I know I said I would probably mostly watch online, but - let me get this straight - in addition to the already sparse AusOpen coverage on US television they are currently airing the SAME NFL GAME on both ESPN and ESPN2 on my television? And tennis starts in 30 minutes? It's not like the 3 show courts are all switching between matches right now. They must've decided Nadal and Murray and ya know, the other 19 people in the Mens and Womens top 10 are not enough of a draw for US audiences and without Roger or the Visaless Wonder or Serena Americans don't want to watch?
  2. I don't think that remark was intended to be commentary on Crystal, but rather implying Daya was something more like 2 levels of quality degradation from Crystal. Like, yeah, sure, recognizable resemblance, but not very good.

I was thinking last night how lovely it'd be if France the UK announced similar vaccination requirements in the next couple of days. Will #1 Asshole sit out three slams? or will he do what other players who didn't really want to get vaccinated did and get it anyway because rules are rules?

If they're going to spend 20 minutes talking about Djokovic every time a match ends quickly and they need to talk on air more than expected, I will be watching very little on TV and using ESPN3 way more.
  5. The main thing that bugged me about Ben was every time he underbaked something, he'd stuck a toothpick in it to check doneness before deciding to take them out. It made me want to yell at the screen "dude! that's for cakes! this is not how you determine the doneness of something made with dough and not batter!" They showed him doing it every single time.

ID identity columns don't lie, Novak. Plus the country hopping with photographic evidence. Dude hasn't a leg to stand on. It'd be hilarious if his lies got him banned from Australia, not just like this week, but like, sorry no you can't come here anymore at all because you lie in multiple ways on our entry forms.

Lying liar gonna lie, but also I'd imagine his passport would need to be marked when he went to Spain, no? So wouldn't they catch that lie when he entered even if there weren't eyewitnesses and reporters seeing him in 2 different countries on those 2 dates?

Well if he didn't actually have COVID a month ago, and is still unvaxxed, he could still pretty easily come down with omicron in the next six days. Heck he might test positive due to his ages ago infection and get the boot that way, a la Benoit Paire (who is almost certainly fuming and actually has an ok reason to for once).
  9. I was mostly surprised the SMART tire people chose to use that name when they intended to be in the car space. Seems like a trademark problem waiting to happen.
  10. I think this is plausible, but I still think I take slightly more issue with Wendy here than Kristina. Kristina literally said "does it have to be a gown?" That was the moment for Wendy to say "yes, I want to wear a gown". She didn't. "or could it be a suit?" And Wendy said as long as it looks good, and highlights the ass and boobs. This alone, fine, we're on a misunderstanding train where what was meant by "suit" was maybe assumptions on both sides and not enough communication. But then when Christian came round she said explicitly she wanted a gown and not pants. When it was way too late to change course. I think that's part of why Kristina got so upset- she was having this horror moment of it's too late to do anything else, and from her perspective she explicitly asked if a gown was required and did not get a yes. So to hear the client telling Christian very plainly that it was pretty much Gown Only Town, it probably felt a bit gaslighty. Not intentionally on Wendy's part, necessarily, but she answered so clearly to him, and so wishy washy to the designer. I think if I were the designer there, that aspect of it would be pretty upsetting to me. Thinking you cleared the idea and then hearing the client tell someone else "no this is not at all what I wanted." Then on the runway, same thing. Wendy was acting like either she wasn't consulted at all or had explicitly asked for something else. All of that aside, it still wasn't a good look. That's on Kristina. And the discussion of "gown or no gown" was a real distraction from that, but I think it kept coming up because everyone was wondering - well did you do this because Wendy asked for it? No? Well then why the hell'd you do it?

Scenario 4: he contracts COVID again while in the hotel and can't play. He'll cry about being the victim (because it's the hotel's fault and not his own), but he won't cry too much, because he's going to stick with his story of how the disease is NBD.

If he's saying he had COVID in the last six months, he's either lying about when he had it OR newly admitting to having it twice.

Sounds like BF is doing the right thing if I'm understanding those tweets? If his visa app is bullshit, then it's correcting the shitshow to not allow him in the country?

Did he somehow argue because he had covid already he has natural immunity? Did he pay for his own titers and prove he's still got similar antibody levels to recently vaccinated people? (not that antibodies are all there is to it, nor does anyone know how many are needed for actual protection.....) Just trying to come up with a not-completely-hypocritical-and-bullshit explanation. Like, the players from Russia can't play because they're vaxed with a vaccine no other country has any data on, so it doesn't count. But this moron whines enough and can come on in with nothing?
  16. Y'all we're getting very off-topic in here again. Ads are on topic. If those ads are for a TV show, general discussion of those shows are not. Discuss shows in their own forums/topics.
  17. I think they kept him - even though his was a hot mess that didn't really look like a butterfly - because technically he did do the butterfly part of the challenge, even if his decoration obfuscated it. Whereas the jelly bean cake didn't flip the two semicircular sides out to call them wings, didn't cut them into specific wing shapes, didn't really meet the "butterfly" part of the challenge at all. I think the choice basically boiled down to "ugly green blob that definitely has some sort of wing shape" vs "circular cake".
  18. It's half the prize money because it went from a prime time network show to a basic cable show. It's got a smaller budget. That said I haven't seen an ad for it since just before the new version premiered in April, so I must not be watching the channels they're advertising on now.
  19. I'm assuming the reason they're pushing the whole "youngest ever!" thing is to imply "they're just as good if not better than who you've seen before, but younger" ergo, more interesting to watch. So far, not necessarily the case, but clearly what they're going for.
  20. I'm talking about the part before he said that, when she asked him, basically, if he agreed with her hypothesis. In other words, I already knew his first wife passed away and as soon as she turned to him I knew this was not about to be the fun quip she was probably hoping for by bringing him into that particular discussion.
  21. It was a little cringey when Collins was talking about no actors' marriages lasting and turned to Tucci...
  22. That ad is weird to me because the spider bites him on his left, but the swelling is on his right. I'd think if it were a systemic reaction, it should be all over and if it were a localized reaction it should stay near the bite site.
  23. Because if you put enough food coloring in buttercream to make it forest green, you'll taste the coloring and it does not taste good. At all.
  24. Yeah. I have very specific things I want to snack when I fly, so not only is it cheaper to get in advance, it also ensures I have the actual stuff I want to eat. If someone were, say, bringing a tupperware full of brisket and like...half a dozen rolls, that's a My Great Grandmother thing to do. But knowing you're going to have nothing to eat when you get to the hotel and having on hand something that won't make you feel gross is a business necessity. You know. In years when I had business travel, which my employer still does not. (yay)
