  1. NBC also was—& so far still is—supposed to run however many hundreds (or more?) of hours they contracted for of the Summer Olympics from Tokyo in July. So, unless they just decide to bag the whole thing—which they haven’t yet—because of pressure they’re getting from the governing bodies of various sports that are showcased in the Summer Games, as well as from Canada which, on Sunday night US time, threatened to keep their team home from the games if they weren’t canceled/postponed & a threat of the Coronavirus still exists at any of the Japanese locations involved with the games, we’ll hopefully at least still have the Olympics to watch this summer (at least if you’re into that sorta thing).

  3. I missed parts of this ep when it was new, & again tonight when it was a repeat. Does anyone know what happened to Courtney, the girl Ryan & the Judges put through without her being vetted by the producers/the other stuff you have to go through before you’re supposed to get to Ryan, Luke, Katy & Lionel?
  4. This was a hit for him at Pop & Adult Contemporary radio too; I know they played it there, seemingly a lot, back in the day. It was originally from the soundtrack of a movie he starred in, called “Six Pack”. It was him, kids & auto racing.
  5. Regarding the bolded: To be fair, I believe Scott did like the surfing in Hawaii, & perhaps some other things. I think his biggest objection was the distance/commute between Hawaii & the Mainland, where his dad &, presumably, his (female) partner & daughter live, & the length between breaks in the shooting schedule that were long enough for him to fly there to visit without flying in 1 day & flying back the next day or the 2nd day after that (which is why, I’m sure, he eventually got his contract renegotiated to give him additional time off during filming; hopefully even more necessary to Scott once his daughter was born, almost 6 years ago).

  7. From the Honolulu Star-Advertiser: Actor Daniel Dae Kim Tests Positive for Covid-19/Novel Coronavirus Well, at least we know (or are probably more sure than not) he’s been off of the H50 set long enough that he probably hasn’t potentially exposed anybody in the cast/crew to the virus—even more so now that they’ve wrapped production on the show.
  8. I just watched the ceremony part again, I guess you could say “On Demand,” on YouTube TV on my phone. They may have filmed the brides coming down the stairs (which did have a concrete railing, but the steps next to it weren’t as clean as the part of the stairs they walked down was... & I know it probably wasn’t that clean either, but it at least looked cleaner), but when they showed them in their walk to meet their groom, at least the A’s, the C’s & the O’s were out of order that I noticed. Like, Alabama went, then they skipped to Arizona & Arkansas, then went back to Alaska. I wonder if they closed Kleinfeld for the taping. I recognized the male owner, Ronnie, in the crowd & I think I saw 1 of the Consultants, Lisa, in the crowd, in a blue & white print top or dress. Or maybe they didn’t close it & Ronnie & Lisa just managed to take the time off.
  9. Yes, Steve was at Charlie’s Police Academy graduation, & Tani & Junior were married... & she was the head of Five-0, which Charlie was about to join. It was in Danny’s dreams when he was shot by some guy while he, Steve, Tani & Junior were quarantined for exposure to some virus that was on a yacht involved in a case. If I remember right, Danny had slept with the guy’s wife while he still lived/worked in New Jersey & she reported her husband for domestic abuse. Danny had an Uncle Vito (I think) who was helping Danny & Steve with the restaurant they were gonna own together during that part of the season, & he somehow hooked up with the wife beater guy & was bragging about Danny, including telling the guy he’d moved to Hawaii, not knowing the guy was looking to get revenge on Danny for sleeping with his (ex?) wife after all these years.
  10. Another thing that bothered me about the wedding: The female commentator said the exact same thing, word-for-word (though I couldn’t tell you exactly what now), about the 2 couples who’d been together since they were high school sweethearts. She could’ve tried to think of something else to say about 1 couple so when they both watch this back—& you know they will—they won’t feel weird, or whatever, she used a “cookie cutter” comment to describe both couples. If it were me & my spouse, & we got married with another couple who’d been together as long as us, I think I’d feel awkward if a commentator or officiant, or something, described my spouse & I, & the other couple, in the exact same way during the ceremony.
  11. I get they wanted the wording (“brides/grooms & partners) to match, & maybe the person who wrote the vows (I’m not sure Randy did) isn’t gay, &/or wasn’t thinking, but you’d think Randy—who’s pretty obviously gay—would’ve read through the vows ahead of time & tried to figure a way to get the “brides & partners” section fixed so it correctly recognized that there were 2 lesbian couples marrying (which I was happy to see—I figured TLC would’ve said the mass wedding was fine, but all the couples had to be straight, which wouldn’t have been fair since gay marriage is legal here), so not all brides had husbands, but it didn’t sound drastically different from the “grooms & partners” section. Maybe he could’ve changed “husbands” to “spouses”? Except that doesn’t indicate gender & “wives” does—so then the wording doesn’t balance out. Maybe instead of “wives” & “husbands”, which indicate genders, they should’ve said “spouses” for both, because “spouses” doesn’t indicate gender. At least Randy got the “I now pronounce you married!” part right. I’m sorry the other brides in the lesbian couples didn’t get to shop for dresses if they wanted them. Maybe they’ll fix that if they do this again. And I can’t believe they didn’t have the brides walk in alphabetical order either. Who on the staff of that show doesn’t know the correct order of the state names?
  12. I’m wondering what they did about marriage licenses & other legal formalities (like do you need a blood test to get married in NYC or NY State)? Did TLC arrange for them all to get marriage licenses? Somewhere in the vows, I think when Randy got to “Grooms & Partners,” I also thought they could’ve been written a little better to acknowledge the lesbian couples involved. Something about that section of the vows just sounded weird, to me, when you had 50 straight & 2 same-sex marriages involved. I hope somebody understands what I mean.
  13. From The Hollywood Reporter (THR): Lorenzo Brino, ‘7th Heaven’ Star, Dies at 21 (Report) He & his twin brother, Nikolas, played the youngest Camden children, twins Sam & David (he was Sam), in the later years of the series. He was killed in a car accident.
  14. At least I knew his first name & that he was in Doogie Howser, M.D.! After I posted before, I remembered James B. Sikking, another HITG!, was Doogie’s dad. I’ve gotta admit, I get Lawrence Pressman & Laurence Luckinbill confused a lot for some reason.
  15. Yeah. F Doris. It’ll be interesting to see what she left for Steve with this English guy who isn’t Steve’s friend Harry the British Special/Secret Agent. I like they gave a reason for Danny’s absence this week. But considering his kids are, like, 9 years apart in age (Charlie was born in the S2 Valentines Day ep, when Gracie was supposed to be 9 years old—IRL Teilor Grubbs is a year older, as I remember), & Grace’s supposed to be in college now, with Charlie in Elementary School (probably around 3rd grade, I think... or he should be, based on being born in February of S2), I’m not sure I buy Danny having both kids off for Spring Break at the same time. Not even with Charlie going to a private school, Leeward Academy, where he & Gracie both went before she graduated & which was a different private school than Gracie went to (Academy of the Sacred Hearts) before Charlie was school age. And no reason for Quinn being missing... again. Maybe she was with her stepdaughter we met last week.
  16. Not Tom Berenger (he’s already been on at least once, playing Danny’s dad), if you mean Hirsch’s uncle. Uncle Oscar was played by Michael Nouri (I think he was a big soap actor back in the day). His friend Stanley, I’m pretty sure, was a HITG! named Laurence Luckinbill. He’s married to Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz’s actress daughter, Lucie & I think he was Doogie (Neil Patrick Harris)’s dad in Doogie Howser, M.D., also back in the day.
  17. Ian Anthony Dale (Adam) actually had roles in 2 different limited series running concurrently with H50. When he was first being introduced as Adam, he played a San Francisco (I think) cop on a TNT network drama called Murder in the First. Then he got the role in Peter Lenkov’s Sci-Fi series Salvation, which ran on CBS for a couple of recent summers.
  18. It’s probably a good thing the show wrapped filming early this season, compared to others. If they were still filming, they’d have probably decided to shutdown production, like Grey’s Anatomy, Grace and Frankie, & others have so as not to risk exposing their stars, crew & other staff to the Coronavirus.
  19. From USA Today: Henri Richard, Hockey Hall of Famer and Canadiens Legend, Dies at 84 According to the linked obituary, he died of Alzheimer’s Disease. Nicknamed “Pocket Rocket,” he was the younger brother of Hall of Famer Maurice “Rocket” Richard.
  20. At least we know Adam & Kono’s divorce is apparently official. Adam referred to “my ex-wife” in 1 of the scenes with Quinn while they were looking for her ex-husband. I thought that “You’re gonna miss this...” from Steve to Danny was interesting too. I’m not sure if we’re supposed to take that as they knew at that point in filming, or if it wasn’t supposed to mean anything now but rather in the (probably not-too-distant) future. I mean, I’ve heard that nobody expected it would end this season; they supposedly already had hats made up commemorating Season 11. Plus, though there’s been lots of speculation that it’s over because Alex &/or Scott didn’t wanna sign new contracts for at least S11, we’ve never heard who or what was actually responsible for pulling the plug on the show now. It doesn’t seem like it was CBS—all their comments still referred to it being a hit show & a moneymaker for the network. It doesn’t really seem like it was Lenkov’s idea, as the Exec Producer/Creator, to end it either; & Alex’s statement didn’t point, really, to it beIng his decision... although he did that Australian newspaper interview where he said he’d be ready to leave after S8 because his body was so damaged from stunts he probably shouldn’t have done himself (this is S10); then he did another interview before S9, saying he’d used stem cell treatments & he felt his back could do another season (he did 2). Those interviews are all we have pointing to Alex (& probably Scott) leaving as why we now have just 2 new episodes left.
  21. If you’re near Northeast Indiana & haven’t seen this yet, this is from our local NBC newscast today: Trader Joe’s Takes ‘Necessary Steps’ Toward Fort Wayne Store; Jefferson Pointe Work Begins That store would be in Fort Wayne, IN. Also... if you haven’t heard, the guy who started Trader Joe’s died over the weekend or towards the end of last week; his obit is in the In Memoriam thread.
