  1. Of all the Targeryen's we've met, I think Viserys is by far the most passive. And its been to the detriment of the kingdom. If he'd been more assertive, Otto wouldn't have been able to get his claws into him. This...this right here. I mean with the exception of Viserys I and Maester Aemon, I think all the Targaeryens we've seen so far between HOTD and GOT are bloodthirsty sociopaths....but so are most of the other people around them. Most of them are horrible person...we're really just arguing over who we like more. LOL. I mean...not to mention a recent movie/show (or two) where a woman beat up (or tried to) a man that was sexually harassing her....and everybody thought it was great....and that was an adult....instead of 4 kids whose frontal cortex hadn't fully developed yet. Could mean anything, thats the point. Its meaning is not stated in the books or show, implied maybe....but we can only speculate.
  2. Don't forget that its okay to have two murderers in her employ....but Rhaenyra enjoying sex and committing adultery, with the obvious consent of her husband.....OMG!
  3. I would just like to point out, having watched the video, that 'question sharply' being a euphemism for turture, is speculation not fact.
  4. I think at this point, up till first blood was shed....its been clear that Rhaenyra was only acting in defense with regards to Alicent. But plotting with Daemon and Laenor to fake Laenor's death was the first time she reacted offensively. She cares about Daemon, loves him even....but the reality is, while Aemond claiming Vhagar took the greens dragon count up to 3...Rhaenyra losing Laenor caused her to lose 1, but marrying Daemon gave her 3 more dragon riders..once Rheana claims a dragon, to total of 6....not including whether Joffery claims a dragon or what side Rhaenys will side with.
  5. That conspiracy also set Laenor free to live his life.....and what about Alicent makes her better than her? One of her companions beat a man to death in the throne room full of witnesses and she got him out of it....and the other, murdered his father and brother to 'further her cause' but she ain't doing anything about it. The same uncle who threatened for feed them all to his dragon? Just so we're clear? And Rhaenyra has on multiple times came up with suggestions for problems in the realm that would resolve the issue with minimal bloodshed....but they were ignored because she, as a woman, had the audacity to give an opinion.... Everyone gaslights and manipulates people at some point when it suits them. Alicent and everyone else in this show and in the real world is not excluded from that. And Rhaenyra had good reason to do so.
  6. You missed the part where Otto told Alicent that her sons' mere existence is a threat to Rhaenyra and her claim.....before Rhaenyra was even married and had children.....Alicent is blaming the wrong person.
  7. Can someone actually explain to me what they feel that Rhaenyra does that is 'OMG THE END IS NYE IF SHE SITS THE THRONE!?!' I mean comparatively? Yes her children are not her husbands....but she is married to a man who has no interest in bedding her and therefore she took having children into her own hands. And her husband is okay with it and claims the children as his own. He himself has his own lover....and given that this world is a 'medieval fantasy' it actually wasn't that unheard of for women to have very discreet affairs after they produced an heir...even in GOT, everyone knew that Cersei's children were not Roberts children, but bore his name and without concrete proof they couldn't really do anything about it....and at the end of the day, the royal line flows through Rhaenyra's veins, not her husbands, so all her children legitimate or not, have claim to the throne over Alicent's sons' because they are not the next heirs to the throne. After that...what? She has the audacity to enjoy sex? OMG! The horror! At least Rhaenyra is actively trying to be a good person, raise her children to be good people, and wants to be a good leader. Whereas Alicent has actively spent the past 10 years working with people behind the scenes to sow dissent and chaos to undermine Rhaenyra....and has actively raised her children to hate and dispise their sister and her children. Raised her kids to believe they have a right to something their father has no intention of ever giving them.
  8. I think the relationship dynamic between Daemon and Rhaenrya is complicated. There is no denying they are kindred spirits...but there is also that Viserys kind of ignored her, or at the least viewed her as less than because she wasn't a boy(when she was a child, later he changed)...and Daemon did not. Even in the first episode, we see there is a very unique dynamic between them already where they are each others true confidents, they are open with each other and honest with each other where they are not with others. Whether its appropriate for a man of 20ish years to have his 14 yr old niece be his best friend is a discussion for another time....but Daemon also treated Rhaenyra like an equal and talked to her and didn't treat her like a child...probably the only person in Rhaenyra's life that didn't tell her to know her place and be a lady. Does that mean they loved each other? Yes. Daemon is capable of loving people. I think he also felt guilt for loving Rhaenyra when he knew he couldn't have her, and shouldn't want her. Does that mean they are head of heels, passionately in love with each other? I don't know...maybe? I think its far more likely that their love for each other is born from knowing that the other accepts them as they are and doesn't try to shove them into a box.
  9. I do believe she is dreamer, yes.......she told Aemond he would have to close an eye to gain a dragon....and told Otto he was the reason for the war.
  10. And its not like his words harmless......he was threatening to feed the girls to Vhagar so....
  11. He needed to, to be free....if he just up and left...as heir to the Driftmark and future king consort, he can't just walk away and expect people won't look for him. He needed to cut ties with his old life to build a new one and make sure no one came looking....and the only way to do that is to fake his death. And it benefited both of them to do so.
  12. He wasn't doing her a favor, he wanted to be free to be with who he wanted and to live his own life. This was something that worked for both of them....and its not unheard of for a dragon to fly off after their rider died....so most people would assume Seasmoke just left if he took Seasmoke with him.
  13. I think Vhaegar was ultimately lonely and would've bonded with the first person to attempt to. Rhaena, was probably planning on trying after she mourned her mother. Aemond who is a budding psychopath saw no reason in waiting and wanted the biggest baddest dragon....though I imagine many adults there probably thought it was in pour taste to attempt to bond with a dragon who'd just lost its rider.
  14. Its hard to guess, they changed some ages of characters in the show....but I think at the start of HOTD 101, he is supposed to be 20....there is like a 15 year age difference between him and his brother. The part that got me, was when the Commander of the King's guard looked at Crispy Creme after Alicent said 'You belong to me'....like you know he was thinking 'You move an inch and or dead.' The point of faking his death was to free Rhaenyra to marry again. yeah...let me add then, that I think she just cared more about Rhaenyra's sons having done it.
  15. At the end of the day, the four cousins ran to find out who stole Laena's dragon and were shocked that it was Aemond. The girls were already emotional because they lost their mother, the boys because they lost their father a close friend of the family...and here came in Aemond, high off of claiming the biggest baddest dragon still in the kingdom that gave him a huge confidence boost, and his true personality of being another twisted psycho starts talking smack and threatening to feed the girls to his dragon....so yeah, he got his butt handed to him, and it was deserved.... I know where not supposed to bring up the books, but as its not really a spoiler...I believe in the books, Daemon is described as a man that doesn't appear to age.
  16. I understand that about her too.....but as they say: At some point you have to stop blaming your parents and start taking responsibility for your own decisions.
  17. Rhaenyra also has a father who loves her, wants to see her happy, and sees the hypocrisy of how women are treated so he (IMO) doesn't actually care that Rhaenyra might be having sex with a man that is not her husband........whereas Alicent had a father who only cared about her as much as he could use her, and I think the strain of being used and doing her duty is making her crack. ETA: I also think that Viserys is no fool, there is no way he doesn't know Laenor is gay, and likely he knew it before the marriage was arranged. I'm kind of, of the mind that it may have been one of the reasons why he was keen on the match. I think he hoped that Laenor wouldn't care if Rhaenrya gave birth to a kid that didn't look like him.....though, honestly I think Viserys was worried the kid might look a little too much like a Targaryen....
  18. What is sad, to me, is that I don't even think that Alicent gave two craps about Aemond actually getting hurt so much as she saw (in her mind) another time that Rhaenyra was getting away with something that Alicent felt she shouldn't. I mean when Alicent tried to attack Luc and Rhaenyra stopped her and they were whispering back and forth....none of it was about the kids, but about Alicent that it was unfair that Rhaenyra didn't seem bound by the same rules she was and Rhaenyra pointing out Alicent's hypocrisy.
  19. He now understands that he was manipulated into marrying her.
  20. Watching the post break down and the show runner actually said: It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye....
  21. I'm glad they planned an escape for Laenor, I think if they had ploted his death, it would've been the one thing I think would've made her unforgivable.... Also half the episode felt like it was directed by the same director as episode 803......so dark....
  22. Im also kind of miffed there was no mention of the SK at the end of s1....unless this is the same person who made this guy hear voices?...I don't remember his name.
  23. I do like that we get more Jay Lee.......and I was hoping that they would tone down the Allie/Josh thing...but alas....
