This made no sense at all. That house didn't have anything on their wish list. Talk about a gut job! It looked as though they were totally rebuilding the house. They would have to end up way over budget of $900k.

Did I hear correctly about the cost of the plaster wall? $6400? The design was well done.

yes, mom will be moving in. They also said the 2 kids would share a room. Very odd but pleasant couple.

The Boston wife made a comment about the living, dining and kitchen all being like one big room. I didn't think she wanted that. Then in the next house she said she wanted an open floor plan. I may have misunderstood, but I didn't "get" it.

I thought the husband was negative and whiny. He complained about so many things. She seemed nice, but together they were rather awkward, imo.

Again with the blue cabinets and busy backsplash. For the most part I think they did a nice job. I would have to watch it again to really pick it apart!

Did you just love the bathroom floor "tiles"? That bathroom was a hot mess. Considering the amount of work they wanted to do, their budget was ridiculously low.

A friend of mine has a raised ranch. My parents have a split level. I don't consider them similar at all. The split has 3 levels, the ranch has a landing level on the ground floor which is where you enter. I have heard it called a bi-level.

Some how I find it hard to believe that house can be renovated within their budget. I would love to see the "after."

Has her therapist ever figured out WHY she over eats? That needs to be resolved first (if it hasn't been). There's a whole lot going on that they don't seem to be addressing. Seasons, I know what you mean about the moustache, but I must admit Jazz is a better looking girl than her mom.

She wanted a French Provincial house but didn't like the glazed cabinets...wth They definitely win the lifetime award for the most obnoxious house hunters.

She seemed to get EVERYTHING that she "needed." She was so spoiled. It appeared to me that the tub was way too big for the space. It overpowered the room. I'm so happy she got the view and light she needed (wanted). I don't understand why people need such a luxurious bath, but hey, it's their money LOL

I would never buy part of a house. Not only do you share walls, but ceilings, floors, etc...I could never be happy sharing a house in that way.

My master bath has 2 sinks and I don't think my husband and I have every used them at the same time.

Agree with you all! The husband should have had more in put. It would have turned out a lot nicer imo. I thought the designers wanted to knock out the wall near the "nook." That was such a waste.

Good luck to them when they try to sell it.

I cannot imagine sinking that much money into a house in that location. That is no house for a family with young children. The third house was their best choice. I thought they said it was 20 minutes away from family? They were sweet, but clueless.

I'm assuming it wasn't in the budget to do any work on the exterior. At the beginning of the show the cost to paint the house was estimated to be $18k. Really? While I liked the work (minus the blue cabs and gold hardware) I would have like it better had they kept it at least a little close to the period of the house.

Although the staircase was awkward, I think I would prefer it "before" but with some minor changes. Now it's too busy; a distraction. I also think there's just too much wood. I like the ceiling and flooring, but the rest, not so much.

juliet73, I totally agree! Cost of some items was flashed on the screen when the couple mentioned what needed to be done. They seemed really high to me.

I wouldn't like to pass through over a cook top. Overall, considering the amount of money spent, it didn't turn out so great. It was an "amazing" party house though.
