So Bamfird directed the first two episodes and Gregory Smith is directing 503. I suppose the promised women and minorities will step up to direct the second half of the season. I probably wouldn't have even noticed if their episodes hadn't left me unimpressed.

I think a lot of good points were raised regarding both sides of the issue. I really have nothing more to add than she's supposed to post the final chapter of Unbearable Hotness... today and I've enjoyed the ride.

I've finally watched the Arrow panel and unless Lance's relationship with Donna got erased by FP, I'm convinced that they broke up over the summer, since PB says he's miserable at the start of the season. I don't think he'd be a ray of sunshine if they were together considering the circumstances, but I can see him pushing Donna away over the hiatus. It would also be a good way to explain CR's absence. Felicity has recovered physically and Donna doesn't know about Havenrock, so she'd probably think she's doing okay. It seems like they're emphasizing SCPD's presence this year. We have the new guy, Pike filming with him, Oliver making some sort of announcement with the police present, and I caught sight of Pike with Thea in the sizzle reel. I approve. I have always wondered if Pike got promoted when Lance got the captain badge. Because last I know he was a lieutenant, which would mean otherwise Lance would have suddenly outranked him. Can't imagine Pike being thrilled about that.

All I can think is, Donna would be so proud of Felicity for wearing those fuck me shoes. Then she would ask to borrow them for date night. Or going to the bakery.

That sounds like a book I heard about. I didn't read either it or the fic, but the plot sounds familiar to me.

Excellent catch. AmerTek? Now I'm thinking the newbies go undercover and I want that for the original team members. Even if it's understandable that both Oliver and Felicity are too well known to just blend in. *pout*

I don't know if I've ever left a negative comment, but even I find this line of thinking uncomfortable. By all means, don't be an asshole to the writer, but I feel like there should be an opportunity for dialogue between the writer and the reader. If I have enjoyed what you wrote, I'm going to leave you a note about what I enjoyed about it. But if something perplexes me, I also feel I should be able to freely ask why you zigged instead of zagged. On a different front, I think I'll be dropping Run to the Water. I deeply enjoyed the first chapter, however, I can't seem to connect with Oliver and Felicity's (semi-)grown up versions. To top it off, in the latest chapter the writer made Laurel Maybe there's a deeper story there. In which case, if anyone here is still reading, please, let me know. But it feels like score settling at this point and that's not what I look for in fics.

By applying that reasoning, it could also be argued that FP is not going to affect the show at all. It was also said at SDCC. I understand your hopes about erasing parts of the last two seasons, even if I disagree with that approach to writing. However, you're assuming the writers would erase parts that you didn't like and I think they honestly enjoyed those story beats.

What irritates me most is that one show has a huge influence on another. I watch Arrow. I should not be expected to watch The Flash to keep up on what is going on on this show. This is the reason I am so glad that Arrow pushed out The Flash in that EW poll. I don't mind that The Flash has bigger ratings or more promotion. Those things don't affect my watching experience with Arrow. This fucking does. Also, it is the perfect tool for a four show crossover and they wasted it.
