  1. Yeah, where I live, the very beginning was preempted because of college basketball and then the celebration aftershow (the university in my area won this particular game). I almost turned it off because the aftershow seemed like it would drag on, and I'm not a fan of watching sports/things related to sports on tv. While not the best ratings of the season, it did fairly well, in my understanding. Also, if a little area like where I live can have game premptions (the only time I can remember that happening is when some major news event or bad weather and the stations make way for local news), I'm certain larger areas also had preemptions. Now, I'm a Reid fan, as many of y'all know, but despite that he wasn't there, it was an ok episode. I like Rossi, but have been annoyed by the recent storylines he's gotten, just not my cup of tea...or in my case, coffee. Having said that, I thought that this episode reminded me of why I like Rossi (he's my second favorite male, third favorite character overall). This storyline was good. I do wish, and this may be just selfishness on my part, that Reid had somewhat been mentioned-even in passing or like Reidfan said, that "one member of our team plays chess . . ." However, as I don't begrudge the show when it doesn't mention any of the other characters when they are not on, I won't begrudge them of that. I'm glad that Yates won't be around to torment Rossi on his birthday ever again. I did like the throwback to when they would ghost, as Harry put it one day (when the team would insert themselves into the crime to get into the mind of the unsub and to figure out what and how it had occurred. )They used ghosting a little differently as Rossi imagined himself and Yates chatting and eating dinner, but I enjoyed seeing it. That was always one of my favorite parts of Criminal Minds.
  2. Someone posted this on another forum. http://www.tvguide.com/news/criminal-minds-team-member-surprise/
  3. I loved all of Reid's scenes. He was so great in all of them, especially the scene where he was trying to "Speed Read" through the papers and had to stop for a moment, showing a lot of emotion as he thought about his Mom. The scene where he got the call from his mom was spot on too-the phone call and his rumination of it. Great acting by MGG, as usual. I also loved both his scenes with Prentiss. I noticed, like someone else did, that when in "work mode," Prentiss called him (and Alvez) by their surnames, but outside of work (well at least in "wind down, coming home mode"), she went personal with the use of "Spencer." In paradox to the scene Reid and JJ shared in which she hugged him. The characters simply haven't had the same friendship they shared prior to season 7. It happens and as this is a thread about an episode in season 12, I won't rehash old news. The hug and her caring for him, though she tried, it didn't seem as natural or as meaningful as when Prentiss held his hand. I am sure that probably speaks to the history of the characters, but moreso, the fact that Paget and Matthew are close friends in real life, made it all the more real. Not saying that AJ and Matthew aren't friends, they are but it's easy to see Paget and Matthew as closer. The Wheels Up thing, didn't bother me.I know I am in the minority for that, but it just didn't irritate me. *shrugs* I loved that Cherry (I think was her name), was able to keep her head and get into the unsub's head so that she could escape. Yes, she ended up caught again, but without her earlier attempt, I'm sure he would've killed her. It was interesting about the the silo climax. Of course, it was obvious that the team would be fine, but I found it an mostly fresh "unsub death." Neatly enough, I saw in a behind the scenes picture that they used cereal for the grains. Makes sense. Funny, the other show I watch on a regular basis, Chicago Fire, had a scene a couple weeks ago where the firefighters had to rescue a man who fell into a truck bed of grains (I think, could have been "saw dust" but I'm almost certain it was grains) and they too, used the same type of cereal. I don't think we need yet another team member but I'll see where it goes. Hopefully, he'll treat current members with respect.
  4. Due to an autoimmune bone disease I have, I can no longer donate, but prior to that, I had done all the work to be a donor if needed. I felt that the show shouldn't have said "months" either. Well, I liked Casey and Severide's brief moment :)
  5. I liked Casey's devastation about the child. Jesse did a great job. Monica as Dawson, had, to me, the worst fake cry. might just be me but it sounds so fake to me.
  6. That would be some disguise! :) lol, I do those slip ups lots
  7. Sheesh. He needs to wear permanent kneepads or something. I thought I was accident prone!
  8. The accent over the 'A' just tells you where the emphasis is, no? Not the actual sound the 'A' would make? Whether the A is pronounced like in 'Albert', or like in 'fall' is probably more dependent on the actor, and some people may not even realize the distinction, but I don't think it has to do with their skill at languages - it's very common for surnames to be pronounced in an Anglicized way, rather than however they should be pronounced in the native language. I have to agree with this. My last name, despite being an "easy" one, is NEVER pronounced the way it truly is supposed to be. I've gotten so used to it, that when I DO hear it pronounced correctly, it's jarring. It's a Native American name, but everyone pronounces it anglicized. I doubt it has anything to do with an actor's ability at other languages. Also, as the character is new, there could have been some discrepancy amongst TPTB of how exactly to pronounce it. I did have a laugh a few weeks ago when the BAU went to the Luray Caverns-and NONE of them pronounced "Luray" correctly, as someone who has been there many times, it was funny. Oh well.
  9. Old dog, I think it's a matter of preference. I often think that the episodes lack something, but for this episode, for me, I think it was a rather good one in all aspects. I was satisfied with how they handled Hotch, they didn't have a ton of options, in my opinion :) but I respect that you feel differently. :)
  10. It's cool how everyone has different opinions. Halsted is my favorite character and I don't like Rhodes. To each their own I suppose. In any case, I liked this episode. It was interesting. :) I do have to question some of the TB stuff ( I had latent TB several years ago -the same type that April started out with) but oh well. I try not to focus on thst sort of stuff in a show or it would drive me batty between the TB I was treated for and the RA I have (which apparently they used in another episode)now. Someone brought up the fact about the doctors (Halstead, et el ) should have known about the birth control complications with it. I don't know this for certain but is it possible that she was on a medicine that typically didn't have those complications? I know what I was on, they never warned about that. So that's just a legitimate question.
  11. I really loved this episode. To me everyone was on point and per normal, Matthew did a fantastic job of directing :)I would write more, and I was going to (I was waiting until I was off to do a more in-depth review but well life happened and this is as much as I can write at the moment. ) It's amazing how there can be so many different opinions on the same episode. :)
  12. I'll be honest, I really, really loved this episode :)
  13. Here's a very brief video Matthew did on the episode tonight (Elliott's Pond-he directed it) Matthew
  14. Here's a brief article on tonight's episode (with a couple of videos-one new, one shown before) ET-Elliott's Pond
  15. From his Australian identical twin, Dr. Robert Chase. :D In all honesty I liked this episode, other than Gabby and I feel bad for Always-Sad- Lewie. Casey is my favorite character on this show, so I enjoyed seeing him in "peril" (obviously knew he would escape ok). :)
  16. Hey there, I PMed you on Twitter. I am so sorry that happened to you.
  17. I liked this episode, minus the ending where Reid should have been the one to talk the unsub down. What gets me is that according to cbs, the similarity was deliberate. They wanted people to flash back to Reid.
  18. Remember they said something about episode 14 being a big but fun episode. And KV said that nothing would top A Beautiful Disaster because it was someone's leaving episode but it would be big
  19. I think that the show is guilty of have Halstead do something and get into trouble for it, but Rhodes does it and everything ends up fine. I just hope Halstead won't turn into the character that has everything thrown at him. He's my favorite but any character doesn't deserve that.
  20. I know I'm in the minority, at least here, but my favorite character is Halstead and I loved the scene with him visiting his old teacher :)
  21. I'm so glad that I wasn't the only one to think Gabby was being awful to Casey. I was glad to see Severide gently rebuke her but I wish someone would tell her where to stick it. Also, Louie always looks miserable. Is it too much to ask that the social worker see that?!?!?!
  22. So y'all may know this, but Criminal Minds won't be airing a new episode tonight due to the game. http://www.spoilertv.com/2016/11/cbs-pulls-primetime-shows-for-2nd.html#disqus_thread
  23. Same here. This is my favorite hairstyle on him. Same here. I wish to see him on occasion with glasses on to.
