  1. I didn't see subtitles for the German, which is weird because I saw them for other episodes that had Spanish (but i'lm watching downloaded episodes, so quality probably varies). I thought they left out the German ones intentionally but evidently not. So I think I got the gist of the story- Poussey is in Germany where her dad is stationed, hooked up with a blond girl, her dad caught them and he engineered a transfer of Poussey's dad back to the U.S. Was anything else important said in the subtitles that i missed?
  2. They know all the challenges ahead of time. Jasmine could have fashioned a beard that ties in the back or something. You didn't have to use adhesive. Just goddamn excuses. The bitter queens think they are so much better than the young queens, but then two of them end up in bottom two. Ha! And what's wrong with caring about your aesthetic above other qualities? The old queens seem to think there's only one way to be a drag queen. I still remember Jasmine greeting Kennedy on Episode 1 as if she were some sort of drag superstar already. I have yet to see anything interesting from Kennedy.
  3. RuPaul's people always do a great job creating these song/choreographed numbers each season. As soon as they said it was an airline safety video, I knew it would be a play off the fun Virgin Airlines safety video. I enjoyed the songs, with all the different styles of music. Too many screams though, maybe two or three too many quotes.
  4. I enjoyed Andre and Rhonda's "college look." The stylist really worked hard on this. Andre: hoodie with Penn logo Rhonda: sweater tied around shoulders, ivy-style
  5. In episode 1, even though I liked Max's look, I didn't like the lack of eye makeup. I feel like this is necessary to really transform the face from boy. However, episode 2, I appreciated it slightly more when I could see Max pulling off more of a Jennifer Garner face.
  6. This is what I wanted to comment on. I didn't watch the Byron season but if they did the same exact thing with men, no one can say it is sexist. I was hoping, however, that it would be two Bachelorettes for at least a few episodes, maybe until fantasy suites if that's not too much to ask. I wanted this to be Real Chance at Love. That actually had an interesting dynamic, with the girls having to pick sides and the drama was when they wanted to switch to the other guy. I mean, yes it sucks for Kaitlyn if she ends up not being picked on night 1 (if that's what they are really doing), but come on, no one is promised Bachelorette. It's already winning when you have prominently been on one season of Bachelor with a positive edit. She has a ticket to go out and get the hottest guys to date her. She can look at this with a positive spin and say, I got a bonus episode. If more, great. If the only difference between the coming season of Bachelorette and Season 6 Bachelor is that viewers were attached to Kaitlyn, then it's only viewers that are hurt. It's not more hurtful to Kaitlyn than it was to Jay. If anything, it is better for Kaitlyn, since she has tons of fan support and it opens up lots of other opportunities whereas Jay was completely forgotten. Kaitlyn is a strong woman and she can handle it just fine if she's sent home on the first episode. 100% agree that "Bachelor Nation is divided" = Producers wanted Britt; female fans wanted Kaitlyn. I'm not saying let's ignore female fans, but the guys in casting are probably leaning Britt and you don't want a situation where the guys get there, pull up in the limo, and are disappointed. Then you get the awful Ashley season.
  7. I loved Ru's callback to Roxxxy Andrews when she saw Trixie's dress, "Is that a sequins dress?" Now, do Ru and the judges come up with all their quippy comments at that moment or do they see the dresses ahead of time and think of jokes at their leisure (or maybe later in voiceover if they think of more funny comments)? I've always wondered about that. Probably all of the above.
  8. Where I thought they were going with the deputy director opening: Gordon stays out of the running but gains more confidence and earns Harry's trust later on with something major at the store. Mr. Grove and Miss Mardle compete for it and Selfridge chooses Miss Mardle, then she has the upper hand on Mr. Grove at work, which makes him uncomfortable and puts him in his place. We didn't get a scene of Miss Mardle's reaction to not being chosen but I'll assume she just handled it maturely. Mr. Grove is being silly. The store is called Selfridge's, so clearly the guy named Gordon Selfridge should be deputy director if he wanted it. Where I thought they were going with Doris: The baby daddy becomes a problem and at some point wants custody of the baby, then Doris has to tell Mr. Grove what happened. Where I thought they were going with Miss Webb: Some past victim writes to Selfridge about how this woman swindled them. He then confronts her. I'm wondering if she has caught feelings for Harry and that's why she wants to cut out. Her partner's greed is probably going to get them caught. So I guess what I'm trying to say is this show is doing a good job of surprising me. Loxley: what a turd, paying the bail of Kitty's attacker. This actor is hilarious though. He's so good at playing a smug villain. Remember in Season 1, when Victor's boss said you were hired because you're good-looking? I didn't really see it then. I don't know if it's the 1919 hair but Victor seems 100x hotter in Season 3.
  9. All the music is on Spotify, with all the multiple versions of songs too. I made my own playlist. So that Veronica (bald singer) was lured away pretty easily. Way to be loyal. All it took was getting "Kanye" to guest on a track with her. Although I guess she felt like Empire was prioritizing Tiana over her and maybe she was mad that Lucious beat up her cousin. I love how all Empire leadership went into panic mode. I'm sure most of the artists were locked into contracts for long enough. Don't they just need to worry about the ones who were in negotiations or their contract ending soon defecting to Creedmoor? Why did no one find out whether Anika told Beretti about the ALS? That's all that mattered. I wonder why she didn't tell him. Maybe she thought that would be going too far, i.e. put her life in danger.
  10. I agree. I like runway, but this episode I was all runway'd out by the end of it. I didn't love this new Untucked either. This was just a couch and random conversation. I liked the Interior Illusions lounge and the Gold bar decorated nicely and with classic Ru pictures, the pink box, Absolut cocktails ready to go and everyone sipping them conspicuously in between shade. I don't miss the videos of some of their family members who now accept them, it's nice for the queens but I feel like we played out that moment so many times.
  11. Sharon Needles arguing with Phi Phi: "Tired-ass showgirl." Phi Phi: "Go back to Party City where you belong!" Think this was in the same argument- Sharon: "I'm the future of drag." Election challenge, Dan Savage questioning Sharon about her platform, "What happens when you are down in the polls?" Sharon: "Oh, I like being down on a pole."
  12. I just watched Season 6 a few weeks ago and then 15 Fan Favorite countdown. I was confused by Adore's popularity on this list, but figured I missed whatever the buzz was in real time. I'm surprised she even made it to top 3 because her drag seems unpolished to me. My favorites are: 1. Sharon Needles 2. Alaska 3. Alyssa Edwards 4. Willam 5. Raja Now that I've caught up on all the seasons, I agree Season 5 was the most entertaining.
  13. How Perez looks right now (shaved face, clothes on body) is the most acceptable (i.e. I am less likely to seek out eye bleach) he's looked this series. The idea that Katie Hopkins is not two-faced due to the fact that she says the same things to others as she does to a person's face went completely over Katie Price's head. Katie Hopkins criticism of both Katie Price and Keith Chegwin was accurate! Katie Price and Keith are both majorly holding back because they don't want to look bad in front of the British public. This show is about celebrities interacting with other celebrities and experiencing all emotions- anger, sadness, joy, friendship, combativeness, resentment. We want to hear opinions! Nadia is an idiot for accepting Perez's framing of what he overheard, especially regarding Calum. From what I saw in that clip, Calum decided to cook for everyone that night and for his dish, he announced he wanted to cook something light, such as chicken and vegetables, as a change of pace (my interpretation). He did not say anything to the effect of "Nadia is a control freak in the kitchen and her heavy food tastes like shit" as Perez made it sound.
  14. I'm surprised how hard I was rooting for Mei. I think it's her vulnerability, seeing tears in her eyes after we've become accustomed to tough, no-nonsense, same facial expression Mei all season. I thought she was so arrogant episode 1, but she is much more relatable now that we know her family non-support. I was highly disappointed that Tom Colicchio and producers could not find 4 Mexican artists to highlight. Doug's artist was a white lady from Texas! Or did I hear that wrong? Her art was the worst and definitely the easiest for the challenge.
  15. I had been thinking Jade looks like Robin Tunney, but I can definitely see the other suggestions.
  16. Virgin Ashley seems so desperate. Calm down! She and Mackenzie are too immature for Chris. I am not opposed to heavy makeup or women wanting to look their best, but the massive giraffe fake eyelashes are getting out of control. The wedding crashers date seemed like fun (even if possibly fake) and I could see the two of them as an actual couple. Kaitlyn is a textbook "cool girl." Gimme a break with that being-ok-with-the-Bachelor-banging-all-3-women-in-fantasy-suite-as-long-as-you-are-F1" BS. We'll see what tune she's singing if that actually comes to pass. (I hold out hope that she was just playing along with Jimmy's bit for comedy purposes though). I am getting annoyed with the editors about the unnecessary censorship of Jillian's butt. I do not think she is overexposing herself. She clearly does a lot of squats and has a shapely, muscular butt. What is so inappropriate about the shape of that? I've seen plenty of other (flatter) butts with an equal amount of exposure (i.e. fabric wedged in crack). The editors are making it seem like she's walking around in a thong, or that her butt is pornographic or something. This is unfair to Jillian. I really doubt her butt is hairy either. That comment seems to be just the other girls being catty.
  17. I find the house dynamics this season so interesting. Perez is the polarizing force by which the rest of the housemates have chosen a side. Pro-Perez: Nadia, Alicia, Patsy. Anti-Perez: Cami, Michelle, Katie Hopkins, Kavana, Calum. Fence-sitters: Katie Price, Keith Katie Price and Keith are good with both sides, except Keith has been called out for sitting on the fence and Katie Price isn't. Perhaps this is because he HAS a side (anti-Perez), but wants to appear neutral as a strategy of gameplay? Things everyone thought would happen but didn't: Katie Price will fight with Katie Hopkins. Everyone will hate Katie Hopkins. Did anyone else watch Katie Hopkins' special where she intentionally gained weight and then lost it? Part 1 aired here in the U.S. on Sunday, on TLC, called "Fat and Back." I don't think most of the US has any idea who she is. She seems to be a very fit lady in her normal life (a runner) and then when she gained 50 lbs, all the weight oddly went to her face/neck and stomach.
  18. Really disappointed Geraldo won again. Ian almost had him!! Dammit TO! It's all his fault. I am unsure of the editing, but when Ian decided he would be PM, did Geraldo then decide HE had to be PM or was that already decided? And did he do this to help the team (i.e. no one else on his new team could have raised as much to compete with Ian) or to help himself (if his team lost, Geraldo would be at risk for firing?)? I didn't think it was fair for him to be PM again when others haven't done it yet, although I realize episode 1 was technically 4 tasks back. Other people's charities should have the chance, although I guess it is incumbent on those celebrities to speak up. Trump should just pull a Lord Sugar and decide for himself who the PMs for some of these tasks.
  19. Keith is a NATIONAL TREASURE. .... oh is that not enough info for you? I'm sure it is obvious to UK folks and they probably didn't need to explain much about their celebrities, but I did have to look some of them up. Apparently Keith is a long-time tv presenter, mostly from morning shows. I'm trying to think of an analogy, but American morning show-type people I can think of tend to start from journalism, not acting, like Keith did. Based on a few minutes of wikipedia, I would say he's like Regis Philbin.
  20. This season is already better than last year's CBB, drama-wise. I didn't want to see Jeremy booted, as I thought he had a lot of entertainment value for the season ahead, but BB really had no choice, given how Chloe reacted. Everyone handled it maturely knowing BB would do whatever needed to be done, except Perez ("I don't feel safe")...please will he STFU. He really thinks every situation revolves around him. I know Katie Hopkins from when she was on Apprentice so I know she is a villain and all, but I love her for always being the one to call him out. I viscerally hate Ken but I did laugh when he and Perez got into their argument later on, when he called Perez an "irrelevent American" and was charging at him in the bathroom (I wonder if that counted as some kind of attack). Ken is racist, dirty old perv and he can go ASAP, maybe after he and Perez yell at each other a few more times. I honestly thought Jeremy was still drunk and believed Chloe was hitting on him in the bathroom so he made a move and obviously was mistaken, and seemed sincerely sorry afterward, but BB had to remove him. Katie seems to have a soft spot for Cheggers, I noticed this from the beginning that she wouldn't say anything bad about him. Do they have a friendship outside the house? I thought Nadia would be chill but she seems to have a complaint constantly, whether it is bathroom habits or what Katie/Ken/anyone is saying that offends her. She is the offensive police, butting in when the offensive thing said wasn't even about her. The other housemates can defend themselves just fine.
  21. Perez is the most annoying and most fake person there, but I'm glad people are seeing it. He acted like launch night was a party hosted at his house. Pathetic that he greeted every person like he was their best friend and stated the 3 facts he knew about each one right off the bat. What is the point of doing research? We want to see the ones who don't already know each other get to know each other organically. Even how he talks... he sounds like Madonna's fake british accent.
  22. Jamie's charity sounds more like political advocacy than a charity. Shouldn't the chosen charity help people in some way, besides the snowboarders, who of course wouldn't want to see places with less snow? Yeah... I must have missed that part where she took on Trump about climate change.
  23. In hindsight, what needed to happen for the women's team is that the biggest fundraiser, whoever that is, needed to step up as PM for this first task because that is how Joan Rivers' team won the first task in her season. Did they say which woman raised the most? (If it was Keshia, then never mind.) I feel the men's team, since they have a deeper bench, it is not as crucial that your biggest fundraiser go first, but for the women, it is.
  24. The firings have been disappointing so far. I feel Trump has prejudice against the younger contestants. I really thought Keisha and Kevin didn't do a bad job and really acquitted themselves as leaders for their age. It's really easy to be completely dismissed by your team if you are the youngest one trying to lead. I would have preferred Kate fired in 1st episode for not raising money, then Lorenzo as Trump's fall guy (yes, Kevin's fault for not playing strategically), then I guess I'm ok with Gilbert as 3rd firing as he was not a serious candidate to win anyway. However, I feel that the guys did better both in the Neat commercial and the Luvo presentation (except for Gilbert's few seconds). I don't get how Infinity won those tasks, but I guess the guests made the ultimate decision on that. I didn't see what they saw, apparently. Yes, she seems like a competent person so far. I've never watched her on RHBH. I don't have anything all that negative to say about her yet. Apparently she and Kenya have some sort of rivalry? Haven't seen much about that yet. I did think it was a bit unfair for Kate to paint her as nervous and Brandi accepted that characterization in the boardroom, when it seemed to me like Kate was overly focused on lunch and not worried enough about the task, that is what caused Brandi to get anxious and try to get stuff done faster. Geraldo seemed to think his voiceover voice is akin to Morgan Freeman's and no. Some people would hear him and have a negative reaction. I also don't think he is as recognizable as he thinks. Mike Rowe was a great choice- without a doubt he is a voice that people TRUST- and might as well use him if offered.
  25. I'm just speculating, but I think the rules Jen didn't want to discuss regarding her spoons from last episode was that they have to make more than four. She was one short of whatever that number is, but rather than sacrifice a spoon for close-ups or whatever they use the extra spoons for, the rule is to take it away from the judges' tasting spoons. I'm sure Jen didn't agree with that but is not really allowed to complain about behind-the-scenes rules like that. I would like to see a Nigella team get further as well, but there isn't a way to do that without sacrificing the team-choosing process in some way. There would have to be some contestants who are awesome chefs that put her as #1 mentor choice. NO ONE would do that, though. I do not think the show is all that concerned about her team performing poorly every season. This is what everyone's expects, what with her being the home cook and getting the worst picks of the draft, whereas if, say, Anthony's team is the first one entirely eliminated, that would be embarrassing.
