I just watched season one of this show (free trial of Epix on Sling.tv) and I was so impressed. It definitely deserves to have a wider audience. I started the second season, still on the first episode -- I noticed a definite downgrade in the dialogue.

I thought there was something a little odd about Maggie. I understand she is an introvert and protective of her brand, but she was so resistant to change that it was weird she wanted help from any one who was not her father. I’m not sure I could work with someone like that. Perhaps Maggie needs to be older to appreciate the changes Marcus was suggesting. I bet in 5 years, she may be a different kind of owner, if she hasn’t sold the company to someone else.

SC NOLA in the Media: Reading the Times Picayune

So, it looks like there WILL be a second season of Southern Charm New Orleans: https://realityblurb.com/2018/07/12/will-there-be-a-southern-charm-new-orleans-season-2-find-out-now/ BUT -- no word on when filming of the second season will begin or when it will air. I learned that this first season was actually filmed well over a year ago; one article said two years ago. I hope they film during August -- that's when hurricane season is usually the roughest, and sad to say, that may make for interesting viewing. -
Does anyone get the vibe that Tom is going to kiss or be intimate with Greg?

Nice article on "Benny Poppins" -- and his recipe for Shrimp and Grits! (Not that I know how to cook.): http://uptownmessenger.com/2018/07/kristine-froeba-southern-charm-new-orleans-benny-poppins/ If this show does come back, I hope they find a place for Benny, Nicelle, and Gian. -

Any word yet on whether or not this has been renewed? Kinda surprised there was no reunion. -

I believe I heard her say she moved to New Orleans to be with him. I think it was stated very briefly in one of the earlier episodes... That itself is another problem. I'm not moving to a new state or city unless there's a ring. -
Reagan and Jeff: Designing for a Champion

This is not good. To the Powers That Be At Bravo: PLEASE get professional help for Jeff as he goes this this difficult time. This really could not end well. -

I also think she is attractive in her own way. Her profile resembles Barbra Streisand’s and I think she is more attractive as we get to know her. It helps, too, that she really is nice compared to the portrayals of Tamica and Reagan. And she seems funny. I liked what she said to Jon Moody about his sayings - he could keep them! -

I think she meant that she was "new" to his family and didn't want to have sex in his mother's house. Loved the scene with Rani, Susan, and Tamica. -

Why is Tamica trying so hard to convince us that she and Barry had sex -- at Gian's party? Probably for the same reason she shoved cake into her husband's face -- in front of Gian. This Mean Girl stuff is really sad to watch. -

I'm going to go out on a limb and say, YES. Yes, she is getting more money from Bravo than she did as a "TV anchor." Keep in mind she was a traffic reporter and did the entertainment news segment for a station. This is not Gwen Ifill (God bless her soul). Also, and this, of course, is not verified and is only hearsay (fortunately, I make no claims to being a journalist): Their house in Old Metarie is rented, according to this comment on this website. Scroll all the way down: http://uptownmessenger.com/2018/05/kristine-froeba-on-bravos-southern-charm-new-orleans-authentic-as-canned-gumbo-from-texas/. There's nothing wrong with a rented house and I'm sure other reality TV people do this as well. But I'm sure we'l never hear Tamica stating this. Also, Barry apparently is not the "owner" of Fuel but the manager. Again, nothing wrong with this -- but somehow, someone gave viewers the impression that he owned the gym. -

I think Gian should consider getting bangs. Even something that is just “wispy” could make a big difference. Tamica’s mother also has a large forehead, but she covers it w/ bangs. -

I really can't with Tamica. I can't. Jeff gave this great toast about friends and family, and Tamica takes that moment to make it about her. She also seems to project a lot. She said Gian leaves when she doesn't get her way -- I seem to remember Tamica jumping from a table when her friends confronted her on her "truth-telling." So Gian obviously cancelled her credit card with Barry's gym. Well, guess what? Both husband and wife got in Gian's face in one night. Yeah, I'd probably cancel my membership, too. -
Ok, why did Reagan walk to her condo with TWO cups of coffee, when she didn't know that Jeff was going to be there? Who was she expecting to give the second cup to? Hmmm....
-
Next's week's episode looks really good. Apparently Gian is the only person strong enough to call Tamica on her BS: http://www.bravotv.com/southern-charm-new-orleans/season-1/episode-7/videos/tamica-lee-confronts-barry-smiths-former

I feel bad for Kelsey. She and Justin seem like nice people -- but I don't think they're going to get married. Justin seems like the kind of man who makes excuses as to why he shouldn't get married. I wonder if he thinks that Kelsey, for whatever reason, is not the "right one." In which case, he should be honest with her and let her find someone who really does want to be with her. I've watched the show sporadically but I didn't even know who Kelsey was until this episode -- I wonder if Justin is deliberately keeping her off camera for some things.
-
Tamica does not value what she has. She has a warm husband who wants her to do well, healthy kids, a nice house, a job. I think she needs to think about what's really important to her. There are two sides to every story, and every marriage, but Tamica doesn't seem to be meeting Barry halfway. Also, anytime a woman loses a ring given to her by a husband or boyfriend -- I don't care how many times you wash your hands -- something's up with that.
-
SO glad PR is returning to Bravo! I hope this means the guest judges will be upscaled as well.
-
So why is Tamica not sleeping with her husband? They're both attractive, you can't be "tired" all the time.
-
Does anyone know when the new season starts or will air?

Relative Success With Tabatha - General Discussion
nb360 replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Relative Success With Tabatha
I'm know no psychologist but... It seemed to me that Megan only wanted the fiction of a marriage, not the work that goes into making a marriage work. Looking at all of her past "media appearances" suggests that she really does love the spotlight whereas the husband just wants to live a "normal" suburban American life. It was hard watching the kids watching their parents, knowing that whatever they see may come back to affect them -- and their partners -- later in life. I really hope the producers of the show get counseling for the kids, if not for the parents. It's hard enough to watch the parents in real time. Now the parents' argument is on video, and the Internet -- for life. -
Why???

I love how the editors let us hear Kenya stating, "All those women at the table are s**t" -- and then immediately cut to a shot of Cynthia.
-
BOTH Kenya and Porsha made their volunteer effort about themselves. Volunteers usually volunteer and no camera is there to catch how "noble" they think they are being. Kenya was unnecessarily abrupt with Shamea. I think she really has no idea how rude she can be.
