  1. When I think of Smith waiting by the elevator after Samantha had been with Richard, it just melts my heart. I have been thinking about this upthread interchange and have come to the conclusion that Smith must have been really messed up to have hung in there with Samantha, a women 20 years his senior who had major attachment issues. Smith was in AA so he could have had a dark backstory. I would love to have known it.
  2. Jeffrey Saad was a runner up on Season 5 and went on to host the United Tastes of America on the Cooking Channel. Season 6 runner up Tom Pizzica went on to host Outrageous Food.
  3. Good Lord. More schtick. More hijinks. More after-posting about Lenny's skin.....
  4. You can see them from the freeway. Actually for me Food Network Star lost a lot of credibility here. Those lines about real berries and a real farm had to be scripted.
  5. Don't you mean Matthew, Colleen the First, Colleen the Second, Brain, and Katie?
  6. Smith is my favorite. Where did that twenty-something get all that character, compassion and maturity? I really believed that he loved Samantha for who she was. The thought of him waiting by the elevator after Samantha had been with Richard just melts my heart. I also loved how sure Samantha was that he would kiss on the mouth the receptionist at the breast cancer clinic. I wished they had showed that scene (compete with the nun looking on.)
  7. I loved getting to know the real Kim in this episode. I agree that Catrall brought more class to the role of Samantha than the writers deserved. My favorite line of hers is after Carrie reveals her affair with Big and asks Samantha if she is judging her. Samantha says, "Not my style" in a way that was so honest and believable. I think of her saying that line when I am trying to be non-judgmental about something someone I love is choosing to do (like a tattoo on your forehead?....don't get me started!)
  8. Never thought about it before but that makes so much sense. We need to fall in love with Martha like we did with Trudy by use of flashbacks on Monk.
  9. I so agree. I would love to know her back story.
  10. To stir up trouble between Vic and Sean...and it worked.
  11. Love Orion's smile but she really did blow it with the turmeric answer. As I recall, she also didn't know how to use spices in her cooking.
  12. "I whipped this up when some hungry zombies knocked at my door. They said that it tasted better than brains."
  13. You got me. I contracted it without even noticing. That is the one plot point that bothers me. Why is Henry the only Native American that does not use contractions? I want the back story here.
  14. I agree The only thing I could think of was that maybe the rules require that one of the judges be from the town/live off the reservation so Longmire would have be their second choice anyway if Henry was not available (but if that was the case, my brain should not have to have had to work that hard to make the logic there.) Did we ever find out what the doctor (the murder victim; the youngest son) was doing in that abandoned barn?
  15. It's another beautiful day at the Red Pony Saloon and continual soiree
  16. I love Alfredo too as well as Randy, Ms. Hudson, Pam, Bell's brother, and of course Clyde. I even like that guy with the gray hair that leads the 12-step meetings. The minor characters are a great strength of the show. I don't have any must see TV this summer except for Longmire and maybe (guilty pleasure) Next Food Network Star. We must live in different parts of the country because it is already over 100 here. Not complaining, it drops at least 50 degrees at night and our houses are built to handle it (tile floors and lots of ceiling fans -- believe it or not, no air conditioning.) Of course, we drink lots of water. I always have a frozen bottle of water nearby to press onto the back of my neck. Summer might be my favorite time of year -- the air is so clear and the sunrises and sunsets are gorgeous. I plan to re-watch Seasons 1 and 2 in their entirety before the fall. I also love to watch JLM act. I am getting addicted to his finger dance.
  17. I am in mourning. Television without Pity is gone. Are any of you refugees from there? Let's do a roll call: Previously TV Name and TwoP name Why you love to talk about Elementary Favorite minor character Watching Mycroft and Watson in bed was like... I think Sherlock took the heroin because... Previously TV Name and TwoP name: Maryhedwig on both sites. Why you love to talk about Elementary: Can't explain it well but I think this show is healing me, increasing my social skills, and helping me to manage my own addiction. Favorite minor character: Gay-- she was a fully-realized character with very few lines. Watching Mycroft and Watson in bed was like... walking in on your parents. I think Sherlock took the heroin because... he is planning to use it to help free Mycroft -- he does not plan to take it himself.
  18. You nailed it. I also felt for Joel. I really like that actor but the writing of him being such a good sport while witness Zoe declare her love for Wade just didn't ring true. Of course, Zoe should have expected that he would show up because his grandmother was getting married. Would should have witness some hiccup conversations about that. AB deserves someone who chooses her first. The only thing left right now is for AB and Joel to get together. They are certainly compatible on the niceness scale. I can't imagine we would ever fell comfortable about Lavon going back to AB (after he is rejected once again by Lemon), we would know she was his second choice even if AB didn't. Yeah, I loved Wade's expression of happiness at the end. Someone's going to finally chase me. Honestly, I wouldn't wish Zoe on anyone but the chemistry between Wade and Zoe is too good to pass up. Also, Wade is pretty accepting and forgiving so he probably won't bob up and down as others might when Zoe gets into her antics. George and Lemon. Zoe and Wade. AB and Joel. Lavon and Bluebell. Rose and a great college education.
  19. Dr. Joan treated him in the ER. He became an addict after they started dating. Joan figured after trying to "save" him that she had earn the stripes to become a sober companion.
  20. More pieces moving around this episode. I like seeing the chemistry again between Wade and Zoe. Looks like he may be becoming a professional match for her. Also, nice to see Zoe do some real doctoring. I thought the lines about Wade being stronger than Zoe were kind of sexy in a trauma/drama kind of way. I love how much Wade truly cares for his father. I have always thought that the original plan was to have George and Zoe pair up but Wilson Bethel brought so much depth to his character that the powers couldn't miss the opportunity to feature him more.
  21. What is Papa Holmes thinking of all this? No way I could stand back I watch my sons suffer like this. I hope Season 3 finale is all about Holmes, Sr. (and please cast Alan Rickman in that role).
  22. I think the writers don't want us to not trust Devin because Severide does not. While Devin might have been telling the truth about her father, her justification for stealing from Shay's household was that of a psychopath. Shay might think she is interacting with Devin to get the items back, but she is playing with a fire less containable than the ones the 51 go out on. Shay would have been better off repaying the boys for the lost items weeks ago with part of the inheritance money she gave to Molly's. I really find this wounded lesbian story line distasteful (meaning Shay is portrayed as wounded- OK Devin is probably wounded too). I would love to see Shay in a healthy relationship with a woman that truly cares for her (give Rafferty a shot).
