  1. Perhaps the writers decided that they wanted a more perky funeral. Something is brewing in Salem, as townsfolk are dropping like flies. Andre has yet to spill the beans regarding Fatha. A town steeped in rich DiMera history and evildoings. Usually floral type shrines/markers are placed at the accident scene. Maybe the Town Square was a stand-in. Thought Melanie's backless dress was a tad inappropriate for her father's funeral. Too bad none of the former patients dropped by to talk about Daniel's renowned bedside manner.
  2. Nicole is free to love anyone she wants. Love does NOT equal 'relationship'. Teresa's need and insecurity is what will do her in. Give Brady some space and let him choose what he wants. Men can smell desperation. Although nearby women get a strong whiff. Not like Brady is the last available man in Salem. No interest in Belle/Shawn/Philip at this time. None of them compel me to watch. Don't really care. Give me a reason to care. Deimos is a bit of a wildcard and is a bit more interesting.
  3. Mr. Bug Eyes wouldn't have bigger eyes or ears or whatever because he had limited speech. His speech, if any, would be dependent on evolution - his climate, the air around him, surroundings. Other types of creatures he interacted with. Was he a predator? Prey? His larynx, lungs, teeth, etc. would create his speech/language. Also the size of his brain. I didn't like SquidMan. Liked both top looks and would have been happy if either had won. Both were good in their own way. The better and more realistic one did win (more proper anatomy to create the language). The headdress was beautiful. Believable language and alphabet (if necessary) would be very difficult to create. Especially complex interactions. Which would also involve physiology. Human communication is mostly non-verbal. Developing languages would be a cool job. Interesting challenge.
  4. Like a Weekend at Bernie's? Soap-style? Unfortunately, at some point, Stefano will start to smell.
  5. Maybe she baked some a while back and they've been in the freezer.
  6. The paranormal never goes out style as long as there are good stories. Morgan, Morgan, and Wong, and of course Vince Gilligan set the bar for a lot of today's shows. CC, although vilified and rightfully so, sometimes for the mytharc mess, was still a trailblazer for the mess that became other shows.
  7. 'The Host', featuring Flukie, was one of my favourite episodes. Also one of the more realistic ones as a creature/mutation such as him could exist. Pollution, radiation, sludge, yep. I recall that a lot of stuff didn't get past the Fox censors.
  8. Andre also could have used some of Stefano's good alcohol to clean up his bloody face. Steve could simply take Ava to the police station and have her charged/brought in for questioning. She may be more interested in talking if she has to face being behind bars. Steve is supposed to find her son within a few minutes? I don't think so. Bullying and cyberbullying is a very important issue that faces a lot of kids these days. Especially when it comes to much talked about teen suicides. Abe and Lani should be getting involved, along with Theo's teachers. School zones should not be bullying zones. The teen scene is kinda lame.
  9. Back in the day, viewers were X-Philes, or just Philes. On the original X Files messageboard (well, I think I joined a slightly more modern version in the late 90s) there were also the Shipper and NoRomo camps.
  10. She was bigger then, now it's a second-hand dress that is probably poor etiquette to use for a wedding so close to the first one. It reminds her of Ben - the man she loved for ninety seconds. Best to use it for a third upcoming wedding. People will have forgotten it by then.
  11. I enjoyed the episode. Old-school Skinner. I'm surprised that the Dept. of Defense guy in Skinner's office wasn't his usual office companion. I don't know if Mulder and Scully are agents again, or FBI consultants, or what. I did chuckle at Mulder's encounter with Gupta. His home at the end looked far different than his apartment and sofa bed. I hope that the eps do give some idea of what happened to William. The doctor's kids had very impressive psychic abilities. Show censorship and what you can see now has changed since the 90s. I do know that a lot of stuff was cut from the original series as it was too 'dark' and couldn't be shown. I did like that Mulder took care enough to grab the fingerprint of the guy to open his phone.
  12. Canada's Space channel will also be running the episodes - I think the first one is Friday at 9 pm EST/7 pm MST. I'm lucky to get the Fox Rochester station, which has the show at 6 pm this evening my time. Record it and watch it later. And use the CTV feed at 9 pm as a backup.
  13. Maybe if there had been a flood and they got moldy. Given office space constraints, that space would be either a cube farm or storage.
  14. A little exposition-heavy and dry. I did smile at the Carterlogue/Mulder voiceover at the beginning. For all its previous walking thesaurus pretentiousness during the show's initial run, it was a nice 'welcome back'. I did enjoy Dana's eyeroll at the conspiracy theories. They never go out of style. The X Files did start before the Internet took off (I was a member at its official messageboard). The current world events tying in to the new conspiracy was quite interesting. I did like the alien spacecraft that crashed. I felt sorry for the little grey alien that was killed. Free energy is fascinating. More realistic than Stargate's 'wormhole drive'. I liked seeing the old office. I did expect that the I Want to Believe poster would have been quite dusty by now. Too bad Mulder destroyed it. Enjoyed seeing Skinner. Not keen on Sveta being the new 'key to the X Files'. Maybe Gibson Praise will come back. Also enjoyed seeing Glen Morgan's name on the credits.
  15. I normally don't wear heels at home. Maybe if I am just coming home from somewhere, before I have had the chance to slip them off. With back issues, Jen should maybe wear a small heel - like 1-2 inches at the most. I find most flats painful. I found JPL's shirt being opened a bit sleazy. The Kiriakis men are normally well-dressed and groomed. Belle does have a choice in her marriage. If it is empty, it's time to have an adult conversation with your husband about it. She is 50% responsible and needs to find what is missing within herself. Relationships do run their course. No need to behave like an entitled bitch and be a slightly older version than Abigail. Abigail doesn't appear to be spending much time with her newborn or has much interest in him. No idea if she is on any sort of actual maternity leave from work.
  16. This week is Gena. I wondered where she actually wore that see-through 'mermaid' top - maybe to a club. I found the large neck tattoo distracting and a bit overwhelming. Maybe it works for a more creative job field. It may hold you back in more conservative fields or simply doing life stuff like looking at apartments, condo boards, taking kids to school. Body ink just isn't my thing. I wonder if she will still like it 30 years from now. Most of her shopping clothes fit fabulously. I did like the final look and I did like the hair and the hair colour. Hope she keeps it up.
  17. Brady already does that with Theresa. Daniel is just more of a good thing. Nicole does deserve better - a guy who isn't someone's leftover or a sloppy second. She is part of a possibly good up and coming business and that's the focus. She's learning how to finally put herself first. Not be jerked around by the not-so-saintly doctor's whims and projections. BlackMamba, Hope did marry Aiden and she probably would have some unresolved feelings for him. She did receive the 'crazy' neighbour's warning about him, she checked in to his past a bit. Maybe it's not 'mourning' but some sort of acknowledgement that she loved him, married him/wanted to commit to a life with him, and was his wife for a few hours. Until Chase finds a family member with whom to live, or finishes high school and starts working/college, he's her stepson. Had Aiden been able to be be honest with Hope about his gambling debt and the DiMera connection, maybe things would have been different. It's strange that the Salem PD (with great sarcasm intended) didn't do any sort of investigation in to Aiden or checked his financial records/had some informant/snitch mention his owing money to the DiMeras or whatever loanshark they were connected to. And why he would copy the Necktie Killer, especially since he had shown very little behaviour that would link him to the murders in any way. Absolutely, Hope needs a counsellor to help her deal with her trauma.
  18. PVR only recorded the first half hour. Rafe needs to back off a bit. Hope has buried two husbands in the space of a relatively short time. She's already mourned Bo and didn't seem too grief-stricken with Aiden. Maybe she and Abigail can get together and compare notes. Rafe seems to have a hero complex or one of rescuing women. Who are more than capable of rescuing themselves. Wonder when the building housing Stefano's remains will blow up. I've heard that donated organs do carry a residual energy of their previous body, so it's likely that Brady may have some Daniel sensitivity. It doesn't usually last that long.
  19. I hope the beauty consultant uses a brush or sponge to take the foundation from the 'stem'. Otherwise, it's way too easy to contaminate the product (many people do not wash their hands regularly), and it's not good if she uses the same product on many of her clients.
  20. Having the baby was a bit of an inconvenience. She was able to fit in to her old clothes quickly and didn't seem to have any common issues/challenges of just having a kid - excess weight, being tired/no sleep, needing to heal, etc. etc. She'll tire of Chad soon enough. Someone better will come along.
  21. Chess and checkers are board games. A chess or checkers piece, along with the black and white game board.
  22. Belle and Philip seemed to stay in a cheap Vegas room. With the Kiriakis money, you'd think he could splash out for the Venetian or a high-end hotel with a spacious room. And playing strip poker in the hotel room? Um, yeah, the casino set would be too pricey, as would a location shoot. John the Pawn seemed a bit too.... gullible. If something is too easy, hello red flag. Eric discovered the incredible smell wafting from the hospital morgue. Dearly departed Daniel should be residing in some funeral home by now. Except for wedding deposits, what is Abigail's rush to marry another dude? Spend time with your baby and do yourself a favour and have some 'me' time. Why is there an addiction to having a man in your life at all times? Women today are independent. Is Jenn asking for some rent?
  23. Valentino shoes are not normally in my budget. I've looked at a pair of Rockstuds, but was disheartened to learn that the studs like to fall off. Very expensive too with the low Canadian dollar. A bit overhyped. Some do go on sale but not normally in my size. There was a pair of lace bow pumps that I liked a few months ago, but at just over $1000 per pair, a little out of my full-price pricerange.
  24. I don't use sponges. I have a couple of foundation brushes. I use my fingers for the most part. My current foundations (EL Perfectionist and Armani Luminous Silk, plus Armani Maestro) have pumps or droppers. For a more natural look, I don't use the brush. For evening, moreso. I used the brush more when I had a foundation that didn't have a pump dispenser. Too gloopy and messy. Too easy to get bacteria from my fingers in to the bottle, too easy for the foundation to oxidize. Found it much more hygienic and it's easier to wash the brush than spend a lot of money on sponges that you throw out.
  25. No one stands out for me, yet. The winning look was the best of the lot. Had the lollipop been a bit brighter/happier, that probably would have been my first choice. The yellow crayon was too yellow. Boardgameman was badly executed. The contestants seem to not know about whimsy and charm - just horror and sci-fi.
