  1. I'm kind of shocked that I didn't pick up on this line when I first watched the show as it is totally up my alley. The one that did crack me up, though, was the Nick/Hank/Monroe/Wu exchange over the crossbow. I can't relate it here, unfortunately, since it all depended on the delivery--but the delivery was great.
  2. THAT does make sense and I wouldn't argue with it. However, opting for Renard over a hotel still doesn't add up.
  3. Doing a little checking on IMDB...he's on another show and maybe it became impossible for him to be on both. I will say, though, that the way they shuttled him off of Grimm was a little suspicious.
  4. They are in the Overlook neighborhood of Portland. http://www.portlandneighborhood.com/overlook.html
  5. To be fair, it was up against basketball. But....judging by the reaction I've seen in the forums and on twitter, the writer who came up with the asinine Adalind/Nick baby story line probably deserves some blame as well.
  6. My husband, who insists he no longer watches this show but still seems to watch it, said this was a "Grey's Anatomy" episode (another show he insists he doesn't watch, but knows a heckuvalot about...). The A story was just there as a metaphor of the B story...which actually did make sense at the end. Poor Linus was never going to be with Stacy again because someone had done something to change him and Nick has all this angst about Juliette because someone did something to change her (well, technically HE was the doing her..er, doing it to her...er....). Blah blah blah....I find it trite on GA and I find it insufferable here.
  7. He moved at the beginning of this season, after he got out of the hospital. He told his mother that this house had more security than his penthouse.
  8. Yes, but my guess is that Nick and Juliette have combined assets (let's face it, that's a pretty nice house they have--or at least it would be if it didn't get destroyed on a nearly weekly basis--and I don't think either of them could buy it on their own) and looking at their lifestyle--how Juliette dresses, the cars they drive, etc--they are comfortable enough that Juliette could pay $100-200 to stay in a hotel for a night.
  9. I just re-watched this ep this morning and it was still underwhelming for me. However, something popped out that bugged me. I get all the handwritten books in Nick's trailer. Yes, there are times when I call BS (like when there is a pristine page supposedly written in the first century AD? Really? Especially after greasy-fingers Wu has been pawing all the pages) and I've come to accept all of Rosalee's books. I mean, there are clearly a lot of Wesen out there so it isn't inconceivable that there would be some Wesen printers/publishers. However, when Hank pulled out the Grimm medical book, that was a bit too far for me. We know that there aren't many Grimms around and, well, they don't exactly deal with mainstream stuff, so I really have a hard time believe that there are printed and bound Grimm books out there. I don't know why the writers went that way, that same information could have been found in any of Nick's "regular" books. On another note, apparently the scene where Hank and Nick come face to face with Linus/Stacy was supposed to be a bit more confrontational. Bitsie Tulloch posted a behind the scenes video with a fight scene that never made it on the screen (you can see it at: https://twitter.com/BitsieTulloch/status/581620946206752768). My husband, who swore off this show after seeing the preview for last week's episode, made what I consider a GENIUS suggestion! It might be time to bring some Aswang's back and let THEM deal with Adalind!
  10. You just missed some classic Adalind logic. "Hmmm, I'm pregnant and I know it is Nick's (because we are ignoring everything that makes this pregnancy RIDICULOUS!). I don't want to have Nick's baby! Oh, I know....I'll sleep with someone fast so that they will be the father and not Nick."
  11. Ditto on shirtless Renard. Frankly, this show could use more shirtless men. Well, maybe not Monroe. Or Hank. But, definitely Renard and Nick. And ditto on Renard pointing out that there is a difference between a Zauberbiest and a Hexenbiest. However, I wish he had said what exactly that difference was. As far as I can tell, the only differences are that Hexenbiests are female and Zauberbiests are male, Hexenbiests apparently have a kinetic power that Zauberbiests do not, and Zauberbiests apparently have an intelligence than Hexenbiests do not (but, to be fair, I'm using Adalind as the sample for Hexenbiests with that one).
  12. Meh... That's really all I can say about this. It should have been a better episode and there was definitely potential. The Wesen of the Week was unique and could have been interesting but the whole thing just fell flat. And the pacing was just wrong....I felt that the climax of the episode should have happened closer to when the Wesen was with Monroe, not later. The secondary arcs were pretty muted so I can't even blame that. It just never really gelled for me. I did like that Wu was more integrated into the case and not relegated to just looking things up and being sarcastic. This is the first time him being part of the gang was actually useful to the case. I also--and I can't believe I'm saying this--like Adalind in this. I mean, I didn't like her, but she was entertaining and she was only in one scene! Here are the things, though, that bugged me about the episode: 1 - Juliette....there are these things that they have everywhere--EVEN IN PORTLAND--they are called hotels. And you only have to give them your credit card, not your blood. Her going to Renard didn't really make any sense and, despite wanting her blood, it made no sense that Renard is letting her stay. I mean, he does realize that Nick is not going to be happy about this one and that could cause more trouble for him in the long run. 2 - I expected Nick to be a little more off his game thanks to Juliette. That was one thing that they did well last week--Nick was upset and, while he tried to carry on with his job, it was still obvious that he was not at 100%. It looks like this episode took place the very next day and he was already switching between "work" Nick and "my almost-fiance has turned into a rotting corpse of a witch and it's all my fault" Nick pretty effortlessly. The only time the two sort of overlapped was for a moment in the trailer with Hank. There was even a scene early on in Renard's office where Nick seemed strangely okay, considering what was going on with Juliette and the fact that he knew Renard knew about it. 3 - I understand that they want to get the Wesen away from everyone so that they can get her to Woge and then shoot her up with testosterone to turn him into a he before they arrest him. HOWEVER, doing this right next to the MAX line, especially in an area where the MAX is usually crowded, isn't exactly away from everyone. Even if you didn't know where that church was THE FACT THAT A TRAIN WAS GOING BY IN THE BACKGROUND OF THE SCENE should have been a clue that they weren't as remote as they would have liked! 4 - I know it has already been spoiled, but I am not excited about yet another Royal. I also noticed that the "dream" Adalind had in the preview about carrying Nick's baby was absent. I don't know if that means there was a late edit or if it is going to show up later (probably the latter since I'm not saying I missed it, though....that one little clip was just painful.
  13. Ugh...great. She doesn't deliver until next season--which means Adalind will still be around next season. Damn...I was hoping we'd be done with her. However, reading this makes me suspect that she's pregnant with Nick and Juliette's child (from when Juliette took the polyjuice potion) which, you know, doesn't actually make it better.
  14. For people local to Portland.... I just got my OPB magazine today and, at 8pm on April 30th, Oregon Art Beat is doing an episode on "The Art of Grimm." Here is the description: Meet the local artists who help create that distinctly "Grimm" look for this locally shot fantasy series. Now, I just have to remember to set my DVR!
  15. I'm really hoping--and I NEVER thought I'd wish for something like this--that Juliette kills pregnant Adalind. That's really the only way I can see them cleaning this mess up.
  16. I kinda, sorta agree with this. I think the problem is that the writers went from having Monroe and Rosalee to Monrosalee. However, within that, Rosalee was still be able to keep some autonomy because of her job and knowledge as an apothecary. In season one (and maybe in season two as well) there were a handful of story lines where Monroe served as a liaison between Nick and Wesen world. He introduced Nick to the aging Spider lady, he talked with some of his "support group" buddies in Big Feet, etc. I mean, for a loner, he knows a lot of people. Or knew.... Somehow that all changed with Rosalee. Who was in the congregation at their wedding? A bunch of eisbeibers (and apparently one bauerschwein date) and a few other people we've seen only as customers at the Spice Shop. Rosalee also serves a role as a liaison with the Council and I think the writers could revive Monroe's character a bit by giving him a sort of similar role with the Wesen in Portland. Just my thought....
  17. Word. I mean, we had the Rabbit wesen before I think (wasn't the guy who was drowned in cement in season 1 a Rabbit wesen?) but there are so many predator Wesen they could have used for the foot chopper. Sorry Monroe, but wouldn't a blutbad be the perfect fit? If not, what about a Coyotl? Why do we need yet one other wesen that we may never see again? ETA: Correction. It was an Eisbeiber who drowned in the cement. I thought there was a bunny wesen in the episode where Monroe goes undercover in a church, but it was a goat. I can't keep my wesen straight....
  18. I do agree with this. I like the longer arcs behind the WotW plots. What I'm saying is that the longer ARC has always been disorganized, with the writers dropping one thing and starting another. It is disconcerting for the viewer to never have any closure with any of these plots and it leads to what feels like a directionless show.
  19. They did a sort of similar thing on Friends. Courteney Cox was pregnant and Monica wasn't (in fact, she was dealing with infertility) and they just kept filming as usual and NO ONE cared. Frankly, they could have done something like this with Claire Coffee...or just minimized her role for a bit. I mean there were episodes on end just a few episodes ago where she would have AT MOST one scene. Everyone else talks about Adalind, so it wasn't like the character was going away (as much as we would have liked). Writing her pregnancy into the plot, especially when her IRL pregnancy is so far along (about 6 months at the time this ep was filmed) is just bizarre. It is obvious that this was a change mid-stream for the writers, so I hope what they had originally planned was so much worse than this (although I can't think what could be).
  20. Here's my gripe with the writers...okay, one of them. They don't seem to have an end game. I mean, they introduced the idea of some bigger plan/something bad coming/etc back in the third episode of season 1 and, other than bringing it up now and then, they've done nothing with it. Yes, there was some talk about Diana being important to all this, but even that was sort of dropped. What do we have? Well, we have Adalind who is too self-concerned to be part of any bigger plan. We have the Royals, who are STILL pretty much undefined. We have Hexen-biest Juliete, which has nothing to do with any bigger plan. I wish they would either tie up all these vague things like the keys, the coins of Zakynthos, etc and get back to a straight Wesen of the Week format or prune out these longer arcs that have nothing to do with the big bad thing that this show is supposed to be about.
  21. You'd have to go back to the episodes after Monroe proposed. They said several times over several episodes that they were going to have a Spring wedding. As for the 3.21 ep....interesting. If I remember correctly, that means that Adalind had relations with both Nick and Renard within days of each other...bring up, (big dramatic sigh) yet ANOTHER case of who's the daddy. I mean, they haven't even proven that Renard is Diana's father and, if you go by the show's timeline (which is questionable), there is no way Renard is Diana's father. Adalind took the pregnancy test about 24 hours after being with Renard, but a couple weeks after being with Eric.
  22. Oh, I agree with you completely on this one.....I don't think Henrietta is trustworthy in the least and I do think that Nick will find a "cure" somehow, perhaps with the help of Monroe and Rosalee (and that is likely). Whether or not Juliette wants to be cured when that happens is another story....
  23. Well, to be fair, she first woged the night Monroe was kidnapped and that, understandably, took precedence over everything else. As soon as that was taken care of, Monroe and Rosalee were off to their green screen honeymoon, so Rosalee wasn't around for Juliette.
  24. You pretty much have it. There were 2 heartbeats and the doctor said that she didn't see a twin, it might just have been an echo and then they dropped it UNTIL Diana was born and she started appearing and disappearing places (like when Meisner found her in the forest and Juliette found her up in the spare bedroom, but then she turned into a pillow).
  25. This is the interview with Bitsie Tulloch that I referenced in the Bad Luck thread: http://sknr.net/2015/03/20/77483/
