  1. I feel like there should be a way to do this without making a main character so boring
  2. I stand by my assessment that she’s too poor to take the train. But she’ll probably meet her next husband when she’s riding her horse along side of it and sees the accident. She’ll render aid to a handsome banker missing a limb I don’t dislike Marion either I honestly think she’s too boring to dislike
  3. Can she still afford to take the train? She might have to ride on horseback all the way back to the city
  4. I think it’s pretty clear who the costume designer likes on this show I sincerely hope he’s not a legitimate love interest because if so something went awry.
  5. Every instinct I have tells me Mr. Raikes absolutely cannot be trusted and I still absolutely believe he's some sort of confidence man. Marion is so set on breaking rules she isn't relying on common sense. I don't want Gladys anywhere near Oliver but I knew the young man she liked would crash and burn at dinner I loved the charity woman and like how she's so practical about money. I felt for Anne Morris because she lost her husband but it isn't Bertha or George's fault. She better remarry stat. Who knows a handsome gent who likes snobby, uptight women with a penchant for dowdy colors? Also don't make fun of Irish people, Anne. I used to be obsessed with the Kennedys and when JFK ran for office he had to deal with all this Irish prejudices from people like Anne YEARS later. I like Peggy's mother but I have been in Peggy's situation. Which is to say, I had a authoritative, controlling father and a mother who always felt like she had to be on his side. Peggy's mother is finding out the hard way what happens in that position, meaning you get shut out of your kid's life. I am all for loyalty but if your spouse is in the wrong, being on their side isn't helping them or you or your kid.
  6. I’m sure some schools have a handful of talent and minuscule budgets, I just didn't go to one
  7. I feel like Nate and Jules is coming next season.
  8. This she needs to either give Wendy a plot or write her out.
  9. He’s legit the worst. I think the other thing that annoys me is how amazingly low the bar is for men making any sort of effort that redeems them to other people
  10. This is interesting because she always alludes to the fact that her father’s death was the precipice for her addiction. I think they just all hate Nate
  11. I have a theory If Nate was sexually abused the reason he gave the tape to Jules is because he’s hoping she will come forward as a victim that way he won’t have to. I think he is secretly hoping she turns his dad in to the police. I think we all know him giving the tape to Jules had nothing to do with his dad’s business. It would be safer for him to keep the tape or to destroy it himself. As long as the tape is out there his dad’s business is not safe. I think he miscalculated because Jules doesn’t see herself as a victim or Cal as a perpetrator but I think that was his intention. He says to her I was protecting someone who didn’t deserve it. I think he speaking both to Jules and himself. I think he wants to hold his dad accountable but he doesn’t want the role of a victim. I also think that the third brother is older and just doesn’t want anything to do with them
  12. Of the three of them, I only like Kate who they actually fleshed out. Scooter’s dream of being a conductor is OKKKAAYYYY…. And the other guy legit just showed up
  13. A lot of people are. I still can’t stand him. I think he’s a weak insecure person. I don’t think weak insecure people aren’t capable of humanity though.
  14. So Rue was doing drugs before her dad died?
  15. Everything you said. And I still can’t stand Joel.
  16. Thank you Indiana biscuits and gravy, they stole our dish. And he’s eating with a knife and fork like an idiot. You use the biscuit to sop up the gravy. I agree with everyone Wendy is aimless at this point. Her clothes and hair did look better. My guess is that it will lead her to another love interest too. I hope he’s not like Tanner, shudder. This show’s definition of feminism is women having the right to say something stupid and blow up a major deal enacting no real change politically.
  17. That was the disbelief for me that the school would allow the sexual connotations there. It was also kind of a disbelief for me that they would let her put on a play they hadn’t read. The money aspect was not. I still remember when my school did Anything Goes and we literally had a double decker cruise ship set. Some schools have a lot of money in the theater department. And yes my theater teacher Ann Martin used to bringing ringers to teach things like choreography too.
  18. Our high school plays were amazing. It depends on how much money and talent your school has
  19. I need a hero I loved Lexi's play. Nate and Cassie as it dawned on them what they were seeing and their faces LOL Nate was definitely abused by Cal that's why his behavior changed and he gets so angry at his mom for defending his dad. Maybe that's why phantom brother wants nothing to do with them
  20. None of these people are decent. I feel like that’s the troupe…they are crappy people But I feel like it’s pretty obvious what’s wrong with Jodie’s husband. He pretty much dismisses her unless he needs something. If she wants out, no need for an affair though…she can divorce him or try counseling or a separation. Like many options for a relationship not working are available to you. Also if you want to enjoy porn with your spouse, I feel like the way he went about it was weird.
  21. I don't know crawling in to bed naked with someone is a seduction more like an assault. I feel like that's the weird aspect here, what made her think this would work?
  22. The servants in this show are lax. I don't know how accurate it is but these people are putting in what are appears to be the barest of effort. You can ask the same question about the maid, the guy whose lost Ada's dog and made no effort to locate it, the woman who had gambling debts and was basically being threatened. Also I have noticed that maid legit bad mouths Bertha in front of her staff on the regular and like one person will half heartedly say something but no one actually cares
  23. There's also a lot of stories about anti-Semitism at this time. Not as no Jewish men but quotas. Most of my reading about Gilded Age have been women and society not schooling. Even though through my readings, I have read about men in prominent who just quit their schooling and Jewish quotas
