  1. Thank you, Meander. It is clear that cleaning the kitchen while trying to watch this show is not going to work. Is anyone loving this show? I can't decide whether to go back and really try to understand it. And was the very last scene with Wes and the girl next door a flashforward? Was the cell phone under the floor boards supposed to be a mystery, or do we know what it is?
  2. Am I the only one who was a little squicked out by the title of the episode? I was not sure what to expect...
  3. Thank you, Amethyst! I will rewatch those sections.
  4. I am so lost, and based on what I am reading here, I missed a big plot point -- did the daughter kill the second wife to frame her father? Was that revealed after the verdict or before? I completely missed that. And I really have no clue about anything else that is going on. I have no idea what is going on with the Girl Next Door and arrest and the cell phone underneath the boards. Was the final scene a flash forward, or the present? Ms Blue Jay, yes, that was a very Colin Sweeney vibe! Paris Gellar, please eat a sandwich.
  5. The best thing about the revised date of conception is that Juliette can stop poking her head around corners and face the camera. She will just be showing early.
  6. Of course she does: put on boots, make a call. Keep boots on. It really bugged me that they had so many green leafy trees looking out from the balcony. There are no leafy trees in the middle of winter, when the State of the Union Address is given. I love "MacArthur Park", but agree that it took me out of the drama. Just an instrumental version would have been more effective -- the theme of the text was right on. "I'll never have that recipe again."
  7. Here is a Friday article about Ina and the new book -- with a great recipe! http://seattletimes.com/html/foodwine/2024665503_inagartenxml.html Lura, I've been there! Here is what to serve next time: whatever will make all the other guests exclaim in delight, because SIL needs to see how happy you make other people! Not that she will change...
  8. I also had thought that if a team used the Save, the next-to-last team would be booted. And it is not a mystery to the next-to-last team (penultimate, if you prefer!), because they all would know the Save team would use the Save. Because, there is no point to NOT using the Save! But as others pointed out, yes, I would have expected Phil to mention this when he announced the Save. Please just don't change Phil's patter: "The last team to check -- MAY -- be eliminated" -- ("unless that team has the Save, or unless the final team is Saved by the team with the Save or unless a camel eats more than 50% of the Save").
  9. The only parts worth watching were the scenes with Alex and young Darling, maybe Alex and Claire. Otherwise, zzzzzzzzz.
  10. The court could not take the bail money from Bishop, because Bishop withdrew the funds. The bail money came from the firm's resources, maybe rightly, maybe not, as litigated above.
  11. Limelight said: And don't forget that David Lee showed up in his Gilbert & Sullivan costume one late evening! It's not so far-fetched -- the university I attended had annual operetta performances using only law school students and faculty!
  12. How can so many department heads/partners at LG suddenly leave and expect to bring their clients with them? This looks like a lot of legal wrangling over poaching, even if they don't have non-compete clauses. And how does a brand-new member of the firm, Taye Diggs, have the sway to talk that many senior firm members into leaving? If a new guy at work showed up and *before starting to work* tried to talk me into leaving my established job, I'd laugh and call the head of the firm pronto. Incredible that we are supposed to think he got their agreement to leave without ever consulting Diane, and that she basically said, "yup, y'all come along." Their client base is at the minimum questionable in terms of portability, so with adding seven or eight major new salaries to FA, how is it "we're out of debt"? And they have not yet negotiated the release of their partnership investment at LG, so there is no big cash infusion from the capital buy-in. Remember the resistance David Lee gave to Alicia when she wanted her capital back?
  13. Do you mean "no", not owned by a GG and not seen outdoors?
  14. After seeing the conclusion of the first episode, I love this quote one of the Miami real estate agents gave to the local press last week: "Michelle agrees — sort of: 'It would have to be a while before I would do it again. It’s really exhausting.'" http://www.miamiherald.com/entertainment/celebrities/article2205352.html#storylink=cpy If they thought it was exhausting to get through a half-leg and quit, they should think very hard about whether to do it again!
  15. I suspect Bethany is more fit and flexible than many of the Racers. Partly because surfing requires more than strength, but also requires balance, and by doing that, she has worked through the issues of how to balance her center of gravity and use the many trained muscles she does have. She scampered up the rock climb more easily than most of the teams. (Disclaimer: I have never even been on a surfboard, and would last maybe one second upright on one, so I especially admire the skills needed to be athletic on those!)
  16. That's what made this so notable -- Phil usually does the stand-up and is out of the scene before the Racers arrive. But apparently they cut it too close this time! It was cute to suddenly have Racers run into the scene.
  17. Thanks, Richness, this all makes sense about the four-hour penalty. Once I realized they would have had four extra hours of rest, I thought there must be some mechanism to prevent that from happening. I still predict bunching will wipe out the penalty, but I'm fine with any team being eliminated that quit a RB on the first leg! By the way, I was quite surprised to see Phil ("Hi, Phil") on the beach when they arrived in St. Thomas -- he must have had great connections!
  18. Did a memo go out to the Racers that said "Do not hug the Phil"? He got so many sweaty, fish-scented hugs in recent seasons, but I don't think I saw anyone even try to reach for him in episode one.
  19. I watched it at cbs.com to see it in beautiful HD, and notice this time that the shovels had a yard's length marked on the wooden handle, so that was the measurement they were supposed to use. I wondered if there was more than one float plane taking them to the ship -- it seemed like they all got to the ship fairly quickly, maybe with a few minutes spaced between the flights, but not the 20-25 minutes it would take to go back and forth. They did not get to the treasure island until afternoon, based on the shadows -- did it really take most of the day just to get there? I don't know if they needed to connect in Miami for a flight to St. Thomas.
  20. In honor of the 25th "season": Drew: "Zambia. That's where we are." Kevin: "That's Namibia, jackass." etagloh, that is so perfect -- that is exactly who they reminded me of, but I did not put a name to them!
  21. It is the same thing, whether the four-hour penalty is actual waiting at the mat, or the start of the next day. Because your check-in time is *after* the penalty, and then you have to wait the same number of hours as the other teams before starting the next leg. These final two penalty teams probably got a little advantage of rest, unless TAR made them sit at the mat for four hours (I'm guessing not), which means they have Pit Stop hours plus their four penalty hours. So they end up with four extra hours of rest -- say they show up at midnight, when they have a four-hour penalty; that means (if there is a 12-hour Pit Stop) their Pit Stop time starts at 4:00 AM, and they still have to wait the same 12 hours before starting the next leg. (This is just for instance; I know the Pit Stops are no longer 12 hours, but adjusted for the next day's flight schedule.) As I said above, bunching will likely eliminate the penalty either on the next commercial flight, or an Hours of Operation at the next destination. I know what you mean, ShadowSixx, but that Racer with the rolled hay missed clues in the hay because she was so tired or was not looking closely enough. Inspirational in determination, not so much in execution. We all liked that team!
  22. I thought the penalty always started from the time the Racers arrived at the mat? I'm sure someone here know the rules. The reason being, you need to sit out whatever the time is and hope some team finishes *after* your penalty time. The Racers can't go sightseeing after they get the clue -- they need to get to the mat (where the clock starts, I believe).
