  1. I don't dislike Tom. I grew up in a beach community & knew a lot of guys like him. Surfing is a religion & they lived in a van or a shack because that was the lifestyle they wanted. I do, however, think he needs to be more aware that he uses words which are very judgmental. Lily has a strong work ethic- this does not make her neurotic. She doesn't want sweat rolling down her chest- this does not make her prissy. She wants to sleep in a bed without a backache afterward- this does not make her a whiny complainer. He wants her to embrace everything about him, but clearly resists embracing everything about her. BTW, all those guy I knew that were just like Tom ...they all married perfectly nice gals ...who later divorced them. Those guys just never wanted to grow up & take on the responsibilities that come with marriage & family, and they never wanted to compromise. But you know, they never misrepresented themselves. It was the gals they married who assumed they would evolve. Tom is not misrepresenting himself now. He is being very honest. I hope Lily understands it will be up to her to constantly adjust her life to meet his expectations. Having personally married someone like Tom (and later divorced them), it's a very persona non grata position to be in because it's not balanced. She will always have to bend to what he wants, and he will always subtly criticize her for what she wants that's different.
  2. Pedro has only seen examples of how Chantel is not ready for marriage ...irresponsible, wants to party too much, seeks attention from other guys, lies to family & friends, sloppy housekeeping, throws him under the bus, etc. I don't even think she has a job (and on that note- how does she pay their rent??). After all this, wouldn't it be refreshing if he is the one who breaks it off with her? As for her brother River holding this against Pedro - well, sometimes family will do anything to not point blame at their own family members. Always easier to blame an outsider. Shame on both siblings.
  3. Chantel's parent looked relieved the name of the show wasn't "Pregnant by a Foreigner." I'm pretty sure that's what they have been fearing this whole time.
  4. Dr Pepper - stop with your lame-ass preaching that Sonia needs to move back in or the marriage will crumble.. Nick was 100% checked out UNTIL Sonia moved out. Sonia is not as ditsy as she looks. She sees Nick likes a chase. Sadly, his chasing skills are as shoddy as his conversation skills.
  5. MOST BORING EPISODE EVER. Tom & Lily - doing great. Blah blah blah. Nick & Sonia - We are all still trying to find emotion in his flat personality. Not there. Heather & Derek - whyyyyyyy are they still on???
  6. Chantel's family friend/preacher -- I loved that guy. He was so calm about the secret engagement, when you know he was really thinking, "Oh no she didn't. This chil' gonna get her ass whooped."
  7. I wish I had a loop of Anfisa telling Jorge, "You're dumb." I could watch that all day.
  8. Hi Winsomeone! Alla was there for 4 weeks, not just a few days. Could you imagine how bored she must be staying in that boring house, in such a sleepy town? As far as we know, she did not invite Matt to go along ...and by appearance, he doesn't look like a guy who can get a groove on, so maybe she already knows he doesn't like to dance. He doesn't look like he'd be much fun even if he did take her out.
  9. BOILED OATS!! Bwaaaahahahahahahahahahah!! Oh my gawd, that is SO funny!! Poor Russ, he was better looking in season 1, or whatever season it was they were in. He now looks like a creepy & pasty old man. He lacks any sense of charisma or charm. I absolutely adore Paola and seeing her with him grosses me out.
  10. Yes! ...except when Lily wanted to talk about wanting to have a family one day. Then they screamed, "he's a stranger! You can't bring up such a delicate subject." They keep playing both sides of the fence. Sonia lost all her credibility. She's been complaining the whole time that she wanted more physical intimacy from Nick, when all along they were doing the nasty.
  11. Wow- good scoop. I was first thinking it must have been a lot of pot to get felony over misdemeanor, but I looked online and selling any amount is indeed a felony. Geez, so he now just keeps paying crazy amounts of money to live out of a hotel, rather than owning up & trying explain it to a landlord - maybe offer to pay the full year of rent upfront, or something similar that will help a landlord feel comfortable taking a chance renting to him - to create a more cost-effective lifestyle for himself. Oy- hey, we can't change our past decisions which may have gotten us into trouble, but we can change our current/future decisions. This guy, he's just a complete & total idiot.
  12. ^^^^^ I co-sign this 100%. I felt terrible for Alla. That dinner party was the most depressing thing I've seen in a long time. Matt allows everyone to treat her like crap because of his past choices. She seems like a really sincere person, if only they would talk to her, get to know her a little, and make her feel welcome. Why can't that other wife invite her to go get their nails done, or go out for drinks? I bet Alla has a really fun side to her, and it's being wasted away around all those awful people.
  13. It's clear Nick came on the show to promote his business- nothing more. It's just so ridiculous how he wears his damned Section 8 YC t-shirts in every scene. I felt so bad for Sonia when he blew up. She had made some really positive efforts, & all were wasted. She seems like a really nice person & didn't deserve his cruelty. In the preview scene ...I can't believe they consummated the marriage, but perhaps they fooled around a little during one of the last nights they were together. "We had sex" doesn't necessarily mean intercourse. And if he couldn't perform easily due to his lack of attraction, that may have been the final straw in pushing him to be honest about it. Just a thought.
  14. I am guessing the participants must sign a gazillion contracts, and cannot sue the producers if a fellow participant misrepresents himself/herself. To get around that, I think they would have to show criminal activity or financial damages as a result of it. Even then, I think they would have to prove the producers were negligent in conducting a sufficient background check that would have revealed the blatant deceit. However, I do think it would be a valid reason to have the marriage annulled. The experts keep saying the couples must divorce, but I think this would be a case where an actual annulment would be granted.
  15. I can barely watch Sonia & Nick. He is a robot & she is terrified of everything, not just dogs. She is terrified of words said & words unsaid. She always appears scared about what's going on around her. Maybe that's because she feels so rejected by his lack of interest. Personally I think she should start prancing around in sexy outfits & high heels, hand feed him lobster, and get him a little drunk... Or help him wash the dogs wearing a see-thru t-shirt & daisy dukes.
  16. I think Lily is SMART to discuss kids with her husband- repeat: HUSBAND. Hell yes she should get a read on whether or not he wants kids down the road!! This is something people usually know about themselves regardless of who they are partnered up with at the time. Why did Dr Pepper minimize that by telling ler Tom is a basically a stranger???!! No he is not, Dr. Pepper. Thanks to you Tom is her freakin' HUSBAND now, and she has every right to press him about how he envisions his future. I was married for 10 years to a guy just like Tom. Bottom line, when someone hesitates about wanting kids in the future, it usually means they don't.
  17. Ha! And now we know why she was so agreeable about the post-nup --> SHE wants it in writing that the she will not get the freakin' bus.
  18. I am no fan of Heather, but I wished Derek would have stopped flying off the handle like he did in the counseling session. These two people are polar opposites when under stress ...Heather becomes robotic, showing no emotion whatsoever. Derek becomes reactive, letting his temper take over. I think the editors focused on showing Heather more because Pastor Calvin's frustration with her mirrored Derek's frustration. You can't argue, debate, or reason with a tree stump (yes, Heather is the tree stump). I get that she needed sleep - fair enough - but SAY SOMETHING to reveal what she thinks the issues are. Smoking? Snoring? Smelly feet? Comic strip tattoos? Her silence is the issue. I think that's why Pastor Calvin wasn't letting her off the hook- she wasn't articulating anything at all. It would have been a great opportunity for Derek to keep calm and let her look like the bigger asshole.
  19. Interesting that Carmela says she joined a cult at 12 years old ...like it was something she made a conscious decision to do all on her own. At that age she's a minor and can't legally join anything. Did her mother join the cult and drag her along, or did she run away form home and join it by herself? I want to know more about that. If creepy Esther gets her own reality show with that rag-tag bunch of Amish misfits, no way I am watching. The girl ain't right.
  20. Jeremiah obviously thinks it's his duty to be the official pot stirrer, but seriously, he should focus on moving to Ohio to be with his kids rather give Kate a hard time about her life choices. He's just an ass sometimes.
  21. Ha! Thanks for taking one for the team! You're awesome. Derek should just pummel her with wine & chocolate, and I bet she would soften. Then I bet she wouldn't even notice him secretly gorging on Cheetos in the bathroom once he gets the munchies.
  22. I get Tom's comment about minimalism - I hate it when people have a ton of junk in their home they don't use & (my opinion) don't need. It's useless clutter. I have downsized my life since a divorce & am now a minimalist ...BUT the things I do have are the highest quality I can afford. If I could afford a Lexus I would be driving one - that doesn't make me materialistic. It makes me a person who appreciates quality over quantity. I'm guessing, since he designs yacht interiors, he sees a lot of people who surround themselves with "stuff" because they have more money than they know what to do with, and he sees that "stuff" doesn't contribute to them living a happier life. That being said ...Geez, man, come out & tell her about the bus already! It's been a deal breaker in his past relationships, & avoiding the topic won't make it less of a sticking point. Him trying to frame it as "other people are too materialistic" is a cop out. He lives an unconventional lifestyle & he needs to own it ...and be willing to compromise if the love of his life isn't entirely cool with it. For him to put the bus over his relationships actually makes him, by definition, the more materialistic person.
  23. I find Derek's tattoos amusing, and think they show he has a great sense of humor.
  24. Every time Tom mentions he lives "in a bus", all I hear is, "in a van down by the river."
