  1. From People: The Most Outrageous Taco Bell Menu Items of All Time Some items have already been through testing, some are already on the national Taco Bell menu, some await testing (& potential placement on the national menu).
  2. Something similar happened to my Mom after she was in the hospital for a kidney transplant about 8 years ago. Now she doesn't like some of the food/drink things she did before the transplant, or she still likes them but fixed differently than before (like she used to get her cheeseburgers with just mustard, onion & pickle; now she eats them with everything except ketchup), or maybe she likes stuff she didn't before. I'm wondering if the girl whose kidney Mom got liked her cheeseburgers with everything but ketchup. They say that happens after a transplant--the recipient starts to sort of take on aspects of the donor, such as food likes.
  3. The new hires to replace Chin & Kono are Meaghan Rath (Tani) & Beulah Koale (Junior). Plus, Ian Anthony Dale (Kono's now long-distance husband, Adam Noshimuri), Taylor Wily (Kamekona), Kimee Balmilero (New Medical Examiner Dr. Noelani Cunha), & Dennis Chun (HPD Sergeant Duke Lukela, who works most often with Five-0 on their cases) were all promoted from Recurring Cast status to Regular Cast status this season, complete with their names & scenes they've been in in the main title sequence. It's assumed all those Cast Status promotions were connected to the unexpected departures of Grace Park & Daniel Dae Kim, but I'd like to play Devil's Advocate here & say that, at least Ian, Taylor, & Dennis might've been promoted even if Grace & DDK stayed, because of how long they've been on the show & how popular those characters have become. Kimee's promotion to Regular Cast status may be more of a popular character situation (like when Masi Oka's Max Bergman Medical Examiner was promoted from Recurring in S1 to Regular in S2); though, granted, it also may have been to help put a "Hawaii local"/more "ethnic" face back on the show after losing its only Asian heritage lead cast members in S7. Christine Ko (Adam's CI, Jessie Nomura) was only hired to act in that storyline, as far as I know, & will probably be leaving the show once Adam's story arc ends.

  5. FYI... Eagle-eyed people/show fans, whatever, who've read all of the linked press release above, including the guest actors & the roles they played, have noticed that the young actor listed as playing the role of "Kid", in the 11th spot out of 14 guest actors--if I figured it out correctly--is Spike Jones Stedman. For those who don't know, Spike is Alex's 9-year-old stepson from his wife Malia's previous marriage, to Australian pro surfer Luke Stedman. Since Alex & Malia try to maintain their sons' privacy (given that Spike & Lion--Alex & Malia's son together--are still legal minors; I think Alex's eldest son, Saxon, is a legal adult now... at least here in the US, if not also in Australia), I have the feeling the scene(s) with Spike won't really be that long (like long enough most people could recognize him later), so they can hopefully maintain Spike's privacy afterwards; but it at least seems to be a long/big enough part that Spike got a guest starring credit for it (as I remember, there are certain criteria that have to be met about the size of an acting role so it gets credited, or not). I think the credit is cool (although, in the end it was probably a "courtesy" thing Peter & the other showrunners did because Spike is Alex's stepson & Alex is the first lead in the show). And I like that, even though I bet the role of "Kid" is probably really teeny, they chose to let Spike do it with a publicized credit (which they had to know would be--& has been--noticed by really observant fans of Alex & the show, who either read the press release themselves or heard about it from someone else who did), instead of having Spike do it uncredited so he could maintain his anonymity (or however much anonymity he has around Honolulu, given who his biological parents & stepfather are).

  8. She got another 15 minutes because of the movie I, Tonya which, instead of being a "straight" biopic, was more like a "black comedy" version of her life (or so I heard/saw it described once); to a probably lesser extent, because the movie got another 15 minutes after actress Allison Janney (known for The West Wing, Mom, Masters of Sex--the shows for which she's won her 7 Emmys, to date--plus a bunch of other movie, TV, & Broadway/Stage roles) won in 1 of the (I'd count) 6 major Oscar categories, Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role, for her portrayal of Tonya's mom, LaVona Golden; Australian-born actress Margot Robbie was also up for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role, for playing Tonya, but lost to Frances McDormand (BTW, I'd consider the 6 major Oscar categories to be Best Performance by a Lead Actor & Lead Actress, Best Performance by a Supporting Actor & Actress, Best Director & Best Picture). And I suppose the DWTS producers thought it might be interesting to have Tonya on--if she'd do it, which I figured she would because of the money; & it would be like the athletic/reality show equivalent of the old "equal time" rule regarding political candidates & at least the amount of TV time each got during campaigns, if Tonya did the show too since Nancy Kerrigan, Tonya's (alleged) arch rival at the major figure skating competitions & the Olympics, & the victim of a steel pipe attack intent on injuring her dominant skating leg, in order to try & keep her out of the upcoming Olympics--which Tonya was found/believed to have been involved with--was in DWTS during 1 of the last 2 seasons.

  12. Presumably trying to be on the safe side & not give any viewers who might harbor such things any ideas on how to use the chlorine/the tank with the chlorine in a negative, & potentially deadly in a "mass casualty" incident, sort of way. That's what I can think of, anyway.
  13. Isn't it interesting how some of the really famous athletes end up dying on either opening day for their sport's current season, or some other day/date that's significant to their sport? Like Frank Gifford died on Sunday of NFL Hall of Fame induction weekend in 2015, & they were supposed to play the Hall of Fame football game that night, as I remember. And the date he died, August 9th, was exactly a week before his & his wife Kathie Lee's shared birthday--he would've been 85; I think she was 60.
  14. I wish a company would get the rights which would do right by the Raymond Burr version of Ironside (there was a very short-lived NBC reboot/more like a reimagining--like only lived 3 episodes short--a few years ago, which causes the version clarification, with Blair Underwood as Ironside & in which pretty much everything was changed about the show except the title, the main character's name, his disability, & (I think) how he became disabled (if you ask me, changing so much about the show from the original was probably what killed the new version). So far, of an 8-season show that was canceled in, like, 1975 (& I realize it took at least a couple of decades, or longer, beyond the '70's, for DVDs to even be created, let alone for a company that makes/sells them to get a license to release the original Ironside in DVD format), Shout! Factory's only up to/through Season 4 of the original (including releases of selected episodes only from each of the first 2 seasons), & it took forever, pretty literally, for them to get this much released (supposedly because the first season or 2 didn't sell well). They went to releasing S3 & S4 through their Shout! Select program, where you buy the DVDs straight from them, in 2010 because of the alleged lack of sales at retail. And then S5 & S6 was announced for release (though maybe not with specific dates), again direct from them to the consumer, in--if not also for--2011. Those never happened. At least not yet. Then, nothing happened with the title until 2017, when Shout! Select became the division involved with movies they consider classics (or something like that). And that's the last word anybody's ever heard about the series' releases on DVDs; nothing else has been said about the previously promised S5 & S6 releases. I don't have any of the releases that are out now, because I'm (probably hopelessly) waiting for a company/label which will release a Complete Series set. All information gathered from here. Oh... & another thing which bugs me is when you have 1 part of at least a 2-series crossover on DVD, but not the other part(s) because either the series, as a whole, with the other part(s) hasn't/haven't been released on DVD yet, or because the specific season(s) with the other part(s) of the crossover hasn't/haven't been released yet. Now that DVDs exist, why can't arrangements regularly be made between 2 (or more) different series which do crossovers with each other so that all the parts of the episode can be bought on the involved DVD for each show in the crossover, instead of having to buy separate DVDs for each part? It can happen... when Hawaii Five-0 & CSI: Los Angeles did a crossover between the 2 series, which are produced by different production companies/producers, though they air on the same network, in the 2011-2012 TV season, both parts of the crossover were on the DVDs for each show involved; you didn't have to buy each show's separate DVDs to get the entire episode. The other show's episode was among the Special Features on whichever show's DVDs you bought. And, a friend who collects the DVDs for all the CSI shows (except maybe Cyber) said that the episode which spans all the way across the original 3 CSI shows (before Cyber) to complete has all the episode parts on the DVDs for each separate show (the other 2 parts are among the Special Features on the DVDs for the 3rd show). As an example of only having 1 part of a 2-series crossover on DVD (which I actually bought because I thought both parts of the episode were on the DVD I bought), there was an episode involving the characters of the original Ironside--in Season 6, or 1 of the others that are still in some form of limbo regarding their release--which started on that show & ended on the old anthology show The Bold Ones, which rotated stories about a Senator, Lawyers, Doctors, & Cops, in an episode that focused on the Doctors (this part of the anthology lasted, like, 4 seasons while each of the others only lasted a season or so... definitely less than 4 seasons). A supporting character from Ironside was the victim of an assassination attempt (I think to keep him from testifying in a court case), during which he fell from a high-level hotel balcony railing, which he was (unadvisedly) sitting on, & his spine was severely injured as a result; after the injury he underwent treatment by the Doctors in the other show to try to fix his spine. Well that, for whatever reason, happens to be an episode of Ironside that I really liked. And a couple of years ago, they (I think Shout! Factory, in fact) started releasing the various segments of the entire The Bold Ones series on DVD. They eventually got to the episodes with The New Doctors (the title of that segment of the overall show), & I ordered it--partly because I liked that segment of the whole series a lot, & partly because it had what I thought was the complete episode of the crossover with Ironside. Only, when I got the DVDs, it turned out that I only got the 2nd part of the episode, which was the part that aired on The Bold Ones; the first part, which was on the original Ironside, wasn't included even though I think Shout! Factory presumably could've found a way to include both parts of the episode in that DVD since they have, or at least had then, the DVD rights to both The Bold Ones & the original Ironside, & you'd think they'd have the rights to all of the seasons that were produced of each show.
  15. Indeed it has. Deadline and Other Entertainment Media Reported It Earlier Today. It's only S2 of the new version, but it's the 11th season for the series overall because of the previous 9 seasons of the same show. Reports say S2 will have 13 episodes.
  16. From Deadline: ABC's Roseanne Revival Renewed for Second Season (11th Season of the Series Overall) 13 episodes have apparently been ordered for the second season.
  17. I think now that Elizabeth has begun bonding with Paige, & perhaps realized what she missed by not letting herself get closer to the kids when they were growing up, that yeah, she resents it at least seems Philip has all this time to spend with especially Henry, as well as line dancing etc.--like he's not even worried about the whole "spy" thing anymore; although I'm pretty sure he does maintain an interest in those things since his wife's still an active operative, & now their daughter is at least a part-time active operative as well (trying to make sure, the best he can, that the mission won't be really dangerous for either/both of them). I agree... Paige will probably do anything she has to to keep her mom interested in her, in a positive way as opposed to a negative way.
  18. I knew, or at least thought it might not be, a legal ID. I said so when I answered.
  19. USA Today did a couple of articles about/in preparation for the new season, which ran (I think) on Monday but weren't found & linked in the forum until Wednesday. For whatever reason, 1 had to do with counting how many wigs, kills, & 'honeytraps' Philip & Elizabeth wore &/or were involved with over the length of the series from the beginning. I linked both articles here, in the Media thread.
  20. Well, she would probably still need her college ID if it wasn't fake & if she actually had classes to go to; especially depending on how hard it might've been to get the ID replaced (which, I suppose, she could also do if she had to). At least at the college where I went, it seemed like you needed it for stuff way more than you expected to, or way more than you needed any of your other school ID's--besides the college 1-- for stuff. As I remember, among the stuff we needed our college ID for was to check things out of the campus library; I think, once we had 1 we had to show it when we chose & registered for our new classes every semester, to help verify we were actually enrolled (& I'm pretty sure there was another method they verified our enrollment status with, since it's entirely possible for someone to make a fake ID); we also had to use it if we wanted the student admission fee for on campus events that required tickets or admission fees. And there was other stuff we needed our ID's for that I can't remember right now. It's been 33 years since I went to college. So, yeah, I could probably see why Paige would be pissed off about that guy keeping/trying to keep her ID.
  21. FYI... At the end of the post, you said, "look at the difference between Gabriel and Martha," then you described the differences between Gabriel & Claudia (whom I suspect you were referring to all along, instead of Martha). Just thought you might wanna fix that.
  22. I think a lot of the ones in DC are actually near the Smithsonian National Zoo, which I think is also near Rock Creek Park (as I remember, that's where they found the body of that missing Congressional intern, Chandra Levy). I suck at geography though. My brother lives in the Virginia suburbs of DC, near Reagan National Airport. As I remember, we did pass a lot of embassies (& maybe some consulates), & I think Hillary Clinton's DC house from while she was Secretary of State, & maybe also a US Senator from NY, on the way to the National Zoo to see the pandas (I think pre any of their cubs) when we visited my brother. I think the guidebooks called that area "Embassy Row" because so many are located there. As I remember, it was an OK area; maybe a little sketchier the closer you got to Rock Creek Park.
  23. Considering they did a 3-year time jump between last season & this, I'm assuming she became less conflicted & more committed offscreen.
