  1. Glad I am able to read all your comments. I started watching from the beginning solely because of Sean Bean. Liked the characters and arc stories, but now I really have no reason to watch anymore. Sounds like maybe new writers and that is why so much character change?
  2. they do come in raspberry, and as a raspberry LOVER, I find them too sweet, The orange, on the other hand, are really good. Aldi usually has them in the fall, as part of their Germanfest/Octoberfest offerings LOVE the chocolate oranges - other flavors, too, and dark chocolate. Now I am hungry!
  3. Oops, too late. Scheming niece is back and pregnant. But is it really Edward's? Regardless of whose baby it is, I think Esther's problem has been solved. Did the voodoo lady Esther visited conjure scheming pregnant niece out of thin air???? 😜 If it makes her happy, I say go for it, but you know it won't remain a secret for long.
  4. We have a vacation home with an in ground pool. My grandfather put in the first version of the pool almost 60 years ago. It has ALWAYS had a fence, progressively higher as codes changed. Now six feet, plus lock on the gate. My father the lawyer used it as an example of an 'attractive nuisance' and said that legally, as long as you follow all the local laws/codes, anyone circumventing the fence would be trespassing and the owner would not be responsible for any tragedies. Tho, to hedge our bets, we have an additional insurance rider for the pool on our homeowner's insurance
  5. Yes, that was the 'code' before everyone became so fascinated with baby bump watch.....
  6. And,that far back, were pending pregnancies even announced? Wasn't it something along the lines of HRH so and so is withdrawing from public appearances for the next xx months? And then the birth would be announced?
  7. My Shu...puma lions? Cannot be what I first thought, can it? Tho, the puma lions if actually puma/mountain lions, would certainly enough the chicken buffet... 1 My Shu...puma lions? 8. That would have been a great question. I should have thought of it. He did say that talking about his cases is a help, but that he does not sleep well. He also said it took him 2 years to become a nicer person after retiring. His wife noticed it one day and brought it to his attention that he was back to the guy she used to know. The scene in City of Fear where he comes home covered in blood and scares the shit out of Kathy happened quite a few times. He said his dry cleaner hated him and he had a friend who sold suits and Joe would go at the end of each season and get a great deal on the suits that did not sell. He would buy a dozen at a time, knowing he would trash most of them. He said that is the reason Homicide cops wear cheap suits
  9. Am I the only one bothered by how different PW is on TV versus her blog. She was delightfully snarky when I first found her blog, and she is ghastly on her show. And then her blog had some recipe that she unapologetically dumped a can of cream of celery soup into something. What happened to making bechamel? It is not that hard. So much combining, so little cooking..sorry for the digression
  10. Thanks, sheetmoss. I will tune in. Aguabella, my realtor did not think the appliances would be an issue, since everything I did was done with the style and tenor of the building. The stager also liked what I had done. I have never cleaned as much in my life. Fortunately, I have a wonderful, supportive Energizer Bunny of a sister who did 80% of the painting, etc. Every time she left my house, her car was full of stuff to go to the shelter, Amvets, etc. She'd hold something up and give me 10 seconds to close.... Keep, toss, donate. And I had to had to have a good reason for the keeps. I could not have done it w/o her. She is even storing stuff in her garage for me. She is a keeper. I just took her on a cruise to thank her!
  11. No problem using my situation as an example. Yes, I did some reno/upgrades along the way. Kitchen and bath remodel. Place came w hardwood floors, replaced white appliances w new whie appliances and since the countertops I wanted I could only find in granite, a semi Holy Trinity. But I also kept in mind that the building is almost 100 years old, so stainless appliances were not even considered. And I hate stainless anyway. I really wish I could just pickup and relocate the unit....
  12. I am trying to find the Chicago episode, especially since they were in Lincoln Square. I have lived there almost 20 years....actually just put my condo on the market. When I bought in 1996, the neighborhood was just starting to be renovated. Don't want to say gentrified, since LS was full of great homes, not exactly well tended - think gramma and gramps having lived in the house for 50 years. Anyway, my new condo (apt building conversion) fellow owners were laughed at by the long time neighbors, since we were 'overpaying'. Well, if I get my asking price, I will realize close to 200% profit. Not bragging, just confirming the area is hot I am trying to find the Chicago episode, especially since they were in Lincoln Square. 13. Carl was responding to a question about how he got the part. Saw the casting notice and said his wife ultimately convinced him to make the drive to LA on the chance of being selected for the pilot. I wonder about the other candidates, since the Kenda portrayal you see is pretty much all Carl. Never seen him in anything else, but not stretching his abilities too much
  14. Needschocolate - funny you should mention shoes. At one point, I even said that I had brought too many shoes! And I pointed out to my sister that the kitchen would have to go where the vanity area cwas in the cabin! I was mentally rearranging things and adding storage cubbies... . We each had a closet space about 18" wide and 2 shelves
  15. Oh, and Carl got the job the old fashioned way - he auditioned, and Joe had no say or veto power. And, in my opinion, the camera loves Carl, since I thin k he is better looking on TV, tho he is still a nice looking guy, in person. From what Lt Joe said, he (Joe) basically does his talking part, and the producers of the show are the ones who decide what is on the screen, from Joe's comments to the scenes filmed and how much of the story is told. Joe records 2 cases a day - 4 hours in the morning and another 4 hours after lunch. Joe seems happy to collect the checks, and I don't mean that in a bad way. It sounds as if Joe and Kathy, while both with good jobs, never had a bunch of money to waste. They raised their kids, got them through college without them having to take on debt, and are now REALLY enjoying their retirement! Joe said Kathy likes riding in limos very much. I will be posting more in the 'My, My, My' topic soon
  16. so, about Carl...he was pleasant enough, but I think most of us were on the cruise for Kenda. Carl appeared at all the sessions in a suit, which I thought was an interesting choice, as Joe was always in a polo shirt and khakis...well, I guess Carl was going with the TV persona? HA! While he did not have a lot of insight for the basis of the show, he gave us a lot of info on how he got the part, how the show is shot, and how they call on the crew when they need extras. I think it might be a little intimidating to be on stage with Joe :)
  17. Just got back from a cruise. Lying in bed one night, I realized our cabin was the size of many of the tinies we have seen. Decided I am over the Tiny House movement and can delete all programs from the DVR.....
  18. City of Fear was screened for us on the cruise. Was weird to sit there with Joe & Carl
  19. Livermorewinelover- great question! Will definitely see if I can get a chance to ask it
  20. I am trying to come up w intelligent questions for Lt Joe, assuming I get the opportunity. Hi Joe, I am paloma58 and I have been sent to scope you out for all the forum posters at previously.tv! I really have no idea what to expect, so it will be interesting. Was talking w my sister, who I dragooned into joining me, and I posed the possibility that Joe goes back to his cabin, pours a Scotch and wonders who all these nuts are. Or, profiles us and is very, very afraid... I am really looking forward to it. Been having a rough couple of months, but the floor refinishers showed up today, so that is progress of sorts
  21. I am really looking forward to the cruise, as things are hectic right now, work and home. I will do my best to give an entertaining report. Also a big fan of Purel and have trained myself not to touch random stuff. I work from home so am really careful out in public. Always afraid my resistance is low. Big fan of EmergenC. Wow, I sound like a germophobe, don't I? have never gotten sick on a cruise, knock wood. I also plan to observe CM from a safe distance!
  22. Don't know if they are paid, but I am sure the premium price I paid goes to covering the cost of their cruise. The cruise lines obviously do not vet all passengers, based on the crime stats that do make the news. It will be interesting how much 'non-Joe' we get. I really do not care about CM. He is not why I enjoy the show. But, for all my peeps, I will force myself to attend at least one Marino session...
  23. Gah. lost my original reply. Royal Caribbean has a cruise in January. A travel company put together a cruise, I presume in coordination w the show. Joe and wife Kathy, as well as CM and others will be on the cruise, with exclusive events planned. In a moment.t of madness, I decided I needed to go and convinced my sister to go w me. No idea what to expect, but I am sure it will be amusing. Had to promise my sister I will not geek out and embarrass her. Most of the attendees will be meeting at a local hotel the night before and boarding en masse. Should be interesting.
  24. This is why I like this show more than a lot of the others - Joe really shows compassion for the victims and the stories are not sensationalized. There are other shows that trivialize the crime and victims and in the back of my mind I am screaming - hey, someone DIED here - show some respect....
