I believe Jill and Jessa are telling the truth as far as they believe it and maybe even believe the discrepancies. They have been doing the 'reality' thing for so long that fibs are their reality. Jana hidden on the Josh and Anna family trip for example. They get my sympathy for being 'victims'. However, I do not want to see this group continue with their tv platform. Jill and Jessa are hardcore cult members. As for being victimized by losing their show. C'mon!! Having the show for all these years means they have money to the good, investments, mortgages paid off that they otherwise might not have, but not having a show doesn't victimize them. No one is entitled to teevee show.

At the beginning of the interview Megyn tried twice to get the girls to respond to the term victim.. they were so set on their agenda that they didn't answer. It seems like it didn't matter who was sitting in front of them and whatever they were asked, they were going to say certain key points. Josh paid for his counselling (wtf) It wasn't a big deal He was really young We forgave him Over the clothes, a few seconds Agenda Victimized by the media This was just another platform for their ministry. I can't believe anyone would want to see these people stay on the air and support/subsidize these people.

Agree. Wouldn't it be something if Josh is the one who confesses everything. In my dreams I wish Jana would talk and have the spinoff after deprogramming, but I don't think that will happen. Jessa and Jill are following procedure for abuse ala Gothard ATI or whatever that chart is. They are able to access social media now. Jessa has 165,000 followers and she follows 12 people. They only want information to travel ONE way. What are they afraid of? It boggles my mind that an interview would have so many things incorrect or outright lies and the interviewer wouldn't point them out. The bogus statistics, the discrepancies regarding the police report all make me think that FOX was not interviewing them, but rather just giving them air time.

Their story appears to be; they didn't know it happened until told, so no biggie. The media unearthed the story and now they feel they are being victimized because their brother they love, is being vilified in the media for something they see as blown out of proportion. Their word choices mirror JimBob and Michelle which make this creepy.

Not just victims (survivors), victims who feel victimized by the media. Two victims who have been featured the most in the show and magazine articles/covers for their weddings etc. edit to add.. Josh is a 'young boy?' He will be an infant soon. He is already 14 who just turned 15.. let that doublespeak sink in. yeesh. Information overload here, but wasn't Josh in a courtship at 14 in one account? A young boy in a courtship?

I don't know Jessa/Jill motivation for the interview, they certainly didn't deserve to be molested by their brother and IMO this would be a private matter if they weren't a public family.. but they are as deep into Gothardism as their parents and for that reason alone I hope they stay off tv forever. I still have hope for some of the other kids and if they WANT to have a film crew follow the while they go 'escape amish' style then fine

Jinger and Joy free! That is the show I want to watch. Maybe on OWN or something, not TLC. (TLC takes too many liberties with the 'truth'). Jessa and Jill shows would be another platform for the Gothard lifestyle, but 2 single fundies experiencing things...yes please! I would love to watch Jana, but I think she is determined to raise her children herself. Or they could do this off camera and just post on instagram. -
Jim Bob and Michelle should have come clean. Maybe admit : They made a mistake shielding Josh from consequences (A lot of parents would relate to that). They tried to deal with this through the incorrect avenues, let it go on too long, and weren't considering the victims. They should have accepted that by letting media into their home, magazine covers, tv specials and by publically speaking about alternate lifestyles and their position, they opened the door for critical media coverage. But liars lie.. They didn't reveal the truth about their religion on the show. They didn't even reveal that Jana was along for the family trip with Josh and Anna. Who knows what other deceptions were on their show.

Glad they are getting away, but I am suspect of all 'mission' work. Maybe she can use social media to inform the rest of the world what they are doing and how other people can help (not the Dillards, but the Nepalese)

So all those girls were jealous of the time he spent with others and started spreading rumours around homeschool?

I feel so bad for 'the five year old victim' (we know, we know). If ma and pa hadn't been so set on running to Fox in an effort to defend themselves and their eldest son (boy child, probably infant by the time of the interview), Fox may not have focused on bad people at IN Touch releasing the document and IN Touch wouldn't have to counterstrike. The Victims are the ones losing as ma and pa and their innocent defrauded young boy try to save the money tree.

Wish TMZ would approach (ambush) these two fools.

Wow, that clip.. Josh referred to as oldest 'child' not son. What does Clinton have to do with this? This could be a gongshow. Kinda can't wait to see the comments on here. This issue is the release of the document? That is an issue, but it isn't the main issue. They also seemed surprised that the MEDIA is FEASTING on a story. Haha, Fox themselves are feasting on this with the interview. I have heard of Fox News and their conservative approach, but wow, had no idea.

JB seems like the type to sue' the people responsible for the release of the document and yet he is bringing more attention to it with his national broadcast interview. He isn't the type to appreciate his entire family personal business to be broadcast (pfft) and he needs to protect his daughters (pfft). Not only does he deflect the issue from his little boys glitch, but he starts to build sympathy for his lawsuit. That is what this is starting to look like.
-
umm, so drawing attention to it on a national news network will help the victims keep their privacy how? Wow viewers will have to be sheep to believe the Duggars are doing the interview because of their victims feelings.

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events

Didn't a minor request the statement to be destroyed? That probably ends that law suit. Wouldn't it be something if the Duggars actually sued law enforcement for not taking action when they brought Josh in. ($$$) -

Jana doesn't need Jim Bob's money. She has to tell the truth and she will make a fortune. Foreign to JB and Michelle, but it would be her ticket out of there. I wonder if a court would give a sibling visitation if they were aware that she was the caretaker? I'm not worried that her reputation could be sullied in the Gothard world, the real world is much bigger and their are plenty of people who can quote scripture and do whatever fundamentalists do and still respect her has a human being. -
I agree, Josh should be holding his own interview. It only add fuel to the fire that the kids are too controlled. Who else has their parents do interviews for them at 27? Young 'actual' celebrities may have the support of their parents but do their own interviews (with pr people input I'm sure, but still). I missed the quote function, but poster MLE saw 'molestion accusations' as a promo bit for the interview. ACCUSATIONS? That bit is already a lie. He has confessed.

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events

I posted on the Jana thread that I believe Josh and Anna, Ben and Jessa and Derrick and Jill should not be featured. They are following closely in JIm Bob's footsteps.. Ben's 'preaching in social media'.. Derrick has lost his balls (or we were misled to think that his education meant he might have some). Any spinoff would be a similar Gothard type crap. If Jana or one of the other girls, or even if multiple kids decide they want to test the waters of a different lifestyle I would watch. TLC wouldn't have to tamper with the storyline. It's the same idea as the kids leaving the amish. Except it wouldn't have to be faked. I would love a series where Jana takes sole custody of her siblings, put's them in public school and gets some education and therapy herself, while the family discovers the world. Jinger interviews a paleontologist? haha? I don't know, but that is the only Duggar show I would want to watch. Maybe TLC couldn't do it though. It might have to be a more reputable documentary channel. -

If there is a spinoff, I would like to focus on Jana. Example A: Jana, Jinger and Joy move on from the compound, maybe expose some details of their previous life, but grow and experience new ways that people live. Imagine Jana or Jinger (more likely) interviewing people about their lifestyle and beliefs. Example B: Jana gets full custody of the kids after Jimbob and Michelle are charged with child endangerment and neglect (fantasy) TLC uses their money to set the family up, kids go to school. Jana gets to stay with the kids. We watch as they learn to deal with a more mainstream existence. But a spinoff of Benessa and Dullards.. omg. how can anyone who watched those boring lengthy wedding courting episodes, want to promote the Gothard lifestyle anymore? Those kool aid drinkers need to be ignored.. Save Jana and Jinger.. One of these days, one of these kids is going to hit the jackpot without smoke and mirrors. They will finally tell the truth and it will be a bonanza for TLC and that kid. I hope it is Jana.
