  1. That's so fascinating! Do you know if she reveals the identity in the book?
  2. I think it was definitely strange that there was such a tight deadline for Rachel to move out. Why did she have to leave the day Chandler moved in? Why was Monica pushing her out so quickly? I get that it's a sitcom and it thrives on conflict, but the logical thing seems to be if Rachel had been able to stay for a while, until she found her own place, then she could also have seen that Monica & Chandler were successfully living together (she told Monica that the reason she wasn't moving out was that she didn't believe M&C were really going to go through with living together).
  3. I re-watched Season 1 this week, and now knowing the "big twist", I can't believe I didn't realize it sooner. Michael is horrible to the main four. He rarely says a positive thing to any of them and he constantly puts them in uncomfortable positions. He's barely discreet about it. So well done!
  4. I'm always so torn when Monica tells Rachel that Chandler would be moving in; I understand that it is Monica's apartment (illegally subletting from her Grandmother) but Rachel had been living there for 6 years. Monica shouldn't have unilaterally decided Rachel would obviously be moving out if Chandler was moving in.
  5. They address it in the episode released just today. I definitely support Georgia and think that guy was totally out of line for going to a murder/comedy show and being offended by the murder/comedy discussion. I think I've figured out why Georgia bugs me: she talks out of one side of her mouth about strong females, female empowerment, etc, and out the other about how Vince has to remind her to eat because she's such a delicate flower who can't feed herself without a man.
  6. Paula is unwatchable. I don't think I've seen her in anything before and I cannot fathom how she got the lead role in this show. Beyond that, I don't think I pay close enough attention when watching; I didn't even recognize the lady with the bad wig who was conspiring to save her son from going to jail...
  7. Seriously. I became unexpectedly pregnant at the age of 25; I had a degree and a long-term partner and I was still extremely nervous to tell my parents because I was so "young".
  8. Do you know how/why he got a full ride? Was it needs-based, or based on his grades? I'm Canadian and didn't apply for scholarships when I went to University so I'm not at all familiar with the full rides...
  9. Danny has really come into his own in this series; I struggled to finish Iron Fist, but I'm really enjoying him in Defenders. His interactions with the other "heroes", as well as all of the jokes at his expense really lighten the tone and make for a less sulky Danny. Jessica Jones is still my favourite, and while I enjoy Luke Cage, I do agree that his acting could be better.
  10. I personally relate to this. I am an atheist and I don't discuss it with many people because honestly, it is a lack of faith or belief in any sort of religion so in its essence, there shouldn't be much to talk about. I begin to have a problem with someone who uses religion to support their homophobia/racism/misogyny. Without hiding behind their religion, I don't think someone could really defend their views on women, the LGBTQ+ community, etc. I have a hard time with religion as a whole because I see it as a source for most of the major conflicts, from the beginning of civilization.
  11. I left the Facebook group - it was just too much for me (in many ways). I've started listening to Gone at 21. The structure is very confusing...there are episodes called "The Investigation" and episodes called "Evidentiary Notes" and they each have their own numbering system. Has anyone listened to this? Do you recommend that I continue? I'm on Investigation Episode 2.
  12. Devon Sawa was the draw for me; he was my childhood crush and I follow him on Twitter, where he was promoting this show. I'd never seen Paula Patton in anything before and agree with all of you above - she is horrible! I am really having trouble following the story and am also confused about things such as: how do Ruby & child who comes back to life know each other in this alternate timeline? What is the significance of Jesse's death? It's a pretty terrible show but I'm going to keep watching (for some reason).
  13. I'm so curious why this is something he feels he needs to talk about NOW. I'll be honest and say I'd never heard of Jazz before this, so I'm not sure how long her show has been on, but why is he complaining now and not when her show first started? (NOT to say I support him saying anything about her AT ALL). Derick is sure throwing a lot of stones from that glass house of his...Ass.
  14. My issue is NOT that Carol realized she was gay while married to Ross. My issue is with how Carol and Susan handled the unexpected pregnancy and how they did not include Ross in monumental decisions such as the baby's last name. There was definitely terrible gay panic on the show with all the male characters, and Ross did not handle Ben's exploration of toys outside standard gender norms well, but I saw his support as more than just "go along to get along". As an example, he stood up for Carol at her wedding to Susan.
  15. Thanks for the suggestion! Checking it out now. Edit: I started the first episode and this was definitely on a Dateline-type show before.
  16. Not that I believe it, but someone commented on Jinger's very recent Instagram post congratulating her on her pregnancy...
  17. I'm not including the major final pairings (Ross/Rachel, Chandler/Monica) to keep it more interesting: For Chandler, Janice is my favourite ...my least favourite would be Rachel's boss Joanna (the handcuff lady) For Ross, Mona would probably be my favourite and Charlie and Emily are tied for least-favourite. Charlie was soooo boring, and Emily didn't appeal to me right from the beginning (with the exception of the "there's a deer just outside eating fruit from the orchard!") For Rachel, again she didn't date that many guys but I guess Gavin was ok?...my least favourites are Danny (the Yeti) and Paolo. For Monica, Richard is my favourite with Pete coming in a close second (until the whole UFC debacle). My least favourite would be the high school student (ICK). For Phoebe, I like both Mike and David, although I agree that David didn't really stay around long enough to do anything wrong. My least favourite would be the creepy psychologist.
  18. As Monica states, Rachel always steals her thunder! I thought it might be fun to see how everyone else feels on the topic of the friends' worst boyfriends/girlfriends. I'll start with Joey's: The fruit basket lady. On a superficial level, she was just NOT who Joey would be interested in. Sending Joey all those fruit baskets was also just weird.
  19. HA in that episode where they're all listing each others' terrible dating history and Ross says "What's wrong with Mona?!?!".
