I'll bet some influencers and youTubers post in the car because the people they live with are sick of hearing them yammer to their "fans" in the house. "You never have anything interesting to say to me. What do you always find to yap about to total strangers? Get out of here and take your phone with you." (not that anybody today would ever not take their phone with them....except me.)

Jer's brother gave them that sweatshirt. He's a digital-media producer for Harvard Business School's fairly massive online operation. I'm guessing he knew how much the shirt would appeal to his little brother's pretentiousness. 😁

Which explains why she doesn't know she looks stupid in a Harvard sweatshirt.

Joe & Kendra: Looking Forward To Side Hugs
Churchhoney replied to Quilt Fairy's topic in Counting On
This is a bunch of people raised on the notion that God will provide for them beautifully if they just do everything he says -- and front and center among everything he says are adamant demands that women not work outside the home, that they pump out as many children as possible, and that they do everything they can to stomp out the notion that homosexuality is something that's built in to people and not a God-defying choice. So how do they square that with the fact that those who are apparently most faithful to God's commands have to buy a damn house for $10,000 or else live, apparently, with their many many children in a ditch or some such? Does this not ever prompt them to re-examine their particular theology and maybe take a little interest in theologies that apparently fit the facts a bit better? Apparently not.- 5.7k replies

Certainly might have happened, but I don't think it necessarily did.....Because the same ugly fact obtains, regardless of whether this was a new contract or a continuation, doesn't it? Book sales are slow these days but "celebrity" stuff still sells. Their sales were a sure thing. not fantastic sales but still, just enough to bring in some profit. Whereas somebody can write a fantastic children's book that gets brilliantly reviewed by 25 publications and authoritative websites. And if the author's somebody people don't "know," the thing won't sell at all. .... So if you're selling books, you'll go with the sure thing. And since the sure thing is "celebrities," that means the sure thing is often also "idiots." It's disgusting how much this will go to their heads. As if Jer needs more boosts for his absurd ego.

Oh, of course. I keep thinking we're still in The Before Times....... or in The Before Times Again. But no......

I guess now we're really in the first period in nearly forever when there is no tv money. And I guess they're probably also scared that the Josh's trial might further taint the name -- maybe even with some of the leghumpers! So you gotta milk your belovedness to bring home the money while you can -- and before everybody forgets who you are,,,,

Well that's a horrible book with Jonny Mac as one of its authors, so it's part of his big job -- as one of JM's leading suckups. -- Christianity and Wokeness: How the Social Justice Movement Is Hijacking the Gospel - and the Way to Stop It Can't stop, won't stop bashing "social justice" work and feelings and opinions as evil and contrary to your faith in Christ..... Cuz Christ would never ever have been interested in creating a just and fair society, doncha know. ALL Jesus cares about is that you believe in him believe in him believe in him cause that's how YOU get saved. (and the hell with anybody other than YOU....) This anti-social-justice thing nauseates me. And maybe I'm paranoid by I feel as if it's gaining strength. The V's "children's book" looks like it would be on the side of social justice. But Nooooo........Caring about a just society is ebil.

Well, I guess their publisher wasn't too upset with their lousy promotion for the other book. This is a Worthy publication as well...Worthy Kids ... Jingle's diehard leghumper following moved their "adult" book past a million much better books -- and that's all a publisher wants these days. They proved themselves in their niche and now Worthy's willing to give them another book -- this one for leghumpers to buy for their kids and grandkids. My prediction -- Next up: A line of cookbooks. And they won't have to actually "write" any of this stuff. Their Creative Arts Agency agent did them a huge favor by hooking them up with Hachette. Not sure why we're supposed to pre-order a kids' book that won't be delivered till next August. But there you are. We'll see how they promote this one. Although I guess it really doesn't matter. Jingle's way way valuable leghumper follower list is all it takes.

I wish he were unsmiling because he knows how ridiculous he looks in that getup.....As someone said earlier, like an Amish (or possibly Hasidic) serial killer....who kills by pelting victims with weird square bricks.... But he apparently really likes that hat. We've seen it before in a video of him driving the car somewhere, I think. It must be his go-out-among-other-people-dressed-up hat.

And his FIL is Jim Bob. There's a "be careful what you wish for" story if I ever heard one. I am sorry that two people who don't believe in divorce and who are parenting a bunch of innocent kids married ill-advisedly and are unhappy about it. But they sure did ask for it. An awful lot of red flags were waving back then.

That's part of why it was bromance at first sight between those two, I suppose.....And also why they're both aiming to be pastors in a misogynist religion. So they can make sure those women feel weak and inferior enough and scared of God enough to believe everything their bozos say. And stay with them and keep giving to them as long as the bozos demand it. ....
-
Yep. There was no need for her to marry at age 19 and immediately start having kids with the guy. As if somehow Cade were the best thing that would ever come along. She must have been pretty sheltered to imagine that that was true. And she was the prize there. At the very least she could have made him wait until she went a little farther in her career.

The Felicity-Evangeline picture is right out of a horror movie. The stickers are just too weird not to look full-on creepy there, in my opinion.. Especially with Felicity's lens-created giant feet and the fact that Evangeline's sticker isn't a face but a pot. I think they should have just posted the family photo by itself. Not all your pictures are worth posting. I wouldn't want to make my kids look creepy. We can see their costumes in the other photo.

Yep, he totally sought it out. We saw him buzzing around MacArthur and posting about him and various of his acolytes for quite a while before he even applied to the long-distance program. It was a very active choice on his part. And once he was in the distance-learning part then he started sucking up even harder. Trying -- and succeeding -- to go there not just for a degree but specifically to become MacArthur's best boy. This place clearly appealed to him more than any other. And he was spending so much time and energy on JM and people who follow the same beliefs that there's no way Jer didn't know what those beliefs are. They don't make any secret of it. And since he got in, he seems to have been networking pretty exclusively with other MacArthur acolytes and pals, young and old. In his mind, he in no way "settled" for something. This seminary and the group that love it were clearly top of the line for Jer -- really the only choice he even considered, it looked like. Like Nike or cake mix with gold in it. 😁 But I think @Lady Jane pointed to the crux of the matter. This is not a seminary where you go to challenge your faith.... And that's right....It's a seminary where challenging your faith is considered to be immoral. It's a place where you learn what the patriarchy was set up to promote and you prepare to vigorously promote it. And that's obviously what Jer wanted -- wanted it without a hint of any cracks in that armor..... That's why they have to try to put younger faces out on social media and such -- what they're selling is totally the past. Not something where questions about the future or even about the present are permitted. That makes hard to attract younger people, so they're trying every gimmick they can come up with. Because they absolutely reject the notion that questioning or rethinking anything is acceptable........Jer may or may not have swallowed exactly the same beliefs as the Duggs and Gothard....but it's close. Equally misogynistic, for example.

Maybe there's a special clause with a loophole for men on the verge of martyrdom. -
Well, really, is there anything more important -- or intellectual or spiritual or character-building -- than imbuing children with a passion for expensive brand names? I think not!

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events

Well, that's one of the facts they state about themselves. .... And to them it's clearly one of the most important facts in the world! It's the fact that's raising them higher and higher on the golden thrones of heaven because they're pumping more and more soldiers for the correct Jesus. I think we know that's the most important thing in the world to them. Long ago they pinned their eternal worth on how many little JB-and-M DNA morsels will be running around the planet 1, 2, 3, 4, and generations ahead. (And Josh is the biggest contributor, by far, so I would guess that counts for something.) We know how much they love the book of Genesis .... And I'm sure they see themselves in what God said to Abraham -- "And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;" I think they take this one as applying to them, too -- but in today's version it's God eventually giving all of the United States to their offspring in recognition of the Duggs' service to God by building his people -- "Then God appeared to Abraham and said, 'I will give this land to your offspring.'" I think we tend to overlook the way they see themselves in the Bible and in religious prophecies. But when they're talking about numbers of babies and grandbabies, I think they're talking about exactly this. ... They don't say it openly because they know that the heathens they're gunning for would be alarmed and try harder to stop them-- but to me the numbers they use are meant to alert others with the same belief that they're building God's kingdom in this country in a serious way and they're proud of it in ways it's hard to fathom if you haven't bought into that kind of a mythology. This is one of the reasons these people should never ever ever ever ever ever ever have been given an "entertaining" tv show. (aside from the fact that nobody should be allowed to pimp their minor children out to tv because it's by definition nonconsensual). Their aims are serious and, in my opinion, dangerous. And their "entertaining" show has won people to their cause, made them into heroes to many, while other people who aren't in on the language see them as just harmless fun and "snark." Documentaries are one thing. "Reality tv" where people with dangerous delusions are portrayed as cute, funny and harmless is something else again, in my opinion. -

There've been a couple of number questions, recently. JB mentioned that they've raised 20 children, and some people didn't know what that meant. He was counting Tyler, but if somebody didn't remember about Tyler it seemed odd. Then the grandbaby-count change was separate, and on Duggar Official. It had been 21 but then went up to 22 -- but without any explanation or discussion. That would be little Mayhem, or Misery, or Miasma, or Melancholia. So it's on Dugg Off that the she's silently mentioned. -

I don't think there was a statement. I think someone reported a couple days ago that on the Duggar Fam Official the number of grandbabies had recently been changed to 22 in the copy there. -

Because you never actually let a rational thought enter your mind? After all, trusting your own brain instead of trusting what Idiots Jim Bob and Meeechelle Duggar told you to memorize is to rebel against God, who gave us brains only to trick us into following "reason" [Satan Satan Satan Alert!] instead of The Correct Jesus. These are not people who think. -

Perhaps this is one of those tiny but extremely welcome hints that Nurie's eyes may be opening ever so slightly to the possibility of putting at least a millimeter of distance between her positions and those of BME.
