  1. If you weren't aware, you can still watch Whose Line...?. The CW network revived it in 2013, with Aisha Tyler (from The Talk & Archer, among other things) as the new host. Colin Mochrie & Ryan Stiles from the original US version are on every week; Wayne Brady's on most weeks, if not every week; they also have a celebrity guest every week, just as with the original. It's on tonight (Christmas Eve) & again tomorrow night (Christmas night). I think it usually airs on Fridays. And yeah, they still have times when they have trouble doing the improvs 'cause they're trying not to bust out laughing from either the situation or the improv being created based on it.
  2. It could've been The Chew, on ABC. They ran a repeat today, from their "Cookie Week", & Michael Symon did a story on some cookies out of somewhere in New York (I can't remember the brand/bakery name), interviewing the company/bakery owner & saying to them--or before or after the filmed segment--that their chocolate chip cookies are so good he eats a whole bag in 1 sitting. When the original poster said something similar about the cookies they were talking about, that made me think of it.
  3. Looks like Steve will get a chance to redeem himself as the pageant's host. According to Entertainment Tonight (aka ET), between the time he was named as Host & the pageant itself, he signed a multi-year deal to host it, for a timeframe of 3 to 6 or 7 years (I, at least, am not completely clear if that includes the just aired pageant or not, but I think it does); the deal is said to be "massive"--financially worth more than they've ever paid a host. http://m.etonline.com/news/178599_inside_steve_harvey_massive_multi_year_deal_to_host_miss_universe/
  4. That's a better deal than I got (I paid almost $72 before tax, etc., at Amazon--but it still wasn't a bad deal 'cause it was 76% off list price), but that's cool. As I mentioned in another thread, I got mine today. I like it. Can't wait to look at the Pilot script copy included in the box (it's just in the Complete Series set). Except for that, the individual seasons booklets being combined into a single Complete Series book, & the 1st 2 or 3 seasons being changed from double-sided discs to single-sided discs, the contents are exactly the same as in the individual seasons sets, so you're not missing any content by buying the Complete box (& you're getting a copy of the Pilot script you wouldn't otherwise have gotten). It even looks like the cast photos on the discs are the same in each season in the Complete set as they are in the individual seasons sets. I hope you enjoy it! And at least now you won't have to depend on Netflix streaming it for you to be able to watch it.
  5. Let me guess... The part where Jed talks on the radio to the crewman on the tender ship caught in the hurricane, with most/all of the main cast standing around him as he does it. Right? By the way, I got my Complete Series boxed set today. Very cool.
  6. What about when Will had the birthday party at the zoo? And his last birthday was at the science demonstration/activity place (we have a similar facility here, called Science Central). It's not like, compared to Zoey, his birthdays have been at Chuck E. Cheese's. I think they've had reasonably similar birthday experiences, tailored to what each individual child has been interested in at the time of the birthday/party planning, whether or not it looks like the same amount of money has been laid out by Bill & Jen to finance the festivities. And Zoey's 3rd was at the house, in their yard, not at an "attraction" or a nice hotel--though, yeah, Bill & Jen had a petting zoo/animals at it since the theme was based around Old McDonald Had a Farm (her favorite song at least at the time of the party). And Will had a couple of animals at his zoo birthday party, too.
  7. You probably got what they were saying from their reactions, but they were basically repeating "Oh my God!".
  8. He--Quayle--was also my Congressman/1 of my state's US Senators before being elevated to the Vice-Presidency. And no, I didn't mean anything malicious by the spelling thing. I'm just a normally almost National Spelling Bee caliber good speller/really good in English, & I took Spanish almost all the way from 8th grade-the end of college, & "Colombia" vs. "Columbia" is something that always gets to me because of that scholastic combo.
  9. Towards the end of this article, it says a Colombian law firm is planning to sue the pageant over the winner announcement debacle--just as I wondered here on Sunday night/Monday if that might be tried. http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/people/2015/12/22/pageantgate-still-pumping-out-outrage-derision-and-talk-of-plots/77746932/ Despite at least 1 report elsewhere, linked in my previous post, E! Entertainment Television says Steve attended every one of his pageant rehearsals IN FULL. http://m.eonline.com/news/726042/steve-harvey-attended-every-one-of-his-rehearsals-from-start-to-finish-despite-miss-universe-blunder After initially stating, yesterday, that (the half-German) Miss Philippines shouldn't have won Miss Universe & that none of the contestants who placed out of the Top 15 voted for her to win, Miss Germany (who was among the also-rans)--or at least her pageant organization--issued an apology for those comments to the new Miss Universe today. http://lifestyle.inquirer.net/217227/miss-germany-backtracks-apologizes-to-pia-wurtzbach
  10. If those of you who are making your own personal cookbooks out of your recipes, or recipes found online or in other places, would like to have them in something less than a full-sized binder/book, this product may work for you (but you might have to buy multiple copies or add your own index cards to it, depending on how many types of, or individual, recipes you have). It's called "Study Buddy Notecards" & is made by Vera Bradley. It's a covered (comes in 4 patterns) ring-bound pack of 100 blank notecards with blank index tabs (comes with 4). The original purpose was to help students organize their class notes, make flash cards for study aids, etc., for school, but many people are commenting in the online reviews they're using them for other purposes, such as keeping a recipe file. http://www.verabradley.com/product/study-buddy-notecards/impressionista/1001491_201815.uts?Nr=AND%28Content+Type%3Aproduct%29&Ntt=Study+Buddy+Notecards Of course, you could also make something similar on your own. I saw this while looking for Christmas present ideas & just thought I'd mention it since I'm reading about people making their own recipe files.
  11. Not for nothing, but the limited edition Wavy Lays chocolate covered (Milk or Dark) potato chips--which I think were originally out at the same time as the Cheetos Sweetos originally were--are also back. My Mom found those but hasn't found the Sweetos yet, darn it (insert sad face here). The only problems I have with the chocolate covered Wavy Lays are, the chocolate never firms up enough NOT to melt off on your fingers & the bags are WAY smaller than a regular-sized chip bag.
  12. According to this linked article from yesterday, from Entertainment Tonight's website via CBS News, the winner's name WASN'T on the prompter, because they didn't want the girls seeing it before the actual announcement; the stage manager apparently knew the winner's name but it's not known if they told Steve; & Steve was at the beginning of rehearsal, but not the last hour or so, & didn't actually do a run-through of how to announce the winner/runners-up in the live show (but other sources have also said it is difficult to rehearse the part with the winner/runners-up announcement because you--obviously--don't have the actual names & you either just have to say the final positions with no names after, or you just have to fill in the blanks with names that may or may not be the real ones come show time & you don't know which is which yet). http://www.cbsnews.com/news/et-source-steve-harvey-missed-end-of-miss-universe-rehearsals/ Also, TVLine says Miss Universe execs say the error in announcing the winner wasn't, in any way, a publicity stunt, & also Steve Harvey is "absolutely" welcome to host the pageant again in 2016, if he wants--& people say he probably would like another shot, to "redeem" himself because he feels so badly about the mistake he made in naming this year's winner. http://tvline.com/2015/12/22/miss-universe-steve-harvey-host-2016/
  13. I think most of why Donna lied about having a diary did have to do with her writing about Josh's PTSD (which, like the MS originally, nobody--especially not in political circles--knew about) in it, as I said previously. But I've also wondered if it also had to do with her writing in it about her then-hidden romantic feelings for Josh, too (like she can't tell him, because she thinks--or maybe he's said--it would be unprofessional, so she writes about it in her diary; she did write in it about her involvement with Cliff, after all--Josh held those pages back, to use if Cliff/the Republicans used stuff Donna wrote/may have written in it about the MS/Josh's PTSD against Jed, Josh, &/or the Administration.
  14. Yeah. If I remember correctly, that's what I thought too--Donna had written about Josh's PTSD in her diary &, when the proverbial shit hit the fan about the MS, she didn't want "the other side" knowing about her diary & using it against Josh or the Bartlet Administration, lest it really weaken them politically (more than they may already have been weakened). Then Cliff saw it when he slept with Donna & he remembered it when he got to question her about the MS.
  15. I don't think anyone was ever that crazy about Mandy. She just didn't gel with everyone else. And apologies for the stuff you thought were spoilers in my earlier post.
  16. Tony-winning actress & One Life to Live co-star (she played Renee Divine Buchanan), Patricia Elliott, dead of cancer at age 77. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/tony-winning-actress-patricia-elliott-850585
  17. And that's exactly what he did--along with making the previously mentioned suggestion that Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines be named Co-Winners. http://money.cnn.com/2015/12/21/media/miss-universe-2015-donald-trump/
  18. Steve Harvey made a major blooper on the Miss Universe pageant (now) last night (in the Eastern/Central time zones). He misread the card that announced where the Final 3 contestants finished in the competition. He accidentally announced Miss Colombia as the winner (repeating from last year's winner), though she was actually 2nd place/1st runner-up & Miss Philippines was the actual winner (Miss USA was 3rd place/2nd runner-up). To his (the producers'?) credit, the error was caught, rectified, & apologized for before the telecast went off the air in the east/midwest, including showing the card with the names as they actually finished on air in close-up enough it could be read; Steve also profusely apologized for it on social media (at least on his Twitter account) after the show ended.
  19. I think my favorite Zoey part of the promo--at least the original 1 they released--was when she put her little hand on the side of Bill's face, as (I think) he was holding her, & she said something about "you look at me". I also noticed some of the clips in it had Zoey with her old, Dora the Explorer-like, hairstyle & others had her new cut. So it was changed during the season, & maybe they'll explain it in 1 of the episodes. I still haven't figured out my favorite Will moment from the preview. There are just too many good ones.
  20. I didn't even know about the winner announcement error until I read my Twitter feed a little while ago. I changed the channel after Steve said Miss Colombia won (& repeated from her predecessor at the last pageant), as I figured it was over. I'm sorry for Miss Colombia--but, as said upthread, she'll probably come out a winner in all this, somehow, anyway. If nothing else, she'll at least be the answer to a trivia question, like "Who was the only person to lose the Miss Universe crown due to an error in announcing the winner?". I'm sorry for Steve Harvey too. I don't watch his talk show, but I do watch him on Family Feud whenever I can find it on a local channel or GSN & nothing else I like is on. I think he's good at most of what he does (he won an Emmy at this year's Daytime Emmy Awards for his talk show, & was also nominated for hosting Family Feud), I think he has a good heart, & he made an honest mistake. And he's taking a beating on social media right now--at least on Twitter. At least I don't think Miss Colombia/whomever's behind the Colombian pageant can sue because she was named & then dethroned 5 minutes later because Steve Harvey apparently didn't have enough rehearsal reading a mock winner's card before doing the live pageant (& yeah, in the heat of the moment, the way that card is/was structured could be confusing... especially to someone who's never hosted a pageant before, which I don't think Steve had, though I think he's previously successfully hosted other live TV shows). Truth be told, since I'm half-Filipina & half-American, I was rooting for anybody in the F3 but Miss Colombia. So, while I'd still like Miss USA to have been 1st runner-up/2nd place (if she couldn't have won), & to have had the 2 countries of my heritage finish 1 & 2, I'm also happy Miss Philippines actually took the crown.
  21. Getting past the derogatory comments made by former pageant owner Donald Trump, the show returns to commercial network television on Fox. TV host & comedian Steve Harvey hosts the annual live contest from the Axis Theatre at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
  22. Could I offer a small correction? The character you've called "Hans", with an S at the end (in the quoted post & the 1 you wrote after) is just called "Han", with NO S at the end.
  23. http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/entertainthis/2015/12/18/star-wars-the-force-awakens-burning-questions-spoilers/77565928/ USA Today has "10 burning questions" about the movie/plot. There are spoilers for the movie in here, but I don't think they're anything (or they're very little) that's already been discussed by people here who've seen the movie. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/star-wars-projector-breaks-midnight-850336 A projector broke during a midnight Thursday/early Friday morning screening of the movie in the LA area; the theatre's attempts to restart the film ruined it for the audience.
