came up. She was taken by surprise there. Which is strange, because it was all over social media leading up to the filming. I wonder why she was so rattled that Andy brought it up. Did she think he had her back in all things? -

Denise said she doesn't SWEAR at her kids. Camille said that Denise told them she does. The footage they showed is of Denise saying she screams at her kids. -
I can't help but assume that Denise brought exactly what she was told to bring to the season. I feel like her existence was to make Camille look second rate. And if so, it was all Andy laughing behind the scenes. Camille's getting married? Denise- beat her to it and marry Aaron. Camille was married to a hollyweird person with a crazy story? Denise- who did you marry again? Charlie Sheen? Yeah, make sure to say that a few times, OK? Camille sees herself as a sex goddess? Denise- you know what to do. I think that's why Camille went raging on Denise during the divorce settlement segment. She knew what had been done to her all season. (I'm not sure anyone could have planned that they would both lose their homes in a fire, so that one is just an unhappy coincidence. At least I think it was....has anyone checked Andy for matches?)

I'm sorry that you were asked to pretend about something. That would be very hurtful.

Rinna is not a favorite of mine by any stretch. But, she doesn't have to like LVP in my book, either. The two of them have a long history, and we've seen some back and forth with them for years. Most of the time, LVP seemed to put Rinna quite into her place in a way that certainly wouldn't turn them into lifelong pals. So Rinna doesn't like her. That's fine with me. She could say crap to LVP all day long if she wanted without it bothering me. My issue with this season wasn't that a woman or two didn't like LVP. If it had just been Rinna, I would been fine with it. It was the full on gang up by her friends and her non-friends. It was the way they didn't cut her any slack for her recent trauma. It was the way no one else was held accountable for their blatant on camera acts while LVP was held accountable for things that were unseen and unproven. I know I've digressed from your original point, Politichick, and I'm sorry for that. You're right, regardless of who she likes or doesn't like, she has a few things at home that could use her attention.

Could be. It's also possible that they knew Kyle WOULDN'T tell the real story and that could have felt just as egregious. Not that they would want the real story out there, but if your mom used and abused you, and your childhood was a crazy nightmare, you might not be happy that someone was going to tell a fairytale version of it either.

Unpopular Opinions
Beachdreamer replied to RealHousewife's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Having Boy George live with your family is weird. I like seeing weird stuff like that. -
Yes. And I said it then, and I'll say it again- it is not my opinion or interpretation that the article benefits LVP. It benefits someone who wanted Dorit to be outed for dumping the dog. We have seen no indication that LVP wanted this. But we saw that Teddi did. And we saw that Kyle did. And we saw that Rinna did.

S09.E22: Reunion Part 1
Beachdreamer replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
The whole divorce settlement discussion is a great example of what sets LVP apart from everyone else. She would never have attempted to justify anything. She would have said, "Dahling I'm worth every penny." Or, "That was a bargain, I'm worth so much more, " or something queenly like that and ended the whole thing. -
You know why this makes sense to me? Because I don't think the initial intent was to take down LVP. I think initially, it was to knock Dorit down a bit. Kyle was pissed that her BFF Lisa wasn't mad at Dorit. The leaked article didn't dig at LVP- the resulting discussions did. The initial article revealed what Dorit did. I think if Kyle did do this, it was initially to be closer with LVP than anyone else, but it evolved in a different way. If Kyle did do this to drive a wedge between Dorit and LVP, she must have been quite incensed when LVP immediately defended Dorit.

S09.E22: Reunion Part 1
Beachdreamer replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
All of the women have buckets of wealth (maybe not Dorit) and degrees of fame. Where Lisa trumps all of them is her quick wit and her semi condescending demeanor. This allows her to retain the upper hand in most conversations. She can and does regularly make the others look like morons. I'm not sure if the other women are jealous, per se, but I bet they are fairly put out at constantly being bested in such small and subtle ways that they can't seem to do much about it. -
S09.E22: Reunion Part 1
Beachdreamer replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
How much do you want to bet those Manolo's were in Kyle's size? She knows where Lisa lives and she knows where Lisa works- a true birthday gift could have been delivered within the last 6 months. That unwrapped shoe box was all for show. I bet they end this reunion by opening the box and finding a pair of pink pumps that fit Kyle just right. I think Kyle is beautiful, her house is lovely, she entertains impressively, and her family makes for good TV. And her dogs are everything. I like Kyle as RH. But I can't pretend to like the way everything with Lisa went down. Her genuine laughing friendship with Lisa was one of the best things about this show. Her blatant take down of her friend really bummed me out. I didn't want to like her less, but I was forced to. And she is somebody's queen, because she was never held accountable for her part in all of this. -I don't believe for one minute Teddi didn't clue her in before the VP dog scene. She knew going in and was also complicit. -She was pissed at VPD that Lisa wasn't mad at Dorit. No one called her out on that. -She manipulated the conversation so that it came out to Rinna, who of course had a field day with it. These were all moments that were aired, but never addressed by anyone. -

I thought it was weird, but because I think it was actually pretend ass- kissy. I think what they were really doing was laying the groundwork for Lisa's departure to be Kyle's fault the most. And also getting in a dig at Lisa. Erika used the word leader of the group to describe Kyle.
