OMG, I forgot about this picture. What isn't shown is Darcey's other shoe with the broken heel, presumably gallant Jesse has scooped her up and carried her. Once we analyzed the photo a few times, some sharp-eyed viewer asked the pointed question, "Where is her BODY?" We know she's very short, especially in the torso, but there's absolutely no room behind Jesse's torso for the rest of her. I'm also noticing she was keeping her "eyes on the prize" even back then.
