  1. Honestly, if Amber came out and addressed things that would make it things clear to everyone. Because Sammie is a late addition to Glee, the fanbase and even her fellow costar Heather are reticent to believe her when she’s saying Lea was racist towards her (which is sad in light of what’s going on right now). Being a diva and being racist aren’t exclusive, I really don’t get the confusion tbh. The wig comment is a common microagression against black women and our hair; sure you can say that everyone wears wigs and weaves these days but I’ve only ever experienced comments and jokes about “fake hair” and “horse hair” “You’re mad you cant grow hair like mine” lobbed at myself and other black women. If someone said to Lea “go fix your nose” I would absolutely think that person was antiSemitic. Anyone can have a larger than average nose but I know that it’s a rude stereotype specifically towards Jewish people, regardless of actual nose size. Anyways yeah Amber being there from day 1, if she outright spoke on things that would absolutely be the nail in the coffin for this whole situation. That being said, beyond being a class act she’s a young working black actress in Hollywood; she has to remain “on code”. Heather isn’t even really working in big productions like that so she can say whatever and not really have to worry about blowback. Amber on the other hand is constantly working; it’s been said that she’s a shoo in as a muse for live action Hercules. The house of mouse is huge and can absolutely make or break a career. If Amber addressed this, it’s not other actresses and actors she has to worry about, its producers who don’t want whistleblowers on set. Just look at Gabrielle Union, she brought up experiencing racism on AGT and has been blackballed because of it. Gabrielle, unlike Amber is married to a multimillionaire NBA player so she can leave Hollywood forever and still live well. Amber has to keep her head down if she wants to maintain her livelihood, that’s just reality. We won’t get more than the subtweets we already did from her.
  2. Now that Modern Family is wrapping up and reboots are the name of the game, I kinda wish that they’d bring Married with Children back. Harris’ plan made way more sense in this era, so I’m happy she got her way. Acquiring that type of debt for a liberal arts degree is completely asinine, and even with significant scholarships there would still be way more out of pocket with less in return than the online business degree. She can always pursue her her dream degree as a working woman and can afford it without debt/significantly less debt.
  3. I’m pretty sure she was also at the heart of all the DV allegations with Amber Portwood from Teen Mom OG... she seems like an internet notoriety chaser, and with her backing off her previous statement about the Duggar’s but then doubling down and including allegations against even more people when the DHS raid came out... IDK if I believe her.
  4. This is just... I hope the place they’re staying at is a motel with outdoor entrances to rooms, because if it’s not they dripped what has to be gallons of pool water onto the carpets of the hotel hallways. Those typically aren’t wetvac’d so hello mold! Such a lack of manners and consideration for others, but I shouldn’t be surprised JillRod is a narcissist.
  5. I’m African American and was a Kanye fan until he decided our ancestors chose enslavement. This article hits the nail on the head, his Sunday Service and new religious convictions is nothing but a combination of hypomania and a shameless and soulless money grab. It sickens me that he’s monetizing something very near and dear to our culture for personal gain while making very hateful statements. What many “mainstream” Christians like Jeremy don’t understand is that Kanye has always been a Christian, has always been a believer. That being said, the type of Christianity he practiced was more traditionally African American, with strong messages of freedom, breaking the chains that bind and self respect. That scares many mainstream Christians, which is probably why the church is the #1 most segregated place on Sundays, but I digress. Now that he’s this milquetoast, anti-black and misogynist fundie-esque “preacher” character, his Christianity is palatable to them (aka not scary and doesn’t make them feel guilty). I’m disgusted by the whole lot of them. Hope they enjoy the music though; only positive thing I can say about this mockery is that the choir can SANG! Won’t hear anything close to that in any of the churches the Duggars have ever frequented.
  6. Lauren is incorrigible, Christ. She reminds me of Caylea from the now defunct Little Women Dallas. She too had a late period miscarriage before the gestational sac could even be visualized, but constantly compared her pain and loss to Emily, a castmate who lost her son from severe congenital birth defects when he was 2 months old. Long story short, Emily lost it and spat in her face. Lauren might need that type of wake up call. Miscarriages are sad but they are incomparable to stillbirths or the death of a child. If she couldn’t say anything without bringing up “Asa”, she shouldn’t have said anything at all ugh!
  7. I’m in the recurrent loss “club” like @Marigold, and I wince at Lauren’s perseverating over her first loss, especially while pregnant with a second, seemingly viable pregnancy. I don’t know if any of y’all watch 90 Day Fiancé, but last week one of the couples featured was similar in that they were pregnant with their rainbow baby but the cloud of the first loss loomed over damn near the entire pregnancy. What I really liked is that their midwife had them write a letter to the first pregnancy, so that they could let go and enjoy the second pregnancy. Lauren needs to do something like that, she needs to let her heart fully break for the child that wasn’t so she can fully envelope the child that is.
  8. I personally think it was Jabbie or one of the howlers. My reasoning behind that is because every other married Duggar plus Jana has posted something except Joseph and Kendra and John David and Abbie. J&K aren’t really frequent Instagram users to begin with, plus it’s been confirmed where they live with baby Garrett; Mary’s old cabin behind the TTH. Jabbie, on the other hand posts every couple of weeks and hasn’t posted anything about the tragedy. As big as the house is that Grandma Mary was living, I wouldn’t be surprised if they lived together, with the added benefit of Abbie, LPN to watch over grandma after her strokes and all. If it wasn’t Jabbie, then it was probably a howler who went to go pick her up to bring her back to the TTH for dinner or something. In any case, I highly doubt that whoever found her is going to get adequate therapy to reconcile what they witnessed; if the way they treated traumatic events in the past is any indication I’m sure they’re going to treat any resulting feelings with “prayer” or somewhere like that awful Reformers Unanimous place like they sent Smuggar. In regards to the obit, I wonder what’s with the absence of the spouses? When I wrote my mom’s, my husband and my sister’s wife’s first names were put in parentheses after ours. It’s glaring to me that Michelle is not mentioned at all.
  9. I think they’re counting J’Tyler. Even if they were counting Jubilee in the grandkid count, they wouldn’t mention her in the ones she’s survived by. They would’ve listed her alongside grandpa Duggar and Mary’s own parents or siblings as close family members she was preceded in death by. I wouldn’t put it past them to mention Jubilee in the official obit when they have time to “collect their thoughts” (aka trawl here, FJ, and any other Duggar forum) though.
  10. If Ofsmuggar is having a girl we now know what her name will be. If not, the first baby girl born in the November batch will have Mary or some variation of it in their name. Condolences to the people who will mourn her.
  11. The clutter isn’t even what bothers me necessarily, it’s the grime. Izzy’s car seat is literally caked with filth and dirt, beyond what a preschooler can generate in like 2 years of use. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a pass down from Josie who got it from Jordan who inherited it from Jennifer and it’s upholstery has never been washed or even vacuumed smh.
  12. The bolded reminds me of when Bruhman from the Fif’ Flo’ (Martin) was hawking the “Whitty Huton Wuld Toor” t-shirts 😂
  13. THIS! I’m a foster mama so I am a consignment shop frequent flyer (my favorite is Just Between Friends), but the one thing I will never buy used is a car seat. There is no way to verify if the original owner has been truthful about accidents; even the smallest fender bender can compromise the integrity of a car seat. I always tell my new mom friends that they’re safer getting the entry level Evenflo seat from Walmart than a used Britax or Chicco seat.
  14. All I keep thinking of is 5 people crammed into a two bed one bath 800sqft mold house with two parents (because Ben is also responsible for the status of the home) who have less than stellar cleanliness standards....yikes. Best of luck to ‘em, couldn’t be me.
  15. Au contraire to the bolded: David danced and he was Jesus Great Great- - - grandpa! And it’s mentioned throughout the Bible as something to do in praise. Like @doodlebug said, some fundamentalist sects have deemed dancing to be a sensual act that can stir up desires that can’t be “righteously fulfilled”. There’s also some good ol prejudice that goes along with it: rhythmic music and dance are deemed rituals from pagan cultures. Gothard specifically cited rock music as being derived from African tribal music, which according to him is used to summon demons and spirits. To me it sounds like “ I can’t move like that or make music like this so I’m gonna deem it evil out of jealousy and spite”.
  16. I don’t know if we’re allowed to post Pickles here, but she’s reporting through the grapevine that JD has been hospitalized
  17. It’s funny we’re talking about The Crown; I was just thinking how Jinger resembles the Duchess of Cambridge a bit, particulary before she glammed up.
  18. My mom did the same but with crocheting! She died unexpectedly before my first wedding anniversary, but before passing had started a baby blanket in hopes of becoming a grandmother. 5 years later, after infertility and pregnancy losses, my husband and I are proud foster parents to a sweet 5 month old baby girl! We have the small beginning square of blanket in a shadow box we framed on our nursery wall. Back to the Vuolos, it looks like they had enough and then some for the children of the church, I went to the artist’s page and he featured pictures of the happy kids (swipe left to see) As for the one Jeremy got, I definitely see him regifting it to one of his nephews. Or who knows, maybe he’ll save it for little Lissy in a few years!
  19. I think a big reason people think that JinJer waited vs them struggling to conceive is because they discussed having children as being part of their 5 year plan, a pretty significant departure from the party line of “as many as God gives us (and as soon as possible)”. To me it looks like they deliberately chose to spend their first year as newlyweds just the two of them, and as they approached their first anniversary decided to shift from avoiding to trying and got pregnant immediately. NFP and the strategic use of condoms can work wonders.
  20. I bet it’s Grandma Vuolo helping out. If I’m not mistaken, this is her first grandchild; I can see her being like Derricks mom, who, for all of her enabling ways towards her son is enamored with her grandsons. Plus, from her presence at SiRen’s walk down the plank aisle she’s been with JinJer for the last few weeks, likely in preparance for Felicity’s arrival.
  21. Co-sign everyone saying it’s a generational/millenial thing. I know a lot of couples who do photo shoots to commemorate each occasion (and the belly holding and heart hands are DEFINITELY a standard pose for maternity shots @floridamom, along with things like a kissing while holding the ultrasound pose or the family shoes all together). Within my own community of infertiles, what’s been really popular are “rainbow baby” shoots for moms that have miscarried or lost living babies, “worth the wait” shoots where an article of baby clothing is surrounded by IVF meds and syringes, and “gotcha day” shoots for families who grew through adoption. Jinger looks gorgeous and over the moon happy, as does Jeremy. The heartbeat necklace is SUCH a sweet and unique gift!
  22. JD reminds me of Jinger when she was courting Jeremy: it’s apparent that he’s REALLY into Abbie and she’s into him too! Being in love does wonders for your visage, JD looks legitimately handsome in his pictures with Abbie. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the courtship standards, like the joint IG page, “giving away pieces of the heart” and even mild physical contact, are being relaxed due to age. 26 and 28 are the average ages for first marriages in mainstream American culture, but for them Abbie is already an old maid and John David a confirmed bachelor. A big reason for the strict courtship rules is to avoid horny teens from hooking up and subsequently breaking up. At nearly 30, both Abbie and JD are expected to be more resolute in their chastity, but even if they’re not the chances of a breakup are WAY lower because the market for them to try again with age appropriate people is dismal within their community (like poor Tabitha Paine and that rapist she married).
  23. The Radford family from Great Britain is on track to beat both the Duggars and the Bates in terms of number of children born: Sue is pregnant with #21 (though technically they’ll have 20 living children, one baby was stillborn at 23 weeks gestation). http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5782453/Britains-biggest-family-bigger-announce-21st-baby.html Unlike the aforementioned families, Radfords aren’t of any particular religious denomination; their pathological need for children stems from both parents being adopted. All of the children were singleton vaginal births, and the mom has been having babies since she was 14. They would have had several more had they not waited for 4 years to have more kids because the mom was so young. With Sue being only 43, there’s a good chance this baby girl won’t be their last.
