  1. I understand why Paul's mother isn't thrilled about the baby. Paul and Karine are a mess. She knows Paul is crazy, and neither is mature enough for raising a kid. Look at their interaction tonight. His mom knows that if Karine comes to the USA, she, as the grandmother, will end up raising the baby.
  2. It doesn't matter if he can't support her. The laws are in place to make sure people don't bring over spouses who they can't pay for. The USA doesn't want the spouse on public assistance. If Paul doesn't have the income, his dad needs to co sponsor.
  3. It's absurd, but if he left Brazil really quickly after the miscarriage, I can understand what he's saying.
  4. I like her hair, but you are right. She looks like she is in her 30s.
  5. Thank you for saying this. I'm a mother, and it is insane how my mom friends think they are doing a bad job is they aren't playing with their kid every moment he or she is awake. Apparently this is a uniquely American thing as well. There have been studies that show that boredom and "kids being left to their own devices" is a good thing because it forces them to explore and figure things out on their own. Kids are losing the ability to be creative and problem solve because, among other things. mommy is always stepping in and doing everything for them. I grew up in the 1980s and I amused myself or went outside with my friends a lot. I'm better for it.
  6. Growing up, I ate a lot of prepackaged and canned food. We weren't poor, but my mother was disabled and my father worked long hours, so we ate what was easy to make. However, my parents always made sure there was also a fresh fruit or veggie on the table with each meal. When I moved out on my own, I slowly began to cook healthier. Now that I'm a stay at home mom (like Jill), I make many things from scratch and no longer buy prepackaged stuff. Since I don't work full-time, I figure that one of my jobs as a SAHM is to make decent meals. I'm not sure what Jill's excuse is since she is also a SAHM with two kids. She should start small (maybe one "healthy" meal a week) and work her way up to eliminating as much canned stuff as possible.
  7. I'm also wondering if the "student loan debt" also includes debts he has from hiring lawyers for his court cases.
  8. It was so ridiculous when Darcey said she couldn't return to Connecticut because it was too late. It was still daylight out. I live about the same distance from NYC as she does (I'm in New Jersey), and if I had just been dumped, I would have been on the next train out as soon as possible. They runs trains out of the city to NJ and Connecticut all the time because of the number of commuters. She was hoping they would make up again. She is delusional. Also, I don't understand the hate-breakup sex things. My husband and I aren't intimate when we are mad at each other, and I don't understand the appeal of angry sex at all.
  9. Paul and Karine have no money. Is there a reason Karine can't try to work to contribute? It would actually be better for her to be busy than to be sitting around the little apartment all day thinking of her loss. I understand that she (probably) doesn't have much education, but I hope she would *attempt* to find something. The Jon thing still bothers me. Most jobs let you take off a few days for your damn wedding, and I would assume his would as well unless he had been abusing his time off or was a complete jerk at his workplace. Sure, he can get another job, but with a criminal record that is difficult. It would have been nice if Rachel was sad that her older daughter wasn't at her wedding.
  10. Money is a big deal to me. I'm a big saver, and if I was dating someone who wasn't, it would be a dealbreaker. I can't handle people who aren't good with money. That being said- how did Rachel not walk away when Jon dropped the bomb about being in debt AND quitting his job? It costs thousands to bring over a spouse through the immigration system. She has two kids to provide for! This man is literally bringing nothing to the relationship except some facial hair. How desperate is Rachel?
  11. Many first pregnancies end in miscarriage and the woman often is able to conceive quickly again. Obviously this isn't the case for everyone, but I know two women who conceived within two months of a miscarriage.
  12. I'm the same way. I have an account that I use solely for online purposes.
  13. To be fair, she could have multiple accounts. I used to work at a bank and a lot of people kept a minimal amount in their checking and put a lot in savings.
  14. If I were Rachel I'd be really sad my other daughter wasn't there.
  15. I'm in my early 30s and have contemplated if I should get fillers or similar things as I get older. After seeing Darcey I've decided that I'm going to age naturally.
  16. I'd be so pissed if I was Tarik's daughter and Hazel suddenly moved in as my primary caregiver. Ugh.
  17. Yes. He only needed one week (and for his wedding)!, not one month. He also should have been getting decent pay (I know they do pretty good in the USA), so I'm not sure why he didn't make more progress on his loans.
  18. I'm surprised Lucy wasn't in a high chair. Rachel was hiding behind her.
  19. Ohh apparently student debt is not unusual in Britain: https://www.usnews.com/news/best-countries/articles/2018-03-26/debate-builds-over-mounting-student-loan-debt-in-the-uk
  20. So wait- Jon has student loan debt, and he didn't even get a degree? That's really sad. It's also embarrassing that he hasn't made more progress on the loan at 34 when he doesn't even have a place of his own.
  21. This is why you discuss finances long before you get married. Not the day before.
  22. She can't travel home? She lives in CT for God's sake. People commute to the city from there.
  23. So they have no money...but they were going to support a baby?!
  24. I had a vaginal ultrasound for my son when I was pregnant. It was at my doctor's office and I was 9 weeks. They told me that the ultrasound over the belly was good for 12 weeks and over but vaginal was more accurate early on. I was sad this whole episode was on tv, but honestly the ultrasound isn't a big deal. I found labor to be much more invasive since everyone from doctors and nurses to interns are sticking their hands all around to check progression! Hopefully Paul is intelligent enough to suggest a genetic blood test before trying for another baby,
