  1. Found the episode to be pretty boring and slow imo. Leonard and Miss Scott are gems like always. Geordie's boss needs to go. He let things get waaaayyy too personal. Much more than Geordie; I'm glad Larry and Miss Scott were there to keep him grounded.
  2. Got blindsided about the recent news thanks to a tweet by masterpiece. Lol. With Sidney's actor we got an announcement before the new season had premiered. This was unexpected ngl. I'm fine with it. I've learned that the longer someone's a vicar in Grantchester, the more time there is to ruin their character. I liked season 5 Will the best, I think, if I'm remembering the correct season (the one with the boys boxing storyline?). So we're in for another new vicar and at least another season...They must be shooting for at 10 at the minimum. *Applies clown make-up* Whomp whomp. Shouldn't have hoped.
  3. Ofc there was a guy trying to cross the road in the middle of nowhere...bc ofc we needed some drama. Oh goodness. I don't know what to think of it tbh. Anyone concerned how Will seemingly ditched the kid to go for a bike ride (trying to catch up to Bonnie? Or at least I assume? Idk) Will u dumb dumb. How many times are they gonna push the "out with the old, in with the new" agenda on Geordie before they lay it to rest and/or he finally decides to retire? We've visited this idea multiple times already.
  4. Well that was wrapped up as neat and tidy as you could get. Everybody gets a happy ending or as near to one as they could. Good for Lady Denham for jilting Mr. Pryce at the alter. Glad she didn't sacrifice her independence. I'm cool with him visiting every few months though. He could always decide to move closer if he wanted to. Just saying. Picturing Edward as a clergyman...lololol. Georgiana x Otis ending up together...I only wish we could have gotten more Otis in this instance. We got to see him twice compared to him being mentioned what felt like a dozen times over this season. Congrats to Lydia on her secret engagement! She deserves it. Good for her. If only we had gotten more time with her! I wish we could have seen her with her beau as well.
  5. Mary :( Those Edward/Augusta scenes were creeping me out so much. Congrats to Edward for finally doing the right thing for like the first in his life by bowing out of the relationship. Augusta u dodged a bullet there. Charlotte finally broke things off with Ralph. About time. Ralph had the patience of a saint dealing with her always ditching him. Hope he finds happiness someday. Good on Jolly Parker for turning down Georgiana and Harry's offer. I know they probably didn't mean it that way, but the proposed arrangement was a tad bit insulting imo. Arthur has standards and I'm glad he's putting himself first in this case. Lots of talk about settling vs love this episode. And in the case of Lady Denham...I honestly hope she doesn't go thru with the marriage or I hope Mr. Price croaks before it happens bc the more Mr. Price talks the more it becomes apparent lady Denham gets the losing end of the deal. Lose her fortune, home, etc. a huge chunk of her identity.
  6. 3.4 thoughts: Tom needs to be decked in the face for that "u r no businessman" comment @ Mary. How many times have you nearly led your family to ruin with your oh-so amazing business skills, Tom? Twice now? Thrice? Georgiana forgetting about her own sugar boycott 😬 Does 5000/yr seem a little low for someone of Augusta's standing? Or is that about right? Edward pulled a Mr. Wickham. blergh. U snake. Miss Hankins and the doc :'( let them be happy. Arthur not having many good reasons to be Jolly this season hurts my soul. :'(
  7. My mom's favorite thing to do this season: Pointing out the same team of horses being shared by a variety of people. I hope those horses charge per appearance lololol. Super brief trial but I'm glad it's over. Congrats Georgiana! Also Otis!!! Tom slipping into his season 1 ways. Good for Mary for speaking her mind! Way back in season one I mentioned how Tom was like one step away from being a decent villain only for them to try and cement him as a good guy. This season I am once again reminded of those feelings. Augusta messed up by telling Edward to announce his intentions to Xander. How does one civil comment equate to "warming up" to him???? Duke trying to shoot his shot with Jolly Parker. Oof. :(. Don't take Arthur's reaction too personally Duke, I don't quite think Arthur has connected the dots concerning himself quite yet. Leo's defeated "At least she likes dogs" comment got a chuckle out of me. Nice line delivery. But like, the Duke's sis likes horses and dogs??? Sounds like good potential step mom material to me. That lady is low-key cool and I'm still disappointed she's gotten so little to do compared to her brother.
  8. 3.2 thoughts: The hand touching!!!!! My mom and I were laughing thru that scene. Charlotte and Xander are a pair of awkward beans. Soooo many longing glances. Lol. They're both human disasters. Jolly Parker and the Duke seem to be heading towards something. Arthur deserves the world and more so I hope he gets his happy ending. And the duke's sis seems nice enough. I liked how she was up for the challenge vs the two girls. Even tho it's obviously not going to work out for her with Colbourne, I feel like she has the potential to be a pretty cool friend. Too bad we've gotten so little of her so far. I find myself yelling at the TV everytime we get an Edward/Augusta scene. Make it stop, please 😭. Sam Colbourne seems like a charmer. The fact that they've had like 2 days to prepare for this court matter has me worried for Georgiana though. Practically zero time for prep for Sam. Rooting for Miss Hankins and the doc!
  9. It's so good to have Jolly Parker light up our screens once more! I've missed him :') Everyone's starting out the episode telling little white lies and/or leaving out key bits of information lololol oh no Solid episode. Lady Denham running away to avoid Mr. Price had us laughing. What a sight. Edward getting subjected to some...water torture treatment??? If only they had better water pressure. I was yelling at our TV when he and Augusta bumped into each other. Stay away from her!!! Speaking of Augusta-she got a total wardrobe upgrade. A lot more color compared to last season. I like the contrast. Pairs well with her happier disposition. That dance between Xander and Charlotte was super awkward-the actors did a great job conveying the awkwardness. Almost didn't recognize the Artiste™ Mr. Lockhart without his plaid coat on lol. Ofc he had to make a dramatic entrance. Ralph is just kinda...there. a fish out of water. Clearly knows very little about Charlotte.
  10. Only two complaints of the episode, both involving Mrs. Hall: 1. She was a completely unnecessary third wheel in that Siegfried and Tristan heart-to-heart. So awkward. 2. That random 2 second slow mo run to Gerald was also dumb and not needed. Bye bye Gerald, you sweet man. I wish you the best. My brain was telling me they were still in 1938--the ruby slippers threw me off for a hot minute.
  11. Nice guess about what's-his-face! Oof. Poor Oskar at the end :( The info leaker thing really fizzled out didn't it? Got an offscreen "oh it was one of the younger detectives or whatever." and called it good. What was the point? I had a theory about the leaker being the shady assistant fellow archivist guy that we got shady shots of from time to time. I feel like there's a couple of unfinished things that I wonder whether they'll get touched up on. 1. Like I mentioned, that other shady archivist guy we saw in multiple episodes. Never got lines but he was lurking suspiciously. Never learned his deal. 2. The pickpocket. Also offscreened (dumped his girl and ran).
  12. Falling a little behind on commenting: Chinese cabinet ep: Opium dealer--kind of shocked Oskar & Max didn't suspect her of anything based on how their previous conversation went (how she wished all those dudes would rot). Weird how they just believed her about him falling into the water. The ending wasn't the most satisfying. Loved the auction scene. Glad to see more of Max's fam this episode. Fun stuff. Movie star ep pt 1: I like Clara's new found independence but I'm worried that she might start using Max for stories. Didn't like how she kept pushing him for hints before the released police report. Currently suspecting that one assistant (Production crew member?) or whoever they were that was hanging around the actress. Every season I need a refresher on what happened to Leah's kids/husband. Seeing her surrounded by all those men made me think of them. I can never remember.
  13. The elusive Edward finally appears!! All the Mrs. Hall scenes 😭 The dropped tin of cookies was the real clincher. Tears were shed.
  14. Lots of little twists this episode! I liked it. Knew the minute Eliza assumed she was getting a hefty sum of cash that she wasn't going to see a penny of it. Moses Valentine!!! William obviously spends most of his time with Arabella complaining about Eliza. I'm sure Arabella just looooves that.
  15. Go Fitzroy!!! Woo! Nice boxing skills. Still want that police guy ggone Congrats on the llloooonnnggg engagement Ivy!
  16. That cat lolololol! That new sedative looked like Listerine. Lol. Glad it was just useless, not harmful. Wish flashback Siegfried had a bit more orange in his hair. That one trainer (?) Barn guy is the one who did the damage imo. Don't really believe him when he said the overseas trip went fine, etc. Rough episode for Siegfried :(.
  17. We basically got fun little bottle episode and I enjoyed every minute for it. Did wonders for Mr. Nash's character imo. All it took was lil more honesty. The multi-suspect shenanigans were fantastic. No William this episode??? I wonder if the actor had another gig going on this season.
  18. With how hard they're pushing the TB stuff this season I was half expecting that lady's cute lil calves to end up having it somehow. Glad they found the cause and she didn't lose them all though. Reminded me of the lead paint poisoning case back in season 1. They kept mentioning how the sister lived just over the hill-cue to the panning scenery...OOF that's a long way for her to walk.
  19. Enjoyable episode. Eliza finally got humbled for once. We got to see Arabella apologize to Eliza but not the other way around though, which was a little disappointing tbh. Arabella doesn't seem too bad.
  20. @Driad I just don't remember the episodes ending as abruptly as this one in particular. Oskar barely finished his sentence before it cut out. Terrible editing imo.
  21. Did the first episode just suddenly end right after the fashion lady describes the suspect to Oskar??? Like I can't tell if that's where they decided to split the first part of the season or what. It was weird. Time slot issues? No Amelia; she should stay away for her own good. She deserves better than Max. So does Clara, but it seems like we aren't quite done with her yet. Congrats on the new job though. Good for her. Did the coroner get an assistant or was she in one of the previous episodes already? Archivist lady! Never disappoints.
  22. S3E1: The cow drama was ticking me off a bit ngl. Wedding was perfect though. I take it we are supposed to infer that Siegfried made James partner to try and steer him away from the war? Yay? Nay?
  23. Pleasant opening episode! Nice to know Eliza learned absolutely nothing from the previous encounter with Sinclair when he backstabbed her during the poison plant case. Moses boxing!!!! Fitzroy soon to be boxing!!! That police officer needs to be fired asap. Let FItzroy give him a black eye or two, but please send him packing afterwards. Poor Barnabus lololol. Too bad we didn't get the details about that wild sounding case. I kind of wish we got a flashback episode of the case leading up to the opening scene.
  24. A very nice episode to cap off the season. Fitzroy 🥲 glad it was merely a flesh wound. Proud of him (and the other police guys) for finally standing up to his father. Hattie's situation reminds me of Charlotte Lucas' situation in P&P. I think she'll manage to do okay, unless something goes terribly wrong before she gets hitched. Her fiance is a cutie pie, at least. Almost thought Moses was going to put his foot down with Eliza. William is right about Eliza making it all about her sometimes. Her continually dragging Moses around this episode proves that point. Nice last 10ish minutes or so. Ivy & Barnabas stole the show this season. Looks like Mr. Nash is going to be around for a bit longer :/. I like some of their banter but he keeps giving me potential secondary love interest vibes, which I don't want.
