  1. Regarding the Felicity Huffman sentencing vs the black woman (Tonya McDowell) who used a false address for her son to go to a different school. She might want to clarify that the McDowell sentencing, from 2011, was part of a plea deal reached after an additional arrest for selling drugs and offering prostitutes to an undercover police officer. Wendy, do the research and tell the whole story, instead of trying to mislead people into believing an untrue narrative.
  2. No, my mistake for not being clear enough. I was talking about the fictional topsy turvy world where any of this is ok.
  3. The same world where said woman calls said man "Daddy"? Falls squarely in the squicky category to me.
  4. It's not an either/or for me. I don't like either one of them.
  5. I'm not watching for the same reason. He seems like a really nice guy, but the hyper coupled with him not seeming to have any boundaries is too cringey for me.
  6. You can usually tell how self-involved someone is by how often they use the words deserve and unfair. Christie uses these words a lot.
  7. I'm glad I spoiled myself on the veto outcome. That way I didn't have high hopes going in only to have them shit on by giant pigeons. Christie bugs so much. Going on and on about the universe and karma, not because she understands that the universe is a better place when we are better people, but because she believes that the universe has one mission and that is to make Christie's life better. We're all self-involved to a certain extent, it's human nature. But Christie? Just wow.
  8. No. It was worded that the top 3 people voted for would have a competition, with first place winning safety for the week, second place receiving a punishment and third place getting put on the block. Since most people would not want to chance their favorite player going on the block, and would love to put one of their least favorite people up there, I would think the majority voted for their least favorite players. One of them getting safety was just an unfortunate side effect.
  9. After the competition, in one of her talking heads, Christie said she was starting to feel like America hates her. I thought "Bless her heart, she still isn't sure."
  10. There were 2 of them. Julie introduced them as River Guides at the beginning of the competition.
  11. I don't think that Jack was coached or prepped for Julie's exit interview questions. But I do think that
  12. There were 47 comments on this episode last year by this time and 45 the year before. There are only 31 for this season. Definitely not the most enthralling season with this cast. This episode went kind of fast though, what with all the fast forwarding of the (slightly more) hyped-up version of Tommy. That's what I wanted to know!! What a dumb ass.
  13. Even if Kat were to vote Jack out, which seems unlikely, the problem is that the "outsiders" don't have a tight bond. More than likely, even if they agreed to vote together, each one would most likely have doubts that the others would follow through. Then you have them thinking that they don't want to be the one who voted the Jack out if the others aren't going to do it and he stays. It sucks because they have the numbers to get it done with a tiebreaker, and they might not have another chance.
  14. Just got around to watching this show today. I think she said cancelled, not cancer. It was kind of hard to hear though.
  15. I think that some people are unclear about the boss and employee relationship. If your boss tells you to do something, you do it. If you've done something wrong, you're going to hear about it and you're expected to correct it. Unless the boss is being a total ass about it or is abusive, just get it done without the attitude. That's your job.
  16. I seem to be missing out by fast forwarding through the recap from the last show and the what's coming up next at the end. It sounds like the VO guy is the best part of the show:-)
  17. That's how I was left feeling as well. I was pissed at the mob mentality gleefulness of the hateful 8 trashing their latest victim, sickened at the smug entitlement and intimidation pouring out of Jack in the SR and just plain sad at the treatment of Nicole. These people have sucked the joy out of BB for me, and that stinks.
  18. That Whacktivity power was so lame compared to the last one. Sometimes, I'm not bothered as much by producer manipulation.
  19. I don't think xKHANx was referring to an unconscious bias against people, more a favorable bias. I think it (the term unconscious bias) was referring to the fact that we all tend to gravitate toward people we have the most in common with, the people who we think we're going to get along with best. I've seen it on BB every season from people of all backgrounds.
  20. Yes, it was. They changed it to Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday for the first couple of weeks. I think it goes back to normal next week.
  21. I agree he was just clueless, I just don't get how you can be that unaware. The change under the bed comment was a crack up, though.
  22. It's two very different situations though. His father, who he was close to, died. He very much wished his dad could have been there, and that's the way they chose to honor him. His mother, though, he is estranged from. For whatever reason, they aren't speaking. A wedding is for the bride and groom to enjoy, and if they didn't want someone there that would cause them distress, then she shouldn't be there. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
