  1. You shouldn't use sealed bags in flight. Most interiors go down to 11 PSI. You can use a goose neck bag close with rubber bands.
  2. We are waiting an hour before going out to some of the places that have Veterans Day events. Watching Christmas Joy. Product placement times 100. Almost as bad as the Stallone movie that was one big Taco Bell ad. First shot of the lead, she holds a Hallmark folding card that turns into a display scene, lot closeup on the Hallmark. Every major indoor scene has either a closeup of a Hallmark ornament or a Balsam Hill box being unpacked. The only exception is the small town elderly relative who gets injured taking down boxes of Christmas decorations, forcing the lead to leave her important city job to come home. No sign of Hallmark or Balsam anywhere in that scene.
  3. Jack and Uber aren't the finest at following directions. Just so everyone knows, military equipment cases are so expensive because they have to both equalize pressure and are waterproof
  4. I like Hallmark Mysteries, and like most Hallmark Christmas/Holiday movies. A Godwink Christmas is on (lead agrees to marry a man, then a better man comes along so she runs along with him and dumps the guy she is engaged to). These type of movies, whether Christmas or beach resort where the girl leaves the boy because she runs into her high school crush while her fiance has to work for three days for a work emergency, don't feel good. These might work if they were Lifetimes where the fiance backed her into it through blackmail or started slapping her around, but in rosecolored Hallmark land they make her seem dumb and a slut.
  5. Enty says the actress who plays Cathy refused to casting couch for season 2 and got fired. Okay, so not only is Jack too stupid to lock up classified mission essential photos, but the DSS agents don't know to drive though an ambush? They murdered a sitting senator. Every single person in congress will vote to send most of the US Army and Marine Corps into that country.
  6. I agree with the candy cane/chocolate idea. I am the viewer who spent the whole movie wondering if Jodie's huge smile was real or if she needed implants due to meth mouth. I also was wondering why she trades in hubbies more often then we trade in cars. But enough of the movie seeped through that, other than the business direction foolishness, this was a good, fairly tight, movie
  7. It was just booze? Like it wasn't mixed with molly or anything? The story line and writing wasn't great, but Maura looked great. Did you think in 2019 the Halloween costumes would be more demure than the usual actresses' attire?
  8. Red sure gets caught a lot now that the writers ran out of plot ideas. Plus Kat is annoying.
  9. Watching the Hallmark replay of A Christmas for the Books from last year. HTH did Chelsea Kane not get another movie with her fun high s*** manic pixie christmas chick? Switch up the usual barrel curl big city calm lead for someone who needs to chill a lot to win the boy and save the hometown christmas [parade/barn/diner/school]
  10. Watching Hope at Christmas-Scottie Thompson's lead character single mom is mad that her ex is taking her daughter cool places for the holiday and thus rejects the love interest of a new, better, man. Every fourth scene is pimping out books by Nancy Naigle in the background. I fire up her name in google. This chica literally writes about a quarter of all the Hallmarks. I had no idea.
  11. I watched both Hallmark preview shows. I like Candace Cameron, and I like Hallmarks. The Mysteries and Movies show did nothing for me. It just didn't click at all. That being said, at least one of the lead couples was Black ETA: Maybe two couples. One of the main Hallmark channel movies had a Black guy and a lead who is either light skinned or Hispanic
  12. Journey Back to Christmas. Candace Cameron is a WWII era nurse who falls through a time shed and ends up in 2016 small city New England. It is a little different than the usual Hallmark plot because she and the police chief do not fall in love because she has a husband off fighting the war and (spoilers-- two other things that actually are pretty cool). However, there is an eye rolling scene where the chief's daughter is using the ipad with her and she is totally confused. 30s/40s were the era with Buck Rogers and Dick Tracey. Her only surprise should have been that it wasn't watch sized, and that we don't have flying cars.
  13. Landon is the Mary Sue/Harry Potter. Somewhat more serious observation. Hope is the Superman, but for the other people to solve tasks, Professor X has the whole manor full of witches and supers. How about asking some of the other seniors if they want an adventure
  14. Just watched. Waited until I knew there was a second season to start watching. Lizzie just went from being someone struggling with a mental illness to being an evil person who made everyone else's life worse mostly for amusement. That isn't fun or interesting, it is annoying at best, and mostly bad TV. If they want to make her a villain, then do a story arc where everyone figures out she crossed the evil line, not a bottle show.
  15. I was sort of looking forward to the new new one. The new Crossword and Red Herring were way better than the first one of each. They must have some marketing numbers that say an extra week of Christmas is the way to go. I agree with a holiday mystery, even if it is stand alone. Christmas would be cool, but Halloween too (lots of jump scares as the plucky lead explores the scene which is also being set up as the haunted park).
  16. Working from home. Appetite for Love is on in the background. It caught my eye. IMDB says this was Taylor Cole's first Hallmark, and they had her get a blonde color that makes her look like a stepford wife. Then the supporting actress best friend is Fiona Vroom, who usually is the murderer or red herring in the Hallmark mysteries. Then the conflict finally arises, and the head waitress at her old boyfriend's business actually tears into Taylor. Not Hallmark land scenery chewing, but pure 'I hate you'. Keep waiting for a dead body.
  17. Brittany Bristow, who has been the supporting actress in a bunch of Hallmarks, got promoted and got her own. Holiday Dates. Noticed her during the promo they ran during the new murder mystery. Just a few months ago I was thinking she needed to get promoted. She was faking a French accent for the Love and Chocolate movie and hardly broke at all.
  18. October Kiss came on. Ashley Williams, one of the tier 2 Hallmark stars, does a great job in a Halloween themed movie. She is very likable as Pooppy the babysitter for the single dad who has a lot of work stuff. I like Ashley...but her character is a new wave flake and the other woman as played by Miranda Frigon is a professional woman who is smart and cares about the kids. Poppy commits by the month as far as helping the kids. Everything about her is 'about to deuce out to LA or NY' The kids would be better off if the OW won this one
  19. Fall Harvest Countdown. We did a brunch that turned into a few stops and came back and fired this up. Love Struck Cafe. It is actually fun. I IMDBed the lead, she did this in-between TV shows as a regular. She is good, the main love interest cranks a lot of Hallmarks and does a good job. The conflict isn't terrible. I almost had an issue with her city boyfriend/wannabe fiance being obviously 10 years younger than the lead, but you go, girl. More importantly, it is well well staged and shot. You want to live on the street the cafe is located on.
  20. When I was at a law firm it was common for trial dates to be at least 2-3 years after the case was filed. In real life, if they did stick it out for trial, the leads would be dropping off their child at day care on the way to court.
  21. I thought I deserved an afternoon off, and decided to watch this action packed episode live. New Nina didn't have a lot of chemistry with anyone, and Nina the character lost a lot of the previous scene chewing element. This is like watching a high school play where the lead actress was picked because she is the head cheerleader, and has no idea how to act. I wish I had a fast forward function. I think the FF button is why it hasn't bothered me as much until now
  22. Did Hallmark change the rules on decolletage? Both Jessica in the romance this week, and Danica and her sidekick in the mystery, were showing more than the past movies on Hallmark, and I had read they used to be very strict on it.
  23. Finishing Matchmaker Mystery off DVR. 1. Love Bruce, since Tron and B5. 2 I liked the detective, he was business and only let her tag along when he was backed into it. 3. Danica is always cute. She is also really good at showing a range of emotions-- she and Candace are probably the best at Hallmark at that. 4. They gave her super people reading powers to justify the plot and it mostly worked. 5. I way prefer the show inserting a placement ad for adopting a rescue pet, instead of Balsam Hill 6. The adoption angle of Angie was nice, glad they insert a thing like this as opposed to the 'blood is the most important thing ever' in most romances. I also thought Angie and her sidekick were over the top a little around the show within a show, but maybe real TV shows are like that. I liked this less than 101 but a little more than the new Ruby and lot more than the first Ruby and Darrow. The movie surprised me on the murderer. Nice job
