  1. I was also confused about this. He's selling MaxDot, but keeping the company that makes the socks? Which is why MaxDot is so successful? I felt like the show was conflating the 2 companies and that everything was going to be sold, with Bob out of the sock business completely. (By the way, didn't he recruit the Malaysian sock producer to run the US factory? He's not going to be thrilled at the sale, either.)
  2. I think Bob said he'd been "raising" them since the twins were 12? And we know he left college to take over the company. So perhaps he was 20 and now he's 53? I know it's really not relevant, but Billy Gardell is 54. Folake Olowofoyeku is 40, which would also work for Abishola having a 17-18 year old-son. but also thinking she could possibly still have another child. Even with IVF, Christina should not be so confident that she will become pregnant with 45 year-old eggs. It would have made a lot more sense if she had had her eggs extracted and frozen when she was 35 (maybe at Dottie's suggestion) and now at 45, decided there was no point in waiting for the right guy anymore if she wanted to have a biological child.
  3. Yes, they completely ignored the fact that although Dottie is no longer drawing a salary, she still is a partial owner of MaxDot and would certainly need to be informed of the offer to buy it. If the supporting cast appearances were not limited, Bob would have gone to her to complain that the twins (and Goodwin) wanted to sell the family company, and would have been shocked to see how quickly she would have jumped at the money, family legacy or not. Can someone please remind me: I know that Goodwin is President of MaxDot, but why does he get a vote on the sale? Did the family give him stock in the company? Even if they did, why would he have an equal vote? I also kept thinking as the debate to sell went on that if they sold MaxDot, Kofo might well be out of a job. Finally there was a throwaway line about Bob taking Kofo with him on his next venture, but it was still strange not to mention it until then.
  4. By the way, the Noah's Ark picture from the Trump bible cold open had a pair of unicorns entering the ark.
  5. So now there's no reason that Bob can't go with Abishola to medical school once Dele goes off to college (except for the 2 mothers living in his house.)
  6. Or host a meal every Friday night or a party once a month on Sunday! (Although, does she have any oncome, or would Abishola and Bob be paying for all these parties.)
  7. Haven't we seen it all before? Including a discussion of Tunde and Olu living with Bob and Abishola at some point? However, we never got to see Tunde do Deacon "stuff" (besides going off to smoke a cigar), which would have been new. Seems a shame to focus on the same exact issues when there are so few episodes left.
  8. If Sheldon is living in the dorm, that means he's eating 3 meals a day at college. Who's paying for that? (I also don't think the school would accept the liability for a 13 year-old living on campus by himself, but I'll allow it.) It's also interesting that Sheldon doesn't miss his trains or any of his other stuff. They really skipped over the details of this major transition.
  9. To be honest, I really don't want to see her and Dottie butting heads over the baby. I'd rather they end with her pregnant and everyone happy.
  10. And your younger kid is in college, something you couldn't accomplish for your older one! Beer. She's probably on Medicare without a drug plan (part D). And if you don't buy it when you're first eligible and then want to add one, you also pay a monthly penalty. I doubt she could afford to pay for it. In a previous episode, Neville gave Jackie money to cover her own expenses and she gave it to Dan to invest in goods for his business (did he ever pay them back? That would make a big difference in Neville's eyes) after Neville specifically told her not to give him any of Neville's money. Now, Dan has "lied" about money that Neville gave him for a specific purpose. Neville just doesn't trust Dan when it comes to his money.
  11. Christina should be more worried about taking unregulated "medicinal" herbs while trying to get pregnant or during any pregnancy than she is about a spot of potential mold.
  12. Not sure why the urn had to be next to the bottles of alcohol. There is a table with a large flower urn visible behind and to the left of the kitchen table, probably close to Dottie's bedroom. So, that would have been a good compromise. (Not that Abishola should have to compromise in her own home.) It's enough that her mother-in-law lives there now, although since her own mother does, too, i suppose that is cancelled out.)
  13. When Dottie mentioned the turkey baster, it made me wonder why Christina isn't trying in vitro fertilization (with no shots or hormone-related mood swings) before trying in-vivo. At her age, is the latter recommended so that the embryos can be screened? And I'm surprised that Dottie didn't want the future head of BobMax to be named "Max", after his deceased grandfather.
  14. It may not be necessary, but i would think that a nurse would wash her hands, and would want to swab the injection site before sticking the needle in her, by force of habit.
  15. And in the earlier meeting when Goodwin came in and told them of the looming strike.
  16. Thanks. On the Conners, Mark's "journey" to college as a very smart student from a very poor family is even worse than Dele's (I can believe that Dele has an inflated sense of his dance ability and therefore made poor application choices, but it's basically unbelievable that Mark wasn't getting inundated with full/almost full rides to schools that are better than the one in his community that came with no money.) I've been through the process a bunch of times in real life in the last dozen years (although never had a kid interested in the arts) and did my research. And I definitely knew the dates that acceptances went out!
  17. Dele should: 1) have applied to Harvard and any other top school that his mother would approve of Bob paying for (because it's his income that will deny them financial aid), 2) have submitted his essay about how much he enjoys dance. A top student who also has a demonstrated skill in an extra-curricular will have an advantage over someone who is just a top student. The only problem is that Dele has been very limited in what his mother has allowed him to pursue with his dance interests. This should also be a problem for Juilliard-they don't just want to see a video, they want to see a list of performances and experiences. 3) major in something practical that he likes, such as chemistry, economics, etc. - it's a fallacy that top schools have pre-med majors. A pre-med student takes all the pre-med courses, and majors in anything he wants to, although there will be more overlap if it's biology, chemistry or biochemistry. 4) minor/concentrate/whatever in dance and perform in as many dance groups/shows as possible while at college 5) attempt to participate in dance-related experiences during the summer: internships, auditions, teaching 6) if he does well, dance-wise, drop the pre-med pretense and just finish his college years in whatever (non-dance) major he chose 7) if dance doesn't work out for him right away after graduation, with his diploma he should be able to get a job that's better than waiting tables while he keeps practicing, auditioning, and waiting for his big break And yes, you can break into the arts without a degree from a performing arts school. One example is Anthony Roth Costanzo, an accomplished opera singer who attended Princeton instead of a music school because he "wanted to spend his college years seeing “the world through a larger prism” before moving full time into the narrower world of opera.": https://paw.princeton.edu/article/life-opera Also see this article, written after he won a Grammy: https://playbill.com/article/countertenor-anthony-roth-costanzo-on-the-transformative-nature-of-philip-glass-akhnaten Of course, Costanzo was an acknowledged talent before he went to college, so Dele should definitely have an education that does not focus primarily on dancing. Dele also has a father whose income would be considered. Also, if Dele refused to apply to Harvard, he's certainly not getting on a plane to Nigeria. I'm also a bit shocked that Abishola didn't insist on looking over all his applications and watching him submit them. And acceptances don't come via email. There's a portal the applicant logs into on a specific date. And wouldn't Abishola know the date that Harvard issues acceptances? It's easily searchable.
  18. That was my point. Is he living there, or does he bring his money sock with him and put it in the drawer? Did someone move his stuff in? Can you imagine him sleeping on either a top bunk or with someone right above him? But I guess he does, because there isn't any place for him to sleep at home.
  19. Thor has his shield, but that's probably not what you mean. If Trevor had been wearing pants, he might have had stuff in his pockets. I guess there was nothing in his jacket pocket or in Pete's shorts. Just imagine if Flower had been wearing jeans and had a joint and a way to light it on her!
  20. He at least listened/paid attention to the wives when their husbands wouldn't. And this allowed the husbands to ignore them even more. So both wives and husbands got something out of having him around. And the women were subtly competitive with each other so could never confide everything. But they thought they could with Capote.
  21. Between the broken window and the station wagon possibly needing repairs, the $800 will soon be gone. Good point. I'm going to guess no more than $5 each week, and he's probably not thrilled with that. Between the broken window and the station wagon possibly needing repairs, the $800 will soon be gone. Good point. I'm going to guess no more than $5 each week, and he's probably not thrilled with that. So the dorm room miraculously has bunk beds in it this episode, and Sheldon keeps his money sock in a drawer, which indicates that he also lives there. But Joaquin took a shower in that bathroom, implying that it's his room. Maybe they are hoping we won't care?
