I don't think the comparison should really be thiss one. Sandor is a fighter, he coud, for all we know, have snapped out of it in two seconds. Sam, on the other hand, was *always* a liability. He shoudd have stayed in the crypts and helped defend the people there. We all know that Sam was never going to die, but it was annoying watching him not dying. He simply didn't have the skills to survive than long once the WW entered Winterfell. I can - with some efffort - see why Brienne and Jaime, working in sync, two very skilled knights, survived whille being surrounded by wights. But Sam being alive is just ridiculous. And since it seems like everybody is on the same train, why not haave him in the crypt, let him kill one or two deads before Arya kill the NK. See, this what annoys me in this show, that such things happpen when they re so easy to fix. He ordered all men, women and children to be trained - I'm not sure why Sansa would be the exception. You would think that Sansa, from all people, would try to learn a little.

And Jon’s saved tons of lives, and they both almost killed themselves and each other because they couldn’t see.

R.I.P. House Mormont. Arya for the win, that was awesome. The first 10-20 minutes were some of the best I’ve ever seen. The music was kinda of.. distracting? The music should always add something and in some cases I think it was just a nuisance. Melisandre redeemed herself as did Theon. Alfie Allen is such a fine actor. I’m kind of surprised Jon didn’t have more to do, and I get why he decided to go after the NK. While I’m glad some of my faves are alive, how absurd is that so many of them are alive. The crypt end game was ridiculous. All of the people whose names we know survived - Sansa, Tyrion, Misandei, Gilly, Little Sam and Varys all alive? As if. Nice Tyrion/Sansa scene. I think we can all agree that Jaime is the valonqr.

Season 8: Speculation and Spoilers Discussion

I’m not going to check the pics, I need at least some surprise. Also, I don’t want to be disappointed; while I don’t really wanna anyone to die, I’m afraid the writers won’t have the guts to kill a major character - sorry, Jorah and Pod doesn’t count. Thanks for the heads up wrt the Jaime-Arya theory. I hope it doesn’t happen that way. -

The more I think about it, the more I have I hard time with the whole ‘Arya’s as Jaime’ idea. Is it even a real spoiler or speculation? Because I can’t, for the life of me, see how it is better, dramatically speaking, that Cersei dies by Arya’s hands than Jaime’s - or Tyrion’s. Maybe Arya saying that Beric was once one her list is an indication that the whole list thing is in the past? Also, where is this ‘Jaime dies in Brienne’s arms’ from? -

I had to read the entire thing and a lot of what this person says doesn’t make any sense. The guy says Tormund barely does anything but KJ spent weeks doing the battle scenes - per himself. He says the NK kills Bran and Beric brings him back - what is the point of that? And I must be in the minority here, but I cannot see this episode ending with just C list characters dying. -

There is nothing “prosaic” about Jamie killing Cersei, IMO. They are entangled and so fucked up, all their actions as a couple ended hurting people, including their own children. They ruined each other in the process while having agency of that, which is disturbing and fascinating at the same time. There’s a reason the Valonqr is such a huge deal I’m the books. And while it is not that big in the show, the idea is there. I honestly don’t see Sansa killing Cersei and I don’t see this as a criticism, I just don’t think that her story with Cersei is up to Jamie’s or even Tyrion. And as far as Arya’s go, I won’t be surprised if she changes after BoW and a that carnage. -

Or maybe she is cornered by the WW into that direction. -

Yup, that too. Don't the cripts have a couple of tunnels leading to the outside? I' think I remenber this from the books. -

But wouldn't a legitmised Baratheon be a threat to whoever ends in the throne? I can't see Dany doing this if she becomes queen, and I can't see whoever is Jon's hand allowing him to do it if he becomes king. I can totally see Tyrion trying to find a way to save Cersei's and her baby's lives, and in doing so getting one of the Starks killed/injured. This would be a betrayal of the Starks, right? I can also see Tyrion not backing up the North independence, which is something that not only Sansa wants, but that I think Jon also wants. Why would Jon distrust his brother and BFF? They all trust Bran so much that they are planning the attack on NK based on what he says/his visions. Sam has been nothing but a loyal friend. The way I see it, I think Jon utter readiness to believe such slim evidence is because it fits. Why Ned never legitimized him? Why the hurry to send a bastard son to the Wall when the normal thing to would be to keep him around? Why not tell him 'I slept with a whore/paysant girl etc'? He may not have realized that he can fly a freaking dragon, but it all makes sense to him. Also, it also happens that now he is not a bastard. Screw being the heir of the throne, he is not a bastard anymore, he was the result of love. Pretty easy to embrace this. Also just six episodes. -

Because she is facing the army of the dead? I've seen more than one comment about how weird it is that Arya looks scared in the promo, but why not?.All the wildlings at Highdorne, the crows, they were scared. Jaime was scared when he saw that wight at Dragon pit. Gendry, the Hound, Jorah, Jon, look at Dany's face when she rescues them. Why wouldn't Arya be scared? -

But that was not mentioned in the show, was that? I'm convinced Lyanna lives, while Jorah dies. I wouldn't be surprised if he dies saving her life - talk about redempetion: banned and disowened for shaming his father's name and house, to saving his cousin and the lady of said house. I really can't see both Misandei and Grey Worm surviving. Maybe she dies and he leaves with the insullied before Dany going to King's Landing. -
But it is not only that. Yes, Jon is a male, but he is the heir of the throne because he is Rhaegar's son. Jon doesn't jump ahead Dany primarily because he is a man -he jumps ahead her because he is the heir of the Crown Prince and the line of sucession follows the first born. A poor analogy would be the Windsors: Prince Charles is the Crown Prince, he is the heir of Queen Elizabeth. If he dies before becoming king, the next in line is not Princess Anne, or prince Andrew. The next in line is Princess William and, if something happens to him, George, then Charlotte, then Louis, not Harry. Something happens to George, if he has children, his children come ahead Charlotte. So basically, Jon is Prince William and Dany is Princess Anne.
-
Chemistry is the eye of the beholder. It doesn't work for you, but I'm sure there are shippers out there who think Jon and Dany are fine. And honestly, it doesn't matter that much. It was pretty obvious from ASOIAF that it was going to happen one way or another. The problem - if it is a problem is how it is done.

Season 8: Speculation and Spoilers Discussion
Raachel2008 replied to Eyes High's topic in Game Of Thrones
True, but show Robert - and show Ned, show Dany, show Cersei, show everybody - believed that she was kidnapped and raped. On TV there is no doubt that this is what everybody believes. -
I would agree with you IF the characters in those scenes weren't Misandei and Greyworman. Danny is a Targ, there was no way the Northerners wouldn't give her the stinky eye, Jamie and Tyrion are Lannisters, and Tormond is a wildling, three things the North *hates*. Yes, Misandei and Greyworm are part of Dany's group, but I don't see the Northernes giving Jorah the stink eye, and he sold slaves, was disowned and banned from Ned himself. Heck even Davos, who fought side by side with Stannis. So yeah, I think D&D are making a point here, albeit in their usual awful way. It's a shame because the North is awesome in the books, and on TV they are just idiots.

It is not that she needs her, but that Arya has always been written, both in the books and the show, as tirsty for adventure and very very curious. It is kinda of baffling that she has no interest whatsoever in a woman who rides a dragon and commands an army. But that is not true. He's a head of her in line for the throne because he is Raegar's son. He is the heir of the Crown Prince. Jon is Prince William here, while Danaerys is Princess Anne. Now I'm not saying that the fact he is a male doesn't matter in this world, but that is not why he is the first in the line to that crown. -
I think it was a reminder that those are *people*, with feelings and stories and other stuff she knows nothing about. They are not just the North, they are people.
-
He is Jon Snow. There was no doubt that he would tell her. Also what good would come for him not telling her? Bran or Sam or even Jon himself could spill it later and Dany would be pissed - and rightfully so.

I don’t think so, because Jon looks clean and put together while there are other shots of him without his cape, hair a mess, etc.
