  1. Sounds yummy! I’d have cleaned my plate, had I been there. Meat loaf (with gravy or ketchup), mashed potatoes (Yukon or not, as long as they’re not sweet potatoes or a color other than the usual white-ish) & green peas are 3 of my favorite foods.
  2. From The Hollywood Reporter (THR): Sirio Maccioni, Who Opened Famed Eatery Le Cirque, Dead at 88 He had suffered from the effects of a stroke and Alzheimer’s Disease, his son said.
  3. From The Hollywood Reporter (THR): Tom Lester, the Wide-Eyed Farmhand Eb Dawson on Green Acres, Dead at 81 The cause of death was complications of Parkinson’s Disease.
  4. Regarding the bolded: The problem with that is, then you have people saying how crappy the original stuff is (& really there are only so many ideas you can create a TV show [or a movie] from anyway), & why don’t they bring back this show or that show instead of airing the original crap? Regardless of what gets programmed, someone’s not gonna be happy & it’s gonna be a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” situation.
  5. On top of the coronavirus crap, isn’t there the possibility of a writers’ strike that may mess the new TV season up further? I thought someone mentioned a possible writers’ strike somewhere on these forums before or near the beginning of when the pandemic started on our shores, but I could be wrong.

  7. Brian Dennehy had a recurring role in NBC’s The Blacklist. At the time everything began shutting down because of the pandemic, that show was filming Episode 19 of what was supposed to have been a 22-episode season. This episode (19) will now be the season finale. Brian Dennehy was supposed to have been in this episode (but it appears he hadn’t started filming by the time production was shut down because of the pandemic). The Producers say that Dennehy will still be in the episode, with existing and previously filmed footage used for the appearance. It will also mark (obviously) Dennehy’s character’s final appearance on the show.
  8. I think the actor who played the father died. So they’ll have to recast that role if they go forward. I’d swear the person in the ALF costume for certain, more mobile, scenes has passed too, but I’m less positive on that.
  9. Obviously they think more people would recognize Brian Dennehy from that role, than his classier, more important ones. “Lowest Common Denominator,” & all that? I was actually surprised when I saw his obit. For some reason I thought he had died years ago... & I have no idea who I could be mixing him up with.
  10. He’s also a war veteran attempting to get past something that happened in France, as I remember from the HBO character description of Perry I posted in the topic for The Americans when it was announced Matthew Rhys had gotten the role of Perry Mason. Here is a page put out by HBO with descriptions of the major/major supporting characters in the show, including the description of Perry (but not on the original page I linked to... same description, different source page) that I linked to in The Americans’ topic when Matthew’s being cast as him was originally announced.
  11. Way back at, or towards, the beginning of his storyline, Adam actually spoke Japanese to his father (a big Yakuza player who was believed dead, but was actually hiding as I remember) in a telephone call scene. So, yeah, the Japanese could’ve been done on Ian Anthony Dale’s part; partially, perhaps, because he’s part Japanese in real life.
  12. From ESPN: Yankees’ Co-Owner Hank Steinbrenner Dies at 63 After Lengthy Illness
  13. From TMZ: Voice of Brainy Smurf, Danny Goldman, Dead at 80 After Two Strokes
  14. Former Vikings, Seahawks QB Tarvaris Jackson Dies in Car Crash He was 36. His 10-year NFL career began in Minnesota. The 6-foot-2 quarterback helped the Vikings win the NFC North title in 2008 before his sole postseason appearance, a wild-card loss to Philadelphia. Jackson ended his time in Minnesota as Brett Favre’s backup for the 2009-10 seasons. Jackson signed with Seattle as a free agent in 2011. He compiled a 7-7 record as a starter before being traded to Buffalo ahead of the 2012 season; he didn’t register a snap there. In 2013, he returned to Seattle, where he was Russell Wilson’s backup in the Seahawks’ Super Bowl XLVIII victory over the Denver Broncos. and... Also from ESPN: Oilers’ Colby Cave, 25, Dies After Suffering a Brain Bleed Besides the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL, he also played for the NHL’s Boston Bruins
  15. From USA Today: Philadelphia Eagles Legend Pete Retzlaff Dies at 88 He was a Captain & integral part of the Eagles’ 1960 NFL championship team. He died Friday of natural causes. He was 88. He played for the Eagles from 1956-1966 & was only 1 of 9 Eagles players to have their number retired. The football records he holds are numerous & can be found in the linked article.
  16. Daniel Dae Kim is auctioning off, through eBay, his entire set of Hawaii Five-0 scripts from Season 1-Season 7 (that’s 168 scripts, all with his notations, etc., on how to play scenes/lines; the Pilot script ONLY is autographed by DDK, Alex, Scott & Grace Park) to benefit those on the front lines battling COVID-19... the healthcare workers. The winner will get the entire set of scripts. 50% of the winning bid will go to a hospital DDK chooses; 50% will go to a hospital the winning bidder chooses, to benefit COVID-19. To top it all off, the winning bidder will also win a 15-minute video chat with DDK as a thanks for participating. DDK discusses the whole thing here.
  17. From ET Canada (since the US ET gave up on covering the show years ago): Another Interview with Peter Lenkov About the Show’s Finale and Ending Scene Worth reading, I think.
  18. I don’t think so, but it was never really clear. I know Rachel (from England) & Amber, aka Melissa (from New Jersey), weren’t, as far as Danny was concerned (& I think his hookup in the bar who later died in the car accident after the hookup was from someplace else too). Not positive about Steve.
  19. Regarding the bolded: Rachel & the kids weren’t always out of town the numerous times Danny was near death. In the first season episode where Danny was exposed to Sarin at a house where Wo Fat was supposed to be hiding out (but wasn’t—they found Sang Min instead, along with a confused elderly man who was killed by the Sarin... which had nothing to do with Wo Fat or Sang Min), Rachel was out of town, on a trip to Maui with Stan trying to patch up their bad marriage when Danny was stricken; he also was responsible for taking care of Gracie at the time—“Uncle Steve” had to pick her up at school & he brought Gracie to the hospital. Gracie, who was all of 8 at the time, or almost 8, had her own cellphone which was bought for her by her rich stepfather, Stan. Rachel happened to call & check up on Gracie after she got dropped off at the hospital, Gracie promptly told her Danny was in the hospital (while he was trying to signal Gracie NOT to, of course) & the next thing you knew Rachel had flown back from Maui & was with Danny & Gracie at the hospital (you know she’s supposed to have been worried about who’s taking care of Gracie, but with undertones of worrying about Danny because she still has some feelings for him, which she won’t admit). Rachel & Gracie spent the rest of Danny’s hospitalization camped out with him in his room, Rachel sleeping in a chair next to his bed, Gracie camped out on the couch under the window, & they drove him hill back to work when he was released. Charlie wasn’t there, because he’d been neither conceived nor born yet. I guess, in a way, the Steve & Noelani relationship reminds me of the Hawkeye & Nurse Kellye relationship in M*A*S*H—that was another relationship where the girl who’s not a knockout, more a brainy type, has a crush on the handsome guy who looks at every woman he sees in the room romantically but her (although we never knew if Noelani had a crush on Steve, or if he saw her romantically). Alan Alda actually wrote a really good M*A*S*H episode with that theme, about Hawkeye & Nurse Kellye.
  20. I have COZI on a TV app on my iPhone. They’re not running The Avengers right now.
  21. From CNN: Jay Benedict, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Actor, Dies From Coronavirus He was 68.
  22. From the Detroit Free Press: Tigers Legend Al Kaline Dies at 85. No cause of death was given.
  23. He was the nationally-known celebrity on the first March of Dimes Telethon (Back then, they were “Teleramas”) I did as National Poster Child. It was in Lexington, KY in 1971. I was actually the 1972 Poster Child, but they had me “get my feet wet” by doing some Telethons in 1971. Sharon Gabet is from my hometown. I think we went to the same local college—but not at the same time.
  24. I think we’re supposed to assume Danny’s running the task force while Steve’s gone—at least once he’s fully recovered from his injuries & surgery—since, in franchise canon, Danny is Steve’s 2-I-C. While Danny’s still recuperating, I’d say Lou’s in charge in the office & the field, given that he’s the next most senior member of the task force, but in consultation with Danny; I feel (If not for those untimely hissy fits about salary parity, causing Chin & Kono’s departures, Chin would be in charge instead of Grover because he was on the task force before Grover).
