  6. I mean when he was being flippant and she grabbed his face and started jerking him around.
  7. I may have missed it, but....Im surprised no one is mentioning Alicent assaulting Aegon...
  8. He was a little over three at the wedding, so he is at least 4 years older than Jacerys. He definitely is the mastermind....and I he is definitely giving me Joffery vibes.....Baratheon not the Knight of Kisses.
  9. The remark Rhaenyra made about how he didn't seem to care about their family in a long time....could imply that they might have tried but he didn't want to continue trying....He genuinely doesn't actually seem to care that the kids are biologically someone elses. I was actually watching CtM before I watched 106, and am watching it again. LOL. If Alicent wasn't so bitter, she would've seen that could've answered all their problems and secured her sons lives as Rhaenrya probably wouldn't have killed the kids if she could unit the kids. I feel like Daemon actually cares for Leena but is also probably avoiding Rhaenrya.
  10. The fact that he shook his head no to the procedure and chose to save her over the baby....he really does care about her. No.
  11. Those sound effects from the birth.... I AM NOT OKAY!!!!! That goat looked at them like: Excuse me?!?! What are you doing?
  12. Honestly, I think Eloise ends up with Phillip.....Her book has his name in the title....but besides that, I think its one thing to change some plot details but completely another to change endgame. If they wanted to go a different route, they wouldn't have changed that he was no longer related to them like in the books or introduced him so early. While in regency era, it was common to marry a cousin, nowadays it would disgust the audience and I think they changed that to make it more acceptable to an audience. I also think that people are undervaluing him as a character in the show so far because we don't know that much about him. He actually would be good for her because he is very bookish and already has his 'heirs' so he wouldn't pressure her into having children. I just hope they choose a different path for Marina's exit on the show other than the one in the books because that just completely undoes what she tells Colin in s2....an illness or accident preferable. I don't like the idea of divorce because back then, divorce usually just meant that he takes the kids and she is left to live on the streets if no relative is willing to take her in. I also think that in the grand scheme of things, Theo is not a good match for Eloise.....for all her radical ideas, Eloise forgets that her station in life and family name comes with a lot of privileges and freedoms that others is lower social and economic standing do not possess. She does not see that because of her family, if she were to chose to become a spinster, her family would have the means to support her all her life to continue her academic pursuits and at worse she would be labeled the spinster oddball aunt. I also think that if she were to marry Theo, he would not be risen to the ranks of high society, and she would have a very hard lesson at the realities of losing all that freedom her current social standing allows her. It is far more likely that they would be given a small annual sum to supplement their income by Anthony to live on....but as it would be nowhere near to the level of comforts she was used to.....clean water, baths whenever she wants, someone to cook, clean, and wash for her, the freedom to come and go as she pleases without worry about the cost to her pocket money...it is far more likely that Eloise would grow to resent Theo over the years. And not being afforded separate quarters or the luxury to travel or have her husband travel separately and spend time apart, it is for more likely for her to pop out kid after kid after kid.....having Eloise face a life much closer to that of the Prices of Mansfield Park.
  13. Who she lost her virginity to does matter....When Alicent was bringing it up to Rhaenyra, Alicent said something like 'You Targaryens have your own revolting custums', don't remember the exact words but the implication was that, at least for Alicent, there was heavy disgust over the idea of incest. So, IMO, the who was important to her....and I think the who, was important to Viserys, but for different reasons....I honestly think Viserys doesn't care that she might be having sex. He sees the hypocrisy, and thinks its wrong....but he is worried about her safety and fears that Daemon is using her to get to the throne. So, he wants to protect her and keep her safe. To the other great houses though, they would only care as so much as it might further or not further their interests....For those that don't want her on the throne, its a reason to use against her....for those that value their alliances and the safety and advancement it allows them, they'll turn their head and pretend they don't know.....
  14. Being a firm believer in Targ exceptionalism is kind of a Targ trait at this point. We've seen it in every Targaryen we've met so far. I think that Rhaenyra is no fool, she has voiced concerns that she doesn't think Westeros will accept her when she felt like she was safe to do...like in 103 with Crispen......but I think a lot of these perceived slights she is giving people that may or may not be burning bridges, is her being a teenager and knowing she already cannot afford to appear weak, emotional, or like she lacks confidence.
  15. I kind of wonder....in Crispen's thoughts at the moment when the Queen asked him...if, by some chance Rhaenrya might get denounced and then she might be persuaded to run away with him if the thing he viewed as the reason she wouldn't was taken away.
  16. I think there is some jealousy going on for sure....by their standards, Rhaenyra has a lot of freedom..compared to most women...I think she sees that, and wants it too.
  17. I think Alicent's sudden change is a lot of things....one being that she sided with the king in the decision to dismiss her father, the fact that Rhaenrya lied to her, and (and I think this is most important) her father finally made her see that her children's lives are actually on the line. I think his remark about Rhaenyra being forced to kill her half-siblings to secure her throne, finally shook the naivety out of Alicent and start asking questions. For real.....Matt Smith said in an interview that HotD was about: An incestous, volatile, sociopathic family in blond wigs. And honestly....Im here for it. 😆
  18. And even if it was 'trruuueeee lloooovvveee' (insert gif of Anna yelling at Kristoff) ....Love isn't even enough....High born women were still expected to be educated to a certain point and Rhaenyra is a Princess and heir. She is highly educated, speaks multiple langauges, listens in on council meetings, has been taught strategy, and is learning to rule a country....and has shown she has the aptitude to do so. If she left and went across the world to live as a 'normal' person for love.....amoung people who weren't given the advantages she was and are likely illiterate and uneducated, and because their poor, also likely not living in the hygienic standards she's used to living too and who are plagued with sickness because of it....well, Criston grew up lowborn so it doesn't seem like a big deal to him....but eventually Rhaenyra will not only get bored because she is not intellectually stimulated and using her skills, but likely grow to resent him before her brother found her and offed her...and any kids they had together....
  19. I guess there are a handful of other spin offs in the works, I knew this, but I didn't know that one of them was about the Sea Snake....and honestly that makes no sense to me since he is in HOTD....I would've rather they went forward with the Long Night Spin off they canceled.
  20. Also...for all his faults, Viserys does seem to genuinely love and care for his daughter and want to make sure she has the best and most secure outcome for her future. I think he recognizes the hypocrisy of the realm and honestly doesn't care if she engaging in the pleasures life has to offer, but more that he is worried that Daemon will use her up and destroy her.
  21. Something someone pointed out, idk if its true or not without rewatching episode 101, but they said that Criston's true character was shown in the first scene he was in when he fought Daemon.....when they were went to hand to hand combat, he tried to stab Daemon when his back was turned.....so he stands up there talking about honor, and chivalry, and love....etc....but ultimately he is the type of person to play dirty.
  22. I honestly think Otto's little speech to Alicent was rich....since if there's a war, he's caused it by manipulating the king into marrying Alicent....and he knew what Rhaenyra might have to do to secure her throne.....so....instead of being angry at Rhaenyra for protecting herself from a rumor, maybe Alicent should be angry at dear old daddy who put her in this position?
  23. I think he had genuine feelings for her.....but I also think that had she not pushed, he would not have broken his oath....I think his speech was equal parts wanting to be with her, and trying to ease his guilt. He's just not thinking clearly, even if she was inclined to run away with him...it would be a life on the run and always watching their back bc Aegon II, in order to secure his throne would have to find and kill her.
  24. Ser Criston really went: Yeah, I fucked her...but she made me.
  25. Yeah...actuallly being cupbearer was a good thing for Rhaenera because it would allow her to be privy to all the happenings at the council.....which is probably why Otto didn't want her there.
