  1. They had the typical "We're filming" sign out in the lobby when I arrived (a couple of hours before she got there), but I didn't see any cameras with her or near her. Perhaps they'd shoot scenes inside the actual salon and I missed them when I was filling out my paperwork in one of the small offices for my dress.
  2. Thank you so much! Thanks! These hips don't lie, which make it challenging to find clothes sometimes, but I'm learning to embrace them. If you look at the reviews for Kleinfeld on Yelp, I've found a lot of people also writing very good reviews about Shay. Thank you. I actually wanted to wear something that made me look a little more like a woman, hence the fit and flare. I was avoiding princess, but didn't want to be a sparkly streetwalker ;) I spent less than $5,000 on it, too. Contrary to what the show makes it seem like, you can get a dress for less than $5,000 at Kleinfeld. Thanks! And no. That dress is ivory lace over blush (it was sort of pink). I'm getting ivory over ivory, so traditional "white". My skin tone can handle a crisp white. Soooo many of the dresses had a blush undertone, though. Very trendy. Thanks! I have to say, all Shay. That was the second dress I tried on. The first one was beautiful too, but he could tell where it was hitting me in a bit of the wrong places and put me right in this one.
  3. Absolutely. I really have no idea, because it's all lace at the bottom. They do have my height. Very curious about this as well.
  4. Saw her in Kleinfeld today. Her two daughters were with her. I guess she was looking for herself, as she's newly engaged.
  5. Thank you so much! I am not a fan of strapless. I feel so bare chested without straps.
  6. So my dress is definitely a bit glitzier than I originally envisioned...I wanted fit and flare, though, with these hips and this butt. I wanted to look like a woman, not like I was going to a sweet 16. When I put it on, though, I fell in love. And yes, I most certainly did call it a fairy princess stripper dress ? I have no filter. I blurred out my face just in case my fiancé stumbled upon them. Thank you!
  7. Went to Kleinfeld this week, and I did say yes to a dress. A dress I am completely in love with. I’m actually disgusted with how often I keep looking at my cellphone pictures all giddy with excitement. I never thought I’d be so emotional over a dress; I pretty much only wear dresses in my everyday life (petite, complete pear shape. Finding pants that fit is a nightmare). That being said, my consultant was...SHAY. I hadn’t watched recent episodes, so I had no idea who he was (my mom recognized him, though). I googled and I was in shock. I could not have asked for a better consultant. He was personable, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable. He’s GREAT at what he does. He really listened to what I liked and didn’t like*, and he definitely knew how to fit to flatter my shape. He didn’t bring out anything ridiculous or drastically different than what I requested (I know my shape and what does and does not work). He stayed within budget, was great with accessories (I did NOT want strapless, so he picked straps to add that honestly look like they were made for the dress), and was absolute PERFECTION. You guys, I seriously could not have asked for a better consultant. After shopping at a couple of places on Long Island and being really disappointed, I am so glad I decided to drag my mom to Kleinfeld. Shay wasn’t just good, he was shout his praises from the rooftop type good. I would never apply to be on the show, but I seriously wish they featured my appointment instead of the manufactured drama (and now I’m convinced it’s all manufactured). I went with my mom during a weekday, and I tried on about 9 dresses. The most dramatic things that happened: - everyone clapping for me in the salon when I *did* say yes - Danielle “Prostitution Whore” Staub from the Real Housewives of NJ was walking in with her entourage (including her daughters) as I was walking out. *I specifically stated that I wanted nothing to do with Pnina or anything that resembled a fairy princess stripper dress. My request was honored.
  8. It doesn't. Let's just say I used to work for a boss who had mouse ears, and he would show up with his wife and boyfriend on vacation frequently. Let's just say that perhaps I used to work in a very specific area of this place that gave all of the VIPs tours. When a celebrity guest likes you, you become their tour guide every time they visit, so let's just say I've actually seen this in person due to a coworker being JT's guide.
  9. Having spent a month on a GJ last year, yes, that is entirely possible. There were times that my gut may have told me, "Hey, I *think* this person may have done ________" when it came to a certain charge, but you are read the law and vote true bill or no true bill based on each charge individually. I took diligent notes and weighed the testimony/evidence, which is how I voted and discussed each charge. Many times people were indicted on specific charges, but not all, because there just wasn't enough evidence presented that lined up with the law.
  10. Yep. I did a Disney College Program, and people get married there ALL the time (Hey, if you're willing to spend the money, you actually can have a gorgeous, classy wedding at Disney without any presence of characters. Wouldn't even realize you were in Disney World, depending on the location you picked. The place is twice the size of the island of Manhattan). Anyway, long story short, the location I worked at (which could be anywhere, really, if you had the money) was a frequent venue for receptions and would often be closed to guests for weddings. The catering department would always give us Cast Members in other departments (merchandise, ride operations, management, etc) the leftover food. They were unable to donate it because of liability issues.
  11. NY now is the total opposite. Because of our opiate/heroin problems, not ALL prescriptions, not just controlled substances (including antibiotics) must be filled via electronic prescriptions. We already had the registry for controlled substances. Costly for many doctors to update their systems. It takes the doctors awhile to input the script, too (it's a more involved form than a prescription pad). My doctor was so backlogged on prescriptions when I went last month. Hopefully it'll get better.
  12. I love when she threw the first pitch out, and changed on camera. You could see that her belly was soft. She isn't obsessed with working out 24/7 like some of the other women, and wasn't ashamed to show that on camera. I liked that about her; it was a real moment. I could never imagine Kyle doing that.
  13. I have a fat ass. 5'2", 24 inch waist, a completely flat stomach... and a gigantic bubble butt. I mean, to the point where it's difficult to find pants with those proportions. Personally, I'd rather have my fat ass than no ass at all. I've never heard a guy complain; quite the opposite, actually. I didn't realize we've gone back a couple of decades where having anything other than a flat butt was something to be ashamed of? LVP makes some unfortunate clothing choices, yet. Sometimes, those dresses are a bit too tight and inappropriate, IMHO. However, in jeans and a t-shirt? I still think she looks flawless. I could only hope to look half as good when I'm her age. Damn.
  14. It's interesting watching the first season now. At the time I was a lot younger, and now we know a hell of a lot more about Slade (ugh). I kind of found Jo to be a bit of a brat, but at the time, I was a lot younger than Jo. Watching now, I find her a lot more tolerable and fun. I think it was on some kind of looking back anniversary special that I really enjoyed Jo's commentary. I'm glad she got out while she did. Those first few seasons of OC were great.
  15. I don't know. I'm 5'2", with a huge (REAL) bubble butt, thick thighs, and wide hips. My hips are 37", but my waist is 24". I'm a total pear shape, and I gain nothing on my stomach/waist/upper body. No boobs, so it's accentuated even more. The corset makes her waist look smaller, and her hips themselves are wide. When you sit in that position, the thighs look even larger. I THINK it's just the way she's sitting that makes it look more extreme. Either way, it's ridiculous, and I cannot see the appeal of waist training. Didn't we learn our lesson after the Victorian Era? Guess not.
  16. This. I just took a peek at Kim's Snapchat, and dammit, I was pleasantly surprised with how cute I thought it was. Mason and North blowing on noisemakers at Rob's birthday on video over and over with the large words "Annoying alert" on top made me laugh. I'm sure people will jump on her for that, but those things are annoying. Also: Kanye's HUGE smile around the kids. Sidenote: I loathe Kanye, and even I enjoyed seeing that.
  17. I have a father who has been diagnosed with NPD by three different psychologists. While I do not know Caitlyn Jenner personally, true Narcissists are far more skilled and calculated than she. Someone with NPD will absolutely have a big ego, yes, but they will be smart enough to make it SEEM like they are all about their children or other people in public, then show a completely different face in public. If someone has NPD and those cameras are on, you bet they will make themselves look better through their SELFLESS actions, or how much they can't stop putting their children or others on a pedastal. You will catch a glimpse of their inflated ego here and there, but when they are "on", they never miss an opportunity to show their carefully cultivated public persona. The real selfish, "ego-maniac" side doesn't come out until the doors are closed and the curtain is down...and it is borderline unimaginable. For years, I questioned my OWN sanity becuase of my father's flip flopping and absolute denial of his own actions even 5 minutes prior. I can't say what Caitlyn Jenner may or may not have, because I don't know what she is like when she isn't edited on camera. I can tell you that my father is 10,000 times more awful, hurtful, abusive, and manipulative. He is a master at gaslighting. Is Caitlyn selfish? Yeah, I think so. Is Caitlyn the best parent? Nah, not so much. I think she's made some really bad decisions when it comes to her kids. Do I think that Caitlyn has NPD? No. I just don't see it.
  18. LOL thank you for this. I'm a teacher in NY, and I will defend public schools to the death. I have four certifications, and the schools in the area I grew up in are and were top notch. However, watching this show is making it more and more difficult for me to defend the US public education system. Then again, didn't Mama Dawn say something like "If I thought you WAS a real drug user I would have called Corey?" Hey, there's only so much us teachers can do when that's what kids hear at home. *face palm* I know that drugs affect everyone differently. Personally, painkillers and opiates make me unable to function. That being said, methinks that Leah is just full of shit. Look at how many times she denied that she was going to rehab for an addition in this episode alone? She lies through her slurred mouth, er, teeth 24/7. We've seen her nodding off all season. She's not on adderall, here. Girl is just pulling stuff out of her ass for the cameras/Mama Dawn at this point. I wonder if Mama Dawn is THAT much in denial, or just trying to keep up appearances knowing that they're being filmed.
  19. I almost feel like she was getting high as a kite 24/7 knowing she was going to rehab. I thought she was going to drop that baby. Even her brother was looking at her all side eyed. I wanted to scream "Dude, take your kid!" at the TV. I was very relieved when the child was removed from her hands.
