S09.E22: Reunion Part 1
Beachdreamer replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
They already did. Calling her the Queen wasn't paying her homage. It was a calculated move to direct the onus of Lisa's departure onto Kyle. They were subtly telling the audience (many of whom were outraged by the season) that Kyle is calling the shots, so don't blame them. Well played, Erika. Like a sniper from the side. -
S09.E21: Hurricane Camille
Beachdreamer replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Watching that was like being on a rollercoaster with all ups and no downs. The anticipations builds...then nothing, then it builds again....and nothing. Camille has brought forth the PK finance talk, but it's over. Camille calls Rinna out on being a complete mean girl, then hugs her goodbye. Etc. It just felt unsatisfying. -

I'm confused about the faux pas. I don't know much about Dorit & PK's situation. Was Dorit involved in the bankruptcy? Is that why the year is significant? Not trying to be difficult, I just genuinely don't know what the wrong statement is. I just assumed that meant he filed for bankruptcy before he met Dorit. -

Right? And the thing is, they have found their own ways to work and build (and maybe lie and cheat) their way to wealth. I'm not throwing any shade at Camille- marrying into wealth sounds like a great deal- but I find most of the RHOBH place their pedestals of superiority upon areas of quicksand. -

The ever-stoned Denise Richards, ex-wife of Charlie Sheen and current procurer of happy ending massages just outclassed every one of those bitches by miles and miles. -

Also, we have to remember that this is their job. They are under contract and there are certain expectations, and they are away in France, so there is even more expectation that they film. I have canceled on social obligations for migraines while going in to work, and it wasn't because the pain wasn't awful, it was because the standard for showing up was different than a social obligation. -

Kyle has managed to create a rather large problem between herself and Erika over whether or not Erika is upset about .....well, you know the whole thing. Meanwhile, Rinna, is the one who actually yelled at Kyle's sister (Kyle's awful sister, but still) at the daughter's party- somehow Kyle doesn't even really address that. Kyle is the worst. But, I have to disagree with people who thought the pants made her look big. I didn't at all. I thought it was a really nice change from the mumus and looked great on her. I really liked her hair up at the end, too. She's really very naturally pretty. But, oh, she's the worst! And was the next line something close to Kyle proclaiming she has the best life? It seemed like she started to go there. Drunken idiot. -

That was uncomfortable to watch. Erika, you waited your whole life to make girlfriends and let your guard down and these are the ones you chose? How unfortunate. Teddi, spend some time with a therapist. You aren't getting paid enough to rip your family apart by delving into your upbringing on cable television. Kyle, ugh, I'm not able to say at this point if you're an alcoholic, but I can definitely say I'm starting to wonder. Dorit, congratulations. I could never have imagined you could become my favorite, but by staying largely sober and silent, you have accomplished it. -
S09.E18: Pardon Our French
Beachdreamer replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I honestly think the women were prodded by producers to create some sort of drama- "Ladies, you don't work for the travel channel. I know your viewers are content to ogle castles and medieval bridges, but Satan...I mean Andy...isn't, so find something to fight about." At this point, I think LR reached into her drama bag and pulled out the old and tired- anything to do with Kim Richards. So she threw it out and there and waited to see what happens. It appears from the show that nothing came of the conversation the first time it was put out there. But Kyle also had her marching orders from Bravo, so she decided to bring it back up, thinking she is putting Rinna and Erika into the hot seats and keeping her hands clean, because Kyle totally thinks she is the stealth drama master. Erika sees all of this and gets pissed at the easily manipulated hungry bitches attempting to create drama over her, with her or anything even near her. Erika has tried to tell them that they CAN sell a show where they all get along and eat croque monsieurs and she's pissed they're not at least willing to try it. -
S09.E18: Pardon Our French
Beachdreamer replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I've always thought the bunny was a weird thing to carry around as the pinnacle of anger and upset against Kim. Rinna has that crazy and unsettling car ride, the accusations against Harry and other things- things that felt bigger to me. But I don't get to decide how someone feels, so if the bunny is her issue, so be it. And Kyle and Teddi don't get to tell Erika how to feel. It is reasonable for them to wonder if she was bothered or offended by Rinna's interpretation of Erika Jayne, but once she said she wasn't, well....end of story. -

The real master manipulator is Rinna. Munchausen, Coke at the party, Harry likes when I wear a strap on....Rinna is NOT afraid to speak on her own. Ever. I don't think she dressed as EJ in order to confront Kim, but I don't think the costume gave her the courage, either. I think she just said it in the moment because she felt like it. That simple. I think the reason she keeps bringing up that she was in character is to see what comes of it. I think she is constantly throwing bones out there for other housewives to grab hold of and pick on. In this case, I think Kyle and Teddi obliged her. And, I think Erika had some idea of all of this, but knew she couldn't possibly explain it and win, so she got pissed and said-I'm fine, drop it. But, the idiots didn't and now they have a problem with Erika, even though I actually think initially she was suspicious of what Rinna was doing. Rinna has told us more than once that she's a hustler who will do anything for a buck. We should believe her. She totally got that fight going. I also think Kyle fancies herself a sly little pot stirrer and has no idea it was she who was manipulated. -
S09.E17: A Double Shot Of Brandi
Beachdreamer replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Oh my gosh, I just rewatched it. I really did zone out and miss a lot the first time. I saw the girls being sort of miserable and cranky and everything, but somehow I missed the end of that dinner. I would like to change my post from earlier. I pray that even if you filmed my children for months on end, you wouldn't catch them blatantly flipping one of us off. Yuck. -

Libertarian Slut, the post is too long to quote, so hopefully you will just notice this. 🙂 It's kind of you to allow for the possibility that my 5 year old was a long legged prodigy, but she was not. You are absolutely correct initially, they were glorified pony rides. I was agreeing with all of that. I was just laughing at the line about parents insisting they throw money away on it, or something like that, because I think I know what you mean. I've seen a lot of that, almost always because the mom is an equestrian, or always wished to have been one. And my laughter was because it was never our idea or desire to do riding, we just eventually got worn down and lost the battle. I've been losing it and money ever since. LOL -

I have 2 lovely beautiful, thoughtful, kind, polite, intelligent teenage daughters. My family has been on TV once and all went well. But we only filmed for a small part of one 1/2 hour episode. If you park a camera at my house long enough, you will find my teenagers acting like teenagers and my child acting like a child. That's life. And you might catch my husband being cranky or me being cranky with a "B." Also life. I'm not a big Rinna fan, and I don't find her daughters particularly compelling TV, but I don't think one crappy dinner tells the story of anyone's real life. I'm going to give them a pass on this one. -

I agree with absolutely everything in this post, but would point out that not all 5 year olds are there because their parents insist on throwing money away. This is going to sound a little weird to anyone who hasn't met a true horse girl, but I swear they come out of the womb begging to ride and don't stop until you put them on a horse. I remember mine as a 3 year old craning her neck to try to spot a just a flash view of a horse behind a house when we would drive by. By the time she was 5, we had put off riding lessons for years. And once we gave in, we were complete goners. That kid would shovel crap for hours and hours in exchange for a glorified pony ride, and still does to this day, although she's definitely upped her riding game. -
S09.E16: Meet Rinna Jayne
Beachdreamer replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
If these women were really smart, they would never ever mention LVP's name. They would bend over backwards to show us fabulous houses and trips and parties. They would plan and scheme for an outside source of drama. They would truly kill themselves showing us that LVP and her pink ponies and pointed British humor are not needed to make this show. If only they were truly smart.... -
S09.E16: Meet Rinna Jayne
Beachdreamer replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Kyle kept her mouth mostly shut (and her eyes open wide) on the bus ride where the others were trashing LVP and Camille. I wonder if she was actually making a decision to be smart and silent, or if it was Mauricio's presence that tempered her, or if she was just busy freaking out about the plane she was about to get on. -
S09.E16: Meet Rinna Jayne
Beachdreamer replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Rinna asked Dorit if there was coke at her party. Rinna whipped out a bag of pills. Rinna said Kim was near death. Rinna has told us multiple times that she is a hustler who will do anything for a buck. So, I just can't with the "LVP made me say munchausen." Rinna is a shock value player all on her own. I'm sure she jumped at the chance to be the one to say munchausen. Rinna went at Kim tonight despite Kyle asking everyone to suspend the drama for her daughter's party. Also, Kim is Kyle's sister and Farrah's aunt, so it was in seriously poor taste. And, although I find Kim to be a foul person, she is also ill with alcoholism and picking a new fight with her over an old event is even worse taste. Rinna was indeed *unty tonight. Denise- stay home and play with your daughters on the beach. Tell us about your absurd sex life. You can even bring up your ex-husband a few thousand times, but don't engage in the drama. We already have enough of that, and it isn't interesting. -
S09.E15: One Wedding And A Polygraph
Beachdreamer replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I found it interesting that the lie detector test did not (at least on TV) address the original reveal of the dog info. Did LVP agree to having Teddi know? Having at least one John talk about it on camera? Etc. I think that issue is muddier than Radaronline, and it's interesting that they didn't go there. -

Turnabout is fair play. LVP has enjoyed verbal missteps by others, so if her castmates give her a little trouble for this one, fair enough. I think intent is a little tough to determine here. We know LVP invited Erika to the party she had a few weeks ago. We're not really sure what LVP thinks of Erika or where they stand, but one might infer from this invitation that she thinks they are on decent terms. We, the audience, know that Erika has been making negative comments about LVP, but does Lisa know? So intent is questionable. Is she poking fun at a friend or taking a quick stab at an adversary? I can't pretend to know, and won't bother trying. For myself, I figure we are all human, which means we are going to make mistakes, and sometimes our mistakes will hurt others. The best we can do afterwards is to right the wrong if possible, apologize sincerely and attempt to do better in the future. I think LVP has done that with the trans community, so I'm moving on. I don't know if she apologized to Erika, but she didn't in that statement, so if Erika doesn't move on that's fair. -

I think it's worth pointing out that she doesn't appear to want to be brought back in at all. In fact, she is the one who walked away and declared herself done with them. They have actually been quite "open armed" the whole time, even while calling her a liar. -

The whole lie detector thing was messy and contrived, obviously by production. I MIGHT have bought that it was Lisa's idea if they hadn't had Kyle introduce the subject in Hawaii. But they did, and now I know it is contrived for drama. Gee, I wonder what else production might contrive for drama. And guess what, Bravo, I don't need the drama or even for the women to interact with each other. It's a bonus when it happens organically and is interesting, but otherwise, just follow them around living their crazy opulent lives. That's enough for me. Show me private planes, glam squads, landscaping, shopping, trips..... And when you have a 300K kitchen renovation, please know that it's enough to just have the kitchen renovation. You don't have to make Lisa say some contrived nonsense about renovating her kitchen because of Kyle energy so that you tie her back to the other ladies. She can stand on her own. Many of them can stand on their own. If they can't, don't make them a RHOBH. After the Game of Thrones let down this week, I really needed some redeeming TV, but I didn't get it last night. -
Jon Snow would have been executed on sight by Greyworm and the unsullied, not jailed. Or the dragon. I don't know. Somebody. It's weird that after a bloodthirsty massacre for their beloved queen they all suddenly reign themselves in and start jailing people. Whatever. I think if they wanted to make Bran the king, it should have been more in keeping with the "game" of thrones. At the point he is suggested for the throne, he is an utterly flat, personality- free but magical being staring off into space. It should have been like, the throne still exists and is on the platform with all of them at the end. They make him king, and he looks at Tyrion and says (with focused eyes and newfound personality and nuance and evil gleam and everything) "Why do you think I came all this way?" And then he needed to stand up and saunter over to that Iron Throne like an evil genius king who knew the whole goddamned time how all this would end and was just waiting for his turn on that Iron Throne. End show.
-
It really is beyond belief that Greyworm has control of the city at the point that Jon kills Dany, and that what he does is put him in jail for several weeks so that people he's never met and knows and cares nothing about can come and he can ask them for the right to kill Jon. I'm really hung up on the absurdity of that. I like Jon, but based on the way the story was playing out, I think it was his time to die.
