  1. Supposedly the dog was to "approve" of the choice. The dog had no personality. I would not allow it unless the buyers were interested in making an offer and returned for a second look. Not sure what the point was.
  2. Denver: the kitchen was a hot mess! IMO, nothing worked. I like open concept, but it looked like they knocked out every wall on the first floor.
  3. I cannot believe that a private yard for sunbathing was actually a criteria for buying a house.
  4. I also didn't understand how they went over budget $15k. The studio was supposed to cost $30 and they didn't do it. She also mentioned that since they couldn't build the studio it worked out because of the unplanned expenses.
  5. I'm still on the fence about this show. I like the couple (minus the fist bumps) and the finished product is usually amazing. I can't put my finger on it, maybe the camera angles...but it seems they show too many close ups (faces, circular saws, etc) which makes it difficult to see what's actually going on. I have a hard time visualizing their plan. Then all of a sudden, it's done. Maybe it's just me :)
  6. When considering the other 2 apts, the rent he's paying for a large place in the city was reasonable.
  7. While visiting relatives in Benicia CA, I was surprised to see so many front load garages. They were so prominent many overpowered the house. IMO, not good for curb appeal.
  8. Ga ep would have been a good one for Renovation show.
  9. Yes, they went over budget. It turned out nice, but it was really a tear down. No good bones. I think the price was too high.
  10. Just watched Kelly and Cameron in Valley Glen CA. They were very likeable. I didn't care for the tile over the stove or the leather cabinet pulls. I thought they did a great job on the bathroom.
  11. Loved the house, but the color was a tragedy.
  12. Not surprised. I found the ending odd to say the least.
  13. Lake Balboa...where to begin? How do these (young) people afford these houses? Totally hated the brass hardware on the black cabinets. I had to laugh the way they talked about needing more room in the bathroom so they could do their hair. Really?
  14. Too much drama over nothing. Didn't care for the bathroom, especially the vanity.
  15. Totally agree! She was miserable! Gut job!
  16. The girl from Bulgaria was a CPA. I don't think I'd even want to buy a house if I already knew I'd only spend 3 years there.
  17. I didn't care much for the bathroom. They used that "antique" piece for the vanity and IIRC there was another piece near it (a hutch?) that was dark wood. I will never understand spending so much on certain things (such as a chandelier in the closet) when you don't have the budget to do the kitchen. Makes me crazy!
  18. Agree suebee12! I don't understand why people need them either. How much time do they spend in a bathroom? We have a huge master bath with 2 vanities and a ridiculously large bedroom and I really wish I could take the square footage and move it elsewhere in my house.
  19. I loved living in a walkable area. Yes, we did walk to restaurants, movies, bars, etc...even when it was snowing. I don't think I could stay indoors all winter! People were always out and about.
  20. I thought they were both rather ridiculous. She was bitchy and he was a whiner. It was some good "hate" watching though.
  21. I almost forgot to mention...what's the deal with the slab? How could you not know you don't have a crawl space? Do these people ever have a home inspection?
  22. I also thought they would go for the third house. I couldn't believe the way they demolished that kitchen. Surely they could have donated most of it. Not sure they added $70k in value, but if they're happy....
  23. The Nutley couple: I don't remember hearing what town the 3rd house was in. There are so many options within minutes of Nutley in their price range. Not sure why they didn't look into neighboring towns. Obviously they were set on Nutley.
  24. Agree. I know the areas they looked in and was a bit surprised Alphabet has improved that much. Liked their choice.
  25. Not sure how it works in their HOA, but if it's a condo (in many places), they do not own any part of the outside and it's taken care of by the HOA. A friend of mine living in a townhouse/condo has her exterior maintained my the HOA. There certainly could be an agreement which states the homeowner takes care of the yard.
