So many good points here about Wilmington. I must add another. Roger, the historian, doesn't know it's dangerous for Bree to be with no escort in this time period? So he just leaves her? <eye roll> There are no cooler heads prevailing with these two. And as to their fight: I really do find stubbornness for stubborn's sake a weak way to drive a plot. That said, of course I'm going to keep watching.

I have long had the feeling that Logan and Weevil actually played together as children. Weevil's grandmother was the Echolls family housekeeper and it makes sense that she might have brought him to work with her on occasion. Then as they grew older the awareness of social stratification would have pretty naturally driven them apart. I felt like it was a missed story opportunity (or at least could been tossed off as a pointed aside). "We Used to Be Friends" works on a lot of levels in this show. As to Colantoni - hell yes. What's not to love about a smart, funny, quick-witted man?

Bryony Hannah BROUGHT IT this episode. Sister Mary Cynthia's mix of emotions was potent and palpable and believable and the acting was extraordinary. Sending in Sister Monica Joan to help her bathe was perfection.

Ethan Cutkosky as Carl continues to impress. For all of Carl's swagger we got to see he truly did not understand the depth of Nick's obsession with the bike and that prison has made Nick incapable of letting go of a slight ("It's about respect."). Carl could have bought him 10 bikes but it was always going to go down this way. Nick could never learn but for at least this day Carl did. I found it classically Shameless that Ian being a Gallagher who cannot help himself gets off on helping others. EMT would be a great gig for him. Until he inevitably and colossally fucks it up. Let's hope the writers figure out avway to be creative with this. I'm not sure what Queenie is going to bring to the table but I'm glad she showed up to shake Frank loose of the cancer concierge thing that has really been treading water. Even grossly involving Deb in it hasn't made it more interesting. I can't feel sorry for Gus; what did he expect after marrying a hot waitress he knew for five minutes? Losing grandma's ring is a cheap price to pay for being able to cut ties with Fiona and get his life back. Lip's relationship with Helene was over as soon as he said he loved her. Because of course. I guess now we get to see how he struggles to stay in school. Or does he morph into alky prof? Both, probably.

I'm not so sure Fiona's baby-daddy is Sean - it could be Jimmy OR Gus, too. I'm a little unclear if there has been a time jump, but Debs is newly pregnant so it can't have been very long since Fiona's two-fer with Jimmy and Gus near the end of last season. I predicted Deb would follow her delusions to Florida but I was surprised at Fiona's pregnancy and I hope it's resolved soon. I root for these kids so much it stresses me out to see the cluster fuck forming and growing and about to snowball the lot of them. (Yes, I know this happens every season. I still want things to be better for them.) I am really tired of Frank in Bianca Grief mode and wish they'd give William H. Macy something worthy of his talents.

Ugh - that woman coach is the WORST. There's confident and then there's confident while performing for the cameras which is a whole other level of please-somebody-make-her-stop. I marathon'ed Sing It On this weekend and will stay with that - Pitch-Slapped is flat and a pass.

S22.E15: Finale Part 1: The Girl Who Made A Splash

The Zappo's woman got so much screen-time eye-screwing Mikey that I had plenty of time to gaze and marvel at the multiple procedures evident on her "face." Agree that this was all deeply gross. -
Abi is either too stupid to realize Peih-Gee is a nothing or she's desperate for some camera time. She is also a pint-sized bully but isn't it always the bulldozers who are the quickest to have hurt feelings? Shirin is such a brilliant strategist she strategized herself right out of the game. Goes to show how much you need multiple facets to your game; social game is just as important as intellect.

Randall Cobb is kind of a natural.

S04.E16: Borrowing Your Enemy's Arrow

Can Melody make Gabe get rid of his girl hair as consolation for baby-tizing her? Do we need Tara Ariano, Wig Cop, on the job? This ep was such an ugh but I really just want to talk about his luxurious girl hair. Oh, and Nyle, the deaf actor playing Garrett. He's dreamy. Emmett, who? Bring on Barrett. Oh, and how long until we find out what Mr. Buns and Guns was doing at spring break without Daphne? Probably something. Just saying. -
Posen is a such a construction wonk that I can't believe he was OK with Blake's hot mess. Producers judged this one.

This ep was so funny I immediately watched it a second time. Maggie and Emma's intervention with Bird Bones was so well-orchestrated and subtle. This is easily my favorite sitcom right now and my fingers are crossed for a third season. That they can incorporate a heavy moment like Mark and Tina's marriage implosion so seamlessly into the comedy and not have it land with a thud is a testament to the quality writing and acting. My favorite toss-off line of the night, after Rod's about gossip being 'God's friendship glue' was Mark telling Emma he was using a Grimace from a Happy Meal to represent her in his model of her house.

Aaaaaaaaa! I have no idea what will happen to Raylan or Boyd but who else thinks Loretta makes off with the cash?

I'm surprised no one thought of this one...
