  1. Kristen Wiig wasn't remotely funny or interesting in Bridesmaids either. McCarthy was the only good thing about it but I agree she's been coasting since then.
  2. I would have gone for "Bill Cosby - Star of Ghost Dad."
  3. That seems to be my dad's pet (or pettest) grammar peeve too.
  4. Speaking of Lisa and feminism... Lisa: Mom, your choice to go back to blue is so empowering. Marge: But you said going from blue to gray was empowering. Lisa: Well, as a feminist, virtually anything a woman does is empowering. And some other quotes from the same episode: Dr. Kissing-Her: If you're watching this alone, your love life is like Sister Act 3-- no Whoopi! Moe: I knew my love life was like that movie somehow. Homer: Oh, Marge, don't worry. A lot of movie stars have gray hair, like all those women we loved in the '80s. Marge: Homie, you always mean to say the nicest things. Homer: Well, it's not easy with you talking all the time.
  5. "Thank you, thank you. But the champ has no time for further queries. This parole hearing is over."
  6. I think you may have misunderstood. ABay was using "intensive purposes" as an example.
  7. People can have more than one pet animal, so I guess having more than one pet peeve makes some small level of ridiculous sense. And by that logic, I say that older, single women may have as many as thirty.
  8. Today I learned Optimus Prime is a Republican.
  9. One from the HD seasons: "Milhouse is funny: The way he's always shaking me by the shoulders and saying I don't know the real you."
  10. I would file that under "Acceptable Breaks From Reality".
  11. Tracy: Uh-oh. Right now Angie's in a hotel room dressed as a clown and I'm supposed to get into an elephant costume and interview her for a job at the circus.
  12. For me it's more "strongly resist watching" but otherwise I agree. However he was more tolerable in 21 Jump Street simply because he's not as terrible as Channing Tatum.
  13. Kaylie Hooper: You're so old and out of touch, Donaghy. I might as well be looking at Justin Timberlake.
  14. That's too bad, "motherfucker" has to be worth a lot of points with Triple Word Score.
  15. Ali G Indahouse and Brüno, both of which star Sacha Baron Cohen. Brüno is an interesting case because I was disappointed when I first saw it but I think it holds up better on repeat viewings than Borat does. And while I disagree with the notion that it's a stupid movie, I'll list this one here because of how widely-hated it is: The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle.
  16. Well really it's because they weren't planning a sequel when they wrote the ending of Part I. But I have seen the theory that Doc was secretly trying to prevent Marty from screwing up his own life because of the whole "chicken" thing.
  17. I'm sure there are people who hate when people say they're "over" something. I don't have a problem when they're talking about something they used to like (e.g. "I'm over Taylor Swift"), it's when they're talking about something nobody ever liked (e.g. "I'm over being lied to") that bugs me. There was a time when you were okay with being lied to?
  18. Tracy: Your boos are not scaring me. I know most of you are not ghosts. Jenna: Liz, you had me at "Hayden Panettiere is dead."
  19. Better Modern Family than The Big Bang Theory or Silicon Valley IMO.
  20. Wow, too low brow for Chuck Lorre shows?
  21. Maybe Gervais should have tried dressing like that.
  22. Clearly Modern Family has found the perfect solution: The same old sitcom antics that have been around for decades but it includes a gay couple, so progress.
  23. Except American Horror Story isn't harmed.
  24. Well at least we learned it is still possible for Jim Parsons to lose in one category.
  25. Kimmel's bit was funnier than Colbert's? Seth must be right about the Opposite Day thing.
