Both expressions are colloquialisms that were popular back in the day. ’Dry up’ just meant dry up and go away. Like beat it, get lost, scram. ‘Sam’ was just an all-purpose name, synonymous for man (usually used when a person’s given name was unknown). Examples like Jack, Mack, Bud, Pal were interchangeable. Get lost, Bud. Scram, Sam. Eddie was just trying to be cool and as usual, failing miserably.

T is for the Toppelkopper Triplets, Ben, Sven & Len. who notified Rose she was St. Olaf's Woman of the Year. Uff-da!

N is for Norman, Rose’s cross-eyed cousin that had performance issues. Both Dorothy and Blanche slept with him and agreed the fault was Norman’s. O is for Olga aka The Lean Mean Swedish Machine, Cousin Sven’s intended.
