  1. Yes, but depending upon the backgrounds of the writers and when this script was written/shot, it's possible they were also going for a pop culture double entendre--at least that's what crossed my mind while watching: Classical myth Hydra, Marvel Hydra, or both? "Little boys" would've been creepy too, but it happened to be "little girls."
  2. That was my interpretation/reaction too. I then figured "girls" because they can incubate more clones, whether through methods like the Prolethians, or in the usual way. But then I began to wonder if Kira was not really Cal's kid; maybe she's another clone. But if they were going there, they'd have to at least have characters remarking on how much Kira looks so much like her mother and aunties and have a picture of Sarah as a child that looks exactly like Kira. And a clone Kira would have been spontaneously conceived, unless the Sarah backstory is going to get more complicated with Cal working for DYAD and knowing about Sarah's existence and so on.Yes, @yellowfred, more sweet Jesse, please, and the phone call between Sarah and Cosima was heartwarming--and, once again, made me forget these are one person playing two.
  3. Yes. And then there was a line from the news reporter explaining that when Ferrell pulled her gun on Tate, the people near the bomb ran away and were therefore saved. It would've been better, IMO, if they had a little flashback of that event as the news reporter described the theory of what happened.
  4. In addition to the Canadian v U.S. original air date confusion, reruns and other special scheduling are bound to further confuse. For instance, if you missed the "Yankee Doodle" Season 2, episode 1 premier of "Raw Deal," on Wednesday, you can catch a rerun of it tonight, Sunday, May 25, 10 p.m. EDT, 9 p.m. CDT.
  5. With a day job of reference librarian, that comes up a lot. See also this Google search: control women's bodies "orphan black"
  6. These two articles combined might allow you to extrapolate that point if you/we can't locate the article that explicitly states it:slate.com/articles/arts/culturebox/2014/04/male_characters_on_orphan_black_are_undeveloped_making_the_show_s_feminist.html and then avclub.com/article/orphan-black-showrunner-graeme-manson-whats-tail-203405 with:
  7. LOL, CleoCaesar, you have totally cloned Matt Frewer's voice there. Bama, I too am wondering if that is really the case. Maybe a hot, young Leekie (IDK, was Matt Frewer ever hot?) was in a situation similar to Paul's position with Rachel now (pun intended). Helena's “I’m very good with children” did give me pause, but then I recalled how willingly Kira went with her and decided that although the line was comical to us, Helena was being genuine.
  8. Road trips are so much fun. I hope Art and Felix can go on one too. Vic better stay away from the garbage disposal, heh--or at least not count on Allison to save his monitoring butt. Yes, please. Helena can tie her to a pole for a leetle while in a nice dungeon. Mark gets none of my thanks. Thanks, Jesse, I guess. Is he just a nice guy, or does he have a horse in this race too? Jessie is played by H!TYG (Hey, it's that yummy guy) Patrick J. Adams, from Suits, among other pursuits. Anyway, to paraphrase Dirty Dancing: Nobody puts Helena in a corner! Well, actually, that would be Sarah. But nobody keeps Helena in a corner. I guess she lets them implant her embryos and then gets the hell out of Dodge/Cultville/Hell. Let me count the ways she might dismember Mark and his family. I imagine Rachel is still relaxing and smoking a cigarette (with a diamond encrusted holder) after her masturbation session with Paul. Maybe hoping she is pregnant.
  9. No, she went undercover as a Liber8 devotee in exchange for not going to jail for being involved in the violent protest, right? That was a very high risk situation, so I am guessing it went south, and she is now being used to blackmail Dillon. It could be straightforward, or it could be more convoluted with various factions setting up various players etc.
  10. I debated about posting this in the show media thread or here, but it's more about Coulson's various incarnations and reincarnation. Well, actually, it's about Clark Gregg: nytimes.com/2014/05/25/movies/clark-gregg-directs-and-stars-in-trust-me.html
  11. On various crime shows, Dillon would be sabotaging Carlos and Kiera's investigation because he was being blackmailed by whoever has his daughter.
  12. Hello. My name is shapeshifter, and I am an Under the Dome-aholic. At first it was: Science Fiction, Stephen King, and Dean Norris from Breaking Bad: I'll check it out. Then it was I'll just watch until Angie dies or kicks Junior's butt. Next it was: I'm just watching because Barbie is nice to look at. And then: I'm just watching until the end of this season. I won't be back. But when it became: I'll just tune in for the first episode of the second season...I knew I was a Dome-aholic.
  13. Oddly, if you type "better call saul" into the Wall Street Journal blog, the search result is an article/post about how the New Mexico Law Review is dedicating an issue to legal issues related to Breaking Bad: blogs.wsj.com/law/2014/05/21/law-review-to-publish-special-issue-dedicated-to-breaking-bad Okay. Admittedly, I'm pretty odd for doing a search of better-call-saul in the WSJ's search box--but I do similar stuff all the time as part of my job.
  14. From interviews I read, that was the kiss of death to Flash Forward when the author's, writers', and producers' visions and egos clashed. So, it can go either way. From a May 22 New York Times article (nytimes.com/2014/05/25/arts/television/the-leftovers-about-a-small-towns-loss-comes-to-hbo.html): Great article, but the trailer looks like Revolution levels of violence porn, so, I dunno. I'll watch at least the pilot.
  15. Oooo. I hope so. Let's see...how would that be? A time traveler goes back to the moment before she is shot and grabs her to time travel her out of the line of fire. Nah. I watched way too many episodes of The Tomorrow People.
  16. We might get to see her give him the pillow treatment.
  17. Still not enough Louis Ferreira for me, but it looks like they may be working on that, and I like Kristin Lehman and Roger Cross (who must be on a TV set somewhere in the world at any given moment). I'm not crazy about the guy from Alphas, but that's okay, because we aren't supposed to be, right? And hello, Colonel Maybourne from SG1 (he played the Grandpa).
  18. So why did Murphy urinate on Connor? Sorry, I realize this isn't a grand jury investigation, but I'm trying to get the character motivations straight--even if the writers have totally moved on.
  19. In my work in box this a.m. from the American Library Association, to promote literacy: Big Bang Theory Poster Big Bang Theory Bookmark Gotta earn my keep now, but feel free to suggest better thread title.
  20. Because Trouble crashed the wedding at the most inopportune moment, screaming and running down the aisle. This would've caused at least a few to woge, and then the woged wessen started yelling "Grimm!" when they saw her eyes. The rest is history. ETA: Or what johntfs wrote:
  21. It is pointed out that Rachel's personality is at odds with the loving relationship with her parents that is shown on the home video. Although a betrayal or loss of that relationship could have made her into Cold Bitch, maybe she too is a twin, and, if so, she is the Helena-esque version. Okay. Now that I've typed that, it just sounds like a bad idea in a clone story.
  22. Normally that would be my reaction, but here it was: An apple? From what apple trees? But maybe this was a clever ploy on the part of the writers; anyone who watches beyond that point has donned Suspension Of Disbelief Goggles. Assuming this is an official description, the word "claiming" confirms one of my interpretations of Murphy's last scene, with his creepy, post-murder grin: He is the CW version of Brody from Homeland (the Grounders used torture and likely dead children to "turn" him into a terrorist, working for them). My other interpretation is that Murphy is the CW version of a Criminal Minds serial killer--the girl he convinced to knife people was a protégée. And exactly why did the guy Murphy murdered "put a noose around" Murphy's neck? I can't recall. Was it because he told the little girl to jump off a cliff? Raven is too smart, resourceful, and beautiful to be stuck with any character we've met thus far--unless...oh, I get it, new triangle: Raven / Lincoln / Octavia. Make that a pregnant Octavia. Oh, I had assumed they were just from the virus, but, yeah, it's probably a total. So I was thinking about 5 more, and the next season would be called: The 80. Well, still time for that, right?
  23. Saw this Smokey the Bear commercial this morning before work. Great way to start the day:
  24. I would have preferred Myka and Pete agreeing to go on a date. "A DATE date?" "Yeah, a real date." "OK" They are shown in a classic muscle car, at a drive-in movie. (there are a few left) MTM and Mr. Grant did that, IIRC. :) Either of these would've been better than what we saw. Another scenario I would've bought: We see them giving each other looks that clearly convey love, longing, chemistry, etc. that let the viewer reach the conclusion that in the future they do take their relationship to the next level, even though it's never verbally declared. I was half asleep while watching, but I'm not sure I want to rewatch.
  25. I'm confused about this thread's topic. Is there any doubt that it would be "I Can See for Miles"?
