I'm not sure why I still watch this show as I wish half the characters would go the way of Beverly. It was pretty awesome of Juliette to send Glenn to Maddie's showcase. I wish the dumb girl would have listened to him, I mean anyone with an ounce of the maturity Maddie claims to have would have seen the red flags Cash was throwing out. Deacon, don't crawl back in a bottle, just sign away your part of the bar and be happy to be done with that asshole. I figured from the get go that Layla had arranged that paparazzi incident, so it wasn't surprising when Glenn brought it up. Chris Carmack was adorable with the baby! That was probably the one good scene in the show. I'm glad Will went to his mom's funeral anyway and that his dad seems to be coming around somewhat. I stopped caring about Scarlett and Gunnar a long time ago. They can still sing in the episodes as the music is good, but they've been in storyline hell for awhile now and it just keeps getting more boring. I'm finding myself liking Luke lately, I'm glad he's in Will's corner. Cash and her greasy dad should go play in traffic, so maybe instead of attempting to hit the bottle again, Deacon can just put a dollar on a fishing line (albeit a fishing line a hundred yards long), and hang it over the freeway and watch them chase it until, whoopsie, here comes Reba's tour bus to flatten them!

I liked Rory and Jess together the best, although most of their interactions that were the best were either before they were together or the episodes where he came back after he had matured a little bit. Once they were together it seemed like he had no idea how to act and had probably never been in a relationship like that before, and with his emotional problems that he had from growing up, his habit of pushing people away, and his determination to be the anti-Dean, he blew it all to hell. As much of a snitty little asshole as he could be though, there were some things that I did appreciate about him. He was never really afraid to call Rory on her shit whereas other people tended to kiss her ass. When she got back from Washington and was being pissy with him for kissing another girl when she had kissed him and run off before she left, hadn't contacted him in two months, and was still with her boyfriend, he called her out on it. When she dropped out of Yale and Lorelai basically stopped talking to her, her grandfather was trying to figure out ways to bribe her to get her back to school, and Logan wasn't really doing anything to help the situation, all it took was a Jess calling her out and she got her shit together right then and there. I also got tired of Lorelai making Jess out to be the devil and praising Dean all the time, "Dean wouldn't have gotten into an accident, Dean would have been more careful, Dean would have called, Dean is wonderful, blah blah blah". Dean was a sweet guy, but a total doormat, and I would have had my number changed if someone was calling me as much as he was calling Rory when he got all clingy. I feel like Lorelai liked having Dean around because she knew that he'd probably never even tongue kissed her daughter and kept his hands to himself so she was in the clear to continue being Rory's best friend instead of her parent. Rory's fascination with and later relationship with Jess forced Lorelai into the parent role probably much more than she would have liked. Not that I blame Lorelai for not liking Jess, he really didn't try very hard to get along with her and when he first got to town he was such a rude little shit to her that she should have smacked him across the face, so he really did not make a great first, second, third, etc. impression on her. He was a really troubled kid that needed to grow up and fix his problems and it's good that we got to see that he did. The later episodes that he was in, he seemed to have it more together than Rory did, probably because he was used to rejection and life kicking him in the ass and he grew up and got to where he knew how to dust himself off and move forward instead of acting out, whereas Rory was sheltered and always got whatever she wanted and had no clue how to deal with rejection or an ass kicking from life so she couldn't handle it when it did happen. Hopefully he'll have a good story arc in the revival whether he ends up back with Rory or not.

Rory really did annoy in that way. She always complained about privileged kids that had everything handed to them, yet she had wealthy grandparents to fall back on to pay for private school, Yale, etc. It's not like she was a scholarship kid from the slums. She also would come apart at the seams the second things didn't go her way (getting mad at Lorelai for not being happy that she slept with Dean who was married, then stealing a boat, dropping out of school, and moving in with her grandparents because she got a bad review on her internship). She'd always been told she was the best of the best of everything, and she couldn't handle dealing with the harsh realities of life. Emily was so in the wrong about going to Christopher and trying to bust up Luke and Lorelai, this control stuff was why Lorelai left in the first place. And then with her busting into the diner and trying to act like she did what she needed to try and save their relationship and couldn't get why they weren't back together, ummm....maybe because it's not about you Emily, butt out.

That's so weird that GL is getting mentions because when I was watching that scene with Anna and the doctor whose name I can't remember but is apparently Duke's son outside of a deli it reminded me of the outside scenes they used to have in front of Company on GL. Those were really the only scenes I watched today. Looked to be a Morgan/Kiki and Hayden/Nik day, so I took a nap.

Current Plots Discussion: Actually Today's Episode

Really wishing Theresa would have kicked Summer in the shins and shoved her out the door when she interrupted her and Brady today. Not a fan of Summer and it just continues the constant references to Daniel, I mean jeez, I don't think they even reference Alice Horton as much as him. Not a fan of Abigail in her current form either, but come on, she's got a crazy person after her and suddenly the french doors in the DiMansion don't always latch, and her new husband sees no issue with this? Did that place start falling apart the second Stefano died because there's no way in hell he would have stood for shoddy unlatching french doors. -

My fiance came into the room while I was watching the show yesterday and he looked at the tv and asked me when this show had turned into a watered down version of 24. I honestly had no comeback for that since the show has gotten so damn dark lately. I am glad Ciara called her mother and went to the doctor for testing and didn't torture Chase although I am glad he got to feel helpless for a bit, by all rights she could've gone all Jack Bauer on him. A Martinez was pretty adorbs in that backwards baseball hat, and I like him and John working together. -
Wait, what hospital is Jake in? I didn't quite catch the name.

Why was anyone really that worried about Morgan jumping off the GH roof? I mean hasn't it been pretty well established that when characters jump or fall off that roof they just bounce and live to murder, create mayhem, or wax poetic about Kelly's BLT's another day?

Current Plots Discussion: Actually Today's Episode

I just can't with Rafe trying to be all tough with his childhood in West Salem. West Salem, really? He was trying to make it sound like it was the Bronx in the 70's when it's probably just the area of town where there's like one abandoned house that bored teenagers go to smoke pot, I mean it's Salem! Shawn D looked really dumb today running through a darkened house all, "Is anyone home????". I'm okay with the idea of Nicole and Theresa going into business for themselves, but I have an idea it will get all convoluted with Brady having Daniel's memories (a plot point that is even dumber than Shawn D running around a dark empty house). I can't believe I'm going to say something nice about Jennifer, but good on her for calling in Lucas and not giving up on Eric. I'll be glad when/if the show finally forgets that Daniel was a thing. -

I've switched back over to Days because GH is abysmal lately. Had my reservations about JPL as Phillip, or even as an extra really because he can't seem to keep horrible acting tics at bay. Love VI, and will stick around to see where this is going because he makes everything better. Another backstory on John?? Really?? Do the writers just get bored and think this is even interesting? It'll just get retconned by the time the next vat of clam chowder is ready at the Brady Pub. Not loving that Steve and Kayla already have an obstacle thrown at them. Especially when that obstacle comes in the form of TB. She tends to simper and smug, and I find that highly punchable. Belle's mother-in-law is in crisis and she's just going to leave for Vegas with Phillip with this going on, two brothers in the hospital, and a daughter that clearly needs her mother at the moment? Guess she needed some MEEEEEEE!!!!! time. Also having some sort of weird love triangle because of a transplanted organ is dumb and overplayed. When my mom completely shattered her arm and had to get bones to rebuild her arm from the bone bank, we had great laughs once she was healed. My brother and I would go up and ask if her arm had magical powers, and which one of us she liked the best, but had to let the haunted arm choose. There's not haunted organs that tell you who to love and this is all ridiculous. -
How Alexis has not yanked Olivia's hair out by the roots and drowned her in a vat of marinara is beyond me. Seriously, tone Olivia down writers! I thought at first that this could be a good story with shared custody between people with no romantic interest in each other that had a one off and a baby, and could behave like adults, but I guess that's way too much to ask for from TFGH.

I loved it. Of course it had some flaws, but overall a great movie. I was introduced to Star Wars at an early age, it came out the year before I was born, and I saw Empire Strikes Back in the theatre, but I was too young to remember, although I do remember my mom taking me to see Return of the Jedi at the theatre when it came out ( I was 6 and very confused by the fact that the "vile gangster Jabba the Hutt" was not wearing a fedora and brandishing a tommy gun), and I had a well worn VHS tape of Episode IV, (my dad worked for an electronics company and we had a VHS prototype VCR in the house in the house and my brother had taped A New Hope, but it cut off before the end, so I had no idea they blew up the Death Star in that one until I saw Return of the Jedi, but I still watched it every day). I really liked Poe Dameron, his character is really getting me intrigued for the Rogue Squadron movies. I know he won't be a part of it, but I love the badass pilots (Wedge Antilles fan here). Rey was awesome and I liked seeing perhaps her former training/latent Jedi potential coming out. Finn is intriguing as well, I like the stormtrooper turning his back on all of it. Kylo Ren was pretty much was what I expected. It'll be interesting to see what happens there, although at the moment he honestly just strikes me almost like a rebellious teenager with a complex "Mommy and Daddy had to save the universe, so I found a mentor that paid attention to me!!!". It'll be interesting to find out the reasoning why he went darkside and how he was corrupted. I'll have to go to the books to fill in some of the blanks I suppose (Revenge of the Sith made a hell of a lot more sense after reading the book), granted, it shouldn't be that way, but they strayed so far away from some pertinent information there, I feel like finding an info dump on how the New Republic came about and why the resistance was necessary.

S03.E04: A Walk on the Wild Side
sashabear21 replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in The Originals [V]
I really liked Freya in this episode and her sibling dynamic with Klaus. Maybe since she hasn't been on team Always and Forever for the last thousand years and since Klaus can't dagger her and stash her in a coffin if she pisses him off, they can have a more normal sibling dynamic than he has with the rest of the Mikaelson siblings. Hailey is just kind of meh to me. I liked her and Elijah during previous seasons, but now the character is just falling kind of flat. I loved pretending to be wasted Klaus! Not feeling this season's big bads yet, but we'll see how this progresses. I also thought it was hilarious how Elijah tried to create some sort of elite society of vampires and then was like, "Nah, you guys suck, I'm out". -
S07.E03: Age Of Innocence

I'm starting to feel like I need a chart to figure out who is the love of each character's life because it changes so frequently. Jo was an okay character, but I don't get her as the love of Ric's life. I've had longer relationships with the contents of my fridge than they had. Also I don't get Stefan in 1883 jumping straight into sex with Valerie if he really liked her, it seems a lot out of character. The heretics are boring me, and I'm getting a little tired of these big bads that are impossible to kill until they aren't. Someone needs to just pick up the damn phone, call Klaus, have him do a guest spot and get rid of the heretics please and we can go on to something else. -
Does Sonny just think he can bark and threaten his way back into walking again? I can understand how his situation would be frustrating, but jeez man, listen to what the medical professional is telling you. Cannot comment on the Nina, Franco, Kiki mess because I was making a grocery list during their scenes, and it was far more interesting. I get that Julian was upset since he had thought his child was dead and he hasn't had the opportunity to raise any of his children, but slow your roll man! Running off to confront Olivia and start making demands about the baby was not well advised. Also maybe don't be an asshat and start acting like the baby is a toy that Olivia took away. It would be nice to see two people that don't like each other and have a baby together maybe try to get along and share custody for a change on this show.

If they're going to have scenes with Sabrina showing hesitation about telling Michael about the pregnancy, they really need to be careful to shoot her scenes from the shoulders up. It was ridiculous with her looking 13 months pregnant talking about how she hadn't told Michael yet. I choose to play it in my head that Michael has his head so far up Sonny's ass that he doesn't even realize his girlfriend looks like she could give birth at any moment. Ugh, I wish they would have left Olivia offscreen. I have no interest in the character or this storyline. Why is Kiki something that is still on my screen? Same question for Franco. Today I pretty much just liked Nathan's lines, a long overdue Lucas sighting, and Alexis's jacket. That is seriously all I could find to like.

Maybe in the future social media will come equipped with a breathalyzer or at the very least an admonishing voice like KITT from Knight Rider that asks if you're really sure you want to post that and then point out why it may not be the best idea. It amazes me how colossally stupid people can act on twitter. NLG really does deserve getting her ass handed to her right now. The first tweet was bad enough, but then to keep going with progressively worse statements was a terrible idea. I can't even watch the Corinthos Fun Time Family Hour lately without severe abdominal cramps, but it will be interesting to see if they write her off the show or not for these antics. They didn't fire Ron or take away his twitter privileges when he would have his massive asshole meltdowns, but that didn't get the attention of major news outlets or focus on a hot-button issue. I guess we'll have to wait and see how this all plays out.

Haven't watched in awhile, but a summer cold, and unable to really do anything else and my Roku remote was too far away, kinda forced my hand. What is going on with this show? The only thing I found enjoyable today was Julian not being at all impressed by Morgan's antics and Rebecca Budig's character (I think her name is Hayden?). Watching all the people wringing their hands over Sonny made me want to barf, so I got bored and tried to create a new language with my cat (pretty sure we came up with an "I hate Sonny" meow pattern). So sick of every damn time Sonny gets shot it's, "Sonny loves the people he loves because he loves so much and it's all love!". No, Sonny is a mobster that gets himself into these situations usually by his own shitty decisions. I really just should have trained my cat to bring me the Roku remote. I could have at least watched a good show then.

Watched Friday's episode and I've been on the barge, but I do have to say that I enjoyed the scenes between the 3 L's. They've worked together for so long, and there is clearly a lot of affection there, but it was more the actors working together and not the characters, and I was okay with that. I've liked Luke more in those scenes than I have in years. Bringing Jake (the young one because this is all starting to get confusing) back to life is something I figured would happen at some point, so not really surprised. I wish the reveal of Jake (the Jason Morgan one) would have played out with everyone knowing who he was, but keeping it secret because of how Jason Q acted when he couldn't remember who he was, and since that ended badly maybe everyone would be keeping the truth away and hoping maybe it would work out different this time.
-
Granted, I've been on the barge for awhile now, but have been keeping up with recaps online because reading about the show is far more entertaining than watching it these days (especially once I found out who the supposed "fan favorite" was, blegh). I watched today and I have a serious question, did everyone on this show (with the exception of Jordan) fall out of the stupid tree and hit every branch on the way down? Julian doesn't know what water breaking means? Anna's suddenly going to run off with mafia Duke like some numbnut "Our love will last forever and ever and there's nothing you can do to stop it" teenager? They were at a ball celebrating nurses and suddenly the only people around to deliver a severely (4 and half months by my count) premature baby is a neurosurgeon and no other medical staff? No one stops to think, "Hey, maybe we should see about this whole pool of blood thing and maybe follow it to see if the person needs medical assistance since clearly no one's busy helping the 4 months along pregnant lady in labor?". How did Maxie's screeching not set off car alarms in that parking garage? Michael and Sabrina I'm okay with, it's a dumb throwing together of two random characters, but I'm fine with anything as long as he still hates Sonny, please tell me he still hates Sonny. Jordan being a badass was the only thing that made up for any of this.
-
I watched the show for the first time in two months today, and I'm already wishing I hadn't. Hooray to Michael for telling Morgan to shut up and quit calling him Mikey. That needed to happen a long time ago. I still just can't with this Luke shit. They really need to retire the character. How long are they going to drag out this Jake/Jason reveal? Also, what the hell was Jason's fake wife wearing? It looked like a Gunne Sax dress my sister wore to Homecoming in the 80's. And she's just hanging out in the hotel wearing that? Whatever, guess she doesn't know the joys of hanging out in a hotel room wearing yoga pants and eating copious amounts of cheese. Morgan and Kiki need to be punched in the face repeatedly. I think I might need another two month break.
-
I will deal with all the sads of this episode to see that Bonnie and Damon hug! Bamon friendship forever! I wish they hadn't killed off Liz for a "Caroline turns off her emotions" story line, but we'll see where it goes and I liked her snapping Elena's neck. So Mama Salvatore is back somehow. Was she a witch? How much more complicated can this get? But, I've been wanting Mama Salvatore to come around since season 1, and she's played by the amazing Annie Wersching, so I'm all in for this.

Whenever Klaus gets that absolute shit eating grin on his face, you know something terrible and awesome is going to happen. So I'm looking forward to whatever happens. Aiden and Josh continue to be awesome and I love their story line. Jackson does speak with marble mouth, but the actor has improved from his time on General Hospital where he was marble mouthed and speaking in an ill-advised Australian accent. If Kol does die, he better get resurrected quickly, or Davina better scorch some earth because I always liked Kol. I really like the new Rebekah too, and if we can't have Claire Holt, I'm glad we have a good actress to carry on the role in a believable way. Should be interesting how things go now since it's now well known that Hope is alive. I'm not into magical baby tropes, but it would be kinda awesome to see Klaus go nuts trying to protect her, and then she just jangles some baby plastic keys and blows up a building or something. Seeing Klaus deal with the daughter he loves and realizing she's more powerful than him and how he's insane about being the most powerful supernatural being could create some crazy drama.
-
Hoping that Ron does not take this as cue to recreate the "success" of the text message killer story line as the butt message killer starring Dr. Noah Drake. "Dr. Drake, your butt harms people. Maybe not intentionally, but it harms people". Then he can join the Pentonville cast and when Sonny attempts an escape because Carly desperately needs his help because she forgot to pay her phone bill and doesn't understand how things work, the butt message killer can have his back and Sonny owes him one. It really writes itself.

I figured this would be the appropriate thread for this (please correct me if I'm wrong), but it looks like someone is pretty butthurt at Rick Springfield. http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2015/01/emotional_day_in_court_for_rick_springfield_in_butt-injury_lawsuit.html
