  1. My thoughts exactly. I didn't like the floors in that house. I would want to replace them with something more in line with the character of the house. I have to laugh when houses have 2 bathrooms and one is in a creepy unfinished basement.
  2. Agree with all the comments about him. His soon to be wife came also a bit spoiled also. She wanted to replace everything. They were are the top of their budget yet they still re-stained the floors and did a lot of painting.
  3. Their reno totally killed the charm and vintage feel that she "loved." I understand why they did it and I hope they add some vintage-like features with the reno.
  4. I have several friends that have butlers pantries in their houses. They are used for storage (table linens, serving pieces, etc) and not for food prep. And yes, those animals heads were creepy. They would give me nightmares. I also found them both annoying. I honestly wonder how they stay together.
  5. Totally agree! The house they chose was built in 1950. A Victorian? I would love to see what the "designer" does to that house.
  6. I liked the California couple. No whining, no drama. Loved their choice but was surprised that they wee able to get the price down that low.
  7. Not sure I liked the exterior paint job. Looks like they're rebuilding the whole place. Would love to see how it turns out.
  8. Agree. They actually had a vision and no drama. Enjoyed this episode.
  9. She also changed out the tile backsplash in the kitchen. IMO it didn't match at all. I really don't get spending money changing some things. Her choice I guess.
  10. She's at the top of my list of totally annoying. She hated almost everything. I can't imagine traveling from Kentucky very often to go to that beach.
  11. exactly! I hated the fixtures. I also thought the kitchen was too bland, completely washed out. Again with the grey and white.
  12. I just saw a new HHR an hour earlier than usual. Took place in MA. Although they did a good job, I can almost say that I like the kitchen before they gutted it. The only change I probably would have made would have been to change the cabinet hardware.
  13. yeah, and the other is London...turned it off.
  14. I was shocked that the house they bought was so expensive. I thought it had zero curb appeal, not much of a back yard, and needed a lot of work. I did notice that their furniture was already in the house. Honestly, if I want to be entertained by kids I'll watch Counting On!
  15. I just knew she "needed" that house. For the price, I didn't think much of the kitchen and bathrooms. The bedrooms also looked pretty ordinary to me. The yard was gorgeous though.
  16. I didn't understand the purpose of seeing house #3. It was over budget and more inland. I thought the idea was that it would be more affordable.
  17. This pattern is on everything! Makes me wonder if there are any designers out there that are creative. Think outside the box!
  18. That first house WAS a mansion. Beautiful, but not my style even if I had that budget!
  19. I will never understand this. You're over budget, yet you go for those over priced items. smh
  20. VERY annoying. Hated the white tile wall. Considering how picky she was I'm surprised she let it go. $4500 to paint the kitchen cabinets? Wow!
  21. Both had family members that needed help also. I don't ever remember a show where the subject was addressed (although I haven't seen them all!)
  22. Agree. Not sure what happened to that house over the years. Terrible add on I suppose. I have to say I was surprised they picked that one. The second house really suited their needs.
  23. She needs to custom build it. There are many products on the market now that aren't toxic, such as low VOC paints. Older homes could have lead and asbestos.
