I think Houston and Dallas win today. So congrats in advance to Detroit and Washington. I actually flipped a coin for that second game
-
He's gone for real now. ESPN just reported it and Adam Schefter made mention via Twitter within the past hour.

Drink? That's what I'll be doing... Or pass out. That's what I'll be doing (through no choice of my own). I think it started with the establishment of the NFL Network. So yes, within the last twenty years. 2006 to be exact. That addition came with the return of football on NBC, just about simultaneous with Goodell's debut as the commish

Steelers/Ravens is now set for 1:00, still on NBC. First daytime NBC game in nearly half a decade, and it's the first NBC afternoon game on Sunday featuring AFC teams in 23 years
-
I can't speak for anyone else, but it'll be a somber if they move the game to 4:25 on CBS

I forgot to mention this story last week when I heard it. IMO, Gregg Marshall probably would've taken WSA down with him since there may (or may not) be info that will tarnish that school. Well, in some capacity, I can start talking about the games, as they return on Turkey Eve. While I haven't done much on the day before Thanksgiving in a couple of years, and wasn't this year even before my state's leaders nixed any festivities, I would have passed on heading out to party during the slate of college hoops games. Still miss the 24-hour marathon but I love the start of the sport almost as much as I love the end of it!

The first rankings for the College Football Playoff have been revealed. Not much surprise within the Top 4, which features Alabama, Notre Dame, Clemson and Ohio State. Barring something, I don't expect the season to end with these rankings. I personally don't need to see Notre Dame/Clemson Part III. There was an ounce of surprise to see the Tigers at No. 3 but it's not a stunner. Ohio State nearly lost at home to Indiana. Yes they are decent this year, but Indiana should've won given the fact that OSU looked bad. Clemson didn't play, and prior to that, they didn't have their quarterback. I think the committee got it right. Florida & Texas A&M are just outside of those rankings. Northwestern isn't too far behind, and thanks to that (among other things), Cincinnati has no chance at making the CFP

While I still believe Burrow will do whatever it takes to return, I'm no longer as optimistic. At least for 2021. He could, but I'm not sure it'll be right away. When I made my comments, that was based on just an ACL injury, and not the total destruction of his left knee. AP did return real fast, but I don't think Adrian's was this bad. In fact, this may be worse than Carson Palmer's 2005-2006 injury

Well, it's 2020. Though it's gone for good 5 weeks from Friday. That being said, it's a different sport, but the same result: Los Angeles defeats Tampa Bay thanks to the latter doing something stupid to best say "No thank you" toward victory!

I imagine they did. There was discussion a couple weeks ago that some people would be affected by the NBA and their annual quintuple header on Christmas Day. Add that to a lot of people on Thursday, 12/24 occupied with their last minute stuff, Church, dinner, etc. Despite the plan to air them as scheduled, I was sorta hoping it would get pushed back to 2021 because of the holiday obligations (even in this weird year)

Breaking News: Multiple People Within The Ravens Organization Have Tested Positive For COVID-19 The above comes from the Baltimore Ravens themselves. No mention from ESPN or the NFL yet. Nothing from Jay Glazer or Adam Schefter either, but Ian Rapoport noted it on his Twitter Account ETA: The persons or people that contracted the coronavirus within my hyperlink

The Burrow injury sucks. It goes without saying that the guy's opponents are better off without a very good player in terms of winning. That being said, the guy's opponents would want to win with him on the field; no one wants someone else to get hurt. To be clear, and while this season is not the best example, the Browns, Ravens, and Steelers would rather beat the Bengals with Burrow behind center than his backup. If might be an easier victory but the competitors feel much better beating the best the league has to offer. Cincinnati is winless against his division, but down the road that might be the opposite. People knew that they weren't going to be any good this year; they're rebuilding, but there was potential within that organization. At the end of the day, it sucks for Cincinnati since each of their last three franchise QB's have been knocked out of the season due to a major injury. I think Burrow will be okay. He is a rookie, but when he returns in 2021, he'll turn 25 within that season. Way too soon to predict if he'll last as long as Favre, Brady, and Brees, but I think Joe has a lot of years going forward. It depends on his work ethic through the rehab and recovery. If all goes well, he'll be ready way before the off-season stuff. Mountainair, you missed some awesome Joe Burrow stuff prior to his NFL Debut. After his run at Ohio State, LSU was his calling, I believe. Soon after falling victim to the highest scoring game in the history of the sport, including overtime, the most epic run started when the Central Florida magnificent run ended. During that game, he got blasted, but then that might have been a mistake. The guy's tough as nails. After a New Year's Six win over UCF, 15-0 for the Tigers and the best performance of any player. In the SEC. The best conference for football. I'd bet on Burrow returning and being much better. Hopefully he won't get lost due to injury; barring that he'll be fine. Plus, give the improvements for the Bengals (or not), add an off-season program, if all goes pretty well on Planet Earth, Cincy will be better and it'll be like 2020 didn't exist

Same here. There was nothing Vegas could do. They had to score when they did. Maybe if they didn't blow their TOs and scored sooner, Carr might've had time to go down the field

I think Eli will get in. How fast I don't know, but I don't think there are any prominent people that retired in 2019. As of 2019 he was Top 10 in passing yards. Not sure how long he'll last on that list before Late 2024 / Early 2025. As mentioned, the wins against New England & the name on the back of his jersey should help. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if Romo gets in. Actually, I would be surprised if Tony is part of the 2022 class but not shocked. He can thank the logo on the side of his helmet for his possible entry into Canton, and what has been a rather awesome broadcasting career so far

My Week 11 winners (or who I think might win) include Cincinnati, New Orleans, New England, Cleveland, Detroit, Baltimore, New York, Miami, Minnesota, Indianapolis, Kansas City, and Tampa Bay. I'm not optimistic with the Patriots, Ravens, or even Cleveland to outlast their opponents. It's pretty much connected to Jacksonville where they could win or lose no matter what or based on the venue. Then the opposite happens (coincidentally based on my guesses); as mentioned, all 32 teams include professional football players. That might explain why we haven't seen more than 1 perfect team in the past 50 years (and 3 winless, though a couple came within the past 12 years). Speaking of Jacksonville, maybe they'll win or not. If they do, it would be the closest I've seen where an undefeated team with more than half its season completed, lost to a winless team with over half of their season completed (Colts lost in Week One but that was division football). Speaking of which, Pittsburgh might lose or not. If they do, same thing. The concern is if someone gets covid and that person is around key players. The Steelers are playing in Florida, but they have a game on Thursday. Based on guidelines, I'd hate to see the Steelers lose a game due to missing people with not enough time to recover. Of course, the in-game injuries are part of football. If that happens, so be it
-
He didn't look good, but who did he lose it to? I might have to check the contenders a week from now. Trask could get there but I don't know if Florida will defeat Alabama. Today should have been the perfect spot for Lawrence to get back into the hunt, but unlucky might be the lightest word to describe his situation

I really, really, would love to see this happen. Curt should've been in long before even last year, but IMO, if the reasoning for leaving Curt off the ballot is what several think it is, that might be worse than leaving Bonds, Clemens, etc out. I'm not sure this will happen, but I hope Theo's next task is to go to some small market team (no, not the Buccos) since his brilliance has come from Boston & Chicago. I think he could win wherever he ends up, but there's a ton of room for error within a huge market. Outside of Tampa, Milwaukee would make the most sense. Then there are the Yankees; it's been more than a decade since they've won anything. Epstein to New York would change that right away. C'mon, Cano. I can't even say he should know better. It's strict in Major League Baseball. Whatever efforts are there to prevent one from the use of PEDs should be doubled at the very least

Man that sucks. The Warriors were looking to rebound from 2019-2020. I think they were in a great draft spot based off of an awful year that followed half a decade of brilliance. Growsonwalls, I guess we won't know for sure until we see how Durant performs this upcoming season. Cousins isn't a great example, IMO, but if KD were to exceed expectations, it would be unprecedented. Either way, I don't know if I can bet on Klay returning to his dominant self again; two major injuries and he isn't getting any younger

Prior to the latest current news with the Raiders as it relates to the pandemic, I don't think I was picking them to beat Kansas City again, but man. This is the second time this season they have dealt with somewhat of an outbreak, right before a game against one of the league's best (Tampa Bay). Las Vegas could still win, but I feel bad for them for having to put in players that'll play without practice. To an extent, since their leaders have demonstrated that they couldn't care less about this year's guidelines. That looks bad for Judge. Maybe it isn't true, but I don't know if I would've fired someone for kicking my ass. That would be the least of my problems. Sounds like Colombo wasn't pleased about working with a veteran coach to help with the O-Line. That doesn't look good for Marc, New York is awful this year, and while they've won 2 straight (nearly three vs the Bucs), they have a long way to go (with or with Barkley)

Maybe someone can answer this question: What is at risk if TPTB at LSU and/or wherever else would throw the damn kitchen sink at the suspects, any (and all) suspects for these acts? I don't know what I'm missing. Assuming these are valid, how dumb can human beings be. Forget it's years after what happened at Penn State; what the hell was going on over the past five years at Louisiana State University?! I'm sorry, but the fact that this was going on before Ed became the head coach is far from a reason why he should survive. What. A Mess

I don’t want to speak for Carey, but I think the original post said Carey either saw or heard that the coach had been fired and wanted to know if it was true. That was a crazy ending to the game; amazing catch! Thank you Crs. I never asked if he was fired and based off of a crazy ending that wouldn't have ever been Sean's fault. My question was the validity of what turned out to be "fake news" or just in bad info. When I originally saw that I was shocked; normally I would've gone to the previously mentioned insiders before questioning that, but I had a busy day. Sean McDermott getting fired would have been the worst move in NFL history, even topping the final offensive play in the Seahawks most recent Super Bowl. If Buffalo had lost due to a successful miracle from Arizona (similar to how Miami beat New England last year), and they had been 4-6 & on a 4-game losing streak, in addition to the Bills underperforming for the past 3 seasons, then a change would be more reasonable (though I'd disagree with it mid-season). To put a wrap on what might have been more of a bad joke than misinformation, even the Raiders wouldn't have fired their head coach over losing a game the way Buffalo did on Sunday. I wouldn't compare the Pegulas to the Rooneys, I think they can be very successful. Their patience isn't infinite, but I don't think they're cutthroat. Buffalo has a chance to avenge the 90s, at least one of those seasons (Kansas City isn't going anywhere soon, and New England might be dead but that's for 2020). Like Irlandesa said earlier, no one's firing a division-leading HC at 7-3. Although the 2006 Chargers fans and the 2015-2016 Cavs would dispute that! Maybe people will get mad that I might be dissing Family Feud (I'm not), but I put on GSN reruns of Family Feud episodes (which includes episodes from the past decade; nothing from nearly half a century ago). I usually have the radio on for Monday Night Football, but even Harlan & Warner couldn't save this game. Jim Rome is right. MNF is the new Thursday Night Football. Last Thursday was great, and Seattle/Arizona is slated to be the same if not better. Not a great week for QB's; I hope Foles will be okay

IIRC, Adam said the best case scenario is that Drew would miss 2-3 weeks. It may be possible that it's over, if not 4-5 weeks, but if a range of 2-3 was the word instead of saying one week or week-to-week I'm thinking that the worst case scenario is a month from now. There are better people than me that'll know his status going forward, but hopefully he'll be alright going forward

When did I blame the coach for Buffalo's loss?
-
To be fair, Payton is a better coach than Arians, definitely more accomplished. New Orleans has players, Tampa hardly had anything in 2019 compared to this year where Brady forced the 2020 Dream Team on the Buccaneers. If Winston does what he did last year, Hill will be inserted in no time. It's not like Drew was returning next year anyway. However, his injury is not season-ending, but I doubt he'll be doing much going forward. Ben Roethlisberger had a similar injury 8 years ago, and he went from an MVP candidate to nothing. Big Ben was 30 in 2012, Brees is 41 this year
