I wonder if it would it be a record if the NFL on CBS moved to a more competitive game in the first half of a game scheduled within one's region. For example, moving from Cleveland at Tennessee to Las Vegas at New York Jets. In my area, I usually get two early games, with the late game being the national game on either CBS or FOX (both in Week 17). This week, two late games, the national game of the week on CBS and one on FOX. One early game on CBS: Cleveland vs Titans at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee

That is perfect! Typically Philly behavior! I don't think I'd pick them to beat the Packers even if they were decent this year. Cleveland, Las Vegas, Minnesota, Miami, Indianapolis, Chicago, New Orleans, Seattle, both LA Teams, Green Bay, Kansas City, Buffalo, and Baltimore look like winning teams for Week 13. I'd be happy to be wrong if the Titans, the Texans, or the Jets prevail though!

"Us sucking" will never get old, I don't think. He ain't no Pop or Belichick but he takes his pressers to another level most can't get to, at the very least. Really, Roethlisberger does as well. I can't blame them for being cold this year, but you could've gotten this version regardless of outside circumstances

This game might have been the first time I felt worse than I normally would after a loss.

I'm ready for some WAF! That pronounced as Waffle without the "FLE". Not sure what to think if the league ever made Wednesday Afternoon Football a thing in the future

Three years ago, the Steelers were playing the Browns at home with a chance to give the NFL its third winless team in the modern era & its second 0-16 team since 1978. While Pittsburgh rested their starters, they had a chance to clinch the Top seed over New England. In a reverse of two years prior to the 2017 season, the AFC East did not defeat the Patriots in Week 17. I believe the Steelers needed the Pats to beat the Jets in Week 16 in 2015 but NE threw the game (and the next one against Miami where they had a shot at the Top seed against Denver, who held on to it). Pittsburgh still made it in 2015 thanks to Buffalo winning. The Steelers beat the Browns in 2017, but they weren’t risking their starters in what may have been a meaningless game and a meaningless win To best answer your question, Irlandesa : No way anyone forfeits that last game if they have the top seed clinched, or if they’re locked into a spot in the postseason (i.e. wild card or a division winner that can’t move up or down). A team in question needs to hope the league cancels that game. If a team forfeits, then they don’t get paid, and they will add a fifteenth and sixteenth team to the postseason, which wipes away the top seed bye. I think it’ll be the same as before; rest as many people as possible and go from there

I hear they are considering a playoff bubble down the road. We'll see. I would feel bad for a team like Pittsburgh who could clinch the Top seed only not to have one. However, I would not. While the 1978 comparisons are real, the Steelers have not made the Super Bowl as the number one seed since 1992. Of course, the teams that beat them were very close to being the AFC top seed (or in Buffalo's case, and New England, the best team of that period) so it wasn't too much of an upset. I don't think the Steelers are going to hold off the Chiefs anyway, and even if they did, I don't think they'll win a home game against Kansas City to go to the Super Bowl, even if it's a normal year with fans. Same goes for Kansas City, New Orleans, Seattle, the Rams, and Green Bay. It'll suck to lose out on the benefit, but not really. I think the league is focused on a bubble setting close to the team's venue. If that's the case, then great. This year isn't one to get upset over no fans, which would be the case, I think, in the postseason. That's regardless of the state's rules or lack of rules
-
Oh, I know. It isn't "state mandated" but just the area close to where the 49ers operate. I didn't know whether to refer to San Francisco or Santa Clara, and that's why I said "The Government in California" as opposed to "California Government" so as not to place responsibility on Governor Newsom for nixing all sports in his state
-
I have to disagree here. Not about the fans part. No way a tree lighting show is beating a football game anywhere. However, I can't fault NBC at all here. Football is their top program, but they have a lot of other businesses & programming in addition to football. The network was ready for the best game of the year on Thanksgiving this time a week ago. It would've done great, especially with a bigger audience as more people are at home these days. I would bet NBC is more upset with Baltimore than the NFL is and the cost of losing Thursday's game. So maybe the league should do a better job in terms of rescheduling their games so that we're not talking about NBC refusing to alter its schedule for the 3rd time thanks to a some franchise that's been in existence for just one quarter of a century. Well, the NFL is something and 2. As in 100plus-2. The two losses come courtesy of the annual lighting of the tree & before that, the government in California forcing the NFL to redo their plans as it relates to the Niners

I wonder if FanDuel or DraftKings had a bet available on their app on whether the Jaguars & Jets would have fewer or more combined wins than the total number of Ravens/Steelers schedule changes
-
I wonder how Buffalo will perform having to go back to the scene of their painful loss. First time in quite awhile a team had to travel to another venue to face an opponent from the same conference (excluding the postseason)
-
What a lovely game at Lambeau Field! It's going to be like backyard football where everyone plays offense, defense and special teams. For real. Regardless, I imagine that both teams will have more completions than interceptions as a whole
-
The second-to-last thing the NFL wants to do is to have a game on the currently non-existent Week 18. A forfeit is the last thing the league wants. Unless the situation gets worse, there's no reason for them to postpone the game indefinitely. Pittsburgh might end up losing to Washington, who will be super-rested. Believe it or not, that is the one team they can afford to lose to (unlike Baltimore & Buffalo)

I don't know if I would've bet on it. I probably would bet that he never had brown eyes. Maybe he had green eyes at one point or has them now but wears blue contacts. On a related note, I've never seen him with glasses (I currently can't recall if he has). Meanwhile, that Saints/Broncos game looked exactly the way I expected it to look any other day. And I forgot that Richard Sherman was returning today; San Francisco escaped against the Rams and swept them. That NFC West is basically the reverse of the NFC East. The former could've had a team with a winning record in last place if it hadn't been for the Niners' awful luck in terms of injuries
-
I'm sorry, but I'm blaming the Broncos as well. Whether someone wants to say that, "No one knows whether they caught the virus for such close contact without a mask or not," they were in such close contact without a mask, period. Rules are rules. As mentioned, I wasn't picking them to beat the Saints anyway. I do kind of wish they would have allowed former players on their coaching staff to participate given the times we are in. However, rules are rules. And they league did expand the practice squad and other stuff. I like Miami, Arizona, Carolina, Cleveland, Tennessee, New York, Buffalo, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Kansas City, Green Bay, and Seattle to win today. I don't know what to expect with that AFC South battle. That could go either way. And Tampa could somehow beat the daylights out of Kansas City. I can't say Mahomes will go throughout his career with some success in every game he plays. Chances are that there will be a game or two where someone dominates him for 60 minutes. I'd be surprised if Tampa Bay did that today, but at the same time, I don't think Kansas City will get to Brady and company as much as the Rams did

Not before calling Bill O'Brien. Or Adam Gase. Speaking of which, I wonder how their pursuit of a GM will go. Detroit hasn't been all that great when it comes to their GM decisions, let alone their HC's. I don't know if Bienemy will go to Detroit; people might say "Don't go there!" I think Eric will wait until a better spot opens up. OTOH it might be moot if Harbaugh ends up being the next Lions HC/GM

Well, at least the Steelers won't have to play a super-rested Washington Football Team on a super short week. As of 11/28/2020
-
Didn't think about that. Move the Steelers game to Monday as well! It's the least the league could do. Given who Pittsburgh's Week 14 opponent is, along with the time and venue, they are better off playing Washington on Sunday, December 6. You'd have people complaining about having back-to-back short weeks

Vouched for him the successor to Paul Tagliabue
-
Baltimore will still be affected. 5 days rest against a team that will have 10 days rest
-
The NFL needs to say right now that the Steelers/Ravens game is off. In right now, I mean ASAP, or by tomorrow morning. If not, that game needs to be played on Sunday. If the Patriots, the league "greatest dynasty" in the history of the sport, can move on with a game against Kansas City, then they can play this one. If not, use common sense and cancel it. And while you're at it, think of plans to go into a bubble setting. There will be a new league MVP at season's end, but Lamar is still the reigning MVP. I'd be shocked if the league did nothing in terms of discipline toward Baltimore. I'm not talking about kitchen sink-tossing (though that would be okay) but using actions to back up tough words
-
Troy did say it before him. No shock from me; I don't think anyone's booting them off of television. Might be a different story one decade from now. I had to laugh when Joe said that's one from you and me

I was actually leaning toward Washington before Markus Paul died. Dallas is likely motivated. Of course, they gave away their last game at their old stadium, so that was a risky pick. Washington is actually moving up. Not sure I'd pick them to win the title, but things could be looking up with Smith's return, and Ron and Chase. Now, the Cowboys had a ton of key injures early so they might fall short tonight

Fair enough. Speaking of fair, I will give Cincy a chance: 1%. Same goes for BYU. I don't think the committee will add the Bearcats because they deserve to be there. For one, they, along with BYU, have to win out. Then they have to get help. That help comes from the teams that they defeated along the way. If ND beats Clemson, if I had to guess, the committee is not putting Cincinnati in before a one-loss Ohio State that feel short against an undefeated Northwestern team from the Big 10. That panel could argue on Clemson's behalf that they lost without Lawrence and that they'd be a one-loss team losing to a perfect Notre Dame. I wouldn't be a fan of that, BTW. The Bearcats, to be fair, were once a power school when they had 6 big conferences including the Big East, so that would be total garbage to have a 2-loss Clemson team over a possible undefeated Cincinnati team. Moreover, I would love to see Notre Dame vs Cincy
