  1. I don't think LVP should have brought up the card, but Erika also shouldn't act like she wrote out this very heartfelt note and is so offended that LVP didn't think she poured her heart and soul in to it. She wrote an entirely appropriate form letter type condolence card that was perfectly acceptable given their relationship as exclusively work colleagues. I think Lisa has entered the anger stage of grieving and is trying really hard to suppress it (and not doing a good job of it). That's why I think she went for the condolence card and also why as much as she says she's over the dog thing, she seems still angry with Dorit. The dog issue becoming a real part of the story is now squarely on Kyle. She could have just declined to tell Rinna anything and definitely didn't need to make the "Dorit's allergic to dogs" quip. And the BS about "we're just really uncomfortable about all these side conversations about the dog" bullshit was hilarious - then stop having them! As far as the kill shelter thing, I think the reality of the situation is that almost all "shelters" as opposed to "rescues" do have some rate of euthanizing and since Lucy was not found as a stray, she would have been closer on the list to being euthanized than a dog picked up off the street. What saved her was her Vanderpump Dogs chip.
  2. I think the key difference is “my husband of 37 years”. My mother has also been to every one of my dad’s appointments- married 40 years. Vicki & Debra have never had successful long term relationships, maybe part of their problem is they don’t know that they SHOULD show up for those sort of things.
  3. I'm not saying that she's lying - at all- I believe that she has an allergy and I believe she made the call. But with all the available ways to know what you're going to be served ahead of time, and considering the severity of her allergy, I would have thought she would have noticed when she checked in, asked when she boarded and then if they were still serving fish, gotten herself off the plane prior to take off. No problem with her raising hell over it, but I feel like she willingly put herself in the situation when she had so many avenues to discover what was being served and remove herself.
  4. Did you believe Red Bull would really give you wings?
  5. I’ve had it before on a South American route- it was actually pretty good. On most airlines now, you can log in up to 30 days before departure & as little as 24 hours before takeoff to reserve your meal in the premium cabins. It’s not like she had no way of knowing what was being served.
  6. I actually really liked this episode. Even though we can't possibly know exactly what John was doing and a lot of this was fiction, I'm cool with that - it's a dramatization after all, not a documentary. However, I do wonder if production interviewed some of the other women he "dated" or reviewed his online dating activity to root some of this in truth. I did find myself thinking, "man, if this guy put the amount of energy he puts in to his con in to a real profession, he'd be super successful." Do we know if Deborah filed for legal separation? I assumed so when she filed for the protection order, but I'm not sure. If so, wouldn't that have solved the issue of car ownership? If Deborah purchased the car prior to the marriage, and they were legally separated how could he claim it was marital property? Just having the fob doesn't mean he owns it, otherwise who would ever valet their car?! Plus, who hides in the bushes before taking a car they had previously agreed was no problem for him to take? I hate him. I understand Deb's desire to try to just make him go away. She's very naive and even after everything she learned about John she thought if she gave him what he wants he'd leave them alone. Do we know if her lawyer told her: no contact with John under any circumstances? Or did he just assume she knew that was obvious?
  7. Yes. Domestic & international- never has there not been a menu in the pocket outlining the food offerings for the flight (same back in Coach, actually). If I had a severe airborne food allergy, I’d check the menu immediately, regardless of how many times I had called. I’m not sure, but from Bethenny’s account, I thought she noticed that fish was on offer before they left the gate, which is why I thought it was weird that she didn’t just get off. I have no problem with her very valid complaint about them serving what could be a very deadly allergen.
  8. To me, it makes sense that Carole would think of Carolyn as her best friend. By the time Carolyn came on the scene, Anthony was very sick again & much of their time was spent with John & Carolyn- with Carolyn even staying with Carole when Anthony needed treatment in Washington & the couples sharing a summer house. I know people think Carole made more out of their friendship than was really there, but I think given the time period they knew each other, it’s very likely that Carolyn was Carole’s closest female friend.
  9. What I don’t understand is this: apparently she saw that sea bass was on the menus prior to take off & asked that they not cook/serve it & the flight attendant told her that wasn’t an option. Why didn’t she get off the plane while still at the gate, then? Why put herself at further risk? I understand that she called multiple times to confirm that there wouldn’t be fish, and shame on the airline for not being truthful, but get off the damn plane when you see it as a menu item while still parked at the gate.
  10. I don't think she could have purchased one on him if they were already separated/divorced, unless they had some assets together. I'm sure she got it when they were married early on in case he died so that she had something to replace his income.
  11. A huge majority of titles were abolished after WW1. Especially throughout Germany & Austria- the successor states to the HRE. There are plenty of Hapsburgs (& Romanovs) running around still referring to themselves as Grand Dukes & Grand Duchesses, and a ton of of German & Eastern European “princes”- it’s all bullshit at this point. My point was that at some point in history, the family had the title & is still known (colloquially) by said title, especially in Europe. I still don’t know that I believe Carole was flat out fired. Mainly because bravo has always said they don’t make those decisions until after the reunion airs. However, I do think it could be likely that the powers that be did NOT want another franchise to be impacted by a fight similar to Vicki & Tamra & said, “agree to make up & film together, or you can’t come back.” That would make Carole’s insta statement of not being willing to go against her values make sense.
  12. Very true. I'm not saying I think they're better than anyone else, I'm just pointing out that the family did/does in fact, hold that title. To me, if I was Carole (or Luann) tosay I was a "Princess" or a "Countess" would likely just be fun cocktail talk and nothing more. Sort of like a friend I have who won the Miss America Pageant - clearly she's not an actual representative of all Americans, or a queen by any means, but it's fun to through out at a party as a bit of trivia. Nothing more, nothing less.
  13. He was a direct male-line descendant of Mikolaj "The Black" who, in 1547 was created a hereditary Reichsfürsten (Prince) of Nesvizh & Olyka. It was actually a pretty big deal, because at the time, only 5 other Polish families were granted the title of Imperial Prince. Yes, at the time the title was granted, that branch was Calvinist. However, the children of Mikołaj "the Black" converted to Catholicism and the title continued to be passed down throughout the generations, right on to Anthony Radziwill. Obviously they aren't rulers anymore, nor do any of them have any sort of inherited political power, but they are descendants of the princely line
  14. I think it's unfair to try to characterize it as though Carole was being a dick. Everyone knew Anthony was dying. Even JFK Jr. expressed frustration with Anthony lacking the ability to really admit that he was dying and allow everyone to start saying their goodbyes and making their peace with the situation. In her first season, Carole tells Heather in St. Barth's that she wished she had some sort of goodbye with Anthony, but that he fought all the way to the end. I'm not saying it wasn't his right, but it had to be excruciating to be watching your spouse die right in front of you and then suddenly have the people you felt you were going to lean on for support once he passed be killed. I think it would be an incredibly isolating and terrible experience and to act like she wasn't entitled to feel a huge amount of grief would be unfair. As far as the part in the book where she mentions being on location working and kissing another man- I totally understand. Her married life had been nothing but care-taking. In one moment she wanted to feel like a normal 30 something woman. I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying I understand how in that moment she did what she did. I also think it was incredibly honest of her to be willing to write it.
  15. Not true. The Radziwill family was granted princely status in 1515. All descendants bare the title & style of HSH Prince(ss) Radziwill.
  16. I think it's also fair to point out that Carole really doesn't use the princess thing except here and there and generally in a pretty tongue & cheek way- it's not her whole identity. In What Remains she even joked around that she had an invitation addressed to Prince & Princess Radziwill framed and hung it over her toilet. On multiple occasions she's said it's silly to try to use it in the US because we don't have royalty. They definitely seemed to have some kind of additional income, even by the way they lived in the book- I'm pretty sure JKO left Anthony some money. But she also mentioned how Ralph Lauren did their entire apartment as a gratis thing for letting the place be photographed for a magazine, so they also had a lot of nice stuff by way of trading on their name. At one point they also sold one of JFK's rocking chairs to the second highest bidder when another one went on the auction block.
  17. At the time, there was a Greek monarchy (the monarchy and the military dictatorship was on and off through the early 70s). He was also a Prince of Denmark, and member of several German houses. He not only renounced his rights to the thrones of Greece and Denmark, but also his membership in those royal German houses and took the surname "Mountbatten".
  18. Just because someone doesn't choose to use their title, doesn't mean the title doesn't exist. He couldn't renounce his title, there is no mechanism to do so. The title came from the Holy Roman Empire, so in theory, one could argue that the title ceased to exist when then empire no longer existed in 1806. Much like one could claim that the title of Count de Lesseps no longer existed once France became a republic. I suppose there could be a strong argument that no one's title is "real" unless the country where said title was issued still acknowledges their nobility and monarchy. Carole was pretty clear in several interviews that she wasn't happy about the tag line they wanted her to use: I may be a Princess, but I'm not a drama queen. She also mentioned that she wasn't happy about having to mention the Kennedy connection. However, we also know that she said when asked why she did the show she said something like: Being a best selling author gets you the best table in the restaurant, it doesn't pick up the check. So we can assume she did the show for the money and mentioned the title and the Kennedys for the paycheck. Personally, I don't see her as someone who milks the "Princess" title in the same way that Luann milks the "Countess" title.
  19. He didn't abdicate, he opted not to request to legally use it in the UK, doesn't make him less of a Prince. Prince Philip signed away his rights to being Prince Philip of Greece & Denmark, The Duke of Windsor signed away his rights to be King. Stas didn't sign away anything.
  20. But they are, by courtesy. Kate is legally "The Princess William, Duchess of Cambridge, and so on..." and Meghan is legally "The Princess Henry, Duchess of Sussex, etc, etc." You can only put "Princess" in front of your first name in the UK if you are the daughter of the sovereign or a male-line granddaughter of a sovereign. However, the Radziwill family was of Polish decent, and their title came through the Holy Roman Empire, so the letters patent of the UK wouldn't really apply to Carole. Regardless of what anyone can say about her, she really is- Her Serene Highness, Princess Anthony Radziwill.
  21. She is a "real" princess through marriage/by courtesy. All spouses who take on a title have said title by courtesy, they don't have the title suo jure (in his/her right). Sort of like the Current Countess Mountbatten of Burma inherited her title from her father and holds said title, suo jure - however, her mother, held the title of Countess by courtesy due to her marriage to The Earl. For a more obvious example, Kate Middleton's courtesy title is Duchess of Cambridge, since her Husband holds the Dukedom- she isn't Duchess in her own right. Just because Stas Radziwill didn't get permission to use his title in England, doesn't make him less of a prince, just a prince that didn't legally use his title in England. He was a Polish Prince, not a Prince of the UK.
  22. Bullshit. As partners, they jointly decided she would stay home and take care of the kids and the home-front. Without her support in that, he might not have been able to work as much and make that kind of money. She was "working" on the domestic front, something they both agreed to. Any money made by either of them during the marriage was "their" money, so no- he wasn't paying for everything, "they" were paying for everything.
  23. YES!!!! To all of this!! I feel like I'm a crazy person because it seems so obvious to me that Bethenny is orchestrating all this insanity and Carole is just trying to have a peaceful trip for the sake of the other girls and calmly address the situation, then I come on here and everyone else seems to be seeing the opposite of that. It's interesting how we can all see different things out of the same scenes.
